I find it interesting that anyone would tear up a sign they did not like. You just advocate for removing Free Speech when you do that, and passing more laws to prevent vandalism of people’s private property. As long as it was not illegal, it should remain. If it was illegal (like flying another nations’ flag over our own) it should be removed by the law enforcement community.
The proper thing for good citizen’s to do is put up ANOTHER legal sign that explains and protests the stupity and racial, ethnic, religious, gender ethics violation of signs and political groups that only support one race, one gender, one religion, and one ethnic group over the rest of us.
This issue is about discrimminating legal behavior, from illegal behavior and illegal people from legal people (something I posted in a blog further back that Leila seems unable to do as she praises the “virtues” of one illegal group over another, while missing the far broader issue of the overwhelming destructive nature of the overall “illegal” population on our community. THIS we are legally entitled to discrimminate against unless the liberal idiots out there want us to support CRIME as a noble virtue in our community. Get a brain people!

I just thought of some things that the creators of the sign left off:
1. We steal your identities.
2. We steal your social security numbers.
3. We steal benefits (like foodstamps, WIC, subsidized housing, etc.) that are meant for legal taxpaying citizens.
4. We steal medical care (by using your ERs as a free medical clinic).
5. We demand that things are put in our language not yours.
6. We throw trash all around our neighborhoods.

Everyone keep up the pressure. In the Post today, Fairfax County now is another jail that will work with the ICE and it’s becoming a snowball effect. 33 local agencies (mostly in county jails) have formed partnerships with ICE and 70 more local agencies have requested to do so additionally. Mecklenburg County in NC, has placed 2,839 people into deportation hearings in less than 2 years.

ManassassResident…all saints catholic or episc.? There are two in this county.
Angry black man, I too understand the historical significance of Liberty St. and Lord knows we need no commercial devel on the corner. I do believe, or have experienced that not only does Liberty street contain the first “brown school” avail in PWC but the street houses some of the first YATES family members that have lived on the street for generations. Little do many people realize on this site, how prevelant the Gaskins, Tibbs, Ewell, Harris, Murrary, Yates, Bates, and Mills etc. surnames have existed in this town from it’s conception. As a white woman married into one of these families, I never realized the extent of which my husbands white family was inter- connected with the black families in Manassas going back generations. I would have conferences with parents and they would inquire…Mills? Are you related to so and so Harris? So and so Ewell? They would ask if I was a Woodbridge Mills or a Manassas Mills. Who knew?

ICE was busy!! Still lots more to round up. I reported graffiti yesterday, and was told that it was MS-13. This was in WestGate, and it’s the second “tagging” here since 9/4/07!! Sounds, like ICE could round a few more up right here!!

Someone on another thread posted in Spanish, I do not know Spanish so,I did the internet translator ( 3 independent source.. SAME translation)
It comes down to DIALECT….just as so many want to say squat about the English that is spoken here…some will call it Redneck bs… it is really getting petty.( ya’ll, you’ns, wash, warsh…. wtfe)
I went to Italy when I was 18 ( no other travel, language training at that time) I thought Italian sounded a lot like Spanish. I remember mentioning that there and they understood. ( Spain is close to Italy)
This was so many years ago. I remember being “corrected” that it was not the same even when talking about Spain.( same stuff we are talking about here…YEARS later)

jfk1 - I sometimes attend A.S. Never had the stomach to join (recall the previous scandal(s). The pastor has apparently been influenced by modernism and liberation theology. It becomes obvious when you find out who/what he is “generous” with and who/what he is not. He fits in very well with the diocesan immigration agenda. It is false charity. He has been told who MSF are and their affiliations, but he doesn’t care. He allows his hispanic populace to continue to be lied to by these pro-illegal groups, taken advantage of by them with their continuous propaganda that the resolution is aimed at ALL immigrants, spreading fear and pitting neighbor against neighbor by driving home the message that anyone wanting to enforce our laws are racists.

We’re all pretty much of the same mindset on this issue. But, please, we need to restrain our speech. The good old days of unrestrained free speech are, sadly, over. US Code has been amended in recent years not only with respect to so-called “hate” speech, but also with regard to speech that could be interpreted as constituting speech that may incite violence or other criminal acts. We are individually and collectively under a very intense microscope now. We don’t want to endanger Greg or the cause of Help Save Manassas in terms of criminal or civil liability. Let’s tone it down people, for the sake of our arguments and for Greg personally, who provides this forum at some not insubstantial litigation risk. Greg is a citizen activist, not a lawyer… let’s police ourselves for his benefit, and for the benefit of this forum. Write every post as if an eagle-eyed government lawyer is reviewing it for any sense of criminal provocation.
