NBC 4 will run a segment at 5:00PM on the response of Help Save Manassas to the lawsuit filed yesterday by the Woodbridge Worker’s Committee. It should be interesting to see what the press does with something like this:

It is important for the press to fully understand what the lead plaintiff in this lawsuit actually is. The Woodbridge Worker’s Committee was originally founded under the name “Zapatista Committee of the Knitted Cap” in 2003. A majority of it’s members are self-identified illegal aliens, many of whom have turned the corner of Prince William Parkway and Route One into an informal day laborer hiring center which is our county’s largest open-air toilet. The Woodbridge Worker’s Committee is a member organization of “Mexicans Without Borders”, which is the lead organization in the United States engaged in the “Other Campaign” of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, also known as the EZLN. The purpose of this “Other Campaign” is to extend the radical agenda of the EZLN, which has engaged in terrorism in the past, beyond Mexico.

The EZLN has displaced thousands of civilians from so-called “autonomous zones”, murdered captured prisoners with chainsaws, and seeks to destroy capitalism as one of it’s primary goals. Their official website “Enlace Zapatista” features photographs of their international efforts in the “Other Campaign” of burning cars in the suburbs of Paris during last year’s riots, mobs of machete wielding radicals wearing ski masks, and pictures of their meetings with anarchist and communist organizations around the globe. The Mexicans Without Borders website even features a picture of Arnoldo Borjas addressing the EZLN in Mexico wearing camouflage fatigues and a ski mask. Hardly the “pro-immigrant” organization that it tries to portray itself, it is a disturbing radical organization that is calling for the destruction of American society.

Here’s the photo referenced in this statement:

I think the links you describe are kind of tenuous, but I guess if the above material is something you have prepared as a formal statement, I would fix two sorts of errors.

    1. You have “it’s” the contraction when you mean the possessive “its.”

    2. For obvious reasons, I didn’t think that the organization could be called Woodbridge Worker’s Committee, so I checked. I was thinking it must be Workers’ Committee, but it appears to be without any apostrophe, at least on the MSF site, in the lawsuit, and in the WPost article.

[Ed note: thank you for the critique. You were right.]

Re Josh’s Christmas List (josh said on 11 Oct 2007 at 6:53 pm)

You know, I don’t think Santa is a U.S. Citizen… and I doubt he has the proper documentation for his visits… long hair, beard, flaming fur trimmed red suit, likes small children “a little too much” perhaps, breaking into homes in the middle of the night… reports he panders on streetcorners for change… do we really want him in our County?

Are you insinuating Santa to be gay… ?

not at all (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I doubt any respectable gay person would be caught dead in Santa’s outfit (unless he/she were at a Christmas party).

Have YOU heard something (about Santa?)

Couldn’t help but notice all the Latino looking hardhats in yellow vests. Are they also not welcome? Most of the men working on street improvement seem to be Latinos. Most of the men who have dug up streets for your cable TV are Latinos. Most of the maids in the motels are Latinas. Most of the dishwashers in restaurants are Latinos. Most of the people keeping our green areas beautiful are Latinos. Most of the women who clean well-to-do peoples’ homes are Latinas. So, round’em up and send them back to where they came from and just TRY to get “regular” people doing all this.

josh’s comment about Nancy Lyall’s face is so childish, I can’t believe he wrote that. Wonder what HIS face looks like.

Greg is flying high these days just like George Taplin with his Minutemen defence corps. The illegals have certainly been good for the two of you! You’d be a nobody, weren’t it for them!

    !Krutis,
You need to watch the gumball video and come to your senses. This is an illegal invasion. Wake up! Job wages need to increase to the point of providing a decent wage for our citizens and those jobs would be filled. Putting our people out of work because of unfair labor practices is NOT GOOD for any of us.

CJC - For pete’s sake. I’ve seen the “famous” gumball show. Paying enough won’t always do it. I don’t know how much the life guards on the Atlantic coast earn, but it ended up that most of them last summer were from Eastern Europe, as were the hotel/motel workers. In one case I personally know of, a girl from one of the Baltic states was living with 11 others in a two bedroom house. Advertising for Americans didn’t get result evidently.

A pet peeve: those who are so proud of their ancestors coming in legally through Ellis Island. Don’t think they wouldn’t have snuck over the border, if that pesky Atlantic ocean hadn’t been in the way!

    Krutis

    regarding your 11:30 pm post.

I am all for sending them home if they are not here leaglly. Otherwise lets leave them alone. Also, many kids come here for the summer to visit, have fun, and do some part time work like you described. I do not think these are the problem since they GO HOME after their “working vacation” taking their memories home and leaving their money here.

Did the ships not have the ability to dock somewhere besides Ellis Island? or did they dock there to enter this country legally? I believe those folks had a choice of making their first act in the US illegal if they wanted, but they chose to come in the legal way.

Great video. Krutis…first of all….I saw ALOT of people just sitting around a day labor area (boy they sure are hard at work aren’t they?). As far as your comments on who is doing certain jobs….that is the type of work (with their education) that they can do!!!!! So get over it! Businesses are hiring them because they can get “cheap illegal labor”. If the businesses raised the pay that is consistent with our general economy, more legal workers would sign on.

KRUSTY THE CLOWN-How dare you belittle the efforts of former immigrants that came to this great nation and survived the journey across that freakin pesky ocean. YOU ARE MORON, SIR!

  31. Krutis said on 12 Oct 2007 at 11:17 am:

My gosh, Kracky - I’m not belittling them. I think they were braver than any of us. What I was trying to say was, that if Europe and America had not been separated by an ocean, the Europeans would have come across the border, just as so many Canadians (my mother-in-law did as a child) did and now our neighbors from the south are doing. Those who came here after the long, hellish voyage by sea have all my admiration.

George - Of course the ships could reach other harbors and did. I’m sure many sailors jumped ship without the benefit of any legal entry qualifications. Think of our long coastline in every direction except north. Even there, we have the St Lawrence Seaway coming in fr the Atlantic.

Patriot - “the only work they can do with their education”. So why deny them the education they need to do other jobs. Many of you don’t want their kids to go to school, and those who successfully graduate fr hi school are denied further education. There are all these hindrances for those capable to get anywhere and we end up with “ditch diggers”, som of whom could do so much more.

Let’s take care of our own first before we start sending Mexico’s ‘finest’ off to college on the public teet shall we? Better yet, why don’t you go ahead and pony up 50k of your own money if you are so determined to keep them from becoming ditch diggers. Freakin’ traitorous hypocrite.
