NumbersUSA Joins The Fight In Prince William
By Greg L | 11 October 2007 | Illegal Aliens, Prince William County | 58 Comments
NumbersUSA is weighing in on the efforts in Prince William County and urging members within Prince William County to call and fax their county supervisors. These are the same folks who helped melt the phone lines at the United States Senate earlier this year. I hope there’s a LOT of fax paper in the offices of the Board of County Supervisors!
Here’s the alert that NumbersUSA has sent out:
On Tuesday, October 16, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors will vote on whether to restrict taxpayer-funded services to illegal aliens, and also whether to provide $14 million in additional funding over five years to the counties police department so that it can effectively implement new county policies that would end “catch and release” of illegal aliens in Prince William. The County Supervisors must hear from as many citizens as possible right now who want to ensure that the rule of law is upheld.
Prince William County now offers homeless intervention programs to illegal aliens using taxpayer dollars while our own citizens go without, but right now, needy citizens are being put on a waiting list while known illegal aliens receive ill-gotten benefits. Outrages like these cost county taxpayers an estimated $2.7 million dollars every year.
It gets worse. Because of the county’s significant illegal alien population, residents currently pay over $37 million dollars a year so that 3,600 illegal aliens in the public school system may be educated. The cost of incarcerating illegal aliens in the county jail system is estimated to be $3 million dollars a year. When all of these costs are added up, they exceed $43.5 million a year.
But some Board Members are concerned that they can’t afford to spend about $2.5 million each year in order to reduce these numbers. They think there may be other more important priorities than restoring the quality of life in your neighborhoods, reducing the number of criminal illegal aliens among you, and reducing the number of overcrowded schools that you have. They need to hear from you that not only is this a wise use of public resources, but it’s something they can’t afford NOT to do.

Good, they are nice and objective. This group will contribute positively to the issue as they have no particular axe to grind with anyone and deal strictly with facts.
Seems like a no-brainer to me. How could anyone be opposed to this effort when the numbers are presented so clearly? Well, I guess the elitist snobs in Arlington and Fairfax counties might take issue.
Are you sure you want them here?
They are anti-immigration including legal immigration
I wish I could fax a few…but I have passed the link to everyone I know in PWC !
Are you sure you want them here?
To answer you’re question: Is a blue dog blue?

Actually, your comment is redundant.
What’s the difference between immigration and legal immigration?
Bob Sentz: Bravo, you busted novamiddleman. It just shows how we’re being manipulated–legal immigration, undocumented worker. etc. This political correctness has us talking nonsense.
novamiddleman: “Are you sure you want them here? They are anti-immigration including legal immigration”
Intrigued by what you said, I went to their site and looked at their “goals”. Looking at it cursorily, with tidbits of information all over the website (it’s a rather “noisy” site), I gathered this:
Being “anti-illegal immigration” is a given.
Being steadfastly “anti-immigration”, I’m not so sure. I think their intended goal is to look at ALL immigration levels to see if this country can sustain massive amounts of LEGAL immigration in an “environmentally sustainable”, “economically just society that protects individual liberties” [quoting them].
Given what I read on their site, I don’t see where they are anti-immigration. I believe their beef is that we should do it in a way that the USA can manage it.
Immigration is a legal process, not to be confused with one who unlawfully penetrates our borders.
yeah Greg, they must be war veterans., if you all want all illegal people out of here ., all that money must be taken out from your pocket,
tax increase only for HSM , because business owners said they are not paying for anything.
if you do not like my coment, please do not erase it, if you rally believe in freedom of speech.
I mean, “comment”

I don’t think Greg SHOULD remove this. Etch it in stone. It’s a perfect example of incomprehensible, illiterate verbal sputum coming from an “apologist” or moonbat nutball.
Please spew some more!
Angry Whiteman — 8:50PM
I have absolutely no idea what you’re trying to say…
Angry Whiteman and Hickspanic must be on drugs.
monticup
yeah, it’s the same kind, you smoke
don’t you have something better to say?
freedom.
you said you do not understand , no school? nop, nop?
I heard Corey Stewart was given a hard time on 107.7 FM today.
I’d be interested in how this “nice and objective” organization came up with the 3600 illegal aliens in the school figure given that the schools don’t track that data.
Did anyone see CNN last night?
Hats off to Irving, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma who have taken action against illegals and the illegals there are leaving by “the thousands”!
“Attrition through Enforcement”!

Well I am telling all, especially the MANASSAS PARK GOVERNMENT that I will not be paying any more increase in my taxes to fund your illegal alien subsidies. No more will I pay to fund free babies, free education, free food for a bunch of invaders and leeches. I too am no longer paying for “anything” as you say.
Irving Texas is doing it the right way, they are asking everyone they stop for identification and arresting the ones who don’t have it. That is the rule of law. Oops, boss caught me blogging, gotta get back to the griddle…
Press release makes sense to me but again we must be careful
But some Board Members are concerned that they can’t afford to spend about $2.5 million each year in order to reduce these numbers (agree). They think there may be other more important priorities than restoring the quality of life in your neighborhoods (is illegal immigration really the only cause of this), reducing the number of criminal illegal aliens among you (Agree), and reducing the number of overcrowded schools that you have (agree but the undertones of this go to the larger theme of reducing immigration (including legal) population which is the main goal of Numbers USA). They need to hear from you that not only is this a wise use of public resources, but it’s something they can’t afford NOT to do (agree).
I guess here is the main point.
I would hope that a majority of people support the current initiative
Numbers USA is an anti-immigration (illegal AND legal) organization. We must be careful who we are associated with. Just like La Raza and other organizations leaving a bad taste with the other “side” we must move with caution and ask does Numbers USA actually hurt more than help?
Overall keep up the pressure, I am at my wits end with Arlington and Alexandria which have an open door policy for any and all benefits regardless of immigration status. Fairfax is planning on checking in jails our illegal rate is an alarming 16%
Good. NumbersUSA is a GREAT factual based organization.
I agree. The police should ask everyone what their legal residential status is. That way the opposition cannot say anything about it! Equal application.
I believe I would feel kind of good being asked if I was a legal resident. It would be like being carded for alcohol, I would feel like someone was doing their job to insure laws are being followed.

You still haven’t answered the question from last night: What is the difference between immigration and legal immigration. You make the same comment in your above statement.
Patriot– where does this “factual” organization get its facts? How do they know there are 3600 illegal aliens in PWC schools when the schools don’t track that information? I’m not saying I don’t believe the number, I’m just curious about their sources.
Here’s a new NumbersUSA alert.(PRINCE WILLIAM CO. ONLY)
http://www.numbersusa.com/phones?ID=8918
The Patriot,
Have you got this one yet? NumbersUSA, must be working. I missed a call from John J., I’m truly sorry I missed the call. I’m glad he did return the call. Thank you John J!!!!That’s now 4 out of 8. I’m still waiting for the other four. Well, I’m heading to the eastern end later this morning, and guess I just might have to stop by a couple of offices that are on my way.
To Bob Sentz
I think all of us would agree illegal immigration is bad (heck they call it ILLEGAL for a reason)
Now immigration is a whole different story
That’s the point I am trying to make
Numbers USA is anti-immigration (both legal and illegal)
I would assume that some that post here are propably anti-legal immigration
It is my personal opinion that being anti-legal immigration is the wrong position to take. And as I said above it is my personal opinion that Numbers USA is anti-legal immigration and ultimately there goal is to eliminate the flow of immigrants into this country.
Hope that clears it up
Numbers USA is for orderly immigration.
The idea is that WE decide who and how many we want to honor with the privilege of living and working in the USA.
nova, please show us on their website where they state that they are “anti-legal immigration” as you suggest. Additionally, reducing legal immigration to sensible numbers is not “anti-legal immigration” if that is what you are talking about. Our country only has so many resources and infrastructure. If we are not good stewards of these things it will all fall apart. If you kept packing in people into your house without being conscious of how your infrastructure and resources are impacted, your house would eventually fall apart and you would have no more resources.
NumbersUSA is not objective.
They are part of the incestous group called Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) with John Tanton a the helm and members of the Council of Conservative Citizens as regional directors.
Immigration Reform Law Institute, NumbersUSA, Center for Immigration Studies + about a dozen other ‘organizations’ etc… all = FAIR
Additionally, some of the organizations have been designated as ‘hate groups’ by Southern Poverty Law Center. More information can be found at -

To novamiddleman - Appreciate the response. However, it is my opinion that NumbersUSA is not anti-immigration, but are in favor of controlled immigration.
NumbersUSA, FAIR, Center for Immigration Studies (a spin-off from FAIR), and many similar groups all lobby for a substantial reduction in immigration *in general*. Since people on BVBL say over and over they are not against immigrants, but only people who enter this country illegally, it is a valid question.
There are also allegations of links to white supremacism in several groups that oppose both illegal aliens and favor a highly restrictionist immigration policy. I realize people here probably will dismiss anything coming from the Anti-Defamation League of the B’nai Brith or from the Southern Poverty Law Center, but both have information on this. There are comments on NumbersUSA in the first link.

aha “controlled” immigration people can take what they want on that one I wonder if there should be a “controlled” birth rate.
(yeah a little snark but its the same kind of logic IMHO)
regardless its a small agree to disagree
Agreement on the larger issue of anti-ILLEGAL immigration. The resolution is a good concept keep up the good work.
Numbers USA is anti-illegal immigration and is for legal stabilization and population control. Watch their video on poplulation growth( Gumballs) you will be amazed and understand why control on all immigration is imperative.
As the citizens of this great country we have the reponsibility to protect this Nation for our children and grandchildren.
Millions of immigrants drive down wages, the poor immigrants eat up taxpayers money and bleed Americans to death.
We need immigration but we also need control and choice, do we want 30 million from one country or do we truely want to be a melting pot and give other people from around the world a chance to live here, and America remain a nation of diversity. 30 million from one country and one race is not diversity.
I am a member of Numbers USA but I mostly work with alipac (dot) com I am for no amnesty, enforce the laws and build the fence and stop the flow.
amnesty = insanity, we have done it and it only got us where we are today. Insanity is, ( repeating the same mistakes and expecting a different ending result) you are not going to get it.
I am for controled immigration as is Numbers USA and alipac when these groups speak of stopping immigration altogether they are only speaking in of temporarily until we get this country fixed, You can not fix a problem this huge if you keep letting people in. We need to review all visa programs figure out which job industries need workers.
America has big problems and it will take commen sense people to fix it. If Numbers USA is willing to work with this town consider your self lucky these are the great American Patriots of today, infact you may consider joining and helping to put your country to rights again while there is still enough left to save for your children. The nation you, I and our forefathers new is all but gone for ever while in the care of our generation.
Americans had better wake up and demand they bring law and order back to our great nation, it is up to “We The People” .
You can also send free faxes through Numbers USA to your president and congress, alot of people from alipac and around the country use Numbers faxes service. Get involved and encourge others to, it is time for Americans to speak out.
Oh and don’t let people intimidate you with the racial slures. they use this to try to shut you up. Consider your self a “Protectionist” one who is protecting your family from crime, your towns, states and country from an illegal invasion, and be proud you are Americans.
NumbersUSA has won several awards for being both non-partisan and against illegal immigration. They also use little money for administrative costs. Their money goes to the fight to restore the rule of law to the USA. They are good people. Good reputation.
As to being Anti-legal Immigration, that is a smear and a propaganda technique to scare you away from the one group that can help your county face down LaRaza and the Puerto Rican Legal Defense Fund and Maddec and Ludlac and the Mexicana Movement and the Mexican Govt. and the ACLU and several Senators in Congress. As we currently admit more than four million people legally, through greencards, student visas, tourist visas, the NINE guestworker programs we have, the HUGE refugee Program we have………if that number continues…and each of those people, using the formula of Chain Migration, where their relatives and friends get first preference…and as most greencard holders are from Mexico….almost all of the people coming here legally are Mexican we will have another hundred million people added to our population in the next sixteen years. From 1990 until today……the USA has added One Hundred Million legal residents and they have an exploding birth rate. Vincente Fox, on television last night, said the Birth rate in Mexico is what keeps it at poverty level. Birth control is tabu in their society. Forbidden by the Church.
MY Point——–if the human tidal wave that is flooding into the USA every day of every year continues….we will have a population later than China…which is over one billion and very polluted and congested. Actually our population growth rate is higher than China’s
USA TODAY…….THEY ARE THE PROFESSIONALS. They know the law. And if groups like the Southern Poverty League brand them a Hate Group… that racist bunch has the Boy Scouts on a Hate List. The Southern Baptist Convention. They weld their Hate Lists as a weapong and generate hefty donations from doing so. They have been exposed in Harper’s Bazzar (2000), The Montgomery Advertiser won a Pulitzer Prize for exposing their “fund raising” techniques and their administrative overhead which was over 50%. The Harvard School of Jounalism also held a conference where their ‘record’ was discussed. Google it. Or use www.webcrawler.com
You are in the center of the storm. Look North to New York State where those citizens…..the ticket takers, the clerks, the street sweepers…are saying NO to their Democratic Gov. who seeks to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. Just in time for the 2008 elections.
Citizens, ordinary citizens, are fighting against the tyranny of an oppressive govt. imposing millions of illegal people here just for cheap labor. Or to fill empty church pews. Or to vote a Political party into to power…forever?
Stand Up. Fight back. It is your constitutional right. NumbersUSA is who you want at your back in a close fight. God be with you. Our thoughts and prayers go with every day.
NumbersUSA, and I don’t speak for them..their website does a fine job of that, feels we should pick who comes to the USA. That being related to someone in Mexico or a close, personal friend does not put you ahead of a gifted singer from Italy or a great cook from South Africa or a talented scientist from Tibet.
For those who haven’t seen the Immigration Gumballs video,
It’s well worth the time to watch and learn. Here’s the link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7WJeqxuOfQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zng6I74L5QY&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fteamtancredo%2Eorg%2F
GREAT Tom Tancredo video! As usual….he specifically states what he will do. No vague statements!
The gumball thing was cute but his charts are total b.s. His “red” dangerous population growth attributable to immigrants includes the descendents of immigrants who arrived post-1970. Descendents aren’t immigrants. By 2050, the great grandchildren of 1970s immigrants are included in the red portion. Are the great grandchildren of immigrants immigrants themselves? No. Are they part of the “immigration problem?” I myself am the grandchild of an immigrant who came from Ireland 60 years ago. Am I part of the “immigration problem?” If he selected 1790 for his arbitrary start date rather than 1970, I’m sure about 98% of the American population would be in the red area.
Also, in the very beginning, he talks about how our infrastructure has had to double because immigration has doubled the population growth #. Immigration may have doubled our growth (maybe, i’m not sure), but it didn’t double the entire population (which = the demand for services). The demand for roads is growing astronomically not because there are tons of new immigrants on the roads, but all of us drive much more now and over greater distances now than we did 30 years ago.
Also, as he mentioned, about 200 million Americans are missing from his chart, in a green area you’ll have to imagine below where he cuts it off. It makes his eye-popping order of magnitude a bit exaggerated.
I’m not saying that the guy is entirely wrong in what his point is. But it’s not the most convincing argument, and if you aren’t distracted by the pretty colors and cute gumballs you’ll see that it’s not at all objective and presented in a manner of exaggeration to get a reaction.
Teka10, where did you get your information to state that “almost all” the people coming to the United States *legally* are coming from Mexico? That is not the data I have found. Almost all would mean what? 90 percent? Here are figures from the Migration Policy Institute that would suggest that while Mexico is at the top, it is far from almost all. Why is it you think it is almost all?
The top twelve sending countries in 2006, by country of birth, were Mexico (173,753), People’s Republic of China (87,345), Philippines (74,607), India (61,369), Cuba (45,614), Colombia (43,151), Dominican Republic (38,069), El Salvador (31,783), Vietnam (30,695), Jamaica (24,976), South Korea (24,386), Guatemala (24,146), Other countries - 606,370.[9] In fiscal year 2006, just 202 refugees from Iraq were allowed to resettle in the United States.
In addition, you state that:
“From 1990 until today……the USA has added One Hundred Million legal residents and they have an exploding birth rate.”
Do you think you might wish to revise that figure? The 1990 US population was 248 million or round it up to 249 if you want. The estimated US population today per the census “population clock” is 303 million. Exactly how is the increase 100 million?
Are your assertions representative of the data provided by NumbersUSA?

This NAU has my attention…STILL researching….
another interesting video….NumbersUSA, speaks of this too….
Jorge Bush says, “NAU, what NAU?” Vicente Fox let the cat out of the bag, though, as he was promoting his new book.

NAU is good for South America, bad for the US and good for Canada.
When you mess with our constitution you mess with our stability as a nation for 200+ years. The greeks only survived 100+ years, because they too were arrogant enough to create an MSU. (Mediterranian Sea Union). It destroyed them because of cultural diversity and economically arrogant corporate greed by their leadership. (a lot like the current Bush Administration). Heed History!
I AM SO SORRY…I said JOSH…( I am going back and forth between threads…I MEANT Monticup..sorry
Michael, check out the history books. The Greek civilization is just a tad bit more than 100+ years.
I am certainly not endorsing NAU but lets not compare ancient civilizations to modern times.
Some of you liberal types that think multiculturalism is a good thing…..give me proof of a civilization that did NOT crumble due to diversity. I will be eagerly awaiting your answer. Thank you.
Patriot, define diversity please. The topic needs to be narrowed since I am not sure you and I mean the same thing when we say ‘diversity.’
Come on dolph….the diversity associated with the multiculturalism concept. Quit playing games!
Well, certainly a welcome mat has never been extended to immigrants, that’s for sure. There were concerns when the Germans arrived that they would not assimilate. The Irish were confronted with signs reading, “Irish need not apply”. The Japanese ended up in internment camps during World War II. There seems to be a general distrust of immigrant groups but thus far our country has remained strong. The implications that somehow our society will collapse are unjustified.
[…] the rest of this great post here […]
Hey compassion…you know why the Germans in particular assimilated? Because they were told NO when they wanted everything in their language! Therefore, they knew in order to get ahead they needed to learn English! Know your facts!
In addition, CC, one of my uncles, a WWII vet, married a young lady of Japanese ancestry in 1948. Members of her family were interned during the war, and most were not angry at the U.S. but at Japan for having attacked the U.S..
I find it odd that you fail to mention the Americans of German as well as Italian ancestry who also found themselves interned during WWII.
Greek civilization yes, greater than 100+ years. Greek Democracy no. The number is at most 150 some years. I will find you the exact number and post it.
Dolph,
Technically Greek Democracy began in 508 BC with the Athenian Consitition. Democracy which included the poor started in 460 BC. It ended in 322 BC when Macedon terminated it.
That is 138 years of true Democracy (except Greek slaves), and 216 years of Constitutional Democracy. Go read your history book. We keep this facist focus on group advocacy priviliges that create supremist groups aligned along gender, religious, racial and ethnic lines and our Democracy won’t last much longer than that.
