Jeanette Rishell Is Hiding Her True Agenda

By Greg L | 18 October 2007 | Jeanette Rishell | 8 Comments

The “Immigration & Human Rights Law Group” is going to be providing free consultations for illegal aliens at — you guessed it — the Bull Run Unitarian Universalist Church this evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  This is the church where Jeanette Rishell as a leader of the “Social Justice Committee” conducted a “split the collection plate” fundraiser for the benefit of Mexicans Without Borders in 2005, and where on August 9th a “support and solidarity organizing meeting” was held for Mexicans Without Borders.  At the same time that Jeanette Rishell is talking about how she’s going to get tough on illegal aliens, she’s financially supporting an organization that regularly puts their resources at the disposal of a radical group that advocates on the behalf of illegal aliens.

In last year’s campaign, Jeanette Rishell didn’t send out a single piece of mail that mentioned illegal aliens.  She opposed enrolling the Commonwealth in the Section 287(g) Program, wanted to allow illegal aliens to obtain in-state tuition in our universities, and even supported having day laborer centers in the county.  She acknowledged proving support for “undocumented workers”, and last year she even managed to spout a little Marxist rhetoric for good measure.

Now she’s doing everything she can to distract voters from the campaign positions she advocated only one year ago, which included her strong opposition to the Marriage Amendment.  At another event at BRUU last August, Jeanette Rishell  was a featured speaker at an event sponsored by “Equality Prince William”, along with Bruce Roemmelt and Earnie Porta.

Jeanette Rishell’s public positions are vastly at odds with her continuing dedication to illegal alien apologist and gay “marriage” advocating organizations, and represent a stunning about-face from positions she firmly held only one year ago.  This is not a candidate you can trust by any means.

Let’s get ICE over there so they can act as “ushers.”

Don’t mess with the Unitarians. I hear that if you piss them off, they burn a big question mark in your lawn.

Ok, she is for, in HER words, mind you, “progressive taxation.” THAT ALONE should get her off the ballot. Where were the libs screaming “Separation of Church and State???”

I was kinda wondering: why doesn’t ICE go to things like this (and Tuesday’s BOCS meeting) and start enforcing the law? My guess Tuesday’s BOCS meeting was a “target-rich environment.”

As for the Unitarians, I tried clicking on their “What We Believe” link, but the page would never load.

Buzz words / code words — “Marxist”, “Mexicans Without Borders”, “illegal alien”, “gay marriage.”

Not that you care, but the position of the Unitarian Church on immigration is pretty much the same as that of the Catholic Church. Wny don’t you go to the Catholic Churches when they do mass in Spanish, that would be a target rich environement. You crackpots really want a police state. Teachers who disagree with you should be fired. Speakers who disagree with you at a meeting should be investiaged by ICE. So, if you blame Jeanette for supporting a church that is doing things for immigrants, you ought to go after Bob Marshall for his weekly support of All Saints, which contributes funds to the Arlington Diocese, which has an array of activities to support immigrants that would dwarf anything that BRUU does. But, somehow I don’t think that sort of consistency intersts you. Too much fun planning a police state when you can all get back at your enemies.

There’s a big difference between ministering to the spiritual needs of all of God’s people, and advocating for lawbreaking and sponsoring solidarity rallies with lawbreakers. The first is clearly within the mission of the church. The second is a violation not only of several messages in the Bible, but it puts in jeopardy the tax-exempt status that religious organizations generally enjoy.

I have bitterly protested some of the actions that the Catholic Diocese of Arlington have taken in support of illegal aliens, and will continue to do so, but at least they’ve been responsive to criticism and will no longer be allowing Mexicans Without Borders to use their facilities.

Only someone who has never spent much time in a church would fail to grasp the fundamental distinction between ministering to the spiritual needs of all sinners, and providing material support for the commission of sins.
