More Radical Islam Connections To Governor Kaine

In the photo above, Governor Tim Kaine is pictured at a private reception prior to the 2007 Muslim American Society annual dinner at which he was the keynote speaker. Muslim American Society President Dr. Esam Omeish was recently forced to resign from the Virginia Commission on Immigration to which the Governor had appointed him after an internet video surfaced showing Omeish supporting jihad in Palestine. To the Governor’s immediate right in the photo taken at this private reception is Mahdi Bray, Executive Director of the Muslim American Society’s Freedom Foundation. If you thought Esam Omeish was a disturbing character, Mahdi Bray makes this guy look positively benign.
The following video recorded by the Investigative Project on Terrorism shows Mahdi Bray supporting terrorist organization Hamas and Hezbollah. These groups have sponsored suicide bombers and rockets attacks to kill innocent civilians in Israel. Hezbollah is also linked to the hijacking of TWA flight 847, the 1983 U.S. embassy bombing in Beruit and the murder of 241 American servicemen and women in a suicide bombing at their barracks in Beruit, Lebanon. These facts, as well as the fact that Hamas and Hezbollah has been officially designated as terrorist organizations by the U.S. State Department, apparently did not stop Bray from publicly praising them:
In a recent interview given just days before the Omeish resignation, Bray touted his organizations ability to turn out new voters on behalf of Virginia’s Democratic candidates. He claimed responsibility for recent Democratic gains which were based on a well-orchestrated voter identification and recruitment drive. Bray was quoted in an October 1, 2007 Washington Times story as follows:
“Ask Jim Webb what kind of impact we have. Ask the governor of Virginia what kind of impact we have,” Mahdi Bray, the Muslim American Society’s executive director told The Washington Times last week.
The Muslim American Society (MAS) claims credit for helping Jim Webb, Virginia Democrat, defeat incumbent Republican Sen. George Allen in 2006, and Democrat Tim Kaine defeat Republican Jerry W. Kilgore in 2005. MAS said it has registered 65,000 voters in Virginia since the 2005 gubernatorial race, and most of them backed Mr. Webb in a race decided by fewer than 8,000 votes.
“The Democrat’s win hinged on the Muslim vote,” Mr. Bray said during interviews Tuesday and Wednesday about the organization’s political activities planned for upcoming elections in November and the 2008 presidential race.
Furthermore, in this newly released video of Muslim American Society President Dr. Esam Omeish, also captured by the Investigative Project on Terrorism, Omeish is shown speaking at an anti-Israel rally in front of the Israeli embassy. Omeish “congratulates” suicide bombers who have carried out attacks against innocent civilians.
Omeish: “And more than this, we need to congratulate our brothers and sisters in Filastin (Palestine) for their bravery, for their giving up their lives for the sake of Allah and for the sake of Al-Aqsa. They have spearheaded the effort to bring victory upon the believers in Filastin, insha’allah. They are spearing the effort to free the land of Filastin, all of Palestine, for the Muslims and for all the believing people in Allah.”
Delegate Todd Gilbert, who has been leading the effort to bring attention to this disturbing connection between Virginia Democrats and radical Islamists, is pretty outraged about this.
“It is clear to me that the leadership of the Virginia Democratic Party has compromised the best interests of the citizens of Virginia by cozying up to organizations and individuals that have radical agendas. I am appalled by the utter lack of judgment that Democrats at the highest levels have shown in joining forces with a radical element of the Muslim faith for the sole purpose of filling the ballot box.”
Fellow Delegate Clay Athey is none too pleased either.
“Based upon our investigation, it is clear that Governor Kaine and the Democratic Party sought the support of radical individuals who could turn out votes in his election. According to Mahdi Bray, the governor received that support. Next week, the Governor and Secretary Hanley have the opportunity to reveal what was promised to the Muslim American Society in return for their support and whether Omeish’s appointment to the Virginia Commission on Immigration was part of the pay off. Our FOIA request to Secretary Hanley and Governor Kaine gives them an opportunity to either disclose Democratic ties to the Muslim American Society or to engage in a cover-up. For the sake of all Virginians, I hope they come clean so we can reform the Governor’s flawed process which led to this appointment.”
I already got back a non-response on my FOIA request, and the Governor is definitely trying to hide what happened with the Omeish appointment. If we’re going to have any confidence in what the Governor is doing, he’s got to tell us what’s going on here.

So who has more connections - Kaine or Stewart?
I wonder what Delgates Gilbert and Athey have to say about the 51st Republican candidate, Faisal Gill, just for the sake of consistency???
Absolutely, John, I wonder too.
As I just heard this morning, should either Corey Stewart or Jay O’brien should lose, it won’t be because of because of their Democrat opponents Sharon Pandak and it won’t be because of George Barker. The Republican party will have only one person to thank — Faisal Gill!! Well, let’s make it two people to thank…for a moment (but only a moment) I forgot about Mr Tom Kopko.
Please get over the Faisal Stewart connection destruction obsession. I don’t like Faisal either. Frankly he scares the heck out of me, but Stewart is not going to go down because of his support of Faisal. Average Jane and Joe Voters in the rest of the county don’t know who the heck Faisal is nor do they care (although they should). But Average Jane and Joe Voter do know about Stewart’s fight against illegal immigration. That adds up to victory.
The political hacks may hold this against Stewart but they are few and far between. Stewart will reelected. Principi will win Woodbridge; Faisal will lose the 51st. Colgan will win as well as the shoe-ins of Marshall,Miller and Frederick (and Stirrup and May).
I can live with that.
“Stewart will reelected.”
Hmm. I wouldn’t count on that.
I really don’t know why you’re so hard on the Gov…look at what Tom Kopko and the gang did for the Republican party in the 51st District. They GAVE the seat away…knowing full well what they were doing!!
Gov Timmy owes all Virginian’s an apology for this idiotic stunt.
stop spreading hate and being irresponsible, bad mouthing the governor because he has an open mind and knows that Virginia will flourish be its diversity and multi-cultural population. It is a great state - let’s keep it as such and stop the hate!
