Gov. Kaine To Announce Jackson Miller Endorsement

By Greg L | 20 October 2007 | 50th HOD District | 19 Comments

I guess Governor Kaine’s endorsement of Delegate Jackson Miller should be coming in any day now, since he’s already stressing that the General Assembly needs representatives that have public safety experience.  Since Jackson Miller is the only actively serving Police Officer in the House of Delegates, the following probably should go double for him:

Joe and Bobby understand the public safety and security challenges facing the Commonwealth, because they’ve seen it every day,” Kaine said Saturday during a campaign event at the Virginia Beach Democratic Headquarters. “They will come to Richmond with the kind of public safety experience that Republicans, Democrats and Independents will all rely on.”

I know Governor Kaine is going to be consistent here and endorse Jackson Miller as well.  I can just feel it.

One difference. Jackson Miller got an A from the NRA. Bobby Mathieson got a big ol’ F. Maybe Kaine only endorses those with public safety experience who oppose the second amendment.

Is Jackson activly serving? I thought he went part time and then full time into real estate. Greg said “I can just feel it.” And I thought for sure he had no feelings at all.

    What made you think that?

If Kaine has radical Islam connections, would Jackson Miller want his endorsement?

It’s not just Kaine, redawn, with connections to radical/mainstream Islam.

    Don’t hate,
Jackson is serving as a part-time officer. He works my neighborhood, and gets the stolen cars towed off our streets, and hauled of the pimp, the prostitute, and the “John” to jail. This happened at a house that squatters had been living in two months after it had been foreclosed on. Jackson serves us in WestGate/Sudley in both capacities, and serves us WELL.

Wow. Why don’t you guys nominate him for some kind of award then, like the Nobel Peace Prize, or something.

    John Light,

Go back to the thread where you won the caption contest for the picture with Rishell, Greg and Kaine. Back around July 20th.

I ask why now would he support Miller, look at all the stickers he was wearing that day. Help me out……I am only asking to learn, NOT being a smart butt or anything.

    redawn,
Gov. Kaine should endorse a Statewide 287(g) Program, first and foremost. Interesting points you’ve made. I hope you get some answers.

but redawn, we ALL like your butt!!!

Seriously, wish I could answer that one but you know, truth is stranger than fiction some times. There are just SOME things that you don’t play around with and maybe Citizen Kaine, um, Gov. K realizes that and hence is now support for Jackson. Then again, I think Greg’s article is more of speculation than fact.

Peace - we would, but the Nobel Peace Prize has been politicized by the pro-Marxists types as of late so it has become pretty much of a joke. Jimmy Carter, Al Gore (and his sky is falling crackpot “science”).

    John & Lafayette,

I Governor Kaine doesn’t want to be asked to leave the democratic party so I suppose it wont happen in this election cycle :)

Governor Timmy’s! endorsement would lose votes for Jackson.

Hey Jimmy…….do you think Corey Stewart rectruiting Gary Friedman (Liberal Democrat) as a paid employee in the Chairman’s office and on the Planning Commission will lose him Republican votes?

I can think of many better suited and qualified Republicans…including you and Mom!

If Mr. Miller serves as a paid police officer either part-time or full time it would seem to me that he would have to abstain from voting for any legislation regarding law enforcement

Definition: A conflict of interest is a situation in which someone in a position of trust, such as a lawyer, insurance adjuster, a politician, executive or director of a corporation or a medical research scientist or physician, has competing professional or personal interests. Such competing interests can make it difficult to fulfill his or her duties impartially. A conflict of interest exists even if no unethical or improper act results from it. A conflict of interest can create an appearance of impropriety that can undermine confidence in the person, profession, or court system. A conflict can be mitigated by third party verification or third party evaluation noted below—but it still exists.

When he was on the Manassas City Council he was in real estate. It seems he would have violated any vote that had to do with development of real estate property. I believed he did cast votes for those residential building plans that were considered by the City Council.

    FHL,

Give me a break. The several educators in the general assembly regularly vote on education issues. I believe a couple of them even sit on the education committee.

Your ill-conceived logic would would have lawyers in the general assembly (the most prominent occupation in our legislature) not voting on “laws”.
