Nominations are due November 30. The application says: "Candidates for the Human Rights Awards must be Prince William County residents. The Awards honor outstanding contributions that have promoted the equality for all people in Prince William County, demonstrated by leadership and excellence in any field, in either a paid or unpaid capacity. Candidates whose effectiveness and courage have advanced the cause of equality for all people of all ages in significant and substantial ways that have enriched our community will be considered. For example, they may have identified needs for change and found innovative solutions in sectors relating to all people; lobbied for groups and services; initiated public education and information activities; or through their lives, made outstanding creative achievements or otherwise advanced equality for all people." I don't know of anyone else, other than perhaps John Stirrup or Corey Stewart, who has done more to ensure that our laws are applied equally "for all people in Prince William County" or who has "identified needs for change and found innovative solutions in sectors relating to all people; lobbied for groups and services; initiated public education and information activities; or through their lives, made outstanding creative achievements or otherwise advanced equality for all people." I bet many of these companies do not allow their employees to say "Merry Christmas" or to host Christmas parties" to avoid offending any. Yet, they do not see a problem supporting these criminals.
