Calling people who have legitimate concerns regarding illegal aliens racists, bigots, xenophobes or nativists is not an argument. It is slander.

What you imply by calling us racists is that: In order for us to prove and attain non-racist status, we must allow illegal aliens to act with impunity.

Just because one can speak a foreign language, does not mean that they are an illegal immigrant. I know of many western europeans who are here illegaly, but they do not get the same amount of harrasment as the Salvadorains or Hondurans who are here legally.

Is illegal immgration a problem - Yes it is. But - how do you fix it? Reagan brought in Amnesty. Bush has floated Amnesty earlier this year, Fitzsimmons has towed the party line, and has promoted Amnesty himself. Does this fix it? I do not know. What I do know is that the immigration issue is very emotional for most of us - there are those that like it, like some small business owners, because it gives them a pool of un skilled cheap labor that does not mind doing manual labor. There are those that like to take advantage of those people. And then there are those that do not like the immigrant - legal or not, because of some feelign that the immigrant is taking something away that rightly belongs to them.

Someone decided that immigration will be the differentiator. I for one, do not think that immigration reform on the state level should be the differentiator.

So if you take that out of the way (Chuck is Anti Illegal Immigration, by the way), then what is different - really not much, other than the fact that Chuck Colgan has seniority, and has a good record. What does Bob have - oh, I worked for my boss ken, did what I was told, and am taking credit for what Ken did in the Senate.

Who failed us on the illegal immigration front - why none other than our Federal Senate Members - While George Allen spoke about immigration, his actions are what really hurt us here in Virginia. Just like above, don’t like the immigrant, until it is helpful, like hiring a nanny, or gardner.

No matter which way this election goes, I am going to be laughing my butt off, next year, when Rudy is your nominee - who are you going to vote for, Rudy the mayor that made NYC a santuary city for illegal immigrants, supports guest workers (illegal immigrant with paper work), handed out condoms, supports pro-choice, married his own cousin (thrice married), banned guns, partners with a person with mafia ties.
