The real problem is those who are here got over the border illegally or overstayed their visa's. NOW they are scared and are trying desperately to do what is right, while still remaining here. The only way out for most is legal marriage with a legal resident (who most likely also came in the country illegally initially and found a legal way to get sponsorship, like employer sponsorship for a green card. What a mess! The penalties for false pretenses for marriage are high and sponsorship carries a 10 year support obligation. No one in their right mind should marry just for a green card but it happens all the time and the support obligations don't hit them until the divorce 3 years later an a big lawsuit comes at them. Beware all you young guys or gals who thinnk marrying an "illegal" is a good idea. Beware employers who get lawsuits of support after firing an employee who decides not to get another job. You still have the burden of support for 10 years. A stupid law passed by congress, but on the books to create misery for sponsers and bonus benefits for "illegals". I really feel these green cards should be rescinded. Someday maybe congress will pass this as the population gets large enough to destroy what is left of our political ethics and cultural way of life as "illegals" replace it with their own. Make no bones about it, "illegals" will vote ONLY their own people into power and that is going to upset a LOT of communities who never thought such fascists concepts could happen in America.

Nothing Dolph...I agree with what you're saying. I would think that this woman should receive AT LEAST the consideration received by Salvadorans in this country for these many years by virtue of a disaster long gone by. She was just an easy target because she TRIED to do things the right way when those who scamper over the border keep getting a free ride. This really is not right!

COM,

Nooooo, it doesn't mean that. Where did that come from?

All I have heard here is people saying come in this country the right way. I am beginning to think that this statement is a bit disengenuous.

What is this woman doing wrong?

Dolph,

Does that mean any family member of a soldier who breaks the law should get off just based on the fact their relative is a soldier? Or, should that rule only apply to illegals?

The legal number was repeated several times on radio/television over the past few weeks. I think it includes guest workers (allowed legally).
Here's one article which puts numbers in perspective - http://www.thesocialcontract.com/artman2/publish/tsc_17_4/tsc_17_4_rubenstein.shtml

The young woman in the video is doing everything the right way. She isn't trying to make up her own rules. I beg to differ. She is going along with the system and the system is screwing her.

She had no control over where she was taken as a child. Her husband is a US citizen who has served 4 tours of duty in Iraq. What a shameful way for this country to treat our servicemen.

It looks like our immigration officers have real elephant balls. NOT. They bust those who are go in voluntarily to apply correctly, with citizen spouses. Yet they are apparently afraid of the trash who violate our laws on a daily basis.

I find it interesting that someone who is trying to do things the right way is still criticized. Amazing! I wholeheartedly support Careless Whisper.

COM, we all know that you are a paragon of virtue, that you have never broken any law (except perhaps a speed limit, very slightly), but certainly not any other law now or previously on the books in Virginia. Not one sip, not one illicit tangle of limbs, nothing, nada. I know that even Cotton Mather would feel anxious in contemplating your virtue. We would all do well to emulate you.

However, the error of fact I was referring to didn't have anything to do with illegal aliens, their criminality, or your total lack there of. Sorry.

Patriot, the issue in my question to Legal2 was the number of legal immigrants admitted annually, which he/she said was 2 million. It was not a question about the illegal population.

Leila,

Sorry you missed again. You have consistently defended illegals. You support criminals, I do not. That hardly makes me the one that is always incorrect.

Though, I do like how you again avoid answering the questions. I have to hand it to y'all who defend criminals, you will go down looking like fools rather than to admit y'all are wrong.

Leila, the bottom line.........there are too many! Period! Additionally, there are probably millions of legal residents who are aiding and abetting (which is a FELONY)! These people should be thrown in jail. Hopefully, our reporting will start making that happen!

Legal2, I am curious where you get your figure of 2 million legal immigrants per year. Looking at figures from a wide variety of sources, I am not seeing anything close to that. For example, the Heritage Foundation says close to 1 million, FAIR has just over that, as does NumbersUSA, and one million, give or take a couple of hundred thousand, seems to be the standard in several other sources I found. Where are you getting the two million figure? I assume you mean actual immigrants processed to live here, not visitors.

Redawn, thanks for the link @ 10:52, 11/2. This young woman's mind has a flicker of reason. At least it's a start, but she needs to think a little farther. First, it is presumptuous for anyone to come here illegally in whatever way they want, making up their own rules to "get themselves legalized." Go home; start over by applying legally. True, it is difficult; not everyone will get in. That's how regulated immigration works. The USA takes in 2M immigrants legally every year, more than all other countries combined.

She could also get a better idea of what we deal with if she used the analogy of the 12 men moving into her apartment (instead of next door). They could even pay a little for being there. They could even be fine, upstanding people. They could be any color or nationality or profession. But they would be using her sofa and hanging around all day and they would even be the type to use the bathroom. Maybe they could even do a little housework for her. Great! But they aren't invited; there is only so much room. In fact sometimes, the bathroom is so crowded that 1 of them (only 1!) must urinate in the corner of the dining room. Does she find out who only the worst culprit is and "deport" him?

To add to my post at 10:34,

The reason I was asked by a friend to post the above video, was brought up by a follow up video I discovered this evening.
,
The girl in the video was not speaking of PWC....it was something that I came across in my research...here is a video I found tonight that sparked a conversation I had with a friend and why it was requested that I repost that video above......

It is just interesting.....

The reason I was asked by a friend to post the above video, was brought up by a follow up video I discovered this evening.
,
The girl in the video was not speaking of PWC….it was something that I came across in my research…here is a video I found tonight that sparked a conversation I had with a friend and why it was requested that I repost that video above……

It is just interesting…..
