Shocker, Rishell has signs placed illegally on public property throughout the city of Manassas.
Colgan has large electric trailer signs placed on public property, I understand VDOT has already taken one down
FIRST–Ok third, but I was first to vote at Potomac Library! Everything went fine, poll workers were knowledgeable, and no hooligans outside.
PW,
He had one of those signs at the corner of 28 and Linton Hall/Bristow Road for several days before it got moved further down toward Manassas.
My wife and I were Nos 8 and 9 at Nokesville. Nobody was there handing out lit when we got there @ 6
My family and I just got back from voting. I didn’t have any problems with the voting machine, but my other family members did. Two had problems with the “A” when writing in Ham Sandwich. They had to go a little to the left (I believe) to get the “A” to show up. My daughter said that she hit one of the candidates and it went to write in. She said she had to hit a little higher for it to register the candidate of her choice. It was dark and rainy, not many people at polls this early. No line. No demonstrators or people with signs on the road. This is in Jenkins district.
Oh, 3 people were there handing out lit, when we were there. Two were for Independents. One was for a sample ballot.
I was #37 at my polling place. The poll worker required me to show an ID. No demonstrators, everything normal. Light rain and not crowded.
ALERT ALERT ALERT
A MEMBER OF MEXICANS WITHOUT BORDERS IS AT THE STONEWALL MIDDLE SCHOOL VOTING POLL. THE MAN WHO OWNS THE FREEDOM SIGN IS THERE. HE WAS DROPPED OFF BY A VAN THAT SAYS STOP STIRRUP. LOOKS LIKE THE VAN IS DROPPING OFF MEMBERS OF MEXICANS WITHOUT BORDERS AT THE VARIOUS POLLS.
ATTENTION HELP SAVE MANASSAS AND HELP SAVE MANSSAS SUPPORTERS: YOU NEED TO GET TO THE POLLS AND VOTE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE IN SUDLEY, SINCLAIR AND WESTGATE. ALL OF YOU WHO VOTE AT STONEWALL MIDDLE, GET OUT AND VOTE. THIS IS IMPERATIVE. LOOKS LIKE THE BATTLE WITH MEXICANS WITHOUT BORDERS HAS BEGUN!
GET OUT AND VOTE.
AS MY FRIEND SAYS: “NO GUTS NO GLORY”
My husband just voted at Jennie Dean at 7:20 and he was #107
I was there at 5:50 to cast my vote at the MP community center in the ‘lovely’ park. Only about 20 people there and I was #4 in line. Didn’t have the heart to vote for ham sandwich so I put ‘anyone else’ in the write in field. I figured I would show the guy a little respect at least as a fellow human being. No signs of MWB there from what I could tell. Probably because they already know the park belongs to them so they aren’t worried about it since the mayor and city council are already in their pocket. They DID ask me for my driver’s license this time. God bless America. I’m not sure if my vote counts or if they hack those machines and they are not to be trusted, but at least we all have the ability to act like democracy still works.
Stonewall Middle had 91 votes cast by 7 am.
Just voted in the DPRA (Democratic People’s Republic of Arlington). Right in, right out, 57th voter at 0735. Local political commissars said “off year, morning rain” to explain low numbers of proles showing up for the Two Minute Hate. Voted for every Republican I could find (Grand Total =3). Aaaahhhhh, Comrades! Please don’t send me back to the re-education camp!!!!!
Did the Right Thing @ 6:40 am. Not crowded, no waiting. Touch screen seemed to function until I voted for Clerk of Court. It would not register a check mark. On 4th attempt, it automatically checked Lucy Beauchamp (whom I did NOT vote for) and all other names dropped off screen - weird, but with my luck it figures. Called for help and was instructed to touch the lucy vote again to clear. Hope it all worked. Hope everyone pays attention when they vote.
Above, @ Bennett Elementary, Brentsville District.
usmapiper, did the commissars ask for your ID? And was everyone else asked for ID who hasn’t specified that in their post?
I was asked for an ID.
I was asked for an ID. They always do that in my precinct of the DPRA.
I have heard that several machines don’t put up the name you push, so you have to double check. This is ridiculous, maybe we need to go back to paper ballots.
My sign for Chris Royse was gone this AM. It’s been there a month and now it is gone. I wonder who?? I bet it wasn’t the democrat.
I helped Jackson out at Deane, and the there was a steady turnout from 6 until 8. My wife voted at Baldwin and said she was voter 33 at 7:30.
Just got back from Stonewall Middle. 161 voted by 8:00 am.
I didn’t see the guy who owns the sign in the City but I saw a Mexican Without Borders supporter’s van that said Goodbye Stirrup.
The question for now is: Where is John Steinbach? Chances are he will vote at Parkside. Keep a look out for the illegal ballots. If you see someone passing them out, report it immediately.
The battle has started.
ALERT: All Help Save Manassas members and supporters, get out and VOTE. We need a big turn out. Don’t let Mexicans Without Borders hijack our election. GO VOTE!!!
MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR ID. THEY ARE CHECKING IDS.
GO VOTE!!!!
Mellow day over at the Government Center over by Bull Run around 7:45. No activists, tons of Colgan signs. Voted for your boy Ham Sandwich.
Patty,
You appear to be so surprised they are checking IDs. Why is that?
You shouldn’t need your ID to vote. What have I missed?
I’m voting tonight after work…let’s give the MSF pukes and all those illegal alien apologists a total old-school beat down! I dont want to see a close call on any of the important races, I want to see a total blowout. That will make a serious statement
PWC has asked for IDs for several election cycles. It doesn’t bother me at all. Keeps everyone honest.
Just voted at Victory Elem. No problems, no demonstrators but Colgan’s brother is there shaking hands.
Yeah, I know they ask for ID and I’m fine with it too, but you don’t *need* an ID. As long as you’ve voted before you should be able to sign an affidavit that indicates your identity. Anyway, it’s a moot point, I’m just saying that most of us don’t *need* and ID to vote.
Not having an ID just slows things down. Why be a contrarian? Just bring your ID and move things along.
Photo IDs checked in Weems district, as it should be.
ATTENTION:
Anyone wishing to volunteer today to help the Jackson campaign in PWC should call Corry at 703-244-6172. He’ll let you know where you can help.
Thanks.
Voted around 6:45 at Stonewall Middle. #42.
I also got 2 people to vote whom normally don’t.
I too want to see a blowout. Send a message people and get out and VOTE! Take back your community! No excuses for apathy!
Dolph. I am not being a contrarian.
I live in Manassas Park and will vote after work. Can anyone tell me how to cast a write in vote on the elctronic machines?
My wife and I voted at Westgate elementary, it was quiet, but we were 103-104 which is pretty good by 8:00 am, for an off year. There was a some one standing there with a sign for assistance in Spanish outside of the polling place.
JM, if I remember correctly, the machine will prompt you when you check “Write in” for the office. There should be a “Write in” option for each of the offices.
I just came from Metz Middle at 9 AM and there were 278 voters so far and more coming in.
I wrote in Ham Sandwich - it was easy. Just select “write-in” and a keyboard will appear on the screen and you simply type it in. Very easy.
There was a line at Jennie Dean at 6:00 AM and there was a steady flow until 8:45 when I left. No shinanigans to report.
Just voted at Metz Middle School - Manassas City. Light turnout. Only one guy in front of me. I had to give my name, address and show my Driver’S License.
Mrs. Fitzsimmonds was outside supporting her husband. No demonstrators. Everything went smoothly.
I voted at Potomac precinct around 6:10 and was number 10 in in my registrar’s book (3 books on the table). Wrote in Ham, my oldest son for Senate against Puller, and my youngest for School Board against Covington.
What ever happened to having a choice? No choice for Supervisor, Chair of School Board, School Board, CA, or Soil/Water. This is pathetic.
I live in the city of Manassas. There are a lot of Fitzsimmons signs in my neighborhood, and in other neighborhoods in the city. It is true that Colgan signs predominate in Old Town (which I walk home through every day after taking the VRE), but the rest of the city seems to favor Fitzsimmons. In Old Town it is often Colgan and Miller, with a real mix on who is supported for clerk. In the rest of the city it is usually Fitzsimmons and Miller, or Colgan and Rishell. Again very mixed on who people support for clerk of court, except that if there is a Rishell sign, then usually a Ryland sign. I have to say, I know a lot of voters who do not put signs in their yards. People who do put signs in their yards almost always vote for who the signs are.
No lines at Weems, but a voters are coming through in a steady trickle. Approximately 200 voters had voted at Weems by 9:20. The level of discussion that has accompanied the senate race is unwarranted. I have met both of the candidates and talked to them over the years and both of the candidates are fine gentlemen. The personal attacks against both are unfounded. The discussion should have been about issues (taxes, funding transportation, immigration, in-state tuition for immigrants, asking motor voter registrants if they are citizens of USA, pro-life/pro-choice) and not based on gratutious personal attacks (which should not even be repeated). Anyone who thinks that either of these men lacks good character is very mistaken, and both should be thanked for running the race.
There were no lines at the Hayden School-Manassas City at 10:00. No demonstrators. Jackson Miller was outside. They split the alphabet among two registrars, so a count of voters was not available.
Reporting for your next-door neighbors in the Fairfax Braddock District, there was no line at my poll at 7:45. A few folks passing out literature, but I was in a rush so I didn’t speak with anybody. I’m frightened that in my neck of the woods, too many people will vote for Oleszek without ever hearing her struggle to complete a full sentence.
Talked to some folks in Vienna, too, where hopefully Chap is putting a whooping on Hillary Devil-Davis.
I find it strange that several of you will joke about voting by writing in Ham Sandwich. What do you gain by that action?
And, Matt, what’s your reason (excuse)?
What happens if ham sandwich pulls it off? Does Ebert win by default since ham sandwich is inanimate or does he have to step down?
Matt, sorry I didn’t get to say “Hi” to you this morning at Potomac. I saw you go in, but didn’t see you come out. Thanks for voting for Ham, too.
Krutis, obviously you have not been paying close attention to Mr. Sandwich’s campaign. He has a campaign website, an independent blog (Raising Ham) that supports him, a campaign commercial on YouTube, an original campaign theme song, and he did a live blog earlier this year at The Daily Whackjob.
Yes, Krutis, Ham campaigned harder for this office than the incumbent, Paul Ebert. And Ham can do the job just as well as the incumbent. THAT is no joke…
No, Ebert would NOT win by default if he doesn’t get the most votes. If Ham is unable to take office, then someone other than Mr. Ebert will have to finish the term.
At Potomac Precinct in PWC this morning, there were no Democrat poll workers outside. This is the first time in 7 years that has been the case. I worked for the GOP from 6-8, plus there were 3 volunteers for Del. Frederick and 1 for Supervisor Caddigan (who is unopposed.) No Dem lit was present at all. There were some Dem yard signs, but that was it. Many more GOP signs.
The Caddigan volunteer usually works the polls for the Dems (nice guy whom I’ve gotten to know over the years standing side by side with him). He said he called over to the Pandak campaign to say he’d help out, but they never got back to him.
A neighbor of mine reported that he was the 150th voter at 8:15 am in this precinct.
Just voted at Stonewall Middle. Cast a vote for Ham Sandwich, easy like mcr says above.
I’ve ALWAYS been asked for ID at EVERY election - in Arlington and in PW Co.
I too hope it’s a huge blow out to show our elected leaders that we mean business on this issue!
Last election the line at Stonewall Middle went around the entire gym and out the door after dinner time.
(Colgan had one of those huge VDOT-like signs at the corner of 28 and Compton Road yesterday).

LMAO - great post. I voted in Springfield (Orange Hunt Elementary) and was asked for my ID
My guess is that you came in to vote in a suit, short hair, conservative dress. Maybe if you had worn your kilt you could have gotten away with less stares from the Nomenklatura

I voted at Sinclair (Gainesville District) about 9:15am. I was voter 101 or something along those lines. Didn’t really see anything in particular out of the usual except all those Rishell and Pandak signs all over the medians on Williamson and Sudley Manor.
If you’re writing in a candidate, it’s pretty straightforward. You just click that section and it prompts you to a keyboard.
Oh and one other thing. I was asked for an ID the last couple times I voted. When I used to vote at Stonewall Middle I usually knew one of the poll workers (who worked the polls back when that voting district was at Sudley Elementary… but that was before I was old enough to vote… I’m currently 25) so I didn’t really have to have ID then… but I think I’ve always been asked for an ID ever since I started voting.
And I nearly didn’t know what happened to my ID… but thankfully I found it.
Is there a website that reflects vote results throughout the day as precincts report?

Thanks for the update!
REMINDER!
Anyone wishing to volunteer today to help the Jackson campaign in PWC should call Corry at 703-244-6172. He’ll let you know where you can help.
Thanks.
Freedom — there are no returns available until after 7 p.m. Any exit polls anyone is conducting would be the only thing before then, but I think they are pretty useless anyway.
The State Board of Elections will have vote totals tonight and I believe PWC’s website will as well. Not Not Jay Hughes of Virtucon will be handling our election night coverage over there with analysis and projections on key races around the state.
I still don’t understand how any responsible voter would vote for a “thing”, no matter how delicious. What do you expect will happen should the “thing” win? I think it goes against the conscience of any person who takes his right to vote seriously.
It’s no joking matter, IMO.
Krutis,
as an american you can vote for whomever the hell you want….nothing said you have to be serious about it. I wrote in myself for president last time…I didnt like any candidate but I wasnt about to trash my right to vote because of that.
I can joke around all I want, I’ll vote ham sandwhich or maybe even turkey if I want…
It’s all about exercising the right, not who you vote for in my opinion.
Krutis,
People are not voting for Ham Sandwish because it is delicious. They are voting for Ham Sandwich as a protest. They are not happy that Ebert has used his office to protect his political pals and paramours and harrass their political rivals. Because he is running unopposed, they cannot vote in someone they want, so they are uniting behind this protest.
What they gain is having their voice heard by letting Ebert know that he is unacceptable to them. If they are REALLY successful and Ham Sandwich wins a majority, then Ebert is out of a job, and the county will need to appoint someone else to fill the office.
Admittedly, Ham Sandwich is a long shot, but voters don’t have to choose who they think will win, they are free to choose whomever (or whatever) they want.
One poster mentioned a computer problem when
trying to vote for Clerk of the Court - I had difficulity
on that at Metz in Manassas City. Had to touch
the screen five times for the vote to register correctly –
every other area just took once.
I voted before 9:30 at Nokesville Elementary. I was in the early 200s, and no one was there, I walked right up to a ballot booth.
As I was leaving more people began to show up. There were some people representing Colgan standing right along the edge of the parking lot that chastised me for bringing my son in his PJ’s without a coat and me for wearing shorts….I just ignored them…..why the hell do they care if we are warm blooded people? As far as I am concerned summer doesn’t end until it snows…and then I may wear a jacket…
Oh well….votes appopriately cast…..this district is an interesting dichotomy of the old western PWC farmers and the newer NoVAphiles (which I guess I am…).
We shall see how it goes.
I voted at Glenkirk Elementary earlier today. Was voter 51. I had to go to a parent-teacher conference prior to voting. Anyways, I was on the sidewalk, across the street from the campaigners. There was a sign on my side of the street that clearly stated that there was to be no campaigning in the area I was at. It didn’t seem to matter to this one man. He crossed the street and made sure that I had a voter’s guide in hand, even though I told him that I was NOT there to vote at that moment. When I looked at the blue handout, it was a sample ballot from the Democratic party. In retrospect, I wish I had pointed this out to the election workers inside. Oh well…..
Thanks, Riley….I was hoping for some earlier “progressive results” or predictions based upon turnout. Guess I’ll just have to wait until after 7:00PM….:(
If Mr. Ebert wins, it will send a message like a tidal wave to folks that the public supports his efforts and welcomes his dedication to law enforcement.
Krutis,
I had a twinge of the same feeling when I decided to do a write in vote for county attorney. I ultimately decided that Ebert was going to win regardless but felt my vote would have more impact if the final tally was Ebert 70% vs Ham 30% than if it was Ebert 100% of votes cast. My vote for Ham will carry more of a message than a non-vote for Ebert. Therefore, my vote for Ham was made with a clear conscience.
The machines might be a little out of alignment but if others have this problem, it should be reported to someone, somewhere. Be aware when you are casting your votes.
I voted for Ham Sandwich because I heard that if he wins, there would be another election for Commonwealth Attorney. I don’t want Ebert, so this is my best choice for getting rid of him, since others will also be voting for Ham. (I was going to vote for Mickey Mouse, before hearing of Ham’s campaign.) The hope of many is that Ebert would be totally embarrassed to have lost to a sandwich, wouldn’t run and others would step up to the plate.
Voted early at the Buckhall VFD in the Brentsville district. Decent turnout by 7:45. I was # 143 I believe. No protesters or anyone causing any disturbances at this precint. Did wish Jay Obrien good luck and voted for Ham Sandwich, had the aformentioned issue with the “A” but found the work around. I’m looking forward to seeing if candidate Sandwich gets any air time on the news, most likely not.
OK folks - who worked harder to distance themselves
from a fellow party member who was deemed a negative?
– Chuck Colgan from Jeanette Rishell
– Jackson Miller from Bob FitzSimmons
Didn’t see any “unity” ads in the media, etc.
Interesting.
I voted at Metz, around 7:45am(the voter count(?) was less than 50)
Steady light(no waiting) voter traffic, IDs checked and verified at registration desks, NO MWB observed at that time
JM - 6 Nov 2007 at 9:28 am: Can anyone tell me how to cast a write in vote on the elctronic machines?
Under Virginia election laws, you have the right as a voter to enter the full name of a write-in candidate if the candidate of your choice is not on the ballot, except in party primaries.
Electronic voting machines, which are used in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park, all provide the ability to type in the name of a write-in candidate. When the candidates for Commonwealth Attorney are displayed, press the button marked “write-in” or “other”, and type in “Ham Sandwich” in the appropriate area. When you have made all of your selections, a screen will be displayed showing you the candidates you have selected, which should clearly show “Ham Sandwich” as your selection for Commonwealth Attorney.
If you encounter any problems, or have questions, please request assistance from a poll worker. They will be happy to help, and answer any questions you may have.
GO!

AgJOBS AMNESTY AMENDMENT WILL NOT BE OFFERED TO FARM BILL
Our Capitol Hill team learned late last night that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has agreed not to offer her revised AgJOBS amendment to the Farm Bill Extension Act of 2007 as she had originally intended. As a reminder, this is the AgJOBS amnesty to reward an estimated 1.5 million illegal aliens with amnesty (plus their spouses and children which could push the total to three million or more).
Sen. Feinstein said the recent death of DREAM amnesty and the defeat of the Senate amnesty bill in June, combined with the politics on the farm bill made her believe she didn’t have the support to pass AgJOBS.
She is quoted on today’s Congress Daily as saying:
“A broad bipartisan coalition of members believe AgJobs is a necessary solution to the crisis being faced by the agricultural industry,” Feinstein said.
“But in this session, unfortunately, you need more than broad support — you need the right time and opportunity to line up as well.”
“So when we took a clear-eyed assessment of the politics of the farm bill and the defeat of the DREAM Act (which would have allowed college-bound illegal immigrants to earn green cards) and comprehensive immigration reform, it became clear that our support could not sustain these competing forces,” Feinstein said……
This is a tremendous victory for all of you who oppose amnesty and illegal immigration. Your calls and faxes this week were a major factor in convincing Sen. Feinstein to pull the amnesty. And, as Sen. Feinstein indicated, your success in defeating the DREAM amnesty and the Senate “comprehensive” amnesty bill in June have helped create a situation in which Sen. Feinstein and other Senators are finding it is just too difficult to push through their favorite amnesty.
THREAT STILL LOOMS
Unfortunately, we are not out of the woods. Our Capitol Hill team is hearing that Sen. Feinstein may have worked a deal in which she will be able to bring up the AgJOBS amnesty as a stand-alone bill in exchange for not offering the amendment to the Farm Bill. Congress is expected to be in session for at least two weeks next month. That means we may face the threat of a stand-alone AgJOBS amnesty for at least another month. We will keep you updated to any potential threat.

Patty on 6 Nov 2007 at 7:29 am:
Just returned from voting at Stonewall Middle and did not see anything like you described in above post. Very quiet outside and inside. Maybe they made them move the vehicle but it was not there a few minutes ago.
At 10:45, my wife was number 220 at Potomac Precinct. She reported that she had no problems voting for Ham Sandwich and my 4-year old daughter spelled out Ham’s name.
Vigilant1,
I’ve got pictures of the vehicle. I’m going to send them to Greg and maybe he can post them.
I was told by the poll workers that the man (Mexicans Without Borders member) who owns the sign in the City was approached by some election officials to make sure he behaved himself. They told me that after a while he was picked up in a van and left. I guess since he couldn’t pull any shennanigans, he decided to leave. That is the report I got from some of the poll workers earlier.
No, veteran, IF Mr. Ebert wins, it will NOT send a message like a tidal wave to folks that the public supports his efforts and welcomes his dedication to law enforcement (since his efforts and dedication are weak to non-existant.) All it will say IF Ebert wins is that Ebert beat the meat.
It’s almost noon. To show my support, I think I will meet with Ham Sandwish for lunch.
I had the same problem as Big Dog and k. o’toole at Metz Middle School when I was trying to vote for City Clerk.
I received a report from someone that spoke with one of Chuck Colgan’s grandkids who said the Democrats have never been more disorganized than they are this year and complimented the GOP on their organization in PWC.
Actually Veteran, if Ham gets even 1% of the vote it should send a clear message to Ebert that anybody with a pulse would have had a VERY good shot at beating him this time…and hopefully send the same message to the legal community that he is not omnipotent!
mtnhiker,
Thanks for sharing that information - there
seems to be a glitch at Metz related to voting for
Clerk of the Court.
Voted at 10 30 PWC coles District we were 92 and 93
My husband a Demo voted for Fitzsimmonds we both did not vote for Mc quigg I voted for Ham Sandwich
Just got a report of heavy turnout in Stafford that is very pro-Richard Stuart.
Krustis:
Look, Ebert hasn’t done anything to demonstrate he should remain in office, he didn’t ask for my vote, when I was on the PWCDC he routinely ignored the party and its leadership, and has demonstrated by his inaction he could give a rat’s a** about anyone or anything that doesn’t directly affect him.
I voted for Ham in protest. I laughed out loud each time I went to Ham’s website and I sincerely hope that enough people don’t vote for Ebert so maybe we will get a real choice next time around.
I have always believed it is better to write someone, or something, in instead of not voting.
This was my most eclectic election day ever. I split my voted between Dems and Rs and some write ins. It was a liberating experience; feels great to be an Independent.
Riley:
Sorry I missed you this morning; had my head down to get thru the rain.
I was shocked at the lack of Democratic presence at the Potomac/River Oaks precinct this morning. That party has disintegrated and there is no better day than election day to witness it.
I consider Pete Frisbie a friend and am truly sorry that he inherited that bunch of misfits. Now that Barg is out, all they need to do is get rid of the Jenkins types and the gay rights/illegal alien apologists and maybe they’ll have a viable political party again.
I was disappointed to vote for Jenkins, but with the person running as a write in, I thought I needed to vote for him. My husband talked to him in front of the Giant G the other day. He said that “we” needed to get rid of Corey Stewart. I guess Jenkins doesn’t like Stewart.
Stonewall Update I left the 11am=397, at noon=497!! update 12:30pm=505.
I have to say I thought there would only be about 500 between WestGate and Stonewall. Looks like Stonewall has beat that mark.
I’ve seen lots of seniors at Stonewall. Voting is in the library further away than usual. If anyone is coming to Stonewall that might have difficulty walking turn in by the buses and park in the bus loop. The walk will be much shorter. Thanks to Allison, she went and got her car and drove one gentleman to his car.
The male translator from the “marathon citizens’ time” is and has been at Stonewall most of the morning. He took a couple of folks into vote, and I heard even taking them to machine. The troops have been called in, and have just arrived. The translator guy is now outside of the school. More on this later.I’m on my way back up there.
There was 25 were lined up before the polls opened at SMS!
I have heard from several people today who voted for Mr. Sandwich and I wasn’t even aware that they knew of his campaign.
This race could be dark horse sleeper of the season!
Word of mouth, VRC. Word of mouth…
From what it appears, BOTH parties in Prince Willam are due for an overhaul. We have the “gay rights/illegal apologists” on the Left and the terrorist sympathizers (Faisal Gill) on the Right. It will be nice to see Tom Kopko gone after this election once and for all.
If actually hurts to admit that the Democrat (Paul Nichols, in this case) is BETTER than the Republican (Faisal), but those in the 51st…my prayers are with you all.
I voted at Bristow Run around 10:00am. Very, very quiet. I imagine most of the action will be in South PWC. No problems whatsoever. Writing in Hamilton Sandwich was easy. Let’s pray that we carry the day.
Spent about 3 hours handing out literature @ Metz.
Debbie FitzSimmonds was there throughout my time. Suzanne Miller stopped by for a short time. Jackson Miller was there for the last hour I was there. Rishell showed up shortly after Jackson so I suspect they were tailign him. She sported a lovely white scarf wrapped around her head and looked totally goofy chasing down voters.
Fairly consistent turnout throughout the morning. While there I heard that turnout was great @ Dean Elementary and low in Manassas Park (good news for Jackson).

Can’t speak for the other races, but only Julie Lucas was running opposed and she lives in the Neabsco District. Ebert’s race withstanding (knowing the history of what happens to opponents) it goes to show that at least on the School Board, people are satisfied with their reps. Not so in Fairfax County, at least. I did see that Dave Marsden (D) ran unopposed.
It’s low in MP because everybody here is illegal. That should be proof enough that what I say is true! I think there are probably only 100 or so eligible voters left in this town and I kid you not. I am dead serious.
I voted at 8:20 this morning at Glenkirk and I was #53. Come on Glenkirk voters, get out there!!!
URGENT!!!! I JUST FINISHED VOTING AT MULLEN WHEN A FEW VANS WITH GROUPS FROM MEXICANS WITHOUT BORDERS SHOWED UP.
WE NEED TO GET OUR TROOPS OVER THERE ASAP, THEY ARE HARRASSING VOTERS AND DISRUPTING THE ELECTORAL PROCESS.
FYI: At 10 am @ Hayden ES, there had already been nearly 500 votes cast.
Rob: Call the police, NOW!
I voted at 10:30 at Pattie precinct at Forest Park High School. At about noon there had been 1000 appox. voters out already. There were people from the Hispanic community to take pictures but no problems with them at all. We had Jeff Frederick, Bob Fitzsimmonds, Corey Stewart, Sharon Pandak with a bunch of apples in her arm (strange), Ryland was there and so was Colgan. large turnout with a hilarious democrat woman who said she loves Corey Stewart. It seemed very strongly pro resolution people. I voted for Mr. Ham Sandwich as did my husband and I have laughed all morning about that. It is my first write in vote and I was proud to do it. We also had Brown who is running against Jeff Frederick. It felt like hail, hail the gangs all here, but there are 3 precincts that vote at Forest Park, so it draws the candidates. We got a report that it is very strong our way in Lingamfelters district, so I hope it continues. I always get nervous on election day, but I feel better now.
I voted at 10:30 at Bennett Elementary. I voted for Ham Sandwich. No problems with the machine and the write in was easy. No lines, slow trickle of people while I was there for the hour or so having a parent/teacher conference and voting. A few supporters outside but they were nondescript. One tried to hand me a Republican sample ballot. There was a table with a container of apples on it. My daughter really wanted an apple but there were Pandak flyers on the table and I told her we have apples at home.
Does anyone have any idea why Pandak supporters were handing out apples?
While I was checking in and handing them my DL, I asked the official what happens to people who wish to vote but do not have ID? She was flustered and started to list all the ID’s that were appropriate (DL, voter’s reg card, military ID, etc.) I said, what do you do with people who don’t have any ID at all? She called over her boss and she asked me how she could help me. I asked if people without ID are being allowed to vote? Do you have some type of affidavit for them to sign and then their vote may or may not be counted later after their eligibility is confirmed? She then starts shuffling through her papers trying to locate some type of official statement on all this. I told her it’s OK, I have an ID that I’m just curious what their official position is on people who arrive without any ID at all. She said that hasn’t happened today and she is very interested in making sure only legally registered voters have the opportunity to vote.
I am in Neabsco District and we lost power for about 5 minutes. I hope the votes are safe.
Rob, et al: if you can video any of the thugs performing thuggery, please do so. Contact me if you can’t find anyplace to upload them and I’ll make them available for whoever wants to link to them.
I called the voter registry and the lady there told me that all the machines have a battery back-up that should last a few hours. I still worry about my vote being safe.

Where is Mullen?
Talked to my husband, who said he voted at the Costello Park rec center in Manassas Park between 11:30 and noon. He stayed home today but got up off his sick bed long enough to vote. Because of his viral induced haze, he isn’t the best source of info right now, but this is what I got from him: He said he saw other voters there, but the poll worker claimed that turn out has been light. He doesn’t know what number voter he was. He was not aware of Ham Sandwich (doesn’t read this blog), but did write in another name in a protest vote against Ebert. He didn’t notice anyone campaigning, but in his current state I think that a caravan of MSF agitors would get scant attention from him.
Mullen Elementary school is located at 8000 Rodes Drive, Manassas, Virginia 20109. It’s behind some townhouses close to Costco.
It would have been so much better if you all voting for a sandwich could actually have organized enough to get someone to run against Ebert.
But for all the haters of (oh my god!) Mexican people - ya’ll should have written in Taco salad. Not my district - just stopping by. I live in the Democratic Love Bastion of Fairfax.

YES, PLEASE HELP. I AM CHARGING UP MY CAMERA BATTERY RIGHT NOW AND THEN HEADING BACK
All you highly amused (by Ham Sandwich), know-better-than-Ebert people like Matt, AW, Nancy Pratt and husband for example: Why haven’t you been able to dredge up a REAL person to oppose him. If he’s so worthless, surely one of you worthies shouldn’t have had any problem beating him, right?
Kru, haven’t you been paying attention?
cprofits said on 6 Nov 2007 at 1:58 pm:

They had the fruits and were just waiting on the nuts!
Kru is a troll on here. Ignore and it will wither away.
And who dare impersonate Ham Sandwich above? That is a banning offense.
Finally, I figured out why Pandak is handing out apples.
http://virginiavirtucon.wordpress.com/2007/11/06/pandak-handing-out-apples/
Voted at elementary school off of Lindendale around 10am, didn’t have to wait in line, only about 3 other people there voting at the same time. No protestors, just the usual handing out sample ballots. Someone urging voters to vote for Pandak. Asked to show my ID to vote.
The number to report election violations is 1-800-552-9745
Not impersonating. There are many varieties of a ham sandwich. I happen to be Virginia Ham (born and bred) on lightly toasted Rye, with a little Dijon and a little Mayo, tomato, thinly sliced Swiss and Romaine lettuce.
Clearly NOT the Ham Sandwich running for office.
Rob, do you know if those thugs from mexicans without borders left mullen yet? because i just left victory and they had just arrived there as well. just trying to figure out if they are moving around or they have many more vans. there were non of our people there to help counter them, what can i do, im only one guy.
If something doesn’t feel right - call the police!
CONFRONT THEM!!!
I call bull on MWB being at Victory, just talked to a volunteer there and he hadn’t seen anyone like that since he’s been there at 1 PM.
No, don’t confront them; that’s just stupid. You don’t want to get in a fight, get arrested, etc for the sake of proving your manliness.
As long as they are not interfering with anyone going into the polls, you can’t and shouldn’t do anything.
Matt,
I totally agree with you. The people I saw at SMS were doing exactly what all the other campaign workers were doing and were not bothering anyone. Why borrow trouble? Those working the election tables will handle any voting irregularies if any present themselves. They are trained.
I say confront them if they are attempting to intimidate. It’s not about proving one’s manliness, but rather upholding the rule of law.
Voted at Victory Elem this morning without an ID (but I did
show my voter registration card and that was acceptable).
Saw nothing unusual. No illegals, MWB showed up while I
was there and I sat in my car for a good hour, just observing.
I went to Costco today and I took note of how many people were wearing their “I voted” stickers. To me, it seemed like it was only seniors. We’ll see with the results.
Van just returned to Stonewall Middle about an hour and a half ago, that had STOPSTIRRUP.COM on the back window. She had been there earlier in the day, and was told to remove it, and she did. She came back with it on the window. This is the lady from Bull Run Mountain, AlanaM(?), she’s spoken several times at Citizen’s Time and she says she married to an ILLEGAL, and one time even lifted her daughter up for them to see.
I voted at Stone Middle School in Centreville this morning. Number 31. I want to thank the Fairfax GOP for the sample ballot.
Time to send Chuck Caputo packing, and Janet Olezek to Clue Camp.
Stonewall Middle 1pm=540; 2pm=621; 3pm=672; 4pm=742
The van STOPSTIRRUP.COM pulled into Westgate as I was leaving around 3:45. I was # 348 . Had no trouble.
Lafayette,
Who told her to get rid of it? If she was in the parking lot, I guess I don’t see where anyone has the right to tell us what we can or cannot have on our cars. I do know who you are talking about. I am trying to understand this. Tell more please.
The van I was talking about was a white minivan with yellow bingo paint. I also showed my dl and voter reg. card. They asked me to say my state my name and address.
Has anybody actually been able to get to the STOPSTIRRUP.COM web site? I haven’t been able to with that name.
I voted at Manassas Park Middle School today around 2pm. Turnout under my side of the table was only about 170, and there was no waiting. The Ham Sandwich write-in was a piece of cake (no pun intended), and no other voting problems were had.
As I left, I did observe an older lady volunteering for one of the Democrat campaigns start bawling out some other guy out front - saying that she’d never vote for another Republican again after this election. I could hear her plain as day as I walked from the front doors of the school down to the front of Euclid where I was parked. I don’t know who the guy was, but he had her pissed. He seemed to be trying to make his case in a rational fashion, but she was not to be dissuaded from her rant.
I went home from there to watch the kids so my wife could go vote, and when she came back from the polls, she said the lady I saw introduced herself as Chuck Colgan’s daughter and handed her a sample Democrat ballot.
3:30 P.M., Voted at Benton School, Coles District… it was a ghost town. Just a one campaigner (school board), two people ahead of me, one walking in as I left. No croud at all.
I remember waiting in line for an hour last time. Perhaps turnout will increase as people come home from work.
I voted earlier this afternoon(Baldwin) and said I did not “have” my ID just to see what would happen. I told the kind lady that I did not think there was a law that required us to show ID, she confirmed that and indicated because there were observers she needed to ask. I just had to sign the slip stating I was registered.
I also voted for Mr. Ham Sammy.
I’m not sure who told her to remove it. It’s signage and didn’t have paid for by(disclaimer). I will get more details and post later need to get back up there.
Dolph,
I saw you on your “field trip” a little while ago!!
redawn,
Thanks for letting us know where Alana is. She’s floated all day between WestGate, Sinclair, and my personal favorite Stonewall.
I didn’t see any ham sandwich people passing out literature; however, I think I saw someone eating a bacon cheeseburger with fries. They are both in the same meat family… they were inside the polling area… wonder if this is a violation?

Rob at 13th,
Has is it calmed down over there? Did you get pictures?
Lafayette,
Yes, did a field trip. Tried to make eye contact. Was looking for the daughter but she had moved on to the next polling place but not for that reason. So, I did the pony express thing. I must have just missed Ms. Redawn.
All seemed quiet on 4 fronts. That wind is brutal!

Rob Smalls:
One of Chuck Colgan’s daughters (don’t know how many he has, don’t care) was at Metz this morning as well. She was INCREDIBLY rude to Debbie FitzSimmonds, who merely attempted to introduce herself to Mrs. Colgan-SomethingOrOther.
She was also obnoxiously shouting at voters that “BOTH newspapers endorsed her [elderly] father” (editorial comment added) , I guess conveniently forgetting that two other local papers, The Washington Times and the Examiner did NOT endorse her and one, The Times, endorsed Mr. FitzSimmonds.
We were besieged constantly by various members of the Colgan family dynasty.

Rob, Yup, that sounds like a Colgan daughter - won’t go into my interaction with her right now. It concerned the tax money “daddy” gave to the widow Finn a few years back.
Lafayette - removestirrup.com works fine and then you can click on the “goodbye_____” on the left to see more. Check it out - has links, etc.
I snapped a few, then they dispersed. I followed them over to stonewall and then to victory. They calmed down a little when they saw me with my camera, but they are definitely still messin around! I had to leave to take care of my kid. my buddy over at sudley north just called me and i couldnt make him out to well cuz of the reception but i think they’ve moved over there. can i upload my pictures straight to this sight on a post? we haven’t done a great job of confronting these people, can anyone else help here?

Has anyone heard about the noose being hung out on Bull Run Mountain? It’s a story mentioned on the goodbyestirrup web site.
hmmmm election day gossip…which new restauant on the west end just got raided by the ABC board this afternoon?
What are people hearing about R vs. D prospects? Over at NLS there have been a couple of “things don’t look good for Dems” comments and now (I kid you not!) they’re doing anagrams of politicians’ names.
As a great president once said in a campaign -
“Here you go again” — Senator Colgan and his family
are first rate people who care deeply about our
community and have for decades.
Perhaps, after the election, you may want to reflect on
attacking the elderly and the number of “I Voted”
stickers you see them proudly wearing. Maybe not
a good idea for the FitzSimmon’s gang?

I had seen it mentioned in a comment left by some one on 9500Libery….tired to investigate it myself and found nothing in the papers, etc……
Big Dog:
I know what I saw. The argument she had on display for the whole parking lot to witness was anything but “first-rate”. She shouted down whoever it was calmly trying to talk to her. Are you suggesting she did that because she cares deeply for our community?

Stopstirrup isn’t a registered name.
Bob,
Was there any other media that covered this besides News channel 8?
I don’t have Comcast. This is horrible, is there any follow up, have they caught the people who did this????????

Coles Firehouse ~ 4:30
No fuss, no muss. No lines. Steady stream of traffic heading in and out efficiently. They said they had probably 1000 to 1100 vote so far today.
Here is the noose story
http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/1007/466704_share.html
voted at 4:40 PM, Hedges Run Elementary, Faisel was there (second time i’ve seen him in two days!), hubs and i wished him luck and voiced again our support and good wishes. Candidate Sandwich wasn’t there at the time, but i supported him too! Perhaps he had gone to another polling place after lunch…..
i was 341, hubs doesn’t remember his number. spoke to a poll worker about turnout, he said it had been steady all day, only had one period of about 10 minutes with no one voting. all voting machines in use and i was 5 or 6 in line after receiving my card to wait for a machine.
parking lot was full, with more cars coming all the time. can’t really make my own comparison on turn-out. we usually stand in line and wait for the polls to open at 6:00AM, but as we knew we could get off early today, decided to vote on the way home instead.

THIS IS WRONG AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS A HATE CRIME…..
WHO WHERE THE OFFICERS? THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO!!!!!!!!
Interesting story. You would think if it were teenagers, the son would have gotten a bead on it. Kids can’t keep their mouths closed. Especially if the Dad is a coach.
Also, while not a fan of “you know who”, I can’t make the leap to blame any supervisor for this action. Why are some so quick to blame other people when clearly someone made the independent decision to do this. I am so sick of actions being someone elses fault or medicalized.
I am going to vote now and will report back from FPHS. Kind of a boring place though - if we still lived in DC it might be more interesting
.
Agree, Redawn - there is no other way to look at this than as a hate crime. Only black family in the area with kids and a coach to boot. They must know who lives there based on that alone.
Something just like this happened at a home of a Jewish optomotrist here and I thought that was treated as a hate crime, so why not this? Maybe the family chose not to? Although, I thought hate crimes could be processed without a victim like domestic violence can be processed even if the spouse does not make a complaint.
Maybe someone knows the answer to that.
One Voice,
I was thinking the same thing…..kids run their mouths, even if it were a kid angry at the son or father being a coach….this is wrong and needs attention!
This happened a while ago - kids would have talked by now or done it again. Don’t think it was kids.
My opinion the family would not have gone to press with this story if they had not wanted this treated as a hated crime?
I hope someone will step up and we can find out who the police where on duty…..it should not be hard to narrow down. This is SO WRONG and my heart goes out to the family!
One Voice,
EXACTLY, we are on the same train of thought. I will not let this go….let’s see what we can find out…anyone out there with more info.?
question for those of you more savvy in how this works….as stated above, i was 341 for the A-H line. there were three lines total. is each line assigned numbers sequenstially? in other words, A-H 341 (me), I-N 342, O-Z 343, then back to A-H? thanks for any help. i hope to get a lot more active in local politics when i stop working in a few years, and possibly volunteer to work at the polls. but i’ve never really paid attention to what number i was, until today when it really matters. i wouldn’t have to ask this question if hubs had paid attention to what number he was…..
Retiredwildgoose: “I didn’t see any ham sandwich people passing out literature; however, I think I saw someone eating a bacon cheeseburger with fries. They are both in the same meat family… they were inside the polling area… wonder if this is a violation?”
Well, there is a really bad pun in this that should be below my dignity, but I just can’t help it.
I imagine meat from a “polled” bovine would be allowed at the polling area.
.
.
.
.
“polled” = “hornless”
I voted at Belmont Bay Elem. this morning — it was mixed as the neighborhood is about evenly split between parties and between economic class
I was number 5 but about 50 voted before 6:30
I did vote for Ham Sandwich, and wrote my own name in for several of the other who were unopposed or when I knew nothing about the candidate.
I then went to Evergeen station in Haymarket to collect signatures for the primary petition for Fred Thompson.
I think it was going very well for Stewart at that location.
The woman handing out the Pandak info just didn’t understand the issues regarding development and the illegals –
Plus it is an entirely different world on the north end of the county versus the south end — or Manassas –
Maybe we can get an exchange resident thing going so that some of these folks can come to understand the real issues.
Great idea Judy T.
Redawn - Greg has mentioned Jackson Miller a few time as regular contact and I think Miller is a County Police officer - he might be source - likely not until Thursday as he will certainly be celebrating tonight!
Regarding the noose…This is exactly the kind of ethnic, gender, racial and religious group hatred I’ve been talking about that needs to be stopped. No family should ever be treated like this. Any group that advocates for ethnic special privilige and supremacy above all others, and who cares only for their “own” kind and ethnic group, should be held accountable for such hateful attitudes, comments and actions. Accountability is about following the law and not allowing others to break it. Ignoring the law causes pain and suffering to victims the law is meant to protect. “Illegal” behavior damages society and harms innocents. My heart goes out to this poor family. If we do not stop this militant advocacy only for ethnic group priviliges and the hatred and anger conveyed to all other gender, races, religions and ethnic groups other than your own, we will become a society of hateful fascists, and you will see a rise in this kind of illegal behavior none of us wishes on any innocent individual. Any ethnic group or ethnic youth group or ethnic gang today expressing hatred of others could have done this to this poor family. We must all look out for and stop these groups in their tracks.
ceejay:” i was 341 for the A-H line. there were three lines total. is each line assigned numbers sequenstially? in other words, A-H 341 (me), I-N 342, O-Z 343, then back to A-H?”
No. My understanding is that you were the 341st voter in the A-H line. I asked the same question when I voted.
At 8:00 a.m. at Jennie Dean “A-O” I was 208 and “P-Z” I heard 144. I waited in line for 15 minutes and the line was out the door. I have never waited in line to vote before today! Time is a winding down!
One Voice & Michael,
I was thinking the very same thing. We know Jackson Miller will be celebrating tonight ( and yes I voted for him : ) we have people that can help!

Costello Park at 6:45. I was 277 in M-Z, I overheard 234 in A-K. Both Dems and Reps were handing out sample ballots, but things were civil. There were about a dozen people either voting or waiting in line. When my turn came, I cast a vote for Ham Sandwich.
Crime is crime. There should be no delineation between a crime and a hate crime.
Just wondering….and I’m probably off base to you…do any of you do anything fun? I check this site a couple times a week and amazed at the paranoia and obessiveness of you folks. Looking for signs, who’s at the polling places, voting for a sandwich? There are positive things you can do to change the world, or the County!
Rob,
I just want to know if the police are still investigating this or just shrug it off as a prank?
I cannot wait to see the results tonight, i think the apologists are going to wallowing in their sorry tonight after their old-school beat-down at the polls today!!
Yeah i think the concern for the hate crime can be dialed down a bit and the focus put back on the election where it belongs. A crime is a crime I agree. No need to differentiate.
Zeppy ,
“There are positive things you can do to change the world, or the County!”
It starts at home first and local before we can change the world
redawn,
I absolutely agree with you! I believe that we should work FOR it in a postive way and let the rest follow!
Park’d,
I understand what you and Rob Smalls are saying about a crime is a crime. The sign in old Towne is getting it;s own thread, etc.
The KKK saga got it’s own thread. I am sad about this story and I think it deserves its own thread as the others. It also helps send out the message that people here on this blog care about such things.
zeppy, i guess you get what you look for.
I agree, that’s exactly what i’ve learned on this site! Thanks for pointing it out!
Zeppy:
“do any of you do anything fun?”
Certainly! Want a list?
“amazed at the paranoia and obessiveness of you folks. Looking for signs, who’s at the polling places”
I counter your “paranoia and obessiveness” with involvement and concern. I assume you don’t live in PWC. To those of us that do, this election is very important to a lot of us on the local and state level. The results will affect our daily lives for quite a while.
“voting for a sandwich”

Zeppy:
Obviously you are for changing the county/world by posing as the fun police.
This is an open thread. Ms. Redawn has a concern. The election is over in 12 minutes. What more can be said that hasn’t been said over and over. Ms. Redawn, go at it.
Well, I do LIVE in the county. And have been here for my entire adult life. The election is incredibily important to me for many reasons! I understand involvement and concern, I just think the things being discussed today are more geared toward paranoia and obessiveness. Signs and who is at the polling booths? if someone is going to the polling booths on an off year, they have already decided…spend that time being proactive, not reactive! Thats all i’m saying!
We’re going to start having results on Virtucon come in just after 7 p.m. Jay Hughes will be anchoring our coverage with lots of news, predictions and analysis and we’ll have Jason Kenney doing a liveblog press conference from Republican Party of VA HQ in Richmond.

Regarding crime is a crime - Think Hate crime is distinguished so the punishment is different. Otherwise in this case it would be a simple case of trespassing and in other cases vandelism which do not carry very much of a punishment.
My son closed down the poll at Stonewall Middle. Made it in by the skin of his teeth and wore a tux. He got 2 ‘I voted’ stickers for dressing for the occassion. He told them it was a very important day for him.

I have to give a shout out a pat on the back to AWCheney, I started out on this blog thinking I had nothing to contribute ( and may not, but it is an outlet
) She welcomed me in and I have learned SOOOOOOOOO MUCH, I want to thank her for being kind
Here we go. Virginia State Board of Elections has their web site up and ready to report results —- !!!!
Dolph,
Your son has the BEST sense of HUMOR…he has me laughing my ..off once again…love it…hope it’s contagious.
URL?
Never mind…
www.voterinfo.sbe.virginia.gov
I am not good at cut and paste or making much work on a computer. Go there scroll down and see a red note about 11/6/07 election results.
Then choose locality and you get just PWC - also can drill down by precint.
Zeppy, as i think i posted before, i am just now becoming interested in local politics in the last year or so. i don’t know why Ham Sandwich had to take on the Commonwealth Attorney and that there was no one running against him. but i can tell you this. Mr. Ebert is MY attorney, and yours. if he had to rule regarding the mailing done by Chairman Stewart, i would expect him to do so by rule of law. and since the Chesterfield Co. attorney ruled that Corey was within his rights as the Chair of the BOS, MY attorney bailed on his responsibility. that was, in and of itself, enough for me to vote against him and in favor of a delicious lunch treat.
i don’t know who the man dates, dated, will date, and i don’t care. i only care that when he had the chance to prove himself to me, he bailed and passed the buck. the arguement that the Board approves his budget is bull. if he thought he had been slighted in that department due to his decision, i’m sure he would have had recourse, and as MY attorney, i would have agreed with him.
and thanks for your good wishes. isn’t irony fun?
Redawn,
Actually he was coming from work but he didn’t let on. He acted like he dressed for the occassion. arrgghhhh.

i am sooooo neutral on all of this! i just want humanity to move FORWARD! I’m flying outta here in 6 hours so I’ve gotta sleep for a couple. Good luck to all of you who have worked so hard for what you believe! Can’t argue with your commitment!
es_la_ley
did you find it?
one voice, clicked on your link, can’t get in. bet that website is flooded right now! thanks, i’ll keep checking.
One Voice: Got it. Thanks!
Ceejay -
Think it’s my link. I stink at that. I googled Virginia State Board of Elections and got right in.
ceejay: Yea, it’s probably getting hit hard now.
Great enjoy. I love election night regardless of the outcome. What a process and what a country!!
I’m happy for your son Dolph. That’s very creative, chip off the ole block?
This should be a good night for everyone here. Wish all the best in the results they desire!
Thank you for posting about this website. I am in and waiting for results. Can’t wait to see some numbers on Corey Stewart.
Yes indeed. That’s why we are fighting to keep it that way and not let it turn into a 3rd world cesspool of crime and corruption.
I was watching channel 8 news at 7:03 and John Gonzalez (reporter) was talking about Prince Williams County’s resolution and referred to it as a “radical movement”. According to Webster’s definition radical means “arising from or reaching a root or source: basic” or it means ” drastic: extreme”. I would guess he is comparing PWC to drastic extremists. I am so pissed off that he is allowed to call enforcement of our laws as “radical movements”. I am going to write to the Washington Post and call channel 8 to complain. If anybody should be called radical, it should be the idiots that don’t enforce our laws. Hope others will make a stink too.
Ceejay,
Try this instead:
http://www.sbe.virginia.gov/cms/
Zeppy,
Have a good trip and hope to hear from you again on this blog.
Ceejay,
I am new to the local involvement and you asked a good question earlier about the number count..always learning here
Dolph,
He is a NATURAL…love it improve baby…..
Park’d - Absolutely. It’s our country and our responsiblilty to run it the way we think it should be run. Following the law is a very good start.
BTW - around 10 this morning I saw a VDOT truck
next to Colgan’s original sign at 28 and Compton….he had changed it to read “lane closed”. Wonder if VDOT didn’t authorize that sign being used for a campaign!
hahaha

Sweet dreams, godspeed and have a safe flight! Drop bck in when you get back.
one voice, i’m right there with you. i actually take the day after a national election off, because i stay up to watch returns.
i need a hobby.
and i don’t think it was your link, i just think the site was busy. i’ll try again.

Agree. Gotta love a person with convictions. Even if we don’t always agree
Michael, you and he share a name.
Tunanator,
“I was watching channel 8 news at 7:03 and John Gonzalez (reporter) was talking about Prince Williams County’s resolution and referred to it as a “radical movement”.”
You know what, I had a guy at work point me out in front of everyone and say, so…Prince William County is …blah, blah, really fighting on the illegal alien issue, and I said to him, it’s everywhere and his response to me was PWC is leading the way, national… I just ignored him as he was making a point to call it out to everyone, when he was the same damn fool that said, oh what is PWC going to do that no one else can do…I
One Voice ,
What fun would it be if, we ALL agreed…gotta love that Zeppy, you asked if we have fun…here ya go…this place is a hoot
from my previous statement:
“Colgan’s original sign at 28 and Compton….he had changed it to read “lane closed”. Wonder if VDOT didn’t authorize that sign being used for a campaign!
hahaha”
by “he” I meant the VDOT guy changed the sign.
And….I used to be in charge of the Loch Lomond
district years ago - if we got 500 people at the polls it was a good day. Looks like we’re gonna blow the lid off the sucka this time!
PWC is going to forge the way for other jurisdictions to figure out how to attack this problem with what few resources and limited powers are available.
PWC is going to force federal legislators to deal with the issue at the federal level.
PWC is not trying to write new law, PWC is doing their best to work within the law currently on the books and take corrective action. That’s why zoning violations are so important.
Tunanator: “I was watching channel 8 news at 7:03 and John Gonzalez (reporter) was talking about Prince Williams County’s resolution and referred to it as a “radical movement […] I would guess he is comparing PWC to drastic extremists. I am so pissed off that he is allowed to call enforcement of our laws as “radical movements”.”
Yea, being called something that you don’t think you are has a tendency to piss you off. “Radical” is mild. “Racist” and “Xenophobe” hits you harder.
“I am going to write to the Washington Post and call channel 8 to complain.”
A good way to get involved!
Good luck!
If that reporter thinks this is a ‘radical movement’ (gotta laugh at that one) then he would REALLY love what Oklahoma has done. God bless Oklahoma. They are the real trailblazers of the anti-illegal alien movement.
es-la-ley & Tunanator:
Good do it, that was the intention of the guy at work to call me out in this light……
I just checked the VBE site - looks like Colgan and Miller are winning by sizable margins, but the Clerk race is too close to call.
One Voice: “Gotta love a person with convictions. Even if we don’t always agree.”
Couldn’t agree with you more.
Park’d,
I wanted so bad to rebuttal back and say, you think PWC is bad, look at Oklahoma…LOL
Sticks and stones, I am confident in who I am, so I just chose to ignore this guy at work……..wisdom to know the difference…choose battles…
NLS just called it for jackson Miller…he has increased his leads out of the cities over last year, and all that is out are the country precincts…
redawn: everybody at my work knows how I feel about illegal aliens and I make no bones about it. Many of them have been to my house for parties and stuff and they all start to cringe when they hit Manassas Drive.
A little jeopardy for you all in the category of famous quotes:
Answer: “We do not have an illegal alien problem”
Question: Who is Mayor Frank Jones, Manassas Park
“Anonymous said on 6 Nov 2007 at 8:18 pm:
I just checked the VBE site - looks like Colgan and Miller are winning by sizable margins, but the Clerk race is too close to call.”
I will say, I voted for BOTH……lol
I very much like Colgan personally from one fly guy to another; I respect his dedication to this state and his service for the past God only knows how many years, but the man has done DIDDLY SQUAT to rid our neighborhoods of illegal aliens. He has been worthless on this issue so therefor I chose not to vote for him again.
Park’d,
Gotcha, If I invited people from work they would see…but also the reason why I don’t…is because they don’t see…..lol to bad so sad…not tears here…
The biggest anticipation I have in this election is whether or not ole Gerry C gets handed his hat in Fairfax. That would just be the icing on the cake for today that arrogant prick.
Park’d,
I get what you are saying too and was on the fence about voting for Colgan, esp, AFTER the fact that some people have reported about some questionable Colgan run- ins, today at the polls.
I can go back and find it, but for the sake of time, the REASON why I voted Colgan, was someone commented and made a very good point about seniority and the volume of Dems…so I feel Miller is a sure thing and Colgan and he can work together…..
Looks like Ham Sandwich is on track to get around 500 votes.
“charm said on 5 Nov 2007 at 5:53 pm:
Here’s my reason for supporting Chuck Colgan, besides the fact that I truly like the man:
He has the most seniority in the Senate. If Democrats take control of the Senate, and Chuck Colgan wins this race, he will head the finance committee and be able to direct far more dollars to our region for needed things like schools and transportation.
There is a very, very good chance Democrats ARE going to take the senate this time. Dems probably won’t take the House, but Colgan will have far more power to demand compromises for us.
If FitzSimmons is elected, he will have zero experience in the senate, and since things are handled in a pecking-order fashion, he will be able to do very little for our district.”
Park’d,
Here it is, the reason……… show me the money….LOL ( One Voice, you will appreciate that one…)
Hi Redawn and Es_la_ley, that noose case was and has been investigated by the police since it was first reported. They have been in constant contact with everyone involved and it was relased in a press release to the media. I have learned however, not to take every case as it first appears so lets wait until its all investigated and see where the facts lie and lead the police. But they have been working it since it was reported.
Anonymous,
Thanks for the update and feedback. I will take this to the “side burner” for now. I always approach everything with : don’t believe what you hear and half of what you see, first off…so time will tell….and we shall see…got that
Thank you
Just wanted to congratulate everyone who is a part of the Fitzsimmons inner circle crowd. Colgan would not have even run if it were not for his dislike for Fitz. Colgan could not handle the possibility of being succeeded by Fitz. So…he ran again, and is going to kick butt again. Colgan crushed in City and Park. The margin that Fitz won Brentsville Precinct by and the fact that he lost Victory Precinct are very bad signs. He had to win precincts like those by 8-10% to have any chance. Looks like 54-46 to me. So maybe the Fitz crowd that has had way too much control in the local Repub party will finally diminish. Btw…. way to push out Lucy and cause her to run Independent. Looks like it could split the ticket and give Ryland the win.

YOU ARE CORRECT! YOU WERE NOT EVEN IN THE CONVERSATION.
IT was me, One Voice, Michael and some other responded, Park;d and Rob Smalls…for the record…:)

My email is not working…….turn on Hannity and Combs…The “Dog” is on…Call me if you need to I can send or open any email….
Dolph,

The Dog would definitely be comic relief to me tonight. Reboot your computer. It might fix the email problem.

The Dog has turned into Lou Dobbs. Rut Roooooo
Not larry
Calls race for Colgan, Miller, Marshall and Oleszek lookin’ good…..for what it’s worth.
Dolph,
I will try that…there is always another side to the story…..damn kids…. LOL
You know what, it just dawned on me ( yes, punn intended)
I want to know why: honkie, ghost, cracker, white bread, whitey, albino, etc., are okay to say but no one has called the agencies, media, etc…..
for the record, my teenage daughters have the same questions…..
to add to my comment, my teenagers helped come up with the name calling of white people….some things never change? I am asking why? How is this fair ( NO pun intended)
Voted at 6 at Woodbridge High. Mike May was outside in the dark drizzle just before tee time. Chipper as ever. Let him know we appreciated his votes on the board. 20 people there as the doors opened. I continue to be reminded of the importance of the process by how quiet and respectful true participants in the democratic process can be every November. No cell phones, no chit chat. Just citizens of all types thinking about voting. ID’s were checked and my write in for Mr. Sandwich went just fine. My wife asked me what would happen if the imaginary Mr. Sandwich won. I said I guessed Mr. Ebert would be eating crow for awhile. Saw the op-ed by Gary Jacobsen about not voting and going to Lake Anna to go fishing instead in the MJM. Hope he went and caught some snakehead. He missed the opportunity to see the majesty of everyday Americans performing their duty without fanfare. Hope the results move us in the right direction.
Dolph,
I tried rebooting. No luck, I guess we are “out of touch “( Hall & Oats) I KNOW…lol…there is ENOUGH puking, upchuck, I really didn’t have to throw that in…LOL…couldn’t resiSSSSSSSt…..call me if important.
Redawn -
It’s not fair. And Dog should know that only black people can call each other the “N” word…..along with the ever so talented rap artists out there.
Let your kids know right now that there is a double standard when it comes right down to it. There is a Negro College Fund, BET TV, Black History month, etc, but don’t EVER try to initiate a Caucasian ANYTHING!
I’ve never used the “n” word in my life, but I find it sad that blacks claim to hate the word, yet probably use it more than anyone else. Sad.

Dog was in prison with black population of 80%. He probably just developed a bad habit and it came back to bite him.
Right, Dog never said the word once before prison. And his use of it directed against a young woman he absolutely didn’t want his son to be with, that was due to prison too. And his reference to how it would be if his daughter were with a black man, that was also grounded in prison.
Please.
The son taping his father to sell the story is ugly behavior as well. They deserve each other.
Are those results FINAL, FINAL or semi-final? Royse is only down by 9….please tell me that’s not final…..
Looks like Jay O’B is squeeking it, Ken Cooch is loosing, and Paul Nichols is ahead…best of luck to the three of them!!!
Nevermind - duh - answered my own question - not final yet -

Did you MEAN to say “Dog”, “black”, and “bite” in the same sentence - lol
manassascityresident @ 9:36pm ,
YES! You are so right. I knew this growing up and respected this.
I had friends that were so called ” other “than white and by the way in Manassas!
To see my TEENAGE daughters ( who by the way have more friends that are ..do not want to use the wrong “description”,then white)
Funny thing is, we have friends of all ethnic backgrounds, skin tones ( we are a bit jealous that we need 50 sunblock
including the parent of my children etc.
We have talked about this and they see the DOUBLE standard.
I am asking, since I seem to like asking : WHY, all the damn time
If some one is out there, WHY? Why has this happened and continues?
I posted a comment on 95ooLiberty about this very point
It seems WHITE people are still to blame for ALL the things in the past and present…all you hear is the white people, and white people can’t handle the BROWNING of America.
We are still seeing the same thing being used today, in regards to ILLEGALS coming in and using white people as the reason….
How fair is this?
Lafayette, or anyone else
Is this the lady one you were talking about? ( I just got done watching fox5r at 10:00 and Greg L was on there and then her as opposites)

She came back with it on the window. This is the lady from Bull Run Mountain, AlanaM(?), she’s spoken several times at Citizen’s Time and she says she married to an ILLEGAL, and one time even lifted her daughter up for them to see.
Interesting tidbit on election returns -
Corey Stewart took Mohican Precinct - which traditionally runs just a tad dem - 55 to 45
Nichols also took Mohican - also by 55 to 45
Also of note, Corey took Potomac View 60 to 40. That’s in Marumsco Acres - traditionally democrat
And Corey only lost Lynn 55 to 45. That precinct is usually a blowout for the democrats. In that precinct Republicans often can’t pull more than 20%.
Can someone please post the link for me to view…

MCR,
What happened to you and your ‘better half”? Y’all took off pretty quickly tonight.
Thought it would be nice to “stop in” and then hit the road to spend some time together for our 15th anniversary - sorry I didn’t get to say good-bye….hey check out Ham - he’s picking up a “little” speed.
Did you just leave?
Stonewall’s numbers
STIRRUP-571/Riley-386 Thank you John Stirrup!!!!
STEWART-628/pandack352 Way to go Corey!!
Sharon, “NO POWER OF FIVE” for you!!!
MILLER-627/rishell-355 Way to go Jackson.
COLGAN-549/Fitz-443. I hope things went better for Bob at other precincts. Stonewall was Colgan’s voting spot for decades.
I was inside the polls for final numbers. If anyone would like the other numbers, let me know.
Lafayette,
How did Ham Sandwich do?
Ham is up to 427 - picking up speed (a little anyway)….
MCR,
OK. We left about 9:00 right after Jackson gave his victory speech. Good for Mr. Ham. He just needs to keep plugging away for the next race.
I hope nobody else is watching channel 8 for the election results, they seem to only cover the races the Dems have won, and have not even talked about Jackson Miller winning or for that matter other house races. Yet, they have mentioned Senate races from the Tidwater area.

Yes, that is her nasty a$$! What a day arrived at 5:30am in pouring rain, the weather improved. I was so happy to such a turnout. I will post pictures of antics from Stonewall tomorrow. I was inside poll watching from 6pm, and there for the final count at 9:45. I did have a three quick trips home to post numbers here.
Ham had 12 write-in, and 23 TOTAL write-in for CA.
The message has been sent! The American people will no longer tolerate illegal aliens in our communities. Great job, Jackson, Corey and John.
manassascityresident,
I’m glad I got to meet you today. Thanks for helping!
It was nice meeting you too, Patty!
mcr,
Thanks, for helping us out in the county at Stonewall, and thanks to your son too.
MCR,
He was his usual humble self. He said he was out raised, out spent, and out worked. However, he said the difference was that he had great people helping him out.

You are very welcome! I can’t believe you stayed at Stonewall Middle ALL DAY LONG!
So, please, allow me to thank YOU for all of YOUR hard work!!!!!!!!!
Don’t know how you do it!

He’s an amazing guy. He could win on class alone. What a gentleman.
Oh gee there is Timmy playing Mr. Non partisan. He is just amazing.
Thanks Channel 8 for also being non partisan.
Hey -
Channel 4 just reported that someone from Manassas reported being intimidated at Stonewall. It is being investigated.
I asked if Jackson Miller received a concession call from Rishell. No. However, I was told that Rishell’s campaign manager called either Jackson or his campaign manager last night and gave him a telephone number to call Rishell to give HIS concession call ROFLMAO I was at Westgate tonight and Rishell was there. Rude, rushing up to voters to introduce herself and came out and said “please vote for me” almost in desperation.
MCR,
Jackson told us his campaign manager went over to Stonewall, and had a run in with the MWB folks. It was pretty funny. It seems the MWB folks were breaking election laws by coaching people how to vote at the machines.
Jeanette was at Dean early this morning and was very smug. I doubt she is feeling the same way now. Jackson opened a can of whoop on her today. Though, I suppose this means she can now spend more time with her illegal aliens friends.

Hey -
Channel 4 just reported that someone from Manassas reported being intimidated at Stonewall. It is being investigated.
Caller who made the allegation did not leave a name. That in itself is suspicious.
Is there a site that combines the PWC and Cities of Man and Park results?
Everyone turn to channel 7 they are doing a story on buying fake documents.
All we need now is a win by Ken and the message becomes LOUD. He is still up 130 with 31 of 39 precincts reporting. The Senate balance will be close, keep fingers crossed for O’Brian down 800 with 30 of 41 precincts reporting in.
After this race, we need to get the message out wider and into mainstream (traditionally democratic media).
To do that and avoid the nutcase scrutiny, the citizens of good character here need to speak with upmost respect for all people who are here legally and continue to re-assure them the issue is only about illegal immigration and certain militant members among them who are militant crackpots, and ethnic hate groups and spewing supremacy hatred in the media by advocating and caring only about their own ethnic group. We need to educate everyone in the country this is about ethnic civility and continued civil rights progress to stop ALL advocation for special racial, gender, religious and ethnic group privileges and political voting by race, religion, gender and ethn ic group. The liberal media does not get or understand the seriousness of that message from the majority population of decent people.
Close to Final numbers for Colgan/FItz:
If you combo the PWC website info with the State Run Website info, you get all but one precinct in: So for the 29th (including both Cities):
Colgan - 20190 votes (54%)
Fitz - 17010 votes (46%)
Precincts in=43 of 44 (97.7%)
Same for Nichols/Gill:
Nichols: 5897 votes (52%)
Gill: 5465 votes (48%)
Precincts in = 15 of 16 (93.75%)
I’m glad to see Gill take a nosedive. Some democrats make good conservative democrats. Some Republicans are an embarassment for the republican party (AMC? you might as well openly support terrorism).
I checked out all the candidates funding sources and large contributors. Gill’s is very suspicious.
Looks like Ken will win. up 100 with 38 of 39 precincts reporting.
I was just checking out Fairfax County results. Did I miss something? How is it that Pat Herrity got 0 votes? Did he pull out of the race or something? How do you get no votes? Something must be wrong with the site.
With democrats gaining control of the Senate we now have a state fight on our hands of the scale and magnitude of the US Senate. Only education and pressure of the same nature as what we did to the US Senate will gain positive results for the Nation. Our task is now to educate democrat voters why the 80’s approach to feel good government will result in national disaster. My congratulation to them, but that just rachet’s up the need for sensibility and common sense to be debated even more openly than before.
Winners:
State Senate:
29th Colgan
36th Puller
39th Barker (51%)

Check out ALL my posts on Gill in his race for the Republican nomination against Julie Lucas. You will see that it was I who discovered the money laundering organization, the multiple out of town/state (around 100%) donations, the Navy regulations that he is in violation of, etc.
You will ALSO see the attacks on me and how his supporters kept calling me a racist for exposing the TRUTH!!!
The race is not over, but I have been praying all night for Pauls victory!!!
Sucks being Pat Herrity right now with that software crisis going on…GEEZE!!!
I believe you are right John.
Jeannemarie Devolites Davis now knows what happens to Republicans when they run as Liberals!!! Losing 54-45%!!!
I think Chris Royse needs to pay Steve Keen a visit and THANK YOU PWC for your votes for Jay O’Brien!!!
I’m seeing Jay O’Brien as the winner. Were did you get Barker?
Jay is losing in Fairfax County!!!
Paul Nichols won - CONGRATULATIONS PAUL NICHOLS AND THE 51ST DISTRICT!!!
I wrote in Ham Sandwich at Kilby, and now SBE shows zero write-ins for this precinct on the Commonwealth’s Attorney race. Either I don’t know how to work an electronic voting machine (but the summary at the end looked all right) or there’s a teensy weensy problem.
“We don’t like Illegals” and last night our area sent out this message.
The days of sitting idle while illegals run destruction on our communities are now OVER!
P.S.
Lets get the ICE thing started NOW!
Coupla comments:
Rob: I was at the Mullen Poll the entire time and never saw any intimidation, show of force, etc., by MWB. You should not start rumors. Worst behavior I experienced was the Colgan poll worker (his secretary, btw,) castigating me for having a “Dump Colgan” bumper sticker on my van. I wonder if she was collecting her state pay while campaigning for him.
PWC Republican Committee: It’s a friggin’ joke. Republicans get elected in this county in spite of this disorganized frat boy’s club.
Some of the regular bloggers on this site should have been at the polls working instead of at home blogging. If you can’t walk da walk you shouldn’t talk da talk.
For more reasons than I care to go into, I’m convinced Colgan and all associated with him are POS’s.
We got a lotta work to do.
RR, is it possible that some Registrars took it upon themselves to decline to note a vote for what they perceive to be an inanimate object? That’s actually wrong…they have no right to do that! I believe HAM PAC should demand an investigation. If you don’t mind, and if there is anyone else out there who believes that their vote may not have been counted, please email Greg the particulars (name, precinct, estimated time of vote, etc.) and I’m sure that he will pass it on to the PAC and I’m sure it will be dealt with.
My wife and I both voted for Ham Sandwich. I voted around 8:00 am at Weems ES. My wife voted sometime around noon at Weems. I also know of others that voted for Ham Sandwich. In today’s WashPost they show 100% of precincts reporting 100% of the vote for Ebert. How can that be?
Something is not right - I and several of my neighbors also voted for Ham. Ebert could (should) NOT have been shown receiving 100% of the votes.
