Go Out And Vote!

By Greg L | 6 November 2007 | Prince William County | 29 Comments

Today is the day when the American Citizen has that rare opportunity to take their country back. In Prince William County, the electorate has a clear opportunity to demonstrate to not only our fellow citizens in Prince William, but for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the entire United States that when citizens stand up to the interests that support illegal aliens, they win. We win. Our elected officials who stick up for us win.

Today is a referendum in many ways on the illegal alien issue and how it is to be addressed. Candidates such as John Stirrup and Corey Stewart have taken the concerns expressed by citizens to heart, and knowing that it was the right thing to do to ensure the preservation of the rule of law, worked hard to pass some important legislation recently. Delegates Jackson Miller, Bob Marshall, Jeff Frederick and Scott Lingamfelter, along with Senators Jay O’Brien and Ken Cuccinelli have been working hard for years to make progress on this issue before it was really at the top of voter’s minds. Candidates such as Chris Royse and Bob Fitzsimmonds are going to work hard for us on this if they get elected. We need all of these folks. Every one of them.

If the results turn out the way I think they will, and we win and win big, this is going to run like a tidal wave through the next session of the General Assembly. For years, bills addressing this issue that should have passed have been blocked in the Senate despite overwhelming support in the House of Delegates. These will roll to the Governor’s desk, where Tim Kaine will finally have to go on record on this, and most likely, the pressure will be so great that he’ll sign these into law, and we can finally start taking action at the state and local level to address this huge problem of illegal aliens unlawfully residing in our communities. We would follow on the heels of Oklahoma’s historic initiatives, giving momentum to a national effort to finally address the prospect of 20 million illegal aliens living amongst us, not by granting amnesty, but by demanding that our laws are respected.

If you stay home and hope someone else will carry the weight for you, and enough of your neighbors do the same, the opposite will happen. County policy towards illegal aliens will be in part decided by Sharon Pandak, Corey Riley and Frank Principi, all whom oppose any efforts to have illegal aliens held accountable for their unlawful behavior. The headlines will trumpet a severe setback for the movement to ensure the rule of law is respected, and we will do little more than engage in endless public forums from now on to learn how we should display the required level of compassion to illegal aliens, provide them with public benefits at taxpayer expense, and shield them from federal law enforcement. The clear message would be that elected officials that go to bat for citizens on this issue will be punished, and replaced with social justice activists such as Jeanette Rishell, Corey Riley and Bruce Roemmelt.

The illegal alien lobby is energized and working hard to try to deal a setback to Prince William County. What stands between that and regaining our communities from the impacts of illegal aliens is how many votes you can personally deliver at the polls today. It’s not just you who needs to vote today, it’s everyone you know who needs to vote as well. I’ll be making the six hour trek back to town today in time to vote after helping to arrange for my mother-in-law’s funeral and support my wife’s family during a very rough time, understanding full well that I just might have to turn around and head back if needed. I’m going to make it to the polls today. Please make the effort to do so as well, and bring some good folks with you.

Greg is right. This is a battle for our county. We need Miller, Fitzsimmonds, Stewart, Stirrup, May and Royse. If the opposition wins then you might as well wave the Mexican flag.

Yes, the Republicans have served us so well since 2000. Let’s see…bogged down in a war we cannot get out of, millions more illegal aliens coming across our unsecured borders, TPS renewed year after year for El Salvadorans, scandal after scandal…the list goes on.

By George! I think they deserve another chance. [sarcasm button going off now]

I don’t think so. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Of course, readers should be aware that today is Republican voting day. If you’re voting for Miller, Fitzsimmonds, and/or Stewart, you should go to the polls today. Tomorrow will be Democrat voting day, the polls will open at 7 AM sharp for Democratic voters - but don’t make the mistake of voting today.

(This is a joke by the way. Al Franken told the same joke during his 1992 Election Night coverage, and he wasn’t arrested, so I assume I won’t be either).

Border agents Compean and Ramos were imprisoned for shooting an illegal alien drug smuggler in the butt. What a national disgrace. Mexican flag rhetoric and taunts don’t explain away this outrage.

    Very intelligent response Patty.

Instead of defending your party’s leadership or reocgnizing the damage done to our country by these people you attack the messenger.

Get your head out of the sand and think for a change.

    Matt,

Dolph consistently attacks Republicans even though they will do something about illegal aliens. Her comments to me in other threads haven’t been too kind. Really, if you vote democratic you will be voting for the illegal alien apologists. Look at the previous thread about the illegal sample ballot put out by John Steinbach. It shows exactly who Mexicans Without Borders support. It really says it all.

Ha ha. And if you vote Republican, you’ll be voting for and enabling the party that supports George Bush’s money-wasting war…a bigger waste of our tax money than your “illegal aliens” consume. BTW, I’m a ticket-splitting Independent.

Yes, if you vote democratic in this election, you will be voting for the illegal alien apologists. Look at the illegal sample ballot put out by John Steinbach (previous thread). It is no secret that all the candidates that Mexicans Without Borders support are democrats. It’s that simple.

You are wrong, look at past History, the liberals will allow all to come in across our borders and then raise our taxes to pay for all of them.

Not all Republicans likes what our President is doing. We need to conquer the Borders and the Illegals coming in and changing our County and Country
    NOW.

Alot of Republicans have gone to Independant, but that doesn’t mean they will vote for any Independent.

The Democrats that I hear from, like Barg will not solve our local influx of illegals. She can’t even take care of the hangouts at Rt. One and the Parkway. She also can’t control the large numbers in the houses.

She can’t say no. to those who cry and want more food stamps and social services.

Brown has advocated for gambling halls for years. He does nothing to improve the quality of life. But says he wants our vote. Don’t be fooled,he’s a Democrat but a very liberal one at that.

Right wing Republicans are grand masters of The Big Lie.

Democrats are to blame for illegal immigration?

How long did W. have a GOP House and Senate? What
did they do about illegal immigration? Come on, think
hard. You got it– nothing. And who was the President
who pushed for amnesty most recently —
yes, your golden boy REPUBLICAN George W. Bush!

Immigration is best handled by the federal government,
but REPUBLICAN BUSH and his cronies only push
    amnesty or nothing.

Republicans are not the party of God and they certainly
aren’t the party of controlling illegal immigration.

Voting for FitzSimmons is voting for a Bush party hack.

People, stop and think about the impact of a democratic party that would condon and support “illegal” activity, and the impact of a democratic party that would compartmentalize all our laws into laws that support gender, racial, ethnic and religious group “factions” special interests and those laws that don’t support gender, racial, ethnic and religious group special interests. Under a party philosophy such as this we will all become members of “factions” aligned along these lines to oppress all others not voting with us as a group. We will beg for corporate support for just our “own” kind. This is the essence of an aristocracy and corruption that James Madison in framing the constitution was so fearful of. Why do you think he supported a weak national government and STRONG state government? (he later changed this view when he had to go to war with France as a President).

He knew that special interest groups with corporate funding would create an elite aristocracy and take power away from the people, and corruption would be rampant. YES the right wing side of the Republican party did elect the wrong person, who did use (and some say abuse) the power of the executive branch to do whatever he and his staff cronies wanted (In my opinion as far right radicals, also a religious group “faction”), BUT the greater danger TODAY is in letting special interest ethnic groups get supportive and sympathetic POWERS into the state government, that will divide and fracture the nation into bands of hateful, militant social groups, advocating the overthrow of constitutional principal and rule of law in favor of “faction” group political favoritism. The issue today is not about who the next PRESIDENT is going to be and who should lead the Nation, but about who should lead our communities, what kind of ethics they should have, and what kind of America (A socialist state, and likely a facist state if a criminal element comes to power) will they create in the next 10 years. Republicans historically favor stong central government, but this vote is about a strong state government and local community government, looking out for the security, financial health and general welfare of ALL its citizens, not just the ones you ethnically favor.

WE can solve the GW problem, by putting a strong “centrist” leader into the presidency in two years and negate the damage the Bush administration has done, but Hillary and the existing democrats as far left radicals are as bad or worse than the far right religious radicals currently in government.

What do you think Hillary or other democrats would have done about this war with IRAQ? I doubt it would have had any different outcome. If she did nothing, which I think some of you democrats advocate, and “inaction” was taken, then we would see an even STRONGER and militant SADDAM, with the 4th largest army in the world, as a minority group faction oppressing the majority group faction, a stronger right wing radical religious movement to spread hatred, oppression, and anger around the world and a RISE in world hatred aligned along ethnic groups. We all know strength “speak softly and carry a big stick” and DIPLOMACY “treat all people in the world as your brother, unless they are mean, ugly, and uncaring of ALL humanity due to their intense anger and hatred of all racial, gender, ethnic and religious groups not like their own, is the only way to resolve this world-wide conflict peacefully. In local terms beat the crap out of the bully if he hits your sister, and then be civil and caring to him when he cries. The conflict is between those who hate all others not of their own ethnic, gender, racial and religious group and those who don’t. Which side do you think is wise to take on this vote? What vote will you cast that will affect your children’s security and general welfare?

That is the risk we take and the future we forge with the outcome of this election vote.

It is sad to me we live in a country and condone behavior where a person of one ethnic group roams around trying to get all the other members of her ethnic group to vote for her, and we think that is just OK.

    Dolph,

I can understand why you are not happy with some members of the GOP. However, the Dems would do a worse job on immigration, the economy, and National security.

The Dems want to provide illegals with driver licenses and amnesty. They want to raise taxes.

Also, what war are we “bogged” down in? I did not realize wars came with end dates ahead of time. Seems to me the war is going pretty good know, though you would not realize that by listening to the MSM and the Dems.

    COM,

I am an Independent and judge each candidate pretty much by his/her own merits or demerits.

I don’t think the Democrats could do a worse job on immigration than Bush has.

The economy- Bush spends money like it is going out of style. We have a huge deficit that grows by billions per week. The stock market has been like a roller coaster this year mainly because of oil, housing, and sub prime lending. Interest rates are still low though. There’s a plus.

National security- not sure on that one either. Part of National Security to me involves immigration. It is imperative that we know who is in this country and we dont. Homeland security is a multi-headed monster. Can’t give kudos there.

Now, I am not saying that the Democrats would necessarily do a great job with any of those topics you listed. However, no was was presenting a straight democratic ticket and trumpeting that we all should be voting for them. I would probably not like that much better either.

I do not discuss the war. I do not agree with either major position on it. As for funding, obviously the Democrats are not in agreement on this issue.

I mostly dislike twisting words and mischaracterizing any candidate regardless of party. There has been too much of that this election. I respect your right to vote however you chose without having to listen to a bunch of crap from me. That just seems to me to be the American way.

    Dolph,

Listen to what the Dems have said on illegal immigration. Once you get past Bush, there are very Repubs who want to grant amnesty. Who do you think blocked the amnesty bill the last two years? Not the Dems. Had the Dems had their way, they would have passed the amnesty bill.

Many local and State wide Dems do not even think there is a problem with illegal immigration. Look at the Virginia Senate, they block most of the illegal immigration bills passed by the House.

Do you think the Dems can control spending? Hillary’s health care program, the tax increases are not just to soak the rich, but to spend more….

National security… recall what Edwards said about the war on terrorism, it is just a bumper sticker slogan. Many Dems do not think we have a thing to worry about terrorism.

Don’t get me wrong, I do think there are bad repubs, but a bad Repub is better then the best Dem.
