You know what, I have yet in my 41 years on this earth have ever had anyone above House of Delegates come to my house knocking on my door. These are people, Patty, just like you and me. Yes, knocking one someone’s door IS a good thing, I won’t knock that (no pun intended), but the fact is you can’t please everyone. If he HAD knocked on your door, would you have given him the 20 questions? You don’t have to answer that because in truth, you don’t know, you just know what you THINK you would do (just like I can’t say how I would react if a pol knocked on my door, but I have a general idea).

Ok, the guy won. Now it is time to work with him and see that he does what is right for the community and let it be known that if he goes against the will of the people, his days are numbered. Just like that idiot Jim Webb was able to defeat an honorable man in George Allen who had a stellar record (CNN announced ALLEN’S name first as a Rep contender for President with NO negatives on Bush’s 2nd swearing in) so too can Colgan be replaced by an able candidate who is willing to listen to the will of the people.

There are roughly 120,000 voters in the district he didn’t knock on every door. You had a FitzSimmonds sign out front, why would hte guy stop at your house.

Civic organization are not typically driven by one party or the other. They focus on inclusion not exclusion. Greg is a Republican Hack his loyalties clearly are with the Republican party first.

You saw Corey get 700 more votes than Jay O’brien in the Occoquan district.

And Paul Nichols got 137 more votes that Gill.

That is a lot of split ticket voting.

On the other hand Jay O’brien did get some flak for the Virginia driver abuser fees and was targeted by all sorts or liberals.

Colgan did not come to my part of the neighborhood during the campaign. He also did not come to the candidate’s forum which was at Stonewall Middle. Just having family members at Sudley doesn’t count. I know some long time Colgan supporters on my street who voted for Bob because they felt like Mr. Colgan has abandoned them. It sure would be nice if he came door to door even now to find out about our neighborhood. It sure would go a long way.

So, I and others in Westgate are extending an invitation to you Senator Colgan to come to our neighborhood not just the school. You can come door to door. Even Jeanette Rishell managed to do that. So, I would think you would be able to come door to door also. We don’t live but a block or two from your old house.

Given that HSM had two canidates forums and failed to invite him, I doubt HSM is going to give you much traction. As I told you in previous thread in order for HSM to be taken seriously you need to act as if your a legitmate civic organization. Holding fake forums doesn’t help your cause.

I will never forget the way his voice cracked as he spoke of this community. At the election celebration the Senator mentioned it again and yes a lot of people from Westgate and Sudley attended. Nobody in his family especially him have forgotten where they came from, Westgate.

The Illegal Immigration issue is relatively knew and every part of Government needs to take some action to resolve.
