We agree. Rishell, she's all about bad form all right.
Good, now please stop by or email. We have way more in common in our beliefs than I think you might realize.
Now, when will you and Patty be ready for the 100 yard
dash? I asked you both.-lol
Damn those Skins!! I hope you had fun just the same:)

AWC said and I heard it this year going door to door. It is considered bad form to go "behind a sign". Rishelle doing it, bad form is what she's all about.

Patty wrote "Colgan did not come to my part of the neighborhood during the campaign. He also did not come to the candidate’s forum which was at Stonewall Middle."

You know what, I have yet in my 41 years on this earth have ever had anyone above House of Delegates come to my house knocking on my door. These are people, Patty, just like you and me. Yes, knocking one someone's door IS a good thing, I won't knock that (no pun intended), but the fact is you can't please everyone. If he HAD knocked on your door, would you have given him the 20 questions? You don't have to answer that because in truth, you don't know, you just know what you THINK you would do (just like I can't say how I would react if a pol knocked on my door, but I have a general idea).

Ok, the guy won. Now it is time to work with him and see that he does what is right for the community and let it be known that if he goes against the will of the people, his days are numbered. Just like that idiot Jim Webb was able to defeat an honorable man in George Allen who had a stellar record (CNN announced ALLEN'S name first as a Rep contender for President with NO negatives on Bush's 2nd swearing in) so too can Colgan be replaced by an able candidate who is willing to listen to the will of the people.

Billyboy,
I agree all doors won't be knocked on with a district that size. I will tell you a Miller sign in the yard didn't stop Ms. Rishell. I've got a friend in the City, and Ms Rishell knocked on her door, she knocked on mine, and Patty's too. Her camp called my mom 3 times a day for a week, and that was after she'd told Ms. Rishell's camp to stop calling. My mom has always been a die hard Dem.
Patty,
I really think you need to tone down some. Chuck is our Senator, and he deserves respect for that. I will be calling Chuck over the weekend. Calm down. The elections are over, and votes have been counted. We must move on and forward. We need Chuck to work with us. I suggest you, as Billyboy did me, write Chuck a letter, and invite in a calm and reasonable manner. Then I'm sure you will get the visit you want.
******************************************
I'm so sick of all of this at this point. I'm ready to stop posting here, and considering not reading anymore too. I really don't want to do either of things.

Patty,

There are roughly 120,000 voters in the district he didn't knock on every door. You had a FitzSimmonds sign out front, why would hte guy stop at your house.

Gone Fishing,

Civic organization are not typically driven by one party or the other. They focus on inclusion not exclusion. Greg is a Republican Hack his loyalties clearly are with the Republican party first.

Greg,

Roger Snyder told me they knew nothing about it, until I sent him an e-mail. How involved do you really think the PWCDC was in Colgan's race. Colgan has his own poll workers, door knockers and staff. I'll bet you even checked with your good buddy Bob before picking the date.

Get over yourself. Your the one who is not out in the community. I did not see you picking up trash on one of Mr. Stirup's clean up days....but I saw members of the Colgan family helping.

Billyboy, what makes you think that HSM is not legitimate?
Are you a member? I'll admit that I am not yet a member,
but I can see and appreciate the good that the organization
has accomplished thus far. I do plan to join HSM and to
also attend the meetings.

Did Gill being in the race cost the GOP the state senate?

And reapportionment for the next ten years?

You saw Corey get 700 more votes than Jay O'brien in the Occoquan district.

And Paul Nichols got 137 more votes that Gill.

That is a lot of split ticket voting.

On the other hand Jay O'brien did get some flak for the Virginia driver abuser fees and was targeted by all sorts or liberals.

Lafayette,

Colgan did not come to my part of the neighborhood during the campaign. He also did not come to the candidate's forum which was at Stonewall Middle. Just having family members at Sudley doesn't count. I know some long time Colgan supporters on my street who voted for Bob because they felt like Mr. Colgan has abandoned them. It sure would be nice if he came door to door even now to find out about our neighborhood. It sure would go a long way.

So, I and others in Westgate are extending an invitation to you Senator Colgan to come to our neighborhood not just the school. You can come door to door. Even Jeanette Rishell managed to do that. So, I would think you would be able to come door to door also. We don't live but a block or two from your old house.

Not trying to set you straight. Just stating the facts.
Around election season you know who your friends are by the signs in their yards. I don't know if he did or didn't come down your street, but I'm sure he knows you decided to support Bob.

I e-mailed Dolph and she sent me something back but my e-mail is acting up. I'll try to get yours from her.

Time to work together. Write Chuck a letter and tell him of your concerns and what you would like to see done. Given that HSM had two canidates forums and failed to invite him, I doubt HSM is going to give you much traction. As I told you in previous thread in order for HSM to be taken seriously you need to act as if your a legitmate civic organization. Holding fake forums doesn't help your cause.

Billyboy,
Well, thank you for setting me straight. Well, he didn't visit any old neighbors on Lafayette.
I agree he's not going to promise what he can't deliver. Please, don't misunderstand me. I hope you saw I did congratulate him above. I would never disrespect Chuck. I only stated what I knew. My mom and I both saw his sign at Stonewall reading friend of WestGate for 40years. I saw several others taking note of it. Perhaps, I'm just blinded by passion on the immigration issue. Let me know. Why don't you email ole Dolph and tell her to give you my email address. I'll still be here too.
I truly hope we see improvements here. I hope more Jackson's bills get passed, and make it out of committee in Richmond. Do you think is willing to form a partnership of sorts with Jackson like he had with Harry?

I agree he’s not going to promise what he can’t deliver. Please, don’t misunderstand me. I hope you saw I did congratulate him above. I would never disrespect Chuck. I only stated what I knew. My mom and I both saw his sign at Stonewall reading friend of WestGate for 40years. I saw several others taking note of it. Perhaps, I’m just blinded by passion on the immigration issue. Let me know. Why don’t you email ole Dolph and tell her to give you my email address. I’ll still be here too.
I truly hope we see improvements here. I hope more Jackson’s bills get passed, and make it out of committee in Richmond. Do you think is willing to form a partnership of sorts with Jackson like he had with Harry?

Wilson’s Meat is Catlett, on the right heading south on Route 28.

Actually, Wilson's is on the left side. The farm is on the right but the butcher shop is on the left side of the road. Turn left at the light at the intersection in Catlett. You can see the building on the left. It has Wilson's painted on the roof.

Lafayette,

Good Evening, yes he himself walked Lomond Dr. alone knocking on doors, I saw him and stopped to speak with him.
He also told me he had visited a couple of his old neighbors
on Strausburg.

I don't know if you attended the funeral service for Agnes but his son Ray even talked about the great people of Westgate.
I will never forget the way his voice cracked as he spoke of this community. At the election celebration the Senator mentioned it again and yes a lot of people from Westgate and Sudley attended. Nobody in his family especially him have forgotten where they came from, Westgate.

You and your Mom know Chuck and you know he is not going to over promise and under deliver. As he said (which got Patty so upset) He is not going to make a promise he cannot keep.
The Illegal Immigration issue is relatively knew and every part of Government needs to take some action to resolve.

Good Leaders inspire, motivate, and unite. Corey Stewart has done nothing but divide our county.
