If you make false, derogatory remarks about another person you are opening the door to a slander lawsuit. If the remarks are made over the airwaves, it becomes libel. Sooo…if you are not SURE that your comments are truthful, don’t make them!

Don’t try Pike’s Peak until after May. Was in CS year before last in April and road up the Peak was closed due to snow. Snowed every for a week albiet not much but enough to close the road. Son’s house is stone’s throw from the peak and has a nice view from his dining room.

Since it’s impossible to tell a person’s immigration status by simply looking at them, could it be that Josh really means it’ll be nice to get away from anyone hispanic?

I didn’t. I wish I had. We did visit Garden of the Gods, old Colorado Springs, drove all through Estes Park, went horseback riding a couple of times ……there is just so much to do there, and it is so OPEN - BIG SKY country! And there are no bugs! And no humidity! I think CO is becoming quite the retirement spot. Next time we go out (hopefully, spring break), I hope to do some skiing. Hopefully, you’ll be able to get to Pikes Peak soon (no offense, Rover)…

Well, I was simply amazed in the restaurants, stores, and even driving through construction sites while looking at new homes, etc. by the amount of English speaking people. Have a super time, Josh! I’m sure you will love it there!

josh - When you get back from your stay in the nice hotel in Colorado, give us a report on who made the beds and washed the dishes. What makes you think all the worker bees in Colorado speak English? Do all Colorado hotels check their employees’ documents? “illigals don’t roam all over….”. Maybe Aspen and Vail have all English speaking employees. Will be interesting to get your report. Don’t forget!

I’m going to colorado this winter to catch up on some skiing with the family, I think we deserve a nice break and I cant think of anywhere better to do it. Going to stay in a nice hotel with child care and a lift….and enjoy a place where the illegals dont roam all over the damn place with impunity. That in and of itself will be awesome, I cant wait to order dinner and get someone who speaks english. I dont agree with Tancredo on a few things, but I sure do agree with his illegal immigration stance.

I visited Colorado too in August and it is beautiful. However, Tancredo is anything but. He has no vision. Would you REALLY like to see him as Commander in Chief? The mere idea gives me hives.

Anon 12:45, while Jacobsen writes a column for the Daily Fishwrap … er, Potomac News, the piece at issue was in the Washington Post (back page of the Sunday Outlook section), so Krusty is correct to wonder how it got in the WaPo.

It would be interesting to find out if it were something that the local paper refused to publish (perhaps for the very reasons why Core criticized it), and whether Jacobsen then farmed out to the WaPo.

Certainly, when I was writing for the Pot. News, I would have given it right of first refusal on any political column that I write. Indeed, it used to be that the paper refused to publish letters that had been submitted to another journal.
