Hire Illegal Aliens, Pay $7 Million
By Greg L | 16 November 2007 | Illegal Aliens, Crime | 49 Comments
Employers who knowingly employ illegal aliens should be paying attention to cases such as these, as I imagine something like this would be a real burden to a business, outweighing any short-term gain that using illegal aliens in a workforce would provide. No mention is made of the criminal penalties that could be involved, as I imagine these were dropped as part of the plea agreement, but these folks could have been faces with a twenty year prison sentence.
The owners of a Newport News commercial fishing company face nearly $7 million in fines after being charged with employing more than 100 illegal immigrants over four years.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Peabody Corp. president William Peabody and vice president Yvonne Peabody have agreed to plead guilty.
Prosecutors say the Peabodys knowingly employed 126 undocumented workers and disregarded warnings about the illegal activity from federal authorities.
Let’s hope these enforcement actions continue. We need to be demonstrating to business that breaking the law has serious consequences, otherwise the encouragement for illegal aliens to unlawfully reside in Virginia will never go away.
ICE, go get some.

Traitors that should be executed imo. 7 million is too easy on them.
I read in the paper that the ACLU will be asking for voting information . The county and the Pot News should also [through FOI] ask for the names of those who are filing charges,
Got e-Verify?
The real traitors are the ones that outed CIA agent Valerie Plame. Should they be executed?

Remember that company in Maine that was raided several months ago? Over a hundred illegal workers were taken away. Too bad I can’t remember the plant’s name (chicken or meat of some kind), but its headquarters are in Colorado (Tancredo’s state!). Guess what, the company hardly got a slap on the wrist while the peons were led away in plastic “arm bands” and some kids in town wondered where their parents were that night. Wonder how come that company didn’t get hit?
park’d has a very violent streak. I’d watch him. (if I knew who he was) He’d probably be a happy head hewer!
I might take that as a compliment if I knew what a happy head hewer was!
A human guillotine, FYI.
Krusty:
Thanks for reminding me. This weekend is the National Gun Show at the Dulles Convention Center. Last time I got something real nice in a 9 mm. Take cash and plenty of ID to prove your (legal) Virginia residency. I’ll be looking for an AK with a collapsible stock this time to complement my SKS. One can never have too much firepower.
Oh, but shooting is so messy and you might miss your target. I definitely prefer decapitating. It’s so PRECISE somehow. And then you can use the head as a hood ornament on your gunrack equipped pick-up Neato!
Yuck, this is getting gory. Let’s quit, OK?
SoV - I’ve always found the Nation’s Gun Show to have a good selection - by virtue of sheer volume - but the prices are higher. I’ve always had better luck with the local dealers in Manassas with regard to cost.
Good luck on your AK. I’m looking for an M-Forgery myself.
What do you guys DO with your guns?
Krusty - I target shoot for fun. I also keep a few at the ready in the event of a home invasion.
If you ever want to come shoot with us, let me know.
Krusty,
“A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined,
but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a
status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them,
which would include their own government.”
–George Washington
Smalls, I have AR-10 from Armalite, nice weapon but man has price on .223 really shot up over the past 8 months.
Patriot Tempt - got e-verify!!! I got it. good fill in.
Rob, please be careful about inviting Krusty to go shooting
with you. It may not be safe (for you). When he starts
talking about decapitation, makes me wonder if he is a
Muslem.
Thanks, One Voice.
Thumper - Tell me about it. It almost makes 30 round mags not worth it. Almost.
Krusty is afraid of guns. He would have a dialogue with an intruder.
Who has two thumbs and loves the 2nd Amendment?
THIS GUY!
I am not sure being afraid of guns is a bad thing. I think that fear is directly proportional to which end of the gun you are looking at also. The business end of a gun should definitely be feared.
Krusty uses a BFP (big frying pan).
Dolph - Not fear, but a healthy and responsible respect for the capability they grant. No one should fear a gun, only the intentions of those who use them.
Yes, Krusty did say that was her weapon of choice…and I AM afraid! I once saw a woman knock a rather large police officer into the middle of next week with a frying pan! BFP! Go Krusty go!
Rob,
I think that is 2nd amendment-speak for those who have guns as a way of life. For those of us who don’t, the word fear works. (and I grew up around guns–I just didn’t have access to them) It is just a different perspective.
Definitely weapon of my choice :). I used to be pretty good at target shooting. Was on my high school teem 100 years ago. It’s a lot of fun, but I have advanced to darts. Cheaper by far!
And a lot less noisy.
sorry TEAM!
Anytime you want to take it up again, Krusty, I would be happy to facilitate your reintroduction to the marvelous world of the bang-bang.
Dolph - I can understand your perspective. My wife shares it as well. The first time I brought a handgun home and cleaned it, I dry-fired it to make sure the pistol had been re-assembled properly. I pointed it away from both of us and - CLICK! She almost jumped out of her skin, despite having just watched me take the gun apart and put it back together with nary a bullet to be found. She’s a lot more at ease with it now, as she understands the method. I’m trying to get her to the range with me, and she’s indicated an interest in going.
I hope she does, because those guns are every bit of a benefit to her as they are to me.
I recall a personal defense program citing that most trained people will hit center body mass 17% of the time. My weapon of choice is my mouth - followed by a baseball bat.
We have guns and I’ve discovered that my fear was due to lack of knowledge. Once I became familiar with various guns I was more comfortable. I was also comfortable with my husband showing our son about them as well at an early age. You never know what these kids will discover when they are out and about and I thought it would be helpful for him to have enough knowledge to know what he might be dealing with, what to do and what not to do if he thinks he finds a gun and so forth.
If I had the time to unlock the gun and get it loaded, I think I would use it if I was in a situation - if I thought that was the only thing that would save my son.
One Voice,
Home/self defense firearms are never locked up and are always ready to go. Keep it in a good holster that covers the trigger guard.
Children can be trained.
Do you lock up your kitchen knives? How about your car keys?
Amen to car keys for 16-18 yr olds. Considering that stabbings are getting more common, I’m with you on the knives too. Knives are easily concealed and cost a lot less than guns+ammo, and knives don’t need silencers! Scary as inferno.
Rob,
Some of us just aren’t heat packers. I am a gun owner. I have gone to the range. It just isn’t me. I would probably feel differently if I didn’t live in suburbia. I also don’t want guns around kids. 2 of my friends have both had near accidents because the kids didn’t do as they had been taught. Both of the fathers were major 2nd amendment guys. I don’t trust kids, even with gun locks.

Poison tipped, I assume?
Anonymous 3:16 - Funny that you’re is the only one who commented on that!
Sheez; forget the “is”.
“This weekend is the National Gun Show at the Dulles Convention Center. ”
I’ll be there!
So what are you buying? You must be doing pretty well if you can spend your discretionary income on guns. Lucky duck!
Krusty said on 16 Nov 2007 at 5:55 pm:
“So what are you buying?”
Don’t know yet. I’m Christmas shopping for myself!
Probably a case of 9mm ammo. And I’ll be looking for a Glock (model 30 or 36) or perhaps a Springfield XD45. Looking for a good deal.
“You must be doing pretty well if you can spend your discretionary income on guns. Lucky duck!”
So? Look, you throw darts. I shoot targets. Same thing, except probably the price of the ammo.
And I far from being well-off. But I do allow myself a few toys from time to time.
It’s all about priorities, Krusty. Some people restore cars. Some people mountain bike. Some people ballroom dance. Me? I love putting holes in the paper at hypersonic speed.
OK Rob - Happy shopping and hole-putting; have a nice weekend.

That’s it? You let it end there!?!
Bwahahahahaha.
I read many posts on the net from Compassion concerned Citizens advocating Amnesty and even open borders! (Not to be confused with Politicians because they are not supporting Illegal Aliens out of misplaced compassion the Democrat look at them as Undocumented Democrat voter & the Republicans as cheap Labor for their Corp. Masters.) Many label any of us concerned about both as racist, & worse. I can certainly understand their Compassion. I have lived in third world counties & seen the horrible conditions they live with, hunger & poverty on a scale most Americans cannot imagine. In fact, if I could have ignored the hungry kids begging I would probably still be living there. But I made the same mistakes there that many of the Amnesty and open borders advocates are making here. At first I gave a few coins to the little filthy starving kids living on the streets, after all it cost me so little and did so much for them. But the next day where there had been three there would be 10 the day after 50 until it got to the point where it was impossible for me to help. If I had given them everything I had it would have helped them 1 day and put me in their condition. The USA gives Billions in foreign aid, we take in more legal Immigrates then the rest of the world combined. But no matter how Compassion we are we cannot ignore economics 101 we cannot become the welfare state for the world with our open borders and an unlimited supply of virtually slave labor. We are lowering the standard of living for all working Americans by both decreasing the wages and increasing the social costs & damage to this Nation in every area from, Crime, Corruption of our Politicians, Business leaders, Pollution, Energy use, Water, Congestion, Welfare, Medical costs, Insurance, destroying our kids education and adding billions to the cost etc. There are those that say the solution is simple give them amnesty so they will pay taxes etc. However, Illegal Aliens have an average of a 6 grade Education which compares to a 3 grade education even by our very poor education standards. So they are averaging consuming 3 dollars in social services for every dollar they pay in. With their high birth rate and low income nearly all will get income tax credit from 1500 to 3200 returned every year & come nowhere near paying in enough to pay the average 7K to 10K each year costs to send their children to school. Their School drop out rate exceeds 50% so we are adding millions to the Gangs and Welfare rolls. Considering inflation the Average income for Americans has been decreasing every year for the last 20 years! In the long run trying to be compassion and help the illegals pouring across our open borders helps no one and hurts all. Nothing is accomplished by turning this into another third world nation which is already started & if we give this Amnesty for the far more number quoted of 12 millions by the Government & all there chain immigration we are looking at adding probably at least 100 million of poorly educated Citizens an underclass that will quickly become unsustainable. Then you will see riots and fires burning from coast to coast! Far better to close our borders and if necessary pay every Illegal Aliens here 100k to return to their home country and/or start a Marshall plan for Latin American!
Paragraphs are your friends.
Case study: How did the US rise out of the povery of the 1800’s.?
Why did the rest of the world, not rise out of poverty?
A good video “Guns, Steel and Viruses, explains the technical advantages, but not the poverty reduction. The rise of unions explains, some, the free market concepts more.
Bottom line: government funded research to think tanks, military, space programs and payment of entreprenuers to buy the smartest talent.
Paying smart people what they are worth, and then paying living wages to all others in the labor support force, raise the community standards of living. Poor neighborhoods remain poor due to lack of education, lack of innovation and motivation, high crime, and lack of investment in the smartest people in those communities by entreprenuers.
This does not happen open in other countries, where everyone demands a large social handout, the governent has corrupted politicians and the investers never pay workinbg wages, because they want to be filthly rich. When the government doesn’t let then get so rich, but provides them financial incentive to invest in free market, the growth occurs and the poverty reduces.
Illegal aliens, and amnesty for illegal aliens works against this concept (poor illegal ethnic group communities stay poorer for generations), just look at NYC for a case study).
Another case study, Why did Japan and Korea suddenly get so rich, and why is India now headed in the same direction?
Why is the US now declining in the number and quality of PHds and patents granted?
