Insofar as legal immigrants are concerned, they absolutely have not only every right to be here, but every right accorded other citizens of this country once they achieve that citizenship, including the right to vote. I happen to be one of those naturalized citizens myself.

As far as your suggestion regarding my analogous use of the Revolutionary war is concerned, it was not related to this situation (illegal aliens)…it was related to your absurd remark that “if you don’t like it, move (paraphrased).” I guess the Founding Fathers and the other patriots could have headed west, huh? I happen to have an excellent grasp of American history, and have participated in some minor aspects of it, as a matter of fact…and I was actually equating you to a Tory.

I posted a few specifics over under the gun ban thread. I do not necessarily disagree with you about some of the issues being political ploys in the last election. However, I do feel that our area has been seriously impacted by unrestrained illegal immigration.

I am taking a wait and see approach to the resolution. I am going to be very careful not to assign cause/effect relationships where none exist.

1. The Federal Government has not done anything about this issue and are creating the tension and outrage amongst people, especially the ones who came in through the front door.
2. The identity fraud and theft.
3. The murders and drunk driving.
4. The increased gang activity and drugs.
5. The drive down of our economy with cheap labor.
6. The non assimilation through out the living community.
7. The use of medicad and WIC for the children born of illegal parents.
8.The overcrowding of our schools due to overcrowding of homes
9.The entry of unknown terrorist cells coming across the open borders.
10. The lack of paying into the federal government by means of federal, state and social security.
11.The disease that are brought to our soil that are going unchecked, untreated.

Just to name a few.

Gee, I had no idea that it was the American way to cut and run when you see something wrong in your community and your own rights are threatened by people who do not belong here (illegals). Those Founding Fathers must have been a bunch of idiots just like the rest of us, right patryot? If they didn’t like the way Great Britain was treating them, they should have gone somewhere else! Has your family been here for enough generations to have Tory in your background?

I really believe that one of the most attractive aspects of the American character has always been an unwillingness to back down from a fight when principle is involved, even when it would be easy to do so. I suppose the easy life this country has to offer (earned in blood, sweat and tears by the millions that preceded us), and is SO attractive to these illegal aliens who seem to believe that it should be handed to them and not earned, has taken some of the starch out of current generations.

Actually patryot, I’m surprised that you haven’t noticed that most of the commenters here who are opposing the illegal alien invasion are, in fact, either natives or have been here long enough to be practically natives. As an example, although Lafayette was born here and I was not, I’ve been here longer than she has.

Of course, you only want to see your side of it and hate us because you don’t want to walk in our shoes. Maybe your hate for us keeps you from experiencing the problems we have. My thoughts are solidified. I had no idea, it just made sense when I found this NAU information that the lack of concern to build a fence or secure the southern border was because of this. I guess it is just common sense. We have to find a way to get real information and push it to the rest of America. Obviously the mainstream media is not going to cover this.
