G-Man, I had to laugh at your post.

Yes, indeed, I skimmed this thread and had about a week without reading the news in there as well. So you caught me being lazy. Mea culpa. (That would be Latin. "My bad" in the [very] vernacular translation for those who don't remember Latin.)

I do, in fact, read and speak three languages. I definitely did not go to school in Fairfax.

Oh... and Janet Ole... well, she is destroying any hope for her political future with her constant whining. Good for her. Stick a fork in her; she's done.

John Light said, "... I PRAY TO GOD that Tom Kopko has nothing to do with “fixing” the “math error” - lol"

No worries John; he would surely follow precedent he set with the 51st District -- if there were a math error, it should have been detected and corrected on election day, and since it were not detected then, would not be corrected later.

"Yesterday, Janet Oleszek filed for a recount in Fairfax Circuit Court, alleging that none of the election machines in the district were properly used."

What is Janet's definition of "properly used"??? That the majority DID NOT vote for her?? Yes, I, too, am concerned that she came that close to victory, but close is just not close enough.

Josh--there has been no recount. What you're probably thinking of is the official canvass which takes place in the days following the election (in all races, so it's "automatic", but it's not because of the close margin). At that point all they do is re-add the totals in case there were math mistakes. A full recount would involve cracking open the machines.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the vote total shift a tiny bit because the machines operated on wireless technology banned by the GA last year forcing election officials to manually punch totals into a spreadsheet as opposed to just flipping a switch (there was no flash-drive or similar capability on these machines), but JO is more than unlikely to find 93.

i thought they already had a recount. i looks like she's challenging further based on some new or likely imagined issues.

she should just give it up...she gonna start looking for hanging chad's or something?

I had to deal with enough of this crap in florida back during the presidential elections and it was nuts..

Isn't a recount available to those candidates that lose by 1% or so?

Red Woman she is not getting a recount. Were you taught to read in Fairfax county or something? Try reading the thread again.

No biggy. She's entitled to her recount. Let her have it.

I'm more concerned that she did well enough to be in the type of margin where one would be requesting a recount.

Go home, Janet. Whining after the fact only serves to embarass you. Be an adult and congratulate the winner.

One only has to look at the previous posts about her and the Youtubes to understand how incompetent she is. It doesn't surprise me that should would pull this stunt. Maybe Virginia should send her a bill. What I can't understand is how she was able to get so many votes. There are other democrats out there that are more capable. They can at least finish a sentence. What does this say about that district?

She needs to be a man and accept her loss. She's making herself look like a fool and preventing any chance she might have in the future of running for the seat again.
