I was reading your exchange with some interest and sort of picked up the challenge mentally. JL, please explain what you mean by ‘backing anything Christian.’ Are you referring to “Christian political agenda’ or Christianity in general?

I am not so sure Christianity needs the backing of politicians-at least not my brand of Christianity. Perhaps that is my missing link here.

JL - Look at the top. It says “welcome, JACK Cuccinelli”, and I didn’t write JFK but Jack Kennedy.

I can’t stand Jesse Jackson either, but I don’t know where he comes in in the church/state equation.

You want some Reps who cram religion, take a look at Pat Robertson and many extreme southern baptists. And for you to say that Democrats are god-less is a very unloving thing to do and pro-church, pro-religion Christians ought to be loving, oughtn’t they?

Ok, Krusty, name three times when the Democratics have backed ANYTHING Christian. How about two times?? Once???? While Republicans in Congress don’t shove the religion down our throats, they DO defend Christianity - big difference.

So when I say God-less Democrats, I stand by it. It seems that whenever a prayer is said at a graduation, which party is SCREAMING “Separation of Church and State” or “God has no place here!!!”??? It’s the Dems. However, whenever a Democrat speaks at Our Holy Church of the Esteemed Jesse Jackson…there is NO outcry from the Dems of “Separation of Church and State!!!”

So, I will conceed, either Democrats are God-less or they are hypocrites. Either way is a very sad state of affairs.

I’m happy for all who enjoy the blessings of parenthood. I’ve been blessed with at least three myself, each perfect in their own way, but I still worry about what kind of country they’ll inherit and whether they’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor and the labors of those who came before us. They will inherit those fruits, only if we work like hell to maintain and build upon what we’ve got. A couple of more lapses in vigilance and judgment, like what occurred on 9-11 and with the whole illegal alien debacle, and this country will achieve third world status in their life times. If that happens, they’ll piss on our graves, and rightfully so.

Advocator, all you say is true ONLY if we keep electing the god-less Democrats and their ilk. As long as we elected common-sense, God-fearing Republicans and those Dems who are socially and fiscally conservative tilt, there is still hope.

While I’m happy for the Cooches and anyone else blessed with a new life in their family, I shudder to think of what kind of country the poor dude is going to be faced with 20 years from now. His parents already have to compete with the flotsam and jetsam of the world’s failed societies for affordable housing in Fairfax; twenty more years of Affirmative Action and Diversity being forced down our throats will limit his educational and job prospects; he’ll have to support his parents because rampant inflation and the demise of social security will render their savings worthless; he’ll have to learn at least one foreign language just to do business at the corner drugstore; and he’ll be immediately suspect as an extremist if he dares to appeal to the Supreme Being for help with his circumstance.
