RK Latches On To The Third Kind Of Lie

By Greg L | 1 January 2008 | Illegal Aliens, Crime, Prince William County | 45 Comments

RazingKaine regales us with an interesting defense of the notion that illegal aliens are really not an issue, and we just shouldn’t get all that worked up about a group of lawbreakers that might then go on to graduate from violations of federal immigration laws to things like murder.  Illegal alien apologists have been working this tack for quite some time now, arguing that because overall crime rates haven’t exploded during a period of increased legal and illegal immigration, there really isn’t a crime problem with illegal aliens.  What a fanciful notion, and one that flies squarely in the face of our collective experience.

OK, now, I’m not a statistical expert, but doesn’t this demonstrate an INVERSE correlation between (increased) immigration and (decreased) homicide?   Yet, if you listen to the overheated rhetoric of the anti-immigrant forces, you’d think there was a strong, even disastrous, positive correlation.  Well, as the headline says, so much for THAT theory!

It’s always amusing to see the illegal alien apologists demonstrate just how hard they’re working to not listen to the legitimate concerns of those who have suffered the effects that illegal aliens impose on our society.  Beyond their facetious attempt to re-cast efforts to reduce the number of illegal aliens unlawfully residing in our communities as being “anti-immigrant”, the contention that it is acceptable for illegal aliens to commit murders just as long as the overall crime rate doesn’t go through the roof is stunning.  The spin machine here is really in overdrive.

Here in Prince William County, there were nine murders in 2007, which is seven less than in 2006.  Of those nine murders, three of those were committed by illegal alien Anastacio Sanchez-Miranda, one was committed by Christian Molina, an illegal alien from El Salvador, and another by an illegal alien by the name of Jose Martinez-Zeron.  So of the nine murders in Prince William County during 2007, five of those murders were committed by illegal aliens.  To the RazingKaine crowd, because the number of murders committed by persons other than illegal aliens sharply decreased over the previous year, this drop somehow is proof that illegal aliens are not a crime problem.  If legal residents commit fewer crimes, that means illegal aliens are not a crime problem, somehow.  How pitifully desperate.
I can understand though that the RK crowd doesn’t understand what’s happening in Prince William, and chalk this up to a knee-jerk reaction to any story that might suggest that illegal aliens are somehow a good thing.  If it reinforces their pre-conceived “progressive” foolishness, they’ll jump all over it.  In this case The Washington Post, in a typical act of journalistic malfeasance, proffered up this little piece of spin despite fully understanding what the underlying data here really looks like because they’ve been covering the individual stories all year, and have reported on the legal status of these criminals.  They’ve clearly got their agenda here, also.  Unfortunately, that agenda doesn’t match up quite right with reality, unless you start attributing behavior from one group of persons who are not illegal aliens to illegal aliens, and then muddy the waters by talking about “immigrants”, a group no one is particularly concerned with.

The clear fact is that these five murders would have been entirely prevented if federal, state and local officials had fully done their job to ensure that illegal aliens weren’t residing in our communities.  The clear fact is that over half of the murders in Prince William County were committed by illegal aliens, which is a hugely disproportional crime rate given that illegal aliens aren’t estimated to be anywhere near 50% of our population.  Whether the overall murder statistic goes up, down, or remains the same, the contribution of illegal aliens to this number in any degree demonstrates that crimes that would not have happened if we were controlling our borders and halting the flood of illegal aliens into our nation are indeed happening.  The only meaningful statistic here is that every one of these crimes was one hundred percent preventable.

So RazingKaine wants to assert that the more illegal aliens we have, the lower our murder rate should be.  Since Arlington seems to enjoy having illegal aliens, perhaps they could all be provided with housing in one area, let’s say on North Lynbrook Drive for example, and we’ll see what happens to the crime rate there.  If the wacky left wants to engage in a social experiment about the benefits of having great numbers of illegal aliens unlawfully residing in our communities, fine.  At least they can show us the courtesy of using their own neighborhoods as the test bed, rather than demanding that those of us in Prince William County who don’t care to have our communities overrun with illegal aliens involuntarily conduct these experiments on their behalf.  Make some of these communities actually “affordable”, as they always seem wont to do everywhere they don’t reside, and invite in the illegals in.  We’ll check back in a year or two and see how it goes.

These aren’t lies, nor are they damned lies.  They’re statistics.  If the RK crowd actually believes this is a good way to reduce the crime rate, they should be all for it, right?

Lowell does not have a clue. Anyone with a desire to call themselves a reporter and possessed an ounce of integrity would be ashamed and embarrassed to have written that post. As usual the ace reporter neglects to investigate or consider the facts behind his writings, he just finds a desired outcome and prints a story accordingly. Had you not pointed it out I never would have known that he had written another extraordinarily stupid post, because I normally stay away from that mind warping site.

Thanks for beginning my new year with a reminder to watch out for drunks and moronic blog posts. (maybe rk could use the excuse that he was drunk as a reason for printing such a stupid article.)

OK, seriously, are these guys completely clueless? With all due respect, does anyone in the Razing Kaine crowd want any kind of immigration laws? Can someone on the left articulate that? And if there are laws, should they be obeyed and/or enforced?

By the way, the only caveat I would give you is that nine murders may be considered by some to be a “small sample size,” so beware.

You mean to tell us, Dumb Blond, that social services are inefficient and are clumsy at scaling to meet demand?? WHAT? How could this be? We all know that social services are so much better than the free market…right? right?

She supports our military invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation on the other side of the planet..but god forbid some poor and desperate people should come here and work.

Does this Ann Coulter wannabe actually think we can just rely on our own oil supply? Our oil production has been in decline since the 1970s. I’ve got some news for you Dumb Blond, if the oil has been decreasing since 1970…maybe…that means it will continue decreasing for the next 40 years as well. Just a guess. Our economy on the other hand keeps growing and we can all be thankful for that. The immigrants who build our houses, office buildings, roads, laboratories, government buildings, modern infrastructure, etc. help our economy keep growing.

We have an overwhelming and burdensome illegal alien disaster on our hands and the fact that so many of our local and state government representatives refuse to acknowledge it, in favor of representing illegal aliens infuriates me. Ok Truth, I guess you do not know the definition ofinvasion, so, I looked it up for you:

    American Heritage Dictionary
    in·va·sion (ĭn-vā’zhən) Pronunciation Key
    n.

    1. The act of invading, especially the entrance of an armed force into a territory to conquer.
    2. A large-scale onset of something injurious or harmful, such as a disease.
    3. An intrusion or encroachment.

While one definition is the entrance of armed forces, it is not the ONLY meaning.

This is an intrusion into the US through our porous borders. Hence, this is why people call it an INVASION. It appears to me, IMHO, you do not see shades of gray only black and white. You would be better suited in life to see those shades of gray, IMHO.

    Park’d,
If you believe in armed insurrection to oppose invasion…doesn’t that mean you are in support of the people in iraq and afghanistan who
are fighting against a REAL military invasion. You can’t have it both ways Park’d. Trying to do so is called hypocrisy.

    To ALL,
Which one qualifies more as an invasion and why?
A.Poor people looking to work for the scraps that fall off our tables and willing to accept a life where they don’t have citizenship and
all the indignities that come with that?

B.Military assault and occupation of a sovereign nation that was no threat to us whatsoever. Destruction of their military forces,
destruction of their infrastructure, destruction of their government, capturing and killing their leaders, destruction of their cities,
    etc., etc..

Please have the moral courage to answer the question above

Yes we have been invaded to say so otherwise is just being apologetic ILLEGAL alien supporter. There is a difference with the invasion of Iraq. While I feel we should be searching harder for bin Laden, we have to support the troops and the President even if we do not agree with the policy or the path. I am sure there are plenty of GOOD things coming out of Iraq, but they are ignored and pushed to the side by the main stream media. Heaven forbid the surge is actually working.

We need to continue the fight against the invasion of the USA. LEGAL immigrants are welcome here, ILLEGAL ones are not and to support enforcing current laws is not racist or bigoted.

Self deportation is already happening. It will continue as counties and states pass legislation to curb the appeal of cheap labor in big business. This will have a positive affect on us in that overcrowding of schools, lack of payment to hospitals for care provided and services being able to provide more for those here LEGALLY.

An article I read today stated that money transmittals to Mexico were down sharply. This is a good thing. Once the money runs out here they will leave. I have no problem cracking down on businesses that exploit the ILLEGAL aliens. They are using them as the new slave class. We have to be careful about saying this because next thing you know, we will have to pay reparations to them as well.

I am tired of people coming into the US telling us how to run our country. They pray on our PC and play it against us. People have had enough and they are fighting back. Reminds me of a Charlie Danial’s (sp) song,

    We may fight amoungst ourselves,
but you outside people best leave us alone.

It is quickly coming to the day when self deportation is the rule of the day. This would be the best since it will allow the economy to cover for the loss of low wage earners.

I doubt true self-deporation from the US will ever happen, as long as there are places like Fairfax, Arlington VA, San Francisco, etc. The only hope is a comprehensive enforcement program from the Feds. EXACTLY!!!!! There are jobs that Americans will do when they get hungry enough. Decrease the welfare state and you will have a work force that can do these jobs the ILLEGAL aliens are doing. Part of the money saved can be used to subsidize the employers for getting them off of welfare. Imagine putting all of those people to work, subsidizing the employers and helping out the health care issue. Provide some subsidized funds for health care insurance for these people. It is a win win, we decrease the numbers on the gov’t dole AND help drive down the cost of health insurance since more people will be on it. Of course we have to regulate the insurance companies so they don’t get the huge profits form all of the new premiums being paid. Fix rate the insurance costs and the premiums. The remaining balance can help with funding the NCLB, money saved by not paying someone to sit at home drawing welfare and food stamps. Imagine the cycle of welfare being broken in the next generation.

I happened to be waiting to get quarters when they walked by, I told them that this was a slow day. They had already decided not to get the property since the lot was full. They waited to get a parking spot at the other end of the lot just to look at the property.

    M64,
It was a very thin day there indeed. I think that may have been taken late on a weekend. This picture really doesn’t show it all.
The picture for Dolph is her “dream car”.-lol
It lives a block away and there’s several houses on that street that quite interesting to say the least. There’s also one house with three vessels we call the “Santa Maria, Pinta, Nina”. At this particular property the newly built garage is looking much better than the brick rambler. The work would be put on hold for the fleet to go fishing. They are true specticals to say the least.

    Lafayette,

    I see. She does seem like one to walk on the wild side (c;

I would like to see the home port some time. Email the street so I can drive by and look. The screen door was closed over the holiday season. It may have been left open to allow the entrance of people carrying in their presents and such. I am monitoring it closely to be sure.

    /\/\3|)iç 64 ,

I think it must be one of those hummers that live up the street from me. One of the twins, as it were.

Do drive by the Pinta, Nina, and Santa Maria. It is a walk on the wild side, for sure, especially if you have to drive past Yogi Bear. Just a different dimension of Westgate….grin.
