Saw about 19 this morning around 8am some on 7-11 property some on sidewalk and some on rental property beside 7-11, no active police presence. Though there was a PWCPD CSI vehicle at the bottom of the hill getting ready to take a left onto 234 towards I-66.

Is this the same Principi who was concerned about the potential "police state" that would be created in Woodbridge if the police were actually enforcing laws like loitering? Nothing has changed here, folks. If anything, it is getting worse. The crowds that mysteriously disappeared for a couple of weeks just prior to Nov. 6 are back and now more are popping up at additional 7-elevens along Rt. 1.

Hilda Barg may not be sitting in the seat at the dais on Tuesdays, but, don't worry, she's not far away. She is Supervisor Principi's advisor!!

You mean this video? Great job. It appeared to be about 40 day laborers there. I wonder how many are there this morning.

ALERT ALERT ALERT...
I was driving on 28 (near the VRE station located by the Manassas airport) yesterday. There is a 7-11 after you pass the McDonalds near the VRE area. I saw a load of what appeared to be "day laborers". Have they migrated over to this location now?

Patty, why should I as a taxpayer have to pay what you're asking when you said:

"They need to get back over to the 7-11 at Coverstone. I noticed the owner of the adjacent building put up a sign advertising for rental. He should sue the county if he can’t get his space rented."

Just who do you think the County is? The taxpayers? Why should we pay if the owner of the property isn't willing to pay to solve the problem? You quick to want to waste my tax dollar. Let the building owner pay for a security guard if he's worried.

Just exactly what has Principi done to clear out the 7/11 at Rt. one in Woodbridge???

Have not seen any difference at the site. Are we hearing another Barg who tooted her own horn and did nothing to help the average person or help the neighborhoods???

Local Yokel

PWC citizens are in the top 10 as far as weathliest counties. PWC's tax bill is on average over $1,000 lower than surrounding jurisdictions. Take the average income, compare to comparable jurisdictions and check out the average residental real estate tax bill. Think you will be surprised.

Coverstone 7-11 Update - 9:15 am

Approximately 20 day laborers hanging out. See web link. Also included on the web link are prior zoning violations on both sides of my house. One of the back yard shots that shows just a back yard - the grass was almost 3 1/2 feet high. On the other side, there was a pile of tree limbs that sat in the unmown back yard for more than a year. My former neighbor, who abandoned the house and moved to Manassas City, cut these branches off of his trees with his machete (he climbed the trees in his bare feet).

There is also a picture of a dead rodent one of my dogs killed. We started getting rats and other rodents in our yard when our neighbors wouldn't mow their lawns or throw out their trash.

Happy viewing....

El Guapo,

Yes, that's right let the mob hang out there and scare off all potential customers to the businesses. Isn't that wonderful for business? Isn't it wonderful for the local economy? Yes, let the mob continue to harass women and children who want to go to 7-11 and buy a slurpee.

Let them go to the VEC. VEC provides jobs for workers. There is also a temporary agency that they can walk to and get hired. They find jobs for people who are skilled at manual labor. But wait, one has to be here legally and if they're not here legally they should go back to their country. After all according to the media every country in the world has free health care except the U.S. Let them go back and get their free health care. I'm tired of paying for lawbreakers.

One day a month of chasing day laborers from the 7-11s is not going to do the job. It has to be a REPEATED and SERIOUS effort to clear them out. Once they see that the PD and county means business they will learn and not return. HEAD 'EM UP AND MOVE 'EM OUT!

They need to get back over to the 7-11 at Coverstone. I noticed the owner of the adjacent building put up a sign advertising for rental. He should sue the county if he can't get his space rented. I can imagine the reputation we've aquired from tourists who go to the Battlefield. I'm sure they have passed on information to their traveling friends about the mob over at 7-11.

Crazy Walter Tejada, the Chairman of the Arlington Board of Supervisors found a way to help declining school enrollment by championing alternative housing solutions, i.e garages, basements, attics etc. as the perfect match for people needing low cost housing. Supporters of the plan were confident that overcrowding, parking on lawns, trash issues, or an increase in gang and crime activity were only in the imagination of its opponents. I am surprised that our County Executive who can't find money in our county's budget to fund appropriate law enforcement here in Prince William County, whose median income is higher by the way than Arlington County, does not send his resume' up there. Just think of all the money Arlington will either save or make in revenue by actively supporting this type of housing. Glad I'm living in bad old Prince William County where we have Supervisors like Mr. Principi.
