We have some real doozies elected in my area and strangely enough they are joined at the hip with your rep! Of course I call them elected “officials” because they certainly can’t call themselves “representatives”. Needless to say the day after my little confrontation with him ALL of the bills died in sub-committee of which he is of course, the Chairman!! Surprise!

McCain - supported Amnesty until a few months ago.

Romney - not only had illegals working on his own personal property, but was also promoting mass as a sanctuary state for illegals.

Pres Bush - pro amnesty.

What did Cannaughton do about the illegals while the issue was brewing in PWC all the while he server as Supervisor. What did Cory do in 2005, 2006??

The problem did not start November 2007, as the Replublican Election material would make you think.

I totally agree, I hate those eastern auto commercials. I think the 12 percent rate is a little low, I hear they lend close to 20 percent in some cases. they do seem to target minorities with their stupid commercials.

I concur with your assessment about Krusty’s annoyance factor.

But, where were the republicans in 2007 while they had the majority - what did they send up to the Gov’ner that he rejected (Illigal Immigrant wise)?

What did the Republican PWC BOCS do in 2005, 2006, 2007 (Yes, in 2007, they passed an unfunded resolution)?

So, do not knock the Dem’s for standing up and saying how they stand, as opposed to the Replublicans who are using the Illegal immigrant as a tool to try and get elected - Do not forget that the Replublcians did NOTHING about the illegal immigrant while they were in the Majority.

Now, how do WE fix the problem - we do not need laws, we do not need money - WE Need to Stop Using the Companies that Employ Illegal Immigrants - it is really simple to do.

Every HOA should require their Landscaping Company to provide E-Verify results - YOu should tell your neighbor to not use the landscaper who hires the illiegal (I have been told before that no one on this board uses landscapers) Who painted your house last?

What WE are missing is common sense - we do not need a law to say do not hire an illegal - we do not need a law to say to wear a seatbelt - we do not need a law - We Do need to stick together, and use common sense - that will do more than any law will do.

Then, we need to replace the do nothing politicians (both sides of the aisle).

On immigration, Romney was utterly Clintonian. He said that when in November 2005 he described the Bush/McCain approach to immigration as “reasonable” and “quite different” from amnesty, he wasn’t endorsing the proposal, but just describing it. He hadn’t formulated his own position on immigration at the time. That’s right up there with Hillary Clinton saying in the debate that she didn’t say she supported driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants, but she just said that a proposal to do so “makes sense.” Even if we were to get into the Christmas spirit and be extraordinarily generous by granting Romney that an elected official saying pending legislation is “reasonable” doesn’t constitute support for the legislation, it still doesn’t get him off the hook. His description of the proposal was that it was “quite different” from amnesty, and yet during this year he has ceaselessly leveled attacks on McCain by accusing him of supporting “amnesty.” So even being generous to Romney, this constitutes a major change in position, not just from some long ago Senate race in 1994, but from late 2005.
