From FAIR:
Senate Expected to Vote on Stimulus Package Today!
Call Your Senators Now!
Today the Senate is expected to vote on the economic stimulus package (H.R.5140) and FAIR is asking all members, activists, and friends to take action immediately to preserve the language we fought for last week!
As we reported in our last alert, the House version of the economic stimulus package has loopholes that allow illegal aliens to receive tax rebates from the federal government. First, the House version allows resident aliens who file using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to receive a rebate. Because the IRS does not take immigration status into account when issuing ITINs or determining resident alien status, illegal aliens who file returns using ITINs will be able to receive refund checks from the IRS. In addition, the House economic stimulus package does not require the IRS to weed out false and fraudulent social security numbers in its system before issuing rebate checks.
Last week, the Senate Finance Committee drafted its own version of the economic stimulus bill and attempted to fix these loopholes by: (1) requiring taxpayers to have valid social security numbers in order to be eligible for rebates, and (2) barring taxpayers who file with ITINs from receiving rebate checks. According to Senate staffers, in order to determine whether a social security number is valid, the IRS will have to check the numbers against no-match information it already receives from the Social Security Administration to determine eligibility for the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Reliable sources have told FAIR that when the Senate takes up the bill, there may be an attempt to water down the Senate language by stripping the provision that bars the issuance of rebate checks to individuals who file with ITINs. This would be most likely if the Senate decides to vote on the House language without amending it to include the immigration-related changes made in the Senate Finance Committee.
Please call your Senators TODAY and insist that they keep their word! Tell them that no matter which stimulus package they adopt, Congress should prohibit the IRS from issuing rebate checks to illegal aliens. This means making individuals who file with ITINs ineligible for tax rebates.
I have noticed a few articles today commenting on the “Obama Cult” phenomenon, (see Drudge) and how it is more than a little creepy. I thought I was alone…..
We should never forget. Sort of a long read, but is a good refresher as to why Billary should not be POTUS.
———————————————————————–
Truly scary that (a) she exists, (b) people believe in her, and (c) how little of this was ever “mainlined” in the mainstream press….
Hillary Clinton has been telling America that she is the most qualified candidate for president based on her ‘record,’ which she says includes her eight years in the White House as First Lady - or ‘co-president’ - and her seven years in the Senate. Here is a reminder of what that record includes: - As First Lady, Hillary assumed authority over Health Care Reform, a process that cost the taxpayers over $13 million. She told both Bill Bradley and Patrick Moynihan, key votes needed to pass her legislation, that she would ‘demonize’ anyone who opposed it. But it was opposed; she couldn’t even get it to a vote in a Congress controlled by her own party. (And in the next election, her party lost control of both the House and Senate.)
Hillary assumed authority over selecting a female Attorney General. Her first two recommendations, Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood, were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. She then chose Janet Reno. Janet Reno has since been described by Bill himself as ‘my worst mistake.’
Hillary recommended Lani Guanier for head of the Civil Rights Commission. When Guanier’s radical views became known, her name had to be withdrawn.
Hillary recommended her former law partners, Web Hubbell, Vince Foster, and William Kennedy for positions in the Justice Department, White House staff, and the Treasury, respectively. Hubbell was later imprisoned, Foster committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.
Hillary also recommended a close friend of the Clintons, Craig Livingstone, for the position of director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of up to 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (“Filegate”) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, both Hillary and her husband denied knowing him. FBI agent Dennis Sculimbrene confirmed in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in 1996, both the drug use and Hillary’s involvement in hiring Livingstone. After that, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office, after serving seven presidents for over thirty years.
In order to open “slots” in the White House for her friends the Thomasons (to whom millions of dollars in travel contracts could be awarded), Hillary had the entire staff of the White House Travel Office fired; they were reported to the FBI for ‘gross mismanagement’ and their reputations ruined. After a thirty-month investigation, only one, Billy Dale, was charged with a crime - mixing personal money with White House funds when he cashed checks. The jury acquitted him in less than two hours.
Another of Hillary’s assumed duties was directing the ‘bimbo eruption squad’ and scandal defense: —- She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. —- She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr’s investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs. —- Then they had to settle with Paula Jones after all. —- And Bill lost his law license for lying to the grand jury —- And Bill was impeached by the House. —- And Hillary almost got herself indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice (she avoided it mostly because she repeated, ‘I do not recall,’ ‘I have no recollection,’ and ‘I don’t know’ 56 times under oath).
Hillary wrote ‘It Takes a Village,’ demonstrating her Socialist viewpoint.
Hill ary decided to seek election to the Senate in a state she had never lived in. Her husband pardoned FALN (Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional - English: Armed Forces of National Liberation) terrorists in order to get Latino support and the New Square Hassidim to get Jewish support.
Hillary also had Bill pardon her brother’s clients, for a small fee, to get financial support.
Then Hillary left the White House, but later had to return $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork she had stolen.
In the campaign for the Senate, Hillary played the ‘woman card’ by portraying her opponent (Lazio) as a bully picking on her.
Hillary’s husband further protected her by asking the National Archives to withhold from the public until 2012 many records of their time in the White House, including much of Hillary’s correspondence and her calendars. (There are ongoing lawsuits to force the release of those records.)
As the junior Senator from New York, Hillary has passed no major legislation. She has deferred to the senior Senator (Schumer) to tend to the needs of New Yorkers, even on the hot issue of medical problems of workers involved in the cleanup of Ground Zero after 9/11.
Hillary’s one notable vote; supporting the plan to invade Iraq, she has since disavowed.
Quite a resume’. Sounds more like an organized crime family’s rap sheet.

Romney announced he is in “pause mode”. Guess it’s down to McCain, Obama and Clinton….. OH BROTHER!
Has Huckleberry HOund dropped out yet?
So, who is YOUR candidate: Osama, Billary, or McStain?
Anyone go to the PWCS board meeting last night? What happened with MI?
“So, who is YOUR candidate: Osama, Billary, or McStain?”
None of the above. I will not vote for McStain to keep either of the other two out of office. Seems to me that when a Democrat acts like a liberal the Republicans get all up in arms about it but when a Republican acts like a liberal it’s A-OK.
So I figure if Hillary or Obama gets into office then at least there won’t be any Republican appologists for them.
Hillary Finally Tells Us ‘Who She Is’
In what felt more like a love-in than an interview, on Nightline Jan. 30, ABC’s Cynthia McFadden asked Hillary Clinton, “When you lie awake at night…what worries you?” MRC then reported that Clinton’s long-winded answer ended with: “to whom much is given, much is required,” Then: “McFadden approvingly remarked: ‘Good Methodist girl.’ In turn, Clinton accepted the compliment and asserted: ‘It is, indeed, who I am.’”

CBS reporting Mitt Romney has suspended his race (basically dropping out while holding on to delegates in case the nom process has to be brokered)
That quote is from St. Paul, the aspostle. Rose Kennedy used it a bit with her kids as I am sure we have all heard by now…….
What a coinkidink that now Hillary is spouting it.

That happens when there is no assimilation and immigrants want things done “their way — and get them.” England is a prime example of what is starting to happen in this country. Read the exceprts at the site below from Pat Buchannan’s book “The Death of the West.” It will open some eyes!

Republican doesn’t automatically equal conservative as Democrat doesn’t automatically equal Liberal. Romney is no more a “Fake Republican” than are McCain or Huckabee “liberals”. All three have flaws in their conservative credentials. McCain is going to have to explain his, and promise some things to hardcore conservatives if he wants to win in the General election. I would imagine that amnesty will be abandonded by McCain as part of the bargin.
While I am disappointed that Romney is bowing out (he had my support), I believe he is making the right decision, for the sake of the party. Best if the party begins the process of uniting behind a nominee now. I suspect that McCain has already offerred Huckabee the VP, in order to avoid a brokered convention. Whether or not Huck has accepted remains to be seen. I believe that Romney’s supporters in the primaries still to come, will break slightly but not overwhelmingly Huckabee’s way.
Now, if Hillary and Obama continue to batter eachother, McCain can begin to solidify the GOP, and we’ll be in good shape in November.
“McCain is going to have to explain his, and promise some things to hardcore conservatives if he wants to win in the General election. I would imagine that amnesty will be abandonded by McCain as part of the bargin.”
Why would you believe that he’d follow through on any changes in his position on amnesty after he’s elected? What are you going to do about empty promises? George Bush was going to be the great uniter. Ha ha. Well, he did unite most people against him and his regime.
“Why would you believe that he’d follow through on any changes in his position on amnesty after he’s elected?”
I believe that he would follow through on a promise “not” to do something, because he would have to worry about re-election one day. However, if he promises “to” do something, well, that is another story. If he promises conservatives not to sign any legislation granting ammnesty, this would pacify many of his critics.
I won’t vote for McCain regardless of what he says. I will vote for Hillarah before I vote for him. At least she will stab me in the chest and not in the back.

I’m trying to hear George Allen speak at CPAC but all of the cable channels are showing his picture while voicing over with their inane dribble. C-Span doesn’t have it either. Anyone know where I can this?
Concerned - Why on earth would you want to hear George Allen?
Concerned,
Check out Fox News on Channel 32. McCain is getting ready to speak.
I want to hear all of them - Allen, McCain, Romney, etc. Any Republican is more interesting than these voice-over cable reporters. They consider themselves more relevant and interesting than the candidates, party leaders and elected leaders.
OK - they’re letting us hear McCain. I suppose the networks think they should be the judges of who we do and don’t get to hear.
Concerned,
I think MSM thinks they are the only ones voting. Lots of boos on illegal immigration, now whistling. hmm
George Allen was a great governor. He will be back in politics soon.
Who is MSM?

I’m not impressed by any of the candidates. I really don’t like any of them.
I’m going to write in Joe Gibbs for president.
Don’t laugh. I think he would do a better job than what we have now.

Well most of the good immgration bills in the House were held in the Rules committee and with cross over looming will not see the light of day.
jfk 3:36 - George Allen would have been a nobody without his name recognition. The son of a Redskins coach MUST be terrific! Not!
“I would have thought Guillianni is McCain’s VP. He is sniffing around his ass all the time now.”
My money is on Huckelberry. Deal has already been brokered:
McCain: Gomer Pyle, I mean Huck, you know you don’t have a shot at winning the nomination, and I have all of the momentum. I am offerring you the VP slot if you will stay in and pull just enough conservative support away from Romney for me to take all of the winner take all primaries, and if you pledge your delegates to me at the RNC convention. I need someone on the ticket to placate the conservative wing of the party, who is from the south, and has been a governor. I also want to shut Rush and Sean up. So, whatta ya think, Huckster?
Huckabee: I am outta cash, will get creamed in the remaining primaries, and willing to settle for VP. You got yourself a runningmate.

If you missed the BOCS meeting on Tues, it should be repeated on Comcast Cable Ch. 23 tonight at 7:30 pm. Not long into the meeting is a PWC fire dept. results of investigation of the untimely death of Kyle Wilson responding to that fire and then trapped. It is difficult to hear. But then I wondered after reading the following article who the 7 people in that house were and why they sought safety in a neighbor’s home without telling the firemen that all were out & safe. There is no land record shown for that home on the pwcgov.org website, yet homes on either side are listed. Is there a cover up? Were those 7 people legal? Did they speak English? http://www.potomacnews.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WPN/MGArticle/WPN_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1173350761589&path=

legal2,
Please, email me with the address.
Conservatives threatening to vote for Hillary is a nonstarter. Everyone knows that very few will. That path does not help us or any of the causes we support or the values we believe in.
A better, more credible approach is to stress that we will vote our conscience by writing in a conservative like Tancredo, Thompson, or whomever you supported, or even support a third party candidate (Lou Dobbs?), to push McCain toward our views. McCain knows he can’t win without receiving the majority of conservative votes. He can’t risk having us write in someone else or just stay home.
I suggest we start writing/emailing the McCain campaign saying we want something concrete from him on immigration and other issues now if he wants us to vote for him.
The address is probably a misprint in the newspaper. They have been wrong before.
legal2,
I saw the address from the paper, and I don’t see it on Land Rover either. I would think the address would still be listed with land value only. The land still exists. Usually there will be comments regarding reduction of assessment due to fire loss.
Hmm. Good question. I’ll try to see what I can find out and let you know.
Where the names of the occupants ever given in any story?
Legal 2,
They didn’t speak English. I read that in an article about a day or so after it happened. It might of been in the Times or the Examiner. I can’t remember which one.

It is hard to loose a brother in a fire. The people of the house should have come forward and told them everyone was accounted for. If no one on the street knows, you make a search entry. I have done it myself only to find the same thing, the occupants went next door. Luckily, the other firefighter and I had made it out before something bad had happened. He did run out of air and we buddy breathed our way out.
This is not uncommon for the occupants to be next door. When you ask those standing around on the street if they saw anyone come out and they do not know, you go in to find out, especially at 6am in the morning. Chances are good someone is still in there. I am sure that is what prompted these brave and heroic firefighters to summon up the courage to enter into a burning building of a TOTAL stranger to save their life.
Not everyone can do that job, it takes a special breed to put themselves in harms way for that of a stranger. The article didn’t say if he had a family or not, but I would like to see the community come together and give a donation to them. I personally will look into finding out how I can donate to them.

Agree 100%. I just got done telling a friend someone should’ve let them no the house had be EVACUATED! I listened to the presentation. One good samaritan knew it would be a tight fit for the equipment to get down the street and moved his vehicle to make way. He was moving the vehicle when they arrived on the seen. The occupants took cover in a neighbors house and a car they said Tuesday.
That is good on the neighbors part. Many do not think that far ahead. It is hard to drive one of those rigs in the small city streets.
Looks like the senate approved the stimulus package. They apparently fixed the little problem with the illegals getting the refund checks. Now you have to have a valid SSN to receive the checks now. That’s sweet, I bet you the illegals were all hyped they were getting “free” money, not anymore pedro.
“I saw the address from the paper, and I don’t see it on Land Rover either. I would think the address would still be listed with land value only. The land still exists.”
Prince William County has assigned an address to every vacant parcel of land I’ve bothered to look up in Land Rover, which is quite a few. So I would expect [1] that all vacant parcels of land get an address in PWC and [2] that this would continue to be listed with the address it had before.

Krustacen is pretty cool….very oceany!
mcr,
that’s pretty easy to check, if they are a valid taxpayer who has filed tax returns using a SSN vice the ITIN. As far as it being valid, the IRS verifies the SSN is valid and cross-checks against the name it was issued in. Since the refund checks are only going to people who filed (and have an SSN) then the SSN is already verified. E-verify is for employers who want to cross-check everything. The IRS does all this when you file taxes, if there an error..they most certainly will let you know about it.
Patty & Lafayette: The addresses given in all news reports I could find AND in the PWC Report from April lists the address as 15474 Marsh Overlook Drive.
http://www.pwcgov.org/default.aspx?topic=010010000790004197 This is the PWCgov link with the address. There is a pattern of houses disappearing around here - remember 9200 Liberty also burned in the early hours (after all the “tenants” had gotten out). I don’t know how the house on Shawnee disappeared, but their demo permit expired a couple months ago. I can’t get any response from zoning on any that I have inquired about. Update on the Marsh Overlook Fire in Woodbridge
Funeral Arrangements for Kyle Wilson
The Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue has completed a preliminary review of the Monday morning fire that damaged a house on Marsh Overlook Drive in Woodbridge and killed firefighter Kyle Wilson. Here is a synopsis of events:
At 6:03 a.m., the initial alarm was dispatched for a single family house fire at 15474 Marsh Overlook Drive. Engine 512, Tower 512 and Medic 512 from OWL Station 12 in Woodbridge responded and arrived on the scene at 6:09 a.m. They discovered fire on the exterior of the structure involving the side and back of the house. Vehicles were in the driveway and garage. Believing that occupants might still be inside the home, an aggressive interior search was initiated with Lieutenant Jason Reese and Technician I Kyle Wilson going to the second floor to begin search and rescue efforts.
Conditions inside the home were initially clear, with full visibility and little smoke. Lt. Reese and Technician Wilson were able to search the large master bedroom suite standing up and walking through the area. During the search, the bedroom door suddenly slammed shut. Not finding any occupants in the master bedroom, they opened the door to search the remainder of the second floor and found conditions in the hallway had dramatically changed to zero visibility and extraordinary intense heat. Lt. Reese and Technician Wilson were together and attempted to exit the structure immediately.
At this point a catastrophic fire event occurred. Conditions inside the home quickly deteriorated from a light haze to heavy fire with thick black smoke and intense heat. At almost the same time, the roof and ceiling collapsed into the second floor. The force of this event separated Lt. Reese and Technician Wilson, resulting in Lt. Reese falling down the stairs. Technician Wilson was forced in a different direction.
A MAYDAY, which indicates a life-threatening situation to a firefighter, was declared at 6:15 a.m. Technician Wilson activated his emergency button and provided an emergency radio report.
Lt. Reese and several other crews made several valiant attempts to respond to the MAYDAY calls and locate Technician Wilson. Lt. Reese suffered second degree burns to both ears and one finger in those attempts.
The initial reports demonstrate that Fire and Rescue crews were following procedure by working in pairs and maintaining physical contact until the catastrophic fire event forcibly separated them. The severe wind conditions also had an effect on the intensity and rapid spread of the fire.
Officials have estimated the fire loss for the building and contents at $650,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office and is still undetermined.
More details, information and findings will be discovered as this investigation continues, and will be released as they become available. It will be many months before the investigation is complete and a final report is released.
The services for Technician Wilson are scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2007, beginning at 4 p.m. at Nissan Pavilion.
Again, the Department of Fire and Rescue is very appreciative and grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of support and sympathy our community has expressed.
Josh - thanks.

Just saw on Fox News that for the last 15 years, in Grapevine, Texas, it has been MANDATORY for elementary school children to take Spanish courses….with NO options.
Now ONE parent has said NOPE, not gonna have my kid learning Spanish to make it easier for those coming legally or illegally to not learn English.
Good for her. What is becoming of our great land???
And…just read in MJM that now the shooting on Alleghany has turned into a murder charge. The 20 year old man died from his injuries. A woman and two men were arrested.
Could have been our kid….he went out on the deck to smoke a cigarette when he was hit, and had nothing to do with the fight beforehand.
Looks like the shooter at the Alleghany Road murder may be an illegal alien - no fixed address and being held without bond:
WASHINGTON - Two men and one woman are being held without bond in the murder that occurred at a party in Manassas, Va. Prince William County Police arrested John Matthew Moran, 22, of Gainesville, Va.; Jose Obed Escobar, 20, of no fixed address; and Shannon Leigh Smerbeck, 20, of Gainesville, Va.
Moran and Escobar face murder charges, while Smerbeck is charged with being an accessory before the fact.
Moran also is charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting at an occupied dwelling. Escobar is charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and possession of a firearm. And, Smerbeck faces additional charges of being an accessory to the shooting and being an accessory to the possession of the firearm.
Police say Moran and Escobar were involved in a fist fight during a party and thrown out by the homeowner on Feb. 3.

Maureen, thanks for the correction - 9500 Liberty (guilty of a typo). I guess we have to do our own investigating, but will we get answers? The house fire that Lafayette put a link to last night at 6:15 - the owner lives out of state. So who was “renting”? I was recently told that it is not uncommon for these construction “geniuses” to tap into electricity as in Mexico when building additions or renovating, which causes fires. Where are the inspectors? (Maybe it’s a case of the fox guarding the henhouse? At least in PWC.)
They should not be forced to learn a second language. It is a good thing for them to, but it should not be forced.

legal2,
I take there’s still just a pit on that property? I will never forget the “grande fiesta” we witnessed that Sunday afternoon. I need to take a “field trip” back over that way again. I haven’t been over there since around Christmas.
Lafayette,
Which property?

Which comment? The one to legal2?

LOOK WHAT WE ALL SEEMED TO HAVE MISSED!!
Please join us for the first documentary of Mason Project on Immigration’s film festival. The directors of 9500 Liberty will be on hand to screen a full length version of their “interactive documentary” and lead a discussion. Directors/Community Activists Eric Byler (Award winning director for such films as Charlotte Someday and Americanese), Annabel Park, and Jeff Man posted segments nearly in real time on www.youtube.com where local residents and everyone else weighed in town hall style.
“9500 Liberty” is named after the Liberty Wall, the site of the half-destroyed banner in Manassas that reads “Stop Your Racism To Hispanics.” Every-day Prince William citizens and controversial characters like Chairman Corey A. Stewart and Help Save Manassas President Greg Letiecq star in the film. It documents the historic 12-hour Citizens’ Time on October 16 at the Prince William County government center, two months of ethnic tension and civic activism that led up to it, and the effects of “politicizing” the immigration issue.

I hope the “racists” in their documentary sue the pants off Byler, Park & Man, for defamation of character, using their likeness without permission and anything else they can think of.
On Friday morning, Delegate Nichols presented his bill, HB 304, in front of the Counties, Cities and Towns Subcommittee #1. HB 304 would put a limit on the number of unrelated people who can legally occupy a single-family house. People often rent houses and in order to save money, eight or ten will occupy a single-family home. Unfortunately, HB 304 was tabled in committee along party line, the Republicans voting to kill the bill.
SHAME ON THE REPUBLICANS!
Although Delegate Nichols’ anti-illegal immigration bill was killed, HB 14, which disqualifies illegal immigrants from attending state or private institutes of higher education, was passed by the House by a vote of 73-26 this week. Illegal immigrants put a strain on the college and university school system. HB 14 has strong constituent support especially from those who feel that the services provided by state colleges and universities are paid for by public dollars and should not be used by illegal immigrants who don’t pay taxes to support them. The bill is currently assigned to the Senate Committee on Health and Education.
Well, speaking of colleges, maybe that’s why HB304 was killed. Multiple students renting a house or a frat or sorority would fall under that. Not sure how they would distinguish that or be able to exempt college towns?
In urban areas it is also very common for younger folks fresh out of college to share rents.
It’s just another attempt to make a law to get a committment from someone; it’s not really a solution to illegal immigration.
Just a thought, but can this be limited by HOA’s? Any lawyers?
These fuel tankers should be a big concern to the local, state, and federal police. The right amount of detergent and fertilizer added to the oil can result in the same type of explosive used in Oklahoma City by McVeigh and his unidentified co-conspirators.
Advocator,
They first reported as fuel tankers. Then later story reads they are carrying burnt oil. The VA tags are TU-92271 & TW-47607.

DNC sponsors event honoring sadomasochism
Jeff Johnson - OneNewsNow - 2/7/2008 10:00:00 AM
The 20th annual meeting of the nation’s second most powerful homosexual activist group is welcoming some new participants — and a very recognizable sponsor.
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is holding its annual “Creating Change” conference in Detroit this week. Its sponsors claim to have trained more than 30,000 activists since 1988. Peter LaBarbera with Americans for Truth About Homosexuality has reported on the event in the past. “It’s essentially a grassroots training conference for homosexual, bisexual, transgender — and now, it turns out — sadomasochistic activists,” says LaBarbera.
The event originally focused on homosexuals, but has expanded to include individuals who are convinced that they were born into the wrong sex. The event’s handbook even addresses “transgender restroom etiquette.”
“It says that, ‘Each of us can decide for ourselves in which bathroom we belong,’” LaBarbera points out. “And, so, I mean, this movement is now getting so crazy that they can choose their own gender and then the restroom that matches that.”
And LaBarbera says he is not sure if he is more surprised by one of the sponsors of the event or by one of the activists who will be honored. “It’s incredible to me,” he continues. “But the Democratic Party is endorsing an event where they’re actually presenting an award for sadomasochism.”
A sponsorship acknowledgement notes that the Democratic National Committee gave at least $2,500 to help pay for the event. The recipient of the “Leather Leadership Award” is Guy Baldwin, a psychotherapist who has successfully lobbied against treating sadomasochism as a mental health problem.

You ought to be happy that children are getting a second language at an early age. In Fairfax Co the so called immersion classes (French, Japanese, Farsi, maybe Arabic and Mandarin too, are usually filled right away). It’s a great advantage to start early and, as you well know, Spanish is a good language to know these days. - You’ll be able to understand what “those people” are saying about you.
Just heard that Billery will be at Metz Middle School on Sunday. The Secret Service was there today sweeping the place.

Believe me - I am NOT promoting this event - I just cut and paste it from her events site. I am VERY surprised that she is coming to Manassas.
MCR,
Maybe Hillary will hang out at the 7-11 over at Coverstone. We could meet her there and give her a tour. I’m sure Park’d can give her a tour of Manassas Park.
Is it true? Is she really here in Manassas?
Do you think she’ll go over to the 9500 Liberty sign?
Has anyone heard whether the Redskins have hired a head coach?
mcr,
Just think in the same school the Manassas GOP just had their convention in. Where did you dig this up anyways?
Patty,
You give her the tour of the Liberty sign. lol
Lafayette,
I tried accessing the youtube for that documentary and I couldn’t find it. Is it under 9500 Liberty?
Loudoun, Lafayette,
05 is up for sale. I saw the sign.
Perhaps her Secret Service detail can be persueded to drive past it. I’d love to see her reaction. She’d probably have a picture taken of herself and the jerk who owns it. Someone should check the Coverstone 7-11 about 2 hours before the event. I’ll bet PWC Po-Po will have cleaned the day laborers out. “What Illegal Aliens?”

I have sources (NOT)!
A parent called me immediately (knowing how much I love the woman) HA….
And my son told me the secret service were putting cameras up everywhere.
She’s probably hoping that all of her illegal buddies show up to support her.
I’d be MORE THAN HAPPY to take her on the Coverstone 7-11 tour!

Is it summer yet? :)”
Their website says they plan on having a temporary site to work out of by April. I’m looking for alternatives, but that would mean I’d have to stop using EZ-Pool and I don’t want to do that if I don’t have to. Also, as you know, they’re such nice folks and I want to do business with them.
I haven’t been by there for quite a while. The only time I go to the Route 1 area is to go to Playtime or Big Lots.
es_la_ley,
Yeah, I don’t make it Rt 1 that often either, and with good reason.
I can’t stand the thought of not using EZ-Pool. Keep me posted on your findings. I think last year at “Pool School” they mentioned having it shipped to your house. We have a friend near Jupiter, FL we might have to send them to EZ-Pool HDQTRS, and have them send it to us. I’ve only used EZ-Pool in the pool. This year will be the third season. I agree Jackie, Tom, her parents, and the entire staff are a pleasure to do business with. I like the fact it’s familly owned and operated in our county.
Please, keep me posted. Thank you for bringing it over here. I’d seen you around where there was a chance to ask you. Now, that Greg L has these open threads it’ll be much easier.

I just came from Ron Paul’s site and I like what I read about how he feels about many issues and what he would do to resolve them, if he were President. No wonder the media tries to portray him as a nut case. They don’t want him. I think that if the U.S. Citizens could become informed about where he stands on so many issues, they might give him a good look and maybe their votes. I will be voting for Ron Paul on Tuesday. He would secure our borders and there would be NO amnesty. He would look out for Veterans and he would put a stop to the United States becoming indebted to China and the Middle East. He was in the Military. I don’t think I had ever heard that before, unlike McCain using it in every ad, speech and debate.

Do you think the Redskins will get a head coach before March?
It is frustrating. I miss Joe Gibbs.

Hillary to hit Manassas
By LILLIAN KAFKA

Saturday, February 9, 2008
A campaign stop in Manassas by Sen. Hillary Clinton this weekend is part of ramped-up activities in advance of Tuesday’s primary election in the Old Dominion.
Virginia could prove to be a tiebreaker on Tuesday, when the commonwealth, Maryland and the District of Columbia cast their votes in their own Democratic primaries. Clinton’s campaign is localizing some of its effort somewhere in Manassas.
The exact location has not yet been released.
Sens. Clinton, D-N.Y., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., whose campaigns are currently deadlocked, have scheduled intense campaigning in Northern Virginia to prepare for Tuesday.
Obama’s campaign released details on an event to be held in Alexandria at the same time as Clinton’s on Sunday.
Obama Event
The Obama Campaign has scheduled a “Stand for Change” town hall meeting and roundtable event at T.C. Williams High School, 3330 King St. in Alexandria.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. The event is free, but tickets are required. Call 703-778-6866 for availability.
Clinton Event
Clinton is scheduled to be in Manassas at 1 p.m. on Sunday, although no location was released as of press time. The location is expected to be announced today.
Representatives from her campaign office said the doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 1 p.m.

Interesting article in today’s Post: “County is training officers to focus on criminals, not federal laws”. “County officers have no direct role or authority in carrying out federal immigration laws and shouldn’t even attempt to understand them, Horan (deputy attorney general) said.” How about that? They shouldn’t even attempt to UNDERSTAND them!

Local police are taught local and state law. They are not experts on federal laws which are different regarding jurisdiction, offense hierarchy and sentencing. Local police are not required to have any college to become a police officer, yet, they should understand multiple legal systems!!! Imigration and Naturalization Law is a specialty not general law. I also think Immigration Law is more than simply three credits at most law schools.
I interpret Horan’s response to mean that they shouldn’t attempt to apply it on the street because is it fairly complex to understand.
They might get sued costing the jurisdicition millions of local tax dollars because they attempted to move into a legal area which is beyond their jurisdiction because of the consitution! Just a thought.

That is correct. That is why they notify ICE whenever there is a problem or question relating to immigration status. They are mainly being trained to recognize false documentation etc etc. and they have specific authority under the g(287) program to act as immigration agents. Correct me if I am wrong (and I know you will!)
I am on call with several local jurisdictions to identify false documents. The locals are already pretty good at spotting false I.D.s, as the quality is not good. Funny how employers accept them as authentic, though. Greed can do that to you.
Some interesting statistics about schools in the 20109 zip. Look at the amount of FREE lunches that are being “provided.”

Well folks, I would say that about 21,000 more just crossed the border during the blackout. Do we really think that our local tax dollars and 6 ICE trained officers are going to fix this. HOW much money do we have to spend badly to get this point accross???? We might as well collect taxes, throw it in a big pile and light it on fire instead!
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) — A moderate earthquake rocked Baja California in Mexico, shutting down factories near the U.S. border and leaving about 400,000 people without power, authorities said Saturday. No major damage or injuries were immediately reported.
The quake that struck around 11:15 p.m. Friday had a preliminary magnitude of 5.4, said Jessica Sigala, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Golden, Colorado. It was centered 16 miles southeast of the border town of Mexicali and about 100 miles east of Tijuana.
“It has been felt pretty widely in Southern California, southwestern Arizona and probably northern Mexico,” Sigala said.
It was followed by at least 15 aftershocks, including four with preliminary magnitudes of 3.8, 3.6, 3.5 and 3.0.
The quake left about 400,000 people without electricity and 1.2 million without cellular telephone service, said Fire Capt. Rene Rosado, director of civil defense in Mexicali.
About 80,000 workers were evacuated or were unable to enter factories for Sony Corp., Honeywell International Inc. and other major corporations that typically run 24 hours a day until the buildings could be checked for damage, he said.
Two bridges showed 2- to 3-inch cracks and were closed until engineers could assess their safety, he said.
The Baja peninsula is a geologically active region. In 2006, a magnitude 5.4 temblor struck the Mexicali area, but there were no injuries or damage

I stopped shopping there about 2-3 years ago due to the newspaper reports of people being stabbed, mugged in the parking lot. Both of the stores there need an overhaul. I drive down to Warrenton if I feel the need to go to Wal-mart or over to Liberia for Home depot. Nicer shopping experiences at the latter stores. Just my opinion but I heed what I read.
I too will drive far out of my way for better shopping environments. For a days worth of shopping, we will drive down 95 to Glen Allen. Virginia Commons Mall is verra nice and there are the usual other stores and resturants. With lovely customer service and much improved clientele.
Recommend it highly for a pleasant day of shopping. And it’s about 60 miles away.

What’s up with the Hyltonian on Strasburg next to the Frappier’s? There were a ton of cars there last night and two cars no plates and one parked in the back on the grass.

Forgot about that indictment. Heli flying around early this am was probably due to the murder of the cab driver on Liberia. Time-frame fits. Don’t know what’s going on next to Frappiers. That whole block seems to be shutting down with empty houses. Will check around. The house on the right as you come out of Amherst Dr onto Lomond DR at the yeild sign had 8 cars parked in the driveway last Sunday morning. That is not the exception though. Must be real “cozy” in that house as it very small. Might have some shenannigans (sp) going on there.
We took a trip down to Richmond yesterday to attend the “Virginia Immigrant People’s Coalition” and “Mexicans Without Borders” rally. The link to the story is as follows:
http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/news.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-02-10-0297.html
One of our group was assaulted by illegal alien apologists. All we were doing was standing around listening and taking pictures. We were merely observers.
The coordinator of the protest had the police move some of us back. The coordinator also objected to some of the homeless people’s presence - as well as the presence of the undercover DHS officers.
The park had about 40 homeless persons, many being disabled veterans, watching from the benches. The homeless people cannot believe that the illegals are protesting for rights when the homeless people, U.S. citizens, cannot get assistance from our government. The illegal aliens are taking away jobs and resources from our own citizens.
The pro-illegal alien apologists were discussing how this is their country, that we are the illegal aliens. They implied that they are Native Americans.
One of the banners accused those opposed to illegal immigration of “segregation.”
A link to the photos will be forthcoming.
Both oil tankers found without fuel in Baltimore according to the Journal Mess. PWC Hernandez says stealing fuel tankers is unusual at least in this country. Maybe the PWCPD is getting a clue.
Loundoun,
Excellent post as usual.
This was a heartbreaking scene to see those that have served our great nation homeless. Meanwhile, the illegal aliens and their apologists are doing their thing.
The lady that told the BOS “kiss my ass” was there, the owner of the Liberty Wall, and of course Nancy, Ricky, and John Steinbach.

Didn’t get a good look at the one in the back yard but if it is inregistered, zoning should be called. The other location on Liberia/Amherst had only 5 cars in the driveway at 06:30 and same were there at 10:30.

I will be making the call on Strasburg.
I assume in your last post you are talking about the last house on Lomond before you cross the bridge? I think they might have an untagged vechicle or two there also.
We noticed the house on right on Lomond just before Stuarts with car for sale and no tag. Is that one you’ve called in?
Which inspector got back in touch with you regarding Lomond Dr? Was it Mr. S or Sr. C? Things are looking better in the back streets. We now must get Lomond Dr and Loch Lomond cleaned up.
Loch Lomond NEEDS the clean sweep we had last spring. I was down there yesterday. OMG is all I can say. You would nuts looking at that place.

That is the one I called in.
The other one with the 8 cars in the driveway (only 5 today lol) is the house to the right as you come off of Amherst street (at the yield sign) onto Lomond. It has a long driveway off to the left of the house and exits on Lomond. Believe it is dark blue or dark grey.
The inspector was Mr. S.
Am familiar (or was) with Amherst Dr. as I always used it on the way home from work (Compton to Yorkshire Ln to Amherst to Lomond. There is a mess in back of those houses on the Flat Branch side. Were all kinds of trucks, vans etc parked in back. Looked like the junk yard.
The rally was directed at the few misguided people who feel that this “illegal” situation is only about that. This battle is for the right of common man to work with dignity and that means “you”. If our country continues to outsource than we will be the “illegal” in another part of God’s land. Until all of us open our eyes up and realize that big corporation can NOT continue to go where ever they want displacing the common wo/man and forcing this migration we all are in danger. Until we can control somewhat the International Monetary Funds banks there will be countries financially falling we could be next. N.A.F.T./C.A.F.T.A. is good only to the more wealthy, most of us are not in that catagory. Read “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” by John Perkins this will enlighten you. Only when both sides are willing to talk with respect and find a common ground this confussion will continue. For those of you who say “what is it about illegal you don’t understand?” I say what is it about “greed, control mannia, and bulling” that you don’t understand? What is it about taking responsibility for what our own government is doing, that you do not understand. When the truth is revealed then we can start to resolve the issue. Who sailed across the “ocean blue” study your history, the Mexicans and the American Indian where already here or do you disagree. Who betrayed their to defend there country? The American who became Mexicans, thats who. We need to get along!!

Did anyone notice the percentages of kids on the free or reduced lunch program? Outrageous.
STONEWALL JACKSON HS 25.9
STONEWALL MIDDLE 57.1
SINCLAIR ELEM 57.1
MULLEN ELEM 54.1
SUDLEY ELEM 27.5
ELLIS ELEM 40.8
WEST GATE ELEM 67.4
YORKSHIRE ELEM 59.3
LOCH LOMOND 56.9
Notice that in the schools with the high percentages of
Hispanics that the free/reduced lunch is so much higher. How long will we sustain this program? I used
to bring my lunch to school cause there were 5 of us
and we couldn’t afford the school lunches. Now it’s
just too easy to fill out paperwork and get it all free.
Next, percentages will be 100%. Then what?
madmom,
Check your email!
DAFFODILS
Who knows what to do tonight to keep the daffodils from freezing? I have some that are budding. The temperature is supposed to go down in the single digits. HELP!!

What is not noted is the fact they get breakfast too! When I was a kid, you brought your lunch (like you) and if you were able to afford it, you bought. When did this “free lunch and breakfast” enter the picture. Now we feed them as well as educate them. WHAT NEXT?
It is my understanding that there is no checks and balances when it comes to verifying the income stated. You would think with the percentages being so high that they will consider it.
Green Thumb,
Many thanks. I put grocery bags over the ones with buds. The rest…keeping my fingers crossed.
999,
The school lunch program started in 1946 and has expanded a great deal since then. There is very little verification involved. I am sure it is rife with abuse. On the other hand, I would not deny a kid a meal. It sure does make me want to go up to Stonewall Middle and dump a box of nails in front of someone’s Lexus as they dump off their their kids for free breakfast.
Dolph,
Best of luck with those dafs! I’ve had mine encrusted with ice in years past - so they should be fine.
What I want to know is - how you are securing those paper bags down with all this wind?
Dolph, just keep breathing your hot air on them and they’ll do fine.
Bridget,
I put rocks on the corners and used a couple of light hangers that go into the ground to stake the plastic bags. Only a few had buds so those were the only ones I worried about.
And it was very windy here. I have strange gargage cans in my yard.
The welcome mat is certainly out with regards to the free school breakfast and lunches. We also provide all the school supplies. Do you buy your child school supplies each year? Schools provide everything–pencils, paper, bookbags, coats, etc. to any child who needs them. Of course this is the kind thing to do. BUT, is certainly makes it tempting to those in other countries to come enjoy our hospitality. No wonder we have problems.

redawn,
Unbelievable. I did hear many European’s were going to New York to do Christmas shopping. I wonder if that got the ball rolling in this direction?
Wow, the hen house is a cacklin’ now.
What I suggest is everyone just stop responding to Liela and it will go away. As long as you respond, it has something to say.

Thanks for the article.
Great article, Anon. I wonder how these people could live if they didn’t send back money to their home countries. It seems they choose to live in poverty here to send their money elsewhere. It doesn’t make sense, especially when leaving their children behind to do so.
madmom,
I would have to say, that you have to keep in mind about the dollar conversion and they look at it as a sacrifice for the better of their family ( to send it home) I admire that. The family values ( what really matters in this world) seem to be greater then us Americans. I know that sounds as if I am being apologetic, but I noticed that while in Italy.( your 2nd cousins were as close as a brother or sister, I have always admired that!)
Fairly long piece from PWC police training on Lou Dobbs show earlier, 7 pm, tonight. I was expecting Greg to pop up somewhere in there.
Just like this article I found today. When do you stop it before it starts?
DISTRACTION seems to be the key ( clever as always)

“At the time ages 3 through 11, the girls were arrested by U.S. authorities after crossing the border. Llanes left their youngest, born in Manassas, with her husband and boarded her first plane.”
Too many holes in that story. Sounds like the WP is trying to play the “guilt trip” on PWC residents. Pray tell how did she managed to get on an airplane and fly to Phoenix with no ID. It didn’t happen! The whole story has to have “made up.”
Lou Dobbs had a segment tonite re the PWC police training and the rule of law. The Hazelton, PA case will be coming up again shortly on appeal. If I were a betting man I would put my money on them winning the appeal. Mayor Lou is going to run for congress.

Westgate Witch,
I may do a fly by on some areas tomorrow. It all depends on the weather. My feathers don’t work well in snow and sleet. Looks like 17 KG will kick the bucket soon. Any word on what P.P.B. is?
:}
Woodstock,
What time does the snow and sleet start? I sure hope the paint doesn’t run. If you fly down KG, check out the Pinta, Nina, and Santa Maria for me. What a slum.
…….and we’re worried about global warming.

now illegals are pimping out each other…nice!
battlecat,
i had to break out a box of tissues for that one, not! I’m not sure if that woman ever heard the phrase “made your bed, now lie in it”
To top it all off, she put her children in the hands of smugglers! can you think of anything worse for a parent to do? I dont let mine out of my site! She lost hers for 2.5 years! So not only is she illegal, but she’s a crappy parent to boot.
The resolution is working, it’s scaring the illegals and this is a good thing. Just pack up and go home. They themselves know it’s only a matter of time before they get picked up.
Vigilant1,
I still think it’s safe to say she’s in WG. New self deportation diagonally from my backyard on Damascus.
Josh,
Well, at least this story in not from PWC.
Maybe, they were “PWC self-deportees”.
re: post story
I think the mother and the smugglers should have charges brought against them for their illegal activity getting these kids here.

The more self-deportations the merrier! Expect we will be seeing a lot more “empties” in the coming months. We shall see (and hope.)
I can’t see the self deportations through my tears… hope they take their chickens with them, bok bok bok (to borrow from another thread).
Keep the pressure on, folks. Chip away, until all of their reasons to stay have dissolved.
I would have voted in the Primary if I was able to get home in time.
Left work in DC at 3:30 and got home at 8:00. Was stuck in the HOV lanes north of Edsal Rd for 2 1/2 hours, then bailed and took side roads. What a nightmare!

This is an easy one, set them up with Sheriff Joe in AZ!!!
Maybe this is a solution, set up the tent city in AZ like Sheriff Joe has. Move all of the detained ILLEGAL aliens to this tent city. The cost is low and it is easier to house all of them in tents. This could work!! We solve several issues including space in our detention centers. This allows all jurisdictions to use premium space for other violent offenders and keeps the cost low. Each state will pay for the detention of the ILLEGAL aliens they send to the tent city, but it will be a reduced since the cost is so low.
Mr. Medic,
We’ve talked about the idea of a tent city her. I personally like the idea, and use the Fair Grounds behind the Armory. We need Joe A. here in PWC. I’ve never really understood the concept of prisoners being sheltered in a climate controlled building for their “3 hots and a cot”.
Lafayette - Yea, who needs climate control during an ice storm. Certainly not illegals. Tents will do just fine.
Lafayette,
I do not think this is the idea -place since the weather is so cold. AZ has nice weather during the winter, but gets very hot in the summer. This is really more conducive to having people live outside.
Krutis and Medic,
I know we do NOT have the ideal climate for this, but it is not the worst either. There could be some form of minimal heat provided. Even if we had the perfect climate for it here, we would NOT see it happen. I remind you many soldiers and refugees have lived in tent cities through out the time.
Please, I think you took this way more seriously then it was meant to be.
Take it easy, and I can’t believe I’m addressing the two of you in the same post.-lol
Lafayette said on 14 Feb 2008 at 4:30 pm:
Me EITHER!!! I am not taking it too serious
I agree while the soldiers are sleeping in tents or less, it is not right that prisoners get to have 3 hots and a cot.

“anyone brew their own beer around here?”
Yes! I do!
“I just bottled a pretty good batch today, will be even better in a few weeks for sure after aging. I figure I’ll fire up another batch this week.”
I kegged a batch this past weekend. I’ll tap it sometime in March. I’m short of time right now, but let me know how your batch turns out. We could share experiences with the art of brewing.
Lafayette and M64 - Then we have those fresh-air, like-to-hike types, who go out and sleep in tents FOR FUN - without cots - without being soldiers - without being prisoners AND without sheriff Joe breathing down their necks.
Yes, I’ve done it many times with a bunch of girlscouts, 12 and under, some who had never been away from home, let alone slept outdoors. It’s not too bad when you know that you’ll be home in a few days.
You know, I was just thinking - what a waste of human energy to keep those guys under cover all day long, when they could be out working on the Sun City golf courses and the rich, old folks’ gardens, not to mention doing garbage pick-up, street cleaning, cleaning public toilets, etc. etc. All they do now is hang around waiting for their baloney sandwiches. What a shame! Bet we could find something for our ICEd people to do too.
Krutis,
I’ve loved to camp since I was child and still do to this very day, and take the kids along too. There’s nothing like a break from electricity, television, computer, etc. I sleep on the ground too. I’m sorry to say I was not a girl scout, but I guessed you figured that out sometime ago, huh?
There’s nothing like having fun in the great outdoors.
Lafayette - I agree - - - when it’s voluntary!
Krutis said on 14 Feb 2008 at 9:21 pm
I have said all along that should be done. Problem is the ACLU says it is not right for them to have to do it. BS!!! Let them pick up trash and do other gov’t side jobs. Mow the lawn, water the flowers and pull the weeds.
