Mr. Wills,
I didn't find the comment redawn did. We are not the same person, I assure. I was just getting to the first week of December, and they found it. I copied it when I saw it was posted so I would have it upon your return.

John Q. Publics, were also GREEDY. They loved the "bidding wars" when houses were selling in a day or two. Oh, let's not forget those sly investors too. I was also, told by a Latino realtor that over half of these folks never even saw their purchases of lifetime until after they'd gone to settlement. This is a crazy. I bet you test drove that truck before you bought it. I only know about this because I agree with you 110% on the issue of personal property tax, especially those with high mileage. I used to beg, plead, and gravel for the assessment reduction. I was driving to DC everyday. This same real estate agent told me they were never told that the property value could decrease. There were absolutely no guns to anyone's head, just greed.

I believe in accountabilty. However, it's a dieing trait in people I think today.

Agreed those "county professionals" I spoke of were priced out years ago. Then during this last boom they were priced out for good, until the bust. There is a county program for affordable housing and loans for these folks. There's a very limited few of these though, and there is a lottery to get in on the deal.

The funny thing about this is...I probably closer to the same page than 90% of the posters on here.

Thanks for the history. I will take that as some apology, and I glady accept it. Really, I am NOT the enemy here.

DC shut down... I shudder at that thought. I was working downtown during the "shut down" you spoke of some 21 years ago. I don't miss travelling down there daily to work. I'll be hoping for the best for your "getting out of Dodge". Seriously, I hope you have a safe trip and get out before this starts about noon tomorrow. Anyways, be sure to stop by bvbl when you return. I can't imagine anything will have changed around her by then.

See you in three weeks. I hope you are going somewhere warm and sunny. :)

Lafayette(Mistletoe for Dec.) said on 10 Dec 2007 at 1:06 pm:
The last “big batch” of adjustable rates mortgages are due to read just through next year. It is buyers market even now in PWC. Our county employess(teachers, law enforcement, first responders, etc) got priced out of the market a few years ago due to GREED by the real estate agents, brokers, and lenders.

Lafayette are you as dumb as Stewart when it comes to real estate. The GREED is the public who was dumb enough to think that RE could go up and up and up and they were going to get RICH and RICHER as if there was no end to it all. Stewart about a year ago while sitting on the board made the comment ” I wish someone had told me this was going to happen to real estate” No one forced the public to pay the prices they did for their houses. They were flipping contracts making all kinds of money with the idea that it was all golden. The employees of PW have been put out of the market for years and the policies of Stewart and the other no growth better then the rest of the world people are to blame. Stewart only wants BIG EXPENSIVE houses that meet his approval for how you should live.

You found it very quickly and I have not left yet but will very soon !!!!!

I was harsh on you Lafayette but you were talking like Stewart who blames everything on everyone else. You blamed the RE Agents, Brokers and Lenders. Where was the blame for the John Q Public? John Q got greedy and stupid thinking that nothing would every happen except for housing prices to go up and up and up and up. Stewart had that mentality and he is still in dream land.

As for teachers, police and fire department employees and especialy the teacher they have not had a chance for years to be able to afford to buy a new house no matter what county they work in Even Fairfax county does not pay a new teacher hardly enough for them to rent an appartment. Police and Firemen at least get paid over time not a teacher.

Were the Agents, Lenders and Brokers a major contributor to this problem absolutly.. but like people who go out and spend more then they can afford no one put a gun to their head and made them sign the contract to buy or the note to buy the property.

Wall Street could stop this housing debacal very simply. Do like the auto industry who put 0 interest on vehicles so they could sell them and keep in business. Yes Wall Street might not be able to pay out a 39 billion dollar bonus this year but by getting the principal back there would also be no losses either and people would still have their homes.

Of course that would mean that they cared about what was happening to the public and we know that is not true.

I am an equal opportunity sweet old bob and believe in equality for all not just a few. I learned a long time ago that when you ask what two and two equal if fffff or four is not the first sound you hear then you never will.

Some appoligy and some history

I hope it does not snow while I am gone like the last time I took this trip and DC was shut down for a couple of days 21 years ago.

Believe me, it was in my head and easy to find.

Mr. Willis,
I AGREE with you re: the County and zoning claiming ownership ( control) of OUR property!!!!!!!! I have a HUGE problem with that.
I would be in a HOA if not.

The so called economy of this county for several years was based on borrowed money not increases in family income. Well the tap has been turned off and so will the economy. Valuation of property are about the level of 02 per many appraisors and it will be 18 to 24 months before we see any real upswing in the market if then.

As long as the public elects people who tell them what they want to hear noe of this mess will be solved."

Mr. Wills,
I will try to dig it up during that time period. I stated earlier it would take some work to find, but I will.
You aren't around here enough for me to need a vacation from like some. Have a safe trip if you are travelling on "my" three week vacation. :)
Take care.

However, you still have failed to address saying I was stupidier than Corey Stewart. Well, I don’t care either. I’m sure we’ve BOTH been called much worse and will be many more times in our lifetimes.

Lafayette If you can tell me where I said that and I am not saying I did not I will reread and let you know if I once again made a mistake or believe you might need a history lesson :)))

You get a three week vacation from me though.

Mr. Wills,
There's NO doubt in my mind that you could take anything the public would try to dish out. I certainly think you would be silent and listening to all that spoke. I can't say I'm surprised they would do this. Politicians are NOT to be trusted.

With regards to Mr. Crone. I was there that day. I was stunned to say the very least that they would have the cops remove him on a day when there was plenty of excitement to go around. I was so disturbed by the whole thing I took pictures to make sure I really witnessed what I thought I had. This was dispicable in my book.

Agreed, a positive around here wouldn't hurt now and then. I try to post the positive things after the negative has been pointed out. I've five friends killed by drunk drivers and one was young girl on Vint Hill Rd at 8:30am while her mother held her hand while waiting for the school bus. I'm sure you remember that. You really are a "historian" of sorts of PWC, and for that you have my respect.

I admit I came short of calling you a name, but I feel I did not.
You don't care what does it matter, right? (per you)
However, you still have failed to address saying I was stupidier than Corey Stewart. Well, I don't care either. I'm sure we've BOTH been called much worse and will be many more times in our lifetimes. :)

I’m sure we’ve BOTH been called much worse and will be many more times in our lifetimes.

Mr. Wills,
First off, I did NOT call you a big mouth. Please, reread my comment. True, I came short of saying it. I don’t claim that to be most respectful comment. This is what I said..

I am not sure how you claim that you did not call me something but who cares. I am use to it. One time the BOCS had to hold a public meeting at a High School because of me so everyone who realy was not happy with me could come. There was an me and a whole autatourm full of people who did not like me. The public talked and talked and said a whole lot of things about me :)). When I got up to speak they started booing and yelling. Unlike Stewart who had plain close cops who took an old man out of the meeting I handeled it all by my self. I told the public that I had listened without interunption and they were going to give me the same courtisy as I gave them. I would answer each and every questions asked. If they did not want treat me the same as I treated them then I would walk out and no questions would be answered. I talked and they listened and answered thier questions and no more problems.

Not sure what reply you are possible looking for about the PWCBOS being two faced but will talk to anyone about that. I wish Greg would take this blog to make PWC a better place in all aspect of the county not just immigration. If an illegal kills someone we will read about it here. Did not notice a word about the Manager who was killed by a group of probably legal citizens. Hope it was not because he was gay. I love the gun control fanatics who want every gun taken away. I tell them the only problems with guns is there are not enough people killed with them every day. After all look at all the people killed by cars and drunks and that seems not to bother them or they would want to take away all cars and booze. I never understood how the way you die makes more of a difference and is more of a crime.

I don't think anyone wants this area to become like Houston TX. We have enough sprawl and ugly architecture with at least a modicum of zoning ordinances in effect. I would hate to see what things would be like without some restrictions in place.

Now, do YOU recall sometime back..Saying that I was stupidier than Corey S? Now, that's totally disrespectful to INSULT someone's intelligence. I would have to do some serious digging on bvbl to go back and find the statement. I'm sure your remember. You, do remember that little White House comment, don't you?
How respectful was your comment?

Our PWCBOS are two faced and believe the public is dumb enough to buy into the lies year after year and they are right about that.
Well, I think this very thing could be said about ALL politicians. They care about getting elected, and after that business as usual. Business is usual is not good enough. The citizens of our nation deserve better this.

Leave a reply...or you can contact Greg to discuss this off the blog.
I will not be belittled, berated, and talked down to by YOU or anyone else on this green earth.

BTW-Excellent take on the Elrod tract.
Have a great day, sir! :)

Mr. Wills,
You don’t have the slightest idea of what I might or might not to change things. I’m a decent person and I don’t go around acting like I know it all. I have done many things for my native county of PWC in my short lifetime. What have you done?

I put all of Hylton's zoned property that was allowed into Land Use Valuation which is one of the worst laws going back in the 70's. Of course if Hylton did something it must be wrong per the public and MJM. When other people like the Elrod track did it and cost the county over 100,000.00 a year in forgiven RE Taxes for Zoned land it was OK. Well the MJM called and talked to me but the trusting sole that I am talked frankly. They put into the paper correctly that I said "that Land use Taxation for zoned property screwed the public." Seafelt got all upset at that comment. People who ask for zoned property should pay all of the RE taxes as the cost of being granted that zoning and its rights. They are not intitled to a reducation as is granted to farms which is A-1. After five years the defered RE Tax is forgiven and that is a crock. Well that uproar I caused came to the General Assembly in the next session and it was changed so that if property is zoned other then A-1 or the lowest desigination of zoning in that county it does not qualify for Land Use Valuation. That has brought millions of dollars into PWC rather then giveing it away and making the home owner make up the difference. I am happey that I have brought that money into the county. that is just one thing and there are more. There will also be more to come in the future :)

The zoning on the Elrod track for a Mall is the reason we do not have one in Eastern PWC. The Four Horsemen can take credit for that.

The other thing is that zoned property has been assesed as it should at higher values then A-1. Caddigan, Noeh, and Stewart whine about stale zoning and what it is suppoed to cost the county as they can not black mail the owner when it comes to building. Some of this zoned property has been so for 50 years. Why is the county not taking that excess value for the zoned land and applying it completly toward the capital improvments need in the county rather then just spending it on general expenses? Our PWCBOS are two faced and believe the public is dumb enough to buy into the lies year after year and they are right about that.

I can assure I do NOT like everything I see going in our government and society as whole. I do my part to improve our community which you are member of. I even want the best for you. What you fail to realize I enjoyed your comments and thought to the BOS for years now. Oh, yes I agree with quite a bit you tell them. I am an INDEPENDENT to the core!

One thing you fail to know or understand is that I do things to get a wrong corrected or to give comments to what will solve a problem. I do none of this to make other happy but to make sure my children and grandchildren have the rights as granted by the Constitution. The Lynch Mob mentality of Stewart, May and Stirup that we will do the will of the people is totaly illegal. The only oath the BOCS took is to uphold the Constitution of the US and Virginia nothing more or less.

Until you’ve talked to me or know anything about me you really should reserve your comments on my mentality and it’s capabalities. It’s called respect, and it doesn’t cost you a dime.

I guess calling me a big mouth is you way of being respectiful ???????

I come here to learn and not to berate others. However, you are entitled to your opinion. There is something to me said for your spirit.(this is not meant to be nasty in the least)
Be sure and say hello next time your down at the McCoart Bldg. to “give ‘em hell”.

BTW-Zoning is public enemy number one in my book. We actually agree on quite a bit of it, just not all.

Zoning is not the issue to me it is the two faced way that government thinks your property is theirs to tell you what you can do with it. In Houston TX they have no zoning and you the individual can put covenents on the property to say how it can be used and the City Attorney inforces your covents

I an assure you that I never piss at the BOS aor moan either. The difference between me and you is that I have won more court cases in more states then you have over the abuse of power and two faced policies of county governements. We have a BOS who pass special zoning to benefit just one group and not the people of PWC. May you stand for that kind of special interest politics but I do not and never will. Maybe you approve of the Staff and BOS requiring a Black man who askes for rezoing to reduce his number of units and to have to agree to sell one unit for 1/3 less the market price while white men only have to pay 250.00 per unit toward affordable housing. I could go on but you have a limited abiltiy to know what is legal and right.

Maybe you like for the staff to screw you on your real estate assesment valuation but I don't. Of course you will never try to change things so that a human being has the same rights as a horse in shelter. I could go on and on but you have limited ability to understand that we operate under a Constitution where one person has all the rights of everyone else in the country even if a majority do not like it not a lynch mob mentality
