I know exactly where the 3400 block of Carlin Springs Road is - being five minutes from my home. It’s an apartment complex on the border of Arlington and Fairfax Counties. There are so many residents in the complex that their overflow parking problems stream into my neighborhood.

Those deported have been both legal immigrants and illegal aliens. I don’t think the Commonwealth is positive of the exact number of legal immigrants and illegal aliens that are currently in the prison system and who might “qualify” to be deported using this program.

I am trying to understand the facts in this story. Are the 135 sex offenders in our system all illegal, or foreign nationals, some of whom are illegal? Ditto for the 36 sex offenders who have been released into the community and are on the register.

My point is that ALL foreign nationals who commit sex crime should be deported. No criminals should be allowed to stay here, regardless of immigration status. In addition, if the commonwealth would pass legislation that would make it next to impossible for illegal aliens to live and work in Virginia, we could avoid many of these crimes int he first place. People who break the law just be being here are willing to break other laws.

This is a great start, and Attorney General McDonnell should be commended for taking action to make Virginia safer for women and children (who make up the majority of victims). Virginia residents have been begging for this, and finally somone took positive action. All the while the senate and governor are still ignoring the problem.

There was a recent case of a women who entered a shame marriage in order to gain Citizenship, she was given the boot even though she was Naturalized.

Boy, do I love how the COMPOST put a spin on the deportation story. I suppose Greg has a better connection with law enforcement, since the COMPOST said the report did not contain the addresses of the offenders.

Yes. This is true, but it is VERY rare that citizenship is revoked. The cases I am aware of revolved around people who were granted citizenship under false pretenses, like Nazi war criminals who emigrated to the US, and entered under an assumed name, or people who lied about being fugitives from legitimate justice in their home countries.
