Help Save Manassas will have their next General Membership meeting on Wednesday, February 27th at 8:00PM at the Manassas City Council Chambers in Old Town. With all that’s happening right now, this is your opportunity to get up to speed on simultaneous initiatives happening in Prince William County and Manassas City, as well as the climax of the General Assembly session. Be there, and be informed.
A lot of important legislation, including adoption of the Section 287(g) Program in Virginia is being considered by the Senate Courts of Justice Committee, Prince William County is due to start implementing the Rule of Law Resolution in the county police department on March 3rd, public procurement reform is on the agenda in the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, and day laborer sites are back in full swing in the county. If you want to find out what’s going on, and what you can do to help, you need to be there.

On Saturday, who read the article in The Washington Post about “Anti-immigrant Effort Takes hold in Md.” The link is below.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/22/AR2008022202855.html?sub=AR
I don’t agree how the Post labeled the article as “Anti-immigrant” and it should have been “Anti ILLEGAL-immigrant” but the group Help Save Maryland (Charles County Chapter) is led by a Black Woman and the article mentions Help Save Manassas.
I’ve said all along that once the word got out in the African-American Community this idea (ridding the area of illegals) would take off!
Yes, Angry Blackman! she credits HSM’s website as leading her to Help Save Maryland. Props to HSM for the assist in getting her pointed in the right direction!
Anyone know anything about the PWCPD activity (three cruisers, one with lights flashing) at the Coverstone day laborer site at about 0900 today?
I saw a police cruiser at one of the two “bunk houses” this morning in my neighborhood (at around 5:30am). I sure hope that the cop noticed that it is a bunk house whilst carrying out his/her duties.
