Can't wait to see Marshall or Gilmore get sliced and diced by Mark Warner. Greg, when are you going to start a prediction contest, after the Marshall/Gilmore convention?

What an absolute joke for Frederick to talk about somebody's methods. He's a hypocrite in exactly the same "boat" as Marshall. Talk about projecting!

You're right, Greg and Shaun--at least Marshall NEVER has to apologize for a bad vote. Unlike Frederick who WALKED AWAY on one of the biggest votes (transportation) in recent history. What a coward.

My wife and I will be attending the convention to vote for Marshal. While I am sure Gilmore would make a fine Senator, he can not win against Warner. For some reason there are a large amount of Republicans that do not like Gilmore. This will be a tough race for any Republican. I am going to vote for Marshall becouse he has the only chance of winning the seat.

I am hopeful that both Gilmore and Marshall will run respectable, respectful, campaigns for the nomination. I've known and liked both of them for nearly two decades. I worked to get both of them elected on multiple occasions. It's a very tough choice, and the problem for the GOP is having what I believe to be two very strong candidates, both of whom have been and will be smeared shamelessly by the far Left.

Question for Marshal and Gilmore:

In campaign after campaign for more than thirty years,
Republicans have been denoucing Roe vs. Wade.
Yet even though they have held the White House for
most of that time - and made 12 of the last 14 Supreme
Court appointments - abortion remains legal. Why?

Now, now, Anon 1:00, just because Bob's sister is on "Nip/Tuck," doesn't mean he has "connections to the adult film industry."

As for Bob Berry, nice guy. Supported him over Rollison before Frederick ran for that seat. And unless he has something that I have yet to see, he's absolutely the wrong guy to run against Mark Warner.

Gilmore has NO legislative experience. Marshall has 17 years. Before Marshall won the VA Delegate office I believe he worked on the hill for several years in Bob Dornan's office. So Marshall definitely has the big advantage on experience.

How dare you make accusations like that against such an honorable man. If your going to run your mouth, than where's the proof?
shame on you.

Frederick is supporting Gilmore and complained about Marshall's methods.

As for Gilmore being popular outside of NOVA, I don't believe this is true at all right now. If you are down 20% statewide, NOVA is not the only problem you have. You have very serious issues statewide. Gilmore can definitely win, but he has much work to do. While Gilmore might be marginally better on the War on Terror, he is far worse with the war against the unborn. That is why this is such a tough choice. Both Gilmore and Marshall are good and honorable men.

I wish we had a canidate who was pro-life and experienced in foreign relations. It is a shame we have to pick. Plenty of Republican Congressmen and women in this state have great credentials for this senate seat but its a shame they are so comfortable in their House seat they refuse to attempt to serve at a higher level.

"...and do completely agree with Kenney about Marshall, Frederick does make a decent point as well in the article about Marshall’s methods."

I like Jeff, but how effective/respected is he REALLY in Richmond??? With Gilmore, you have a former Virginia Governor, VERY cognizant of foreign affairs and the War on Terror, and outside of Northern Virginia, still pretty popular. While Bob is very popular in PWC, he just doesn't have the oomph (if that is the right spelling) as Gilmore in places like Henrico, Chesterfield County, or New Market.

Bob, if he is to win, will have to convince voters in NoVA (outside of PWC) that he is not a wack-job anti-abortionist and convince those elsewhere in the state that he is not some Dam* Yankee representing Northern Virginia.

While I am not a huge Gilmore fan yet, and do completely agree with Kenney about Marshall, Frederick does make a decent point as well in the article about Marshall's methods. If you cannot get along with your Republican friends in either the Virginia GA or the US Senate you will get nothing done. Protesting about things like unelected tranportation authorities are nice but its also nice to get most of your bills through a Republican dominated HOD. Marshall has a difficult time getting many of his bills out of committee much less make it to the floor.

With Marshall and Gilmore you will get a similiar philosphy with the exception of abortion, the biggest difference will be their methods. Gilmore might get more bills passsed because he will fit in better with inside Washington, while Marshall may have a very difficult time getting things even out of committee but he will be a Patrick Henry type.

Its a tough call so I am still undecided.

Well, Carl (Kilo), I suspect that those endorsements in a GOP primary are akin to the New York Slime's endorsement of John McCain in the GOP presidential primary: of the choices, Marshall is considered to be better, but when it comes time for the real election in November, they'll all be going home to the Democrat nominee.
