Well, anonymous one, you prove to all that you have no idea what you are talking about. It is amazing when I see comments like these about our Delegates from people who have never stepped outside of the County.

As someone who has witnessed Hon. Nichols first hand, I have to tell you that Paul has been doing an exemplary job representing the 51st in Richmond. I have seen him on the floor, seem him in meetings, witnessed leaders of BOTH parties approach him and thank him for the hard work he is doing.

It is good that the 51st finally has someone in Richmond who is representing the 51st well and is actually respected. As far as your comment about Ms. Lucas…getting on the badwagon a bit late now, aren’t you???

And I am not sanguine about Lyle’s prospects for “unit[ing]” the GOP, “Ari.” The first time that he takes a stand, the same people who have attacked Kopko — largely but not exclusively hiding behind pseudonyms — will start throwing their peurile brickbats.

Special recognition to Kopko for knowing when to fold, and to Trent Barton for not muddying the water.

By the way Jimmy boy, that status you are continuously crowing about was achieved by climbing on the backs of those who came before…systematically building the Republican Party in PWC from the time in the early 70’s when this was a totally Dem county. All you children had to do was add the final touches to a Republican tapestry which was created by the sweat and blood of those who came before. The only one that I have EVER heard claim sole credit for achieving majority status in PWC in those Johnny-Come-Lately years has been you. Everyone else seems to be a bit more familiar with our County political history.

And wow, opditch: you’re a funny guy. I do know what you mean: for the uninformed, I served as Parliamentarian for four separate Chairman of the Committee, numerous conventions (when I wasn’t Rules Committee Chairman), and the 8th and 11th Congressional District Committees long before opditch ever darkened a PWC GOP meeting with his presence. But maybe his manifest accomplishments as part of Julie Lucas’ “Brain Trust” (charitably monikered) justify his assumption of that role.

ok JY, I’ll hold my comeback on your Parliamentarian jab… we would have to delve into some PWCRC history of that position…. if you know what I mean…he he.

To be a little more specific, the Convention will still have to be held in order to elect delegates to the District and State Conventions. No small duty, but one likely to be non-controversial, as there has been no history, since the PW/Manassas split in 1991, for slating and/or instructing delegates. So long as fewer than the number of available delegate spots apply to be delegates to those conventions, all will be elected.

As for OP’s sarcastic “offer,” I have professional duties which would preclude accepting any active role, like an impending Supreme Court argument in October or November (you know, actually fighting the far Left on a daily basis in deed).

And who is it who has a “my way or the highway” attitude, after all? Those of us who have stuck with the Committee through thick and thin, and were in the leadership when, after all, the GOP was achieving majority status in PWC? Or those who take their ball and go home when they don’t like the result?

Kopko’s departure is a blow to the Democrats.
