The Wait Is Over, The Crackdown Begins

Monday, March 3rd is the day when the Prince William County Police Department begins enforcing their new General Order that permits officers to question suspected illegal aliens about their immigration status, and turn over to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement foreign nationals who do not have legal presence in the United States. After more than nine months of public debate, policy development, officer training and resource allocation, Prince William County residents have finally overturned the Department’s previous policy that restricted officers from even asking a suspect about his legal status unless he was suspected of committing a felony offense. It took a frustratingly long time to correct a policy that was in violation of federal law and make it into something that made sense, but at least we got this fixed. The waiting is over.
Monday is either going to be unremarkable, or the opportunity to kick-off a significant enforcement effort. If Chief Deane has his way, tomorrow is going to be duller than dull, with no apparent change in law enforcement behavior so as to assuage the fears of a loud but rather small faction of leftists that think the best way to achieve a harmonious society is to stop enforcing the law. I’m sure Deane would love to come back to these folks and tell them that really, there wasn’t any reason to worry, and yes a few illegal aliens will get caught up in this, but just enough to keep the Board of County Supervisors off the back of the Police Department. There are others who would be very interested in demonstrating the effectiveness of this new approach to dealing with rampant lawlessness however, who might get to call some different shots.
It’s not hard to find folks that one would reasonably suspect of being illegal aliens. Hundreds congregate in front of a number of convenience stores in the county, looking for day jobs that will pay them in cash, with no “gringo papers” required, and violate loitering and trespassing laws. In 2005, the Prince William County Police Department busted a group of day laborers loitering in front of a 7-11 on Route One, and two thirds of those they detained ended up getting turned over to ICE and were deported (this event was, by the way, the impetus for the sanctuary policy that was overturned this summer). For anyone with an interest in demonstrating pretty conclusively that illegal aliens better pack up their things and mosey on out of Prince William County, the attractiveness of the county’s day laborer sites as a demonstration project for enforcement of the Rule of Law Resolution is tremendous. The violation of a state or local law is there, past experience demonstrates this as a productive target, and we know precisely where these are. In addition, I know that at least one local 7-11 owner would be more than happy to cooperate with any law enforcement actions at his location, and is ready to lay on a double order of free pastries and coffee to reward officers for rescuing his business from what masses of day laborers have done to it.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the illegal alien community has figured this out, and tomorrow will be one of the first days in the past five years where it was safe to go to a convenience store. They’re already panicked from the rhetoric of Mexicans Without Borders and are convinced that county police are going to start pulling over vehicles if they observe someone driving who is Hispanic, which clearly isn’t going to happen. If these day laborer sites don’t disappear, day laborers will be just begging law enforcement to round them up for trespassing, check their status, and take any illegal aliens they identify and bus them over to ICE, which probably could benefit from the positive publicity this would generate. Just one high-profile enforcement action could send the illegal aliens who haven’t already left for more welcoming environments running fast.
I’d be interested in hearing from readers if they observe that conditions have changed at the various day laborer sites in the county. Just the prospect of our own local “D-Day” coming to pass might trigger some remarkable changes, and the first place these should appear is at day laborer sites across the county, where the illegal alien issue is right out in plain view.

The figures Corey Stewart cites come from the Prince William County Adult Detention Center. If you think what Corey Stewart is saying is inaccurate, I suggest you email the ADC and get the information directly from them. They are happy to provide statistics about the success of the Section 287(g) Program, and should respond within a few days if you request statistics on the number of illegal aliens that have been deported.

Thank God. This is the first time I’ve ever been proud of my local government. On the downside, let the BS lawsuits begin. Arizona is making it look easy.
This is our fruits of labor, and it goes to show Prince William County residents, and the USA, especially our representatives, that the people (the majority) of LEGAL CITIZENS were tired of the way Illegal Aliens were taking over our County.

Well the resolution has had an affect on my condo complex.
- We no longer have 4 families living in one three bedroom condo suckiing up all the common water and trash services.
- We no longer have 10 to 12 single men making use of another three bedroom condo and leaving their beer bottles and fast food wrappers in our parking lot.
- My neighbors can find a parking spot in the parking lot without having to wait for the tow truck driver to make his rounds at night and tow all those without the proper parking pass.
- My female neighbors can now walk their dogs without getting verbally harassed.
- At our last HOA meeting a week ago there were no noise complaints, no trash complaints, no overcrowding complaints.
Thank you PWC BOCS for passing this rule of law and funding it

We had two more “self-deportations’ over the weekend. We also had a new neighbor move in too. I would’ve loved for the illegals to have seen 6 Americans working all day on the work that American supposedly don’t want to do. Yeah right.
I’m still very confused why cameras in the police cars should be tacked on to the immigration resolution funding. I was dumbfounded when I heard that the PWPD did NOT have a single camera in any of their cars. The technology has been available for 25 years, yet Charlie is just now asking for cameras, and to top it all off that it he wants the total expense in the immigration funding. This is BS. Why have are officers been without cameras all of the year? There is grant money available, Charlie could apply for if he were so inclinded. I’ve still not heard that possibilty mentioned. Cameras provide a certain “safety net” of sorts for the officers. They could catch the plate of a car that leaves the scene or in the hit and run, etc. The cameras benefit the entire community for numerous reasons, not just the immigration issue either.
Why has Charlie failed to protect his officers and the citizens of PWC all of these years. NOT even bothering to ask for cameras until now. UFB(IMHO)
Just saw NBC4’s coverage of the “controversial” crackdown. They failed to mention that they are creating the “controversy” part. My favorite part of the report….”illegal immigrants are being advised to obey the law”. They have to be told this specifically, mind you. Oh, wait….too late on that bit of advice!

Channel 5, did a piece on it too. It showed one guy said he feared the police stopping him and saying “The might stop me and say hay are you legal to be in the county or the United States?”.
They also pointed out the cost had doubled and the cameras that should’ve been in cars years ago.

No, the problem has not been solved, but it is on the road to that. Like any criminal activity, the police and elected officials passed laws in response to public outcry in response to the criminal activity. Criminal activity will never go away, either from illegals or others, but sending the message that it will not be openly accepted or tolerated is a good first step to get it under control.

My son noticed a large pile of mattresses (approx 10) down around Colgan’s old house (I suspect it is the bording house next to Frapp’s) piled up in the driveway. Not known if they were moving in or out but lot of activity at that house Sunday morning (about 6 males milling around in the driveway.)
I figured it out….most of the liberals on here are probably from Arlington….they keep talking nonsense because they do not want the “flood” of illegal aliens to come pouring on into their nice little town. Sure they have some already, but not the flood that could pour in and overwhelm the infrastructure.

I have another solution….maybe some of the retired folks can start shooting video (from a public location if this is legal) to identify businesses who are picking up the day laborers. A list can be posted on this blog to track them.
We can only hope that this effort is as successful as the efforts to rid the county of drugs and prostitution. If all goes right, this will be a multi billion dollar industry in the future. In a sense we can only hope the problem gets worse, so that the funding, outrage, and moral grandstanding will get higher.

Over the last week, I’ve seen where these illegals are just leaving this area for Sterling, Arlington and Fairfax…both in the County and City. NOW, I’m hoping the Connelly and Saslaw clowns both get the problem we had. So Fairfax, prepare yourselves for what is about to happen. Finally the following should be done:
1. Heavy fines for businesses in PWC and Manassas which continue to hire illegals by allowing them to use fake documents. I could name a few but instead of doing so, I’ve written to the IRS and ICE notifying them.
2. ICE should raid all day labor sites ASAP!
3. ICE should raid the businesses that are reported for hiring Illegals!
4. Our school systems need to closely looked at. India, China, etc. are now moving ahead of us because the school system has been dumbed down all because Pedro, Julio and Pablo can’t speak English. Because of this, our kids have had to pay the cost.
5. Do away with the Anchor Baby rule ASAP!

We should actually base the procedures used to combat illegal immigration with the laws Congress made to combat crack. That way funding will definitely go up. No knock raids on houses that contain illegals should become commonplace. More military surplus for the police force I say. And commercials….we need lots of commercials. Everything the government did to get rid of crack should be used to get rid of illegal immigrants. That way the problem will be solved just as fast as the crack problem, 2 years or so.

The ad links black unemployment with the rise in illegal immigration. Department of Labor unemployment rates from January show that black unemployment is highest at 9.2 percent, compared to whites and Hispanics.
A great big thank you to all who made this possible–I can’t tell you how happy I am that my property taxes will going up to pay for all this. Thanks for blowing what should be a problem to be tackled by the Feds into a great big issue and then reaming in on property taxes that are going to be wasted. By the way, does anyone else find the cost for the cameras amusing? $3.1M for 250 cars. That’s $12,400 per car. Nice job of getting ripped off! But I suppose now that there will be fractionally fewer brown people running around, it’s all somehow worth it, right?

1. Crime caused by illegal aliens.
2. Benefits given to illegal aliens and their families (which will actually help our budget).
3. ER being used as a medical clinic by illegal aliens (which will increase our quality of life and help our budget).
4. Schools being dumbed down and overcrowded.
5. Bunk houses (which are RIDICULOUS).
So as far as I see it, my tax money is being put to great use!
I’ve donated to Help Save Manassas and am doing footwork. There are more and more blacks jumping onboard as evident by Help Save Maryland in which a Black Women is leading this fight.

Doesn’t matter if the assessment is down if the rates are just jacked to the ceiling to compensate for the drop. 4k a year in taxes on a house that has lost 150k in equity and is worth maybe 220k now is an utter outrage, especially considering I probably owe more on it now than I could sell it for. I had my folks in town this weekend and we drove through the neighborhoods to get to 234 to go out to dinner and they were just in awe at the number of for sale and foreclosure signs/stickers that they saw. They had no idea it was this bad. They live in Gettysburg and are retired now so this area is quite the culture and economic shock for them.
Someone should ask Jellyfish Jones and the Flounders why they want to build a new city hall.
Folks: I drove past two 7-11’s (one of RTE 1. across from Marumsco Plaza) and (one on RTE 1 and Longview) a bit ago. The one at Marumsco had no illegals hanging around on that property, but they were still at the Mexican Restaurant next door hanging around. I was however happy to report that the 7-11 at Longview looks to have put up a fence where the illegals generally hang out (it looks much better) and there were ZERO illegals there. I did notice that Marumsco Plaza itself had quite a few illegals hanging around there, but I’m thinking “baby steps.” I also saw quite a few PWC cops patrollling those specific areas……
As I’ve said before, folks, this fight is going to be a long one. Today is a minor victory that can be erased if we become as complacent as we have been over the last 20 years.
Next on my list are the weasals in the state senate who killed all the anti-illegal legislation there. I’ll be at their rallies, fundraisers, and campaign kickoffs with signs to the effect, “(Stolle, Deeds, Norment, etc.) allows Illegal Aliens to Steal Your Tax Money.”

Rob: The assessment came back at 307k…what a fng joke man. I couldn’t give it away for 207k, yet alone 307k! The assessment dropped 37k from the previous year when the home values here have dropped 150k. Looks like I will be refuting the bill all the way to the supreme court if necessary. No way I’m paying this kind of tax to live in a sanctuary city with a corrupt mayor and city council. The hits keep coming in this town folks.

My black wife lives with me in PWC and decries the illegal immigration all around us.
I moved to PWC in 2000 and noticed right away that the area I live in was well integrated between white, black, and other (asian and hispanic) in roughly thirds. The level of tolerance and goodwill is probably why some realtors and other forces targeted us for takeover 2-3 years ago.

Before you mischaracterize what I said any further, I would direct you to the writings of Abraham Lincoln, who said precisely what I said back in 1865 during his second inaugural address. I would imagine that if Lincoln’s remarks about God’s Will and the reprehensible practice of slavery are something you would agree with, my comments that reflect the same viewpoint Lincoln held should be equally acceptable.

Greg L. has been key in getting Charlie Deane to do a 180 degree directional move on his immigration general order. As i’ve stateed many times in the past……….”policing through perception.” Charlie Deane will only change policy if newspaper headlines pressure him to do so.
This is clearly a victory for supporters of Help Save Manassas. But the pressure must continue. Charlie Deane’s officers clearly understand their future in the police department will be short lived if they actively enforce any local immigration policies. Deane has a clear history of chasing officers out of his dept. for enforcing laws he personally feels could produce a “bully” media image of his dept.
I learned from a close source of Charlie Deane that he plans to retire in a 3 yr. time frame unless he has further problems with local immigration enforcement. If citizens continue to pressure the department for increased enforcement he will resign and retire.
If you want change in Prince William County, I suggest you continue to push Deane into retirement. He currently has more power advancing immigration enforcement than any local elected official.

We as a nation can survive fools in our White House. But what they refuse to acknowledge or recognize is no single Nation or people is rich enough to lift the 100,s of millions of poor out of poverty. In others words American & American taxpayers cannot bear the cost of becoming the welfare state for Mexico and Latin American. To attempt to do so will only reduce all Americans to poverty equaling what the uneducated invaders are fleeing from in their home countries. The poor and criminals pouring across our Borders have an average of an six grade education. Each person with less than a high education is a net cost of 20k per year for American taxpayers. So the displaced compassion, flawed logic, or just pandering for votes, endorsed by , Obama, McCain, and Hillary . is deeply flawed. Failure to close our border or to give Amnesty to the 12 to 30 millions of Illegal Aliens in this country will in the long run, with the Chain Immigration result in adding 100 to 160 millions poor citizens to our welfare rolls. Their high school drop out rates exceed 50 percent with a high crime rate and a very high illegitimate birth rate, this is very combination that keeps Mexico & Latin American a cesspool of crime, corruption, poverty & misery!
Maybe the results is what the multinational companies and the rich dream of, a Nation full of poor labors like China, India, Mexico, but I do not believe it is the future most Americans aspire to for their children and grand children!
In all, my country, a potential benefactor and beacon for all the world - is headed right off a cliff and to an third world status!
In my view - - this has all come to pass because the Politicians, the elected and sworn stewards of this country, both Republicans & Democrats have allowed it to happen. Surely they should have known better when they build bridges to nowhere, when they wasted 100,s of billion in pork and sold their votes to the highest bidder.…when they refused to abide by the Constitution against invasion or enforce the very laws they passed, they have disgraced and dishonored their oath of office and brought shame upon our Nation. If the Politicians with the Citizens support, decide they must do more for the worlds poor then they must find a way like an Marshall plan for Latin American. Well I went past the 7-11 on Coverstone around 7:45 am this morning and there were 17 day workers spread out between the vacant building and the 7-11 property boundry and one hiding on the side of 7-11. I called the PWCPD and reported the loiterers and the guy hiding on the side and they said they would get to it.
I saw some Mexican guys eating burritos outside the Taco Bell. I immediately called the police because I thought it VERY suspicious that Mexicans would be eating fake Mexican food. Chief Deane said that, since it was about lunch time anyway, he would go and check it out personally. I never heard back from him.
I’m actually not sure they were Mexicans. It might actually have been Ducky and El Guapo, now that I think about it. Or, maybe it was a demonstration by that new pro immigration group, Mexicans Without Taste Buds.
Good Time Charlie, I totally agree with you. Deane has got to go. And whoever his replacement is should come from a nationwide search for the best and the brightest. PWC is the second largest county in Virginia and one of the top twenty wealthiest in the U.S. There is no reason why we should not have a top of the line chief whose main goal is to shape this department into a world class organization. Under Deane, we have officers sleeping in patrol cars at intersections while vehicles fly through stop signs.
It is time that Fairfax County follows Prince William in cracking down on illegal immigrants, especially in Centreville where the problem has become an epidemic. If Gerry Connolly wins the Democratic primary, we might have this problem addressed. Otherwise, it will be a cold day in ____ before this happens! Congratulations Prince William County on finally addressing this problem, and hopefully counties around the U.S. and VA will follow this fine example.
Riley, where did you observe officers sleeping in patrol cars? Did you call and complain? Its one thing to disagree with the chief’s policies but to insult all the officers is quite another thing. If you observed something like that, then give specifics and call someone about it. But to insult 537 dedicated men and women because you claim to observe some actions of one or two officers is wrong.

Why don’t you share why you “left” the department? You didn’t retire…so under what circumstances did you leave? I think in the interest of fair disclosure you should share the facts of your departure. Its one thing to be critical of a public official - that’s fair game - but its quite another to spew venom in a personal attack and hide behind the blog. The true circumstances of your law enforcement career - short as it was, maybe a clue as to why you dislike him so on a personal basis. Vehicles flying past stop signs under the direct observation of PWC police officers, without any enforcement effort being made.
The answer is simple:
Nobody who has worked for Charlie Deane has ever gotten promoted, or had job security while aggressively enforcing observed violations as a street officer.
Don’t blame the street officers……….they have families to feed.

I wouldn’t call my service years a short career. I left police work vested in the Virginia Retirement System. I was a supervisor promoted by Charlie Deane. My identity will remain a mystery to protect the careers of members still in the department. Charlie Deane will make short work of their employment if he learns he currently has members of the department who maintain a friendship with someone so publically vocal against him.
My “attacks” are based on observations made while on the inside of the department and are strictly related to the performance of an important public official. I have not forwarded anything on this website that I don’t have a story to back it up.
As Charlie Deane said while attempting to force Sheriff Stoffregen to stop enforcing radar, and providing security in county parks…………..”it’s not only personal, it’s about protecting our turf.”
The information I still obtain from current police employees, and provide on these threads will terminate if my identity is learned…………so nice try, but I still prefer to remain nameless to have continued input, and protect others.
Just heard on the radio this morning that Montgomery County (Sanctuary City according to the report) is now worried that they will get flooded with illegal aliens leaving PWC due to the crack-down. Hmmm…..now isn’t that a laugh? It is always amusing to me how people talk a lot about how other people should be receptive of illegal aliens when it does not impact them. Now that the tide is turning, they are worried? Worried about what? Overcrowding? Increased crime? Bunk houses? Decreased property values? Increased trash? Overburdened schools and ERs? You got what you asked for Montgomery County. This goes for all sanctuary cities too!
Oh…the one bunk house in my neighborhood on crack-down day plus 1 (CD+1) had only one car in the driveway this morning. Usually there are around 5-6 cars (trucks/vans). I am going to keep my eyes on this one.

You can GO THERE but it won’t work. Bringing up slavery LOL in attempts to make the “Angry Black Man” rise up. Real quick, Slavery was very, very unfortunate and my people suffered but what they sacrificed for and how they lived, I do not take in vain. Manassas and this area have had good race relations going back to the 60’s and while discrimination/segregation once reared it’s ugly head, times have changed somewhat (still we have to keep going forward) and most who are here LEGALLY are getting the equal opportunity to experience what America is all about. You can’t sneak in illegal, break laws, drain the public service system, overrun the emergency room while not paying taxes and dumbing down the schools system. ILLEGAL ALIENS MUST GO HOME!

Great write-up angry blackman! For some reason, people that don’t live in our area seem to think that none of us have ever lived in a community that has different races living together. I have always lived in areas that have had different races living together. What kind of planet do they (the liberals) live on?Maybe they should get off their big behinds and take a look for themselves. My neighborhood has all sorts of people…and we all get along just fine. The only two “issues” are the two bunk houses. Hopefully, those will go away so that we can regain our neighborhood stability. We don’t like strange people coming and going at all times of the day like the Wild West.

How do you know he didn’t retire? Maybe he left because he was smarter than the COP and saw the no win situation of work for such an egomaniac. Get your head out of CD’s a** and realize it isn’t about the rank and file doing their job. It’s about the guy at the top being a control freek, overstaying his usefullness, and not caring about what is in the best interest of the citizens.
One of the things I love about this area is the cultural diversity. But breaking our laws is completely unacceptable. Those who support illegal immigration always try to make it a race/culture issue…which is a cop-out, really. They can’t seem to understand that “breaking the law” is what upsets us. I understand that those coming illegally come in search of work, but there are legal ways to go about it. I would know, my company hires people from other countries to work for us during the summer…but everything is done legally. They get visas and taxpayer IDs, they work, they leave when their visa is up. I appreciate and feel enriched by the cultures they have exposed me to, and I also appreciate that they abide by our immigration laws. I’m glad that PWC has taken a stand against the lawbreakers.
Here is an old saying my dad taught me. Do the crime, you do the time; it’s your choice. That is what law enforcement is all about. Those who are in this country illegally know who you are and you also know what the penalty is. Whining about it will not help.

Barack Obama hit the front page of the Mexican papers again this morning, this time in an exclusive interview (snagged after his speech at the Austin Convention Center) with the Mexico City daily Reforma, in which he made comments sure to please Mexicans. In some of his strongest language so far on the immigration issue, Obama told Reforma that raids and deportations aren’t the answer.
“The raids haven’t worked,” Obama said. “It’s clear the contribution these Mexican workers make for our economy and one of my priorities on this issue is to keep the families of immigrants united and not separate them with deportations.”
Mexico by and large couldn’t be happier with the three remaining presidential candidates, widely perceived here to be the most immigrant-friendly of the original slate of candidates.

Hey Enough is Enough and Good Time Charlie, you can get vested in the Virginia Retirement system after five years and you’re in with minimal benefits. So leaving with a stake in the system isn’t difficult to do. I know who “Good Time Charlie” is because I know him..plus his post on Riley’s blog is the same and he used his real name…Dwayne Moyers. Go look.
I just think the full story needs to be shared. He claims to have inside knowledge, well, can’t imagine who would associate with him, he was considered a loose cannon when he worked in PWCPD. I’ll tell ya this, he didn’t leave on his own choice, lets put it that way, but I’ll leave the details up to him to share.
Once I read his comments (good time charlie) in attempt to Make Lee Stoffgren look good, I just passed over without reading further. Everyone knows what Stoffgren was about and this is why he was voted out!

Angry Black…………I am not a Stoffregen supporter either. I do like our current sheriff but Deane supplied him with his staff after winning the election. So I would say that Deane’s control is possibly spread into the Sheriff’s Office as well.
Saveamerica………Let me see if I have this right. He was not fired? But according to you he was forced to leave against his wishes? I do know several officers found other jobs, and left the dept. to work with other law enforcement agencies after the manner he was treated over a private matter. My knowledge over the incident lead me to believe the COP targeted him over something that was none of his business. He worked with another agency after leaving PWCPD, before entering a private sector. My next thought would be you are confusing “loose cannon” with that of an officer with an aggressive style of police work who produced results.
Thank you………..you just described the problem with our current COP I have been describing on this blog. Charlie Deane confusing good street cops with recklessness, and forcing them out of the dept. These stories are funneling down to new hires and assisting them in making decisions to leave for other LEO jobs.
The problem once again with the PWCPD is at the top. My second guess is you are one of Charlie Deane’s bobble heads inside the puzzle palace. So while you’re throwing names around, once again, why don’t you reveal your identity. If you refuse, maybe it is you that should leave the blog since it appears you are a current public servant. Your current comments in this blog are a direct violation of your own general orders.

Not sure why you include me with your response to Good TIme Charlie. I don’t know who Moyers is. I do know officers currently on your dept. and I know fact from fiction. He appears to be factual. What’s your beef?
You seem to be getting off topic. If he isn’t with PWCPD why blog about him, he isn’t tasked with implementing the crackdown. It appears to me that maybe whoever he is he’s a thorn in the side of Deane and his high ranking officers. Why else would you try to redirect the attacks at someone not even inside the dept.
Back on topic…in the world I work in when your boss or supervisor tell you to implement a policy that’s what you do. It’s call performace. Deane needs to do what the BOS implemented. If he can’t perform according to his requirements he should face what the rest of us would face, dismissal.
Stick with the topic, stop trying to discredit someone who appears to have real facts. If you have something FACTUAL to share with us about Deane or the PWCPD please share, otherwise just keep to your self.
Nice try Good Time Charlie, but I have earned my retirement the right way…full credit for a full career, unlike others we have discussed. So, no violation. However, if you read the General Orders, such discussion is not prohibited and if you read my posts, you will see that I have not claimed to work there now. I suppose you think you could do better in a supervisory position, but that was proven wrong.

Having credit for a full career means you must have worked for many years in the police department. How about helping us see the other side of this story. Help us understand what it is that the police dept top man has done to help this country and how he is behind this crackdown 100%. Maybe then some of these doubter will be put to rest by someone that knows.
