Retro Takes On A New Meaning

First, the Students For A Democratic Society, which spawned the Weather Underground terrorists in the 1960’s shows up in a protest with Mexicans Without Borders in Richmond. Now Yankee Philip reports that the hard-left is apparently attempting to re-create the protests that marred the 1968 National Democratic Convention in Chicago at this year’s Democratic Party Convention. About the only thing now missing in this terribly misplaced nostalgia for radical political movements is the Symbionese Liberation Army and Charles Manson. Those too young to remember the tragedy this inflicted on our nation have been romanticized by those who at best rely on our faded recollections of the past, and we are now at the beginning of a grand effort to prove that those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat it.
The rise of radicalism that characterized the sixties wasn’t just The Beatles, free love, and folks running around in a farmer’s field listening to Jimmi Hendrix work magic on his guitar. It involved unprecedented masses of naive young people indoctrinated with communist and anarchist propaganda which dedicated them to tearing the fabric of this nation apart and replacing it with socialism. Our first homegrown terrorists were not lonely outcasts working largely on their own — they were organized and widespread cells of highly politicized radicals who murdered innocent civilians with bombs, robbed banks to finance military operations, and did so in order to foster a political revolution.
If these people had their hands on the reins of political power at the time, that revolution might have actually succeeded. Fortunately these were the political outsiders trying to break in, and they found that the door barred against them. Their effort to go to war with the Democratic Party in 1968 ensured that door would remain barred, and they eventually fizzled out into a long trail of cultural detritus that transformed fashionable pot smoking into addicted crack whores, “Nowhere Man” into “Afternoon Delight”, tie-dyed T-shirts to mullets, and the successful defense of South Korea into the evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in Saigon. The malaise and dysfunction grew, our economy stagnated, and we watched our national soul fade away, until Ronald Reagan rode in on his figurative horse and like an old-West Sheriff cleaned up the mess and taught those of us who had forgotten what and who we really were, and what we were capable of.
But now that same 1960’s radical leadership isn’t the ones banging on the door trying to get in, they’re the ones who all too often are on the inside. The street radicals aren’t frustrated that the establishment isn’t giving them access, they’re having photo-ops with their establishment counterparts. They run the universities instead of being the ones trying to keep order, they hold elected office and work to impose gay marriage, punitive taxes, and amnesty for illegal aliens on an electorate that clearly doesn’t want it in the name of the despicable lie called “social justice”, instead of being the perennial electoral losers on the fringe. Their “Social justice” is nothing more than the dictatorship of the proletariat, clothed in newer, more appealing camouflage that intends to bestow upon some favored class the wealth of the productive, and provide them with superior legal protections of which you cannot qualify. Some “justice”.
The flower children have grown up, and those that weren’t disabused of their ridiculously impractical and counterproductive fantasies are now indoctrinating a new generation of the ignorant to take their place. Instead of throwing rocks at police, they now burn down buildings in the name of environmental activism, and destroy business property in the name of anti-capitalism. But mostly they draw on the obvious lessons of political activism of the past several decades, and instead of usually making themselves a disturbing public nuisance and public safety hazard, they more often use traditional means of political action, trying to convince the electorate that the perverse is normal, that lawbreaking should be rewarded with amnesty, and that every social problem can be entirely solved with a sufficient application by government of your personal wealth.
When the offices of Barack Obama supporters are festooned with Cuban Flags complete with images of Che Guevara, we are hurtling down a path towards inviting Che’s modern-day equivalent to execute political prisoners deemed a threat to the revolution in the name of “social justice”. Potential counter-revolutionaries never survive the imposition of communism. Ever. When both Democratic front-runners have ties to former terrorists of the Weather Underground, we are edging ever closer to the day when businesses will become the property of the state, in the name of “social justice”. We can provide health insurance to millions of children using the wealth of the oil industry, without a doubt. We can grant “earned citizenship” to millions of foreign nationals who flaunted not only federal immigration laws, but laws regarding identity theft, tax evasion, and driving without a license as well, and encourage them to maintain separate cultural identities, because diversity is somehow a strength, in the name of “social justice”. Tito maintained his dictatorship for decades in Yugoslavia by pitting the interests of ethnic minorities against each other, which worked great right up until he fell, and a once wonderful piece of the planet descended into the very depths of hell under the crushing weight of decades of deferred ethnic score-settling. Millions were slaughtered.
Modern liberalism, which is little more than socialism with a new label, has a clear historical record. Everywhere it has been attempted has eventually descended into poverty, chaos and too often, tragic bloodshed. The empty promises it offers do nothing but make possible the rise of tyrants adept at leveraging hope to create despair. Yet there are those who never bothered to learn the unavoidable consequences of this destructive ideology and who are determined to pass on their incompetence to the ignorant.
From the ashes of 1960’s radicalism rises the vulture of the new radicalism that again feeds on the lifeless intellects of the young. If we don’t strip away the thin romantic veneer of this idiocy quickly, we’re going to see the 1960’s happen all over again, only with the added elements of islamic radicalism, massive illegal immigration, and a terribly more threatening drug trade to replace quirky fashion statements, disdain for personal hygiene and some good guitar riffs to take the edge off. This is history we don’t need to revisit.

Leftist Terrorists attack Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Washington DC and Police do nothing!!!
On February 15th 2008, the leftist terrorist group called The Student Democrat Society(SDS) took it upon themselves to attack the Armed Forces Recruiting Station at 13th and L Streets N.W. at 18:00(6 p.m.).
The violent leftists terrorists entered the recruiting station and proceed to trash the place of their own free accord as DC Police simply stoodby and did nothing about it. The terrorists took joy in reporting and recording their terrorist actions(http://dc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/142455/index.php).
This is the second time that DC Police have stoodby as the terrorists who call themselves the SDS have runamuck in the city, this past summer they tore thru the Georgetown Area of the city hurling bricks at innocent bystanders as the police seemed powerless to stop them.
The SDS has a history of violent actions against men and women in uniform and those citizens who speak out against them and are only enbittered because the surge has worked and victory for American is close at hand. SDS and their allies are nothing more than homegrown terrorists and failed socialists who are the bottom of society!
They may also be responsible for the bombing of the Military Recruiting station in Times Square (my prediction).

Extremely well said Greg. I wish people would study the rise and fall of socialist states and socialist movements and learn why they are so destructive to a modern, stable nation. Nations in history created borders as a result of cultural. ethnic group wars, and peace did not occur (throughout history) until the borders were created and cultures isolated that seperated national identities, ideologies and languages, or blended them into a single culture, language and border of unified nationalism. Market forces motivated by individual rights and individual initiative and reward, always create a superior wealth and “intellectual renaissance” over socialism. Our “1960s/70s social engineers” are experimenting without knowing the danger of thier experiment or ever learning from or studying the outcome of previous bad experiments, that went from bad to worse for every nation that tried “socialistic and social equity engineering concepts” and “social multi-cultural, multi-language, ethnic diversity” political frameworks. The nations that prospered in history, absorbed cultures into a common culture and nationalistic BORDER. WARS were fought until those cultural diversity borders seperated were established, to ensure cultural and legal homgeneity. A basic human nature, is the need to be comfortable and of a united culture, and not to be in conflict with a non-united multi-cultural state, at war typically until a “border” creates social and financial stability.
Though the concept of “equal” for “all” is superficially sound, in execution it simply stagnates wealth, growth, political stability, and increases corruption, ethnic hatred and social inequities, as no-one give rights or protects rights of individuals, simply advocates alignment and politics of the social “group” over the welfare of all others.
