Yes, you can’t be a relatively significant blog in Virginia, and not get a constant stream of hate mail and otherwise outrageously inappropriate comments. Here’s a sample, which I’ve cleaned up a bit, so readers can get an idea of the effort involved in managing a site that doesn’t require user registration before allowing comments. Redactions are in braces, and IP addresses and other meta-data has been removed.

Hoot This behaviour seems at odds with the teachings of Jesus that Greg proposes to uphold. Greg’s actions kind of remind me of that scene in Mel Gibson’s movie, Passion of the Christ, where Jesus is first brought, chained and bruised, before the Jewish Clergy and when some of the Clergy attempt to voice dissenting opinions in order to protect him, they are forcibly removed much like Greg forcibly removes dissenting voices of his community…

Anon Greg’s not real confident about keeping posts that are critical of him, particularly now that he’s taken on the David Koresh mantel in his religious pulpit YouTube video. I, too, am interested in knowing, though, where his proof is for this supposed relationship between Pandak and Ebert, why he closed the comments on his religious YouTube video, and what church he goes to that would sanction the kind of things he says on his blog. I’d like to join the latter because it seems to take an even more liberal view of Christianity than the Unitarians.

Your original version was MUCH more enlightening, Greg.
Yesterday I was in Manassas and was disgusted by the number of seedy looking foreigners that couldn’t even look me in the eye when the opportunity presented itself.
It reminded me that they came from a different culture and don’t live by the same values & principles that we live by here in this nation. They violated our laws to get here, or after they arrived by remaining beyond their legal limits. They sponge off our hospital emergency rooms, only to walk away and never pay a dime, leaving us to carry the burden of their existence here in this country. Many will do whatever they need to do to survive, as demonstrated by their illegal entry in to our country.
People like Greg and HSM have become this countries first line of defense by promoting awareness, legislation and well…intolerance. It is that intolerance that may have thwarted a civil war..for now. As the economy worsens and the jobs for illegals are fewer, what will they do and where will they go?
Once again they will do what ever they need to do to survive, regardless of laws, or what they have earned or (not) paid for. Until the borders are sealed, and laws are enforced, there is a very real threat that lives among us and threatens not only our lifestyle but our safety, our quality of life, and they will do or say anything against anyone who opposes them.
The PWC School Board has 600 fewer ESOL students this year at a cost savings of six million dollars, that paid to fund the Rule of Law Resolution. Bravo!

He gave you a straight answer which you already knew the answer to anyway. Any average person with average social interaction skills can ‘usually’ tell when someone is illegal. They won’t look you in the eye and generally look shifty. I have seen it again and again from the boarders that the next door neighbor rents to. The ones that will look you in the eye and don’t look shifty are legal or are the worst types of illegals that don’t care, have no shame and most likely are troublemakers, but then you knew that already since it is quite obvious.

That begs a response. Yes, you can! There are many “significant” blogs in the VA Political Blogosphere that do not generate “hate mail” and otherwise “outrageously inappropriate comments” from their readers. Bacon’s Rebellion comes to mind. There are many others.
The fact is, Greg, that you reap what you sow.
Your willingness to post unsubstantiated rumors, use personal invective, and abase anyone who doesn’t agree with you invites the kind of response that you get from readers.
Blogger, heal thyself.
You might find that by elevating the tone and content of your own posts, you would mitigate the willingness of others to stoop to the kind of behavior you decry (whether it comes from your supporters or your detractors, both of whom exhibit a willingness to sling hate when it suits in the comments on your blog).
If you worked to elevate the level of discourse you encourage, you might also invite more people like me to return to participate in the dialogue, something that I have foresworn as a useless exercise in your fulminating corner of the blogosphere.
And Claire Gastanaga, maybe Bacon’s Rebellion doesn’t let the hateful comments through, so you wouldn’t know they are being posted.

Let us all stick to the facts shall we? What we know (for a fact)…not in just our county but around our entire COUNTRY:
1. Illegal aliens today are PREDOMINANTLY from (Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and other points south of the border)…this is published by DHS.
2. Illegal aliens steal identitites, benefits (using their anchor babies), forge documents, etc.
3. Illegal aliens add additional crime to the areas that they reside in (above and beyond the items in #2 above).
4. Illegal aliens decrease the quality life in the neighborhoods that they occupy (Wild West “bunk houses”, “cat houses”, trash, too many vehicles, etc., shutting down ERs, overcrowding schools, etc.).
5. Illegal aliens “know” what they are doing. This is the worst crime of all. They are coached by supporting groups such as NCLR, MWB, Casa De MD, etc. So for illegal aliens to say “I don’t know” is just pure BS! We all know that and so do they.
6. Illegal aliens and their legal “aiding and abetting” supporters (who are committing a FELONY) use the race card/xenophobia card because they KNOW what they are doing is WRONG but they do not want to get caught. Therefore, they try to use PC against those that call them out of the “shadows”!
So there you have it. Legal residents who are against illegal aliens and their legal “aiding and abetting” supporters are doing the right thing…exposing the truth to eliminate the criminal behavior once and for all. Yes, the truth hurts! Get over it!

I don’t agree with what you have to say most of the time, but I do get some valuable information from your site.
I wouldn’t speak to you as many have on your blog because to reach a solution both sides have to voice their opinions rationally. You may want to take a look within your own house.
Even though your members do not use inappropriate language, their accusations and judgments are just as harmful.
Bacon’s Rebellion DOES moderate, and they make it quite clear that they do. In fact, they have very specific rules for comments there…and zero tolerance for commenters that break them.

How do you figure that, Herve? Where’s the link? I expect that a great many links can be provided to evidence that Hispanics are at the top of that pile, to the extent that people (particularly children) with Hispanic sounding (either first or last) names are most at risk. I’ve seen those links here (Patriot, Medic, Patty, etc.). Perhaps some of those folks would be willing to try to find them again and repeat them (that’s a hint, folks…rub his nose in it).

They are only LEGAL if they actually apply for TPS. Some of them fail to do so.
Herve, you’re either new to this country or you’ve been living in a bubble. Those fraud schemes have been around a long time and are not specifically focused on identity theft…they are organized fraud schemes. Of course, some of them may, after they clean out those gullible enough to fall for them, sell those SSN’s to illegal aliens…but it would just be a sideline with the leftovers to make a few extra bucks. As usual, you REALLY have to reach to make your point.
Illegals are making up social security numbers when needed, I don’t think they’re hacking into our computers to steal our social security numbers from our Turbo Tax software program, or sending us phishing scams that trick us in to disclosing our legal identity.
Much of that activity is coming from China, North Korea, Russia and other countries around the world including Nigeria.

You know…people forget that We the People OWN this country (not foreigners). Therefore, we have EVERY right to determine who and how we go about allowing people into our “house”. Would you allow just “anyone” to come to your house and start demanding things or changing the ways you do things in your house? What if someone came to your house and demanded that you start putting up signs in a different language, demanding that you adhere to their cultural standards over your existing ones, etc. (so that they can feel comfortable in your house just in case they decided to drop by)? Get real people! Foreigners these days seem to have a big sense of entitlement and it must stop! We have a legal process that people must follow for a reason. People that come here should be able to demonstrate that they will not be reliant on public assistance to live. Additionally, they should demonstrate a willingness to shed allegiance to their former countries of origin and be loyal only to the United States. Furthermore, they should be screened for medical issues. Yes, this is a lengthy process (FOR A REASON).

I am a realist. And our government has failed us over the past few years in that they have not tried to control the influx of illegal immigrants. But it is WE that have fostered the influx. We want to pay cheaper prices for everything. The US is the force behind globilization and cheap labor exploitation - what has happened now, is that the US has allowed the cheap labor into our borders. All was fine when the problem (cheap labor) stayed in their own countries and we just shipped product around the world.
This is not a republican or democrat problem - each pary has their own agenda - which they both twist in a desire to get votes.
This is not a conservitive or liberal problem - although each has their own view of how to ’solve the problem’.
Here is what is going to happen - Amnesty - although, I personally do not like that as a solution - it is just giving in (which is what our federal gov’t does best).
And, unless you are an American Indian, there is a good chance your ancestors came here illegally, or at least, not wanted.
Just because someone speaks spanish, it does not make them illegal - did you know that Puerto Ricans are US Citizens - and nice people too.
What we need to do in our quest of removing illegal immigrants, is to try and not instill hatred towards a certain class of people - sadly, something that has already happened to many of you on this blog.

You are correct. However, what we do KNOW for a FACT (from DHS)…is that the majority of illegal aliens are from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and other parts south of the border. Please Pat….tell me what language these people speak? I have not heard German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc. languages being spoken.

Why do you think groups like NCLR, MWB, Casa de Maryland, CHIRLA, etc. are adamantly opposed to any kind of illegal immigration crack-downs…I will tell you why….they are either illegal aliens and/or they are legal residents who are “aiding and abetting” illegal alien (family and friends). Period. The truth must be told! This reality is not just in our own county…it is across our nation in many counties.

With this, Mr. Herve, I can absolutely agree. There’s little difference between the Democratic and Republican leadership (except motive) when it comes to illegal aliens, which is why bi-partisan efforts such as the SAVE Act are so very important. It is also important for us to hold our representatives from both sides of the isle responsible for their actions, or inactions…no one should get a pass.
Do, however, strongly disagree with this: “Here is what is going to happen - Amnesty - although, I personally do not like that as a solution - it is just giving in (which is what our federal gov’t does best).” This will only happen if the average citizen and legal resident let up on the pressure we have been applying (they’re just waiting for us to give up) and give them that pass which will give them the “go ahead” to let that amnesty slip by us. It is incumbent upon all citizens and legal residents to demand THEIR rights which, by all international and Constitutional law, supersede those of these illegal aliens (”invaders” is actually a more appropriate term).
WE MUST NEVER let up the pressure. In fact, WE MUST INCREASE the pressure and keep it constant FOREVER.
