Rishell Lends Gerry Connolly Her Campaign Team

James Martin is reporting in Raising Kaine that the local firefighter’s union in Prince William County has endorsed Gerry Connolly for the 11th Congressional District. This same union group similarly endorsed Jeanette Rishell for the 50th District and Bruce Roemmelt for the 13th District in last year’s elections for the House of Delegates, both of whom were then decisively crushed by their Republican opponents. With Gerry Connolly rooting around for some thin semblance of popular support within Prince William County and not finding a whole lot to work with however, I guess you have to take what you can get.
Martin characterized this endorsement as “a huge boost”. When you go from having little but five frothing Unitarians to a whole ten volunteers in a Congressional campaign, “huge boosts” are a decidedly relative thing.

Maybe Rishell’s sympathies really lie with Leslie Byrne.
If Rishell’s campaign team has repeat success, Gerry Connolly is going down during the June primary.

You know what they say about ‘false prophets,’ or in your case, false profits perhaps?
You have to admit, she is a gutsy lady. I have to respect that, much more so than I do those hiding behind the play on words to deliver the barbs.
Actually Goat-herder, how about some honest to goodness intellectual debate between you and Ms. Gotthardt? Now there is a daunting thought. I wonder who would win?

I think Fimian’s failure to get to the PWC firefighters union first will hurt him. Like unions or not, some of us tend to froth a bit too much at the mention, and neglect to see that firefighter and police unions are rather key endorsements. Esp. firefighters. Connolly should be getting the endorsement of unions in Fairfax County without any fight at all. Failing to get to the ones in PWC first may hurt Fimian. But at this point, I believe it’s more of a slap to Byrne! So what am I missing b/c I’m sure not everyone agrees with me…?
It should be noted that Roemmelt and possibly Rishell are supporting Byrne.
