Lafayette,

Yes I do like the equestrian unit, but I am sure my reasons are far different from those of Advocator;)

I wish they would make a trip down Sudley Manor Drive.

Well I always have to cut and paste your handle. It is not easy for me to type it.

I do want to clear up something. I've always have a problem with agents of Federal governments getting involved in local government affairs. Remember they do not put their hand on the Bible and promise God that they will uphold, defend and protect the Consitution of the United States. They have interests soley for their country only. Would you expect any different? Also, remember that Channel 9 news reported that the Consulate sponsored that meeting. I think citizens should ask questions about that. Yes, I did call the State Department. The two people that I talked with were not sure whether or not that was appropriate. In fact they referred me to someone else. I still haven't received a call back yet.

I do think Chairman Stewart was right to ask questions. After all he was getting a diluge of phone calls. Was he to ignore them? I for one am glad he didn't. I was one of the many who called his office.

I do think in the future there needs to be more trasparancy and better communication. If the County Executive knew about the meeting couldn't he have notified the Board? Then when citizens see headlines in newspapers and call their supervisors, the supervisors can adequately answer questions that the citizen's have.

Even though I've seen comments on here saying it is not a big deal, it sure was a big deal for the local papers and Channel 9 news. By the way looks like the Examiner was the first one with the big scoop.

I hope to see you post more comments. I don't type very well myself. Some have picked on my typing skills (Krusty). Sometimes the fingers fly but don't hit the right keys.

Crone was out of time and wouldn’t crap or get off the pot. He deserved the escort, which in my opinion was done too civilly and gently. As a veteran he should have known that you either play by the rules or get stepped on

What rule does whom have to obey? The published rule that says Citizens have three minutes to speak or Stewarts change that limit citizens time to less then 3 minutes and to change it again and then to offer some people the right to speak for more then three minutes to speak which he can not do?

Stewart caused the problem in his lack of leardership and desire to get on TV.

I thought my posts have been a wait and see attitude on the chief's issue. I gave Colgan the benefit of the doubt, but I didn't jump on the bandwagon of excitement until I saw him get some teeth into his legislation, which he really didn't, IMHO.

As far as the Chief's meeting, I think information is power and if the Chief was able to meet with the people and the Consul was present to ask questions, then why was there such a fuss? I didn't jump onto the fire the PWCPD Chief band wagon either.

Patty,

I haven't been commenting lately because it seems this si the same circle every time. I get tired of typing out the same responses to different people all the time. I am a graduate of the hunt and peck typing school ® SO I am not that fast at typing things out. Besides I get busty with other things in my day as well.

/\/\3|)iç 64 (Winner of the BVBL 40k and 50k post award),

I was wondering why you chided me on giving Senator Colgan the benefit of a doubt and then you seem to indirectly chide me on asking why a foreign agent wants to involve himself with the education process that the Chief is carrying out. I do have a problem with agents for foreign governments involving themselves in local government actions. Does it hurt to ask questions?

By the way, I haven't seen you comment too much lately. I'm glad to see you back.

It sounds like the BOCS had every right to escort the old guy out...but on the other hand, was it the best way to handle it?

Sometimes we are judged by our humanity rather than by our ablilty to enforce the rules. Greatness is rarely determined by one's ability to enforce the rules.

Advocator,
Yes, he was over his time. However, look at that guy what harm was he going to do. I agree we all should play by the rules. I would've liked to have spoke for three minutes myself that day, but the rules were changed at the last minute. I did accept the rules and play by them as all but one did. Yes, he should've known better.

What would have had them done?
I think next time they should call in the "horsey women". ;)

"MP Resident -They ARE giving out passports here on American soil. Below are three examples for you."

I had read that this is because many of them want to leave and go home. Not sure why they need a passport for that but we can only hope it's true.

Mr. Wills,
I hated seeing Mr. Crone taken out of there that day. I found that to be one of the most DISGUSTING things I've ever witnessed. Mr. Crone can be fiesty, but to have him "escorted" out of there was pathetic. We can all be fiesty at times, true?
BTW- I certainly did and continue to care that he was a veteran, and a senior to boot.
**I have pictures of the incident, it pissed me off royally**

If Chief Deane is doing his job, the comfort ladies at the spa will also be picked up by ICE.

Well they were arrested and turned over to ICE per the article in the MJM. I guess equal enforcement of the law is not on Stewarts, Stirrpu or Greg's list to give thanks for.

Stewart is so insecure and incompentant that he does not want freedom of information because one of these days the public is just going to see him for what he is and that is not a leader. He can nto even handle citizens time with out having an old man forced out of the chamber by to big plain clolths police. The old man was an veteran but who cares.

I am having a hard time with this "authority to engage in foreign policy" bit.

I personally did not see this as a foreign policy issue, but an informational one. I do not agree that the Spanish was not translated for those without the benefit of knowing the language. That is wrong.

I do agree with the Chief going out in an outreach position to help dispel rumors about the resolution. Information is power. I see this as a positive since most of the information the attendees have received was from MWB and their ilk.

No, I have not mis-quoted the wrong section here. The power to “make treaties”, “appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls” carries with it an implication, that has been validated by the Supreme Court, that the President is the sole authority on matters of foreign policy. Since this is an enumerated power, the Tenth Amendment does not confer on the states or the people the authority to engage in foreign policy.

Unfortunately, not all constitutional law is readily apparent from the plain words of the Constitution.

You are so far off base on your analysis to defy any logic. What are you afraid of? A Chief of Police or any other government employee is not making foreign policy by talking with some one. I may not agree with they tone of your Blog but you did show this week that you have only one agenda and that is to get rid of Latinos. It is not about illegal immigrants but only one specific race. This past week in the MJM about a SPA was raided by the police and three asain women were arrested and put into jail and no bond allowed because of possibly being illegal imagrants. Not one line about this by you. You have lost any credibility. Maybe some crime is OK with you and others are not depending on who is doing it?
