I’ve gotten a report that turnout is heavy, and folks are having to park in the auxiliary parking lot. The press is there in force. Should be an interesting meeting!

Lisa Gonzales does the “you might be a racist if…” stand-up comedy routine, then complains that illegal aliens are being targeted saying that Corey Stewart is promoting racism. Then she goes on to say she contributed $500 to his campaign. Funny thing, she doesn’t show up as a contributor on VPAP. Hmmm.
Mrs. Barg made a complete fool of herself!! Brilliant move complaining about a policy that she voted for.
I certainly hope Frank Principi will take a ride up Route 1 sometime soon to see what a crap-hole he is representing instead of grinning while Hilda is blowing sunshine up his rear-end!

Doug Madison says that his business has been impacted, and folks are scared and frightened, and wants to set up an action committee. Claims his business is down 40%, but half of his customers have been Hispanic. Looks like the misinformation campaign done by the radicals in Woodbridge has worked.
Interesting idea to establish this committee…
This businessman is making money off of illegals and is complaining, “They’re scared.” They should be scared. Very scared. We’re gonna take this County, this Commonwealth, and this Country back, one way or another!

Skip Brown supports the joint meeting with the Mexican Consul, says Corey is arrogant and disgusting, making a poisonous atmosphere. Says Corey should apologize, Board should be more active to reach out to community.

Another resident (Bob Wills?) complaining about Corey questioning the Chief, said that the three prostitutes busted in Woodbridge last week had been turned over to ICE.
The point about Corey Stewart “skipping town” (as was just mentioned by Skip Brown?) after making a mess of things crossed my mind.

Patty Mattes thanked Corey for trying to get some answers, and also Chief Deane for his outreach. Wants some answers.
Who the heck wouldn’t commend Chief Deane for his outreach meetings? She attended one of his “outreach” meetings.
Carlos Castro (Ayuda Business Council) supports Chief Deane, says he’s been involved with foreign consuls, says they never told him they intended to influence Chief Deane. Equates treatment of hispanics with feeding Christians to the lions in the Roman Empire.
I am so sick of hearing people wanting nothing more than to keep illegal aliens right here in PWC so that they can profit off of them, while the taxpayers foot the bill for the services that they use. We can not abide criminals (illegal aliens) that have no right to be in this country.
Actually, Greg LeMond (note spelling) is the 1986 winner of the Tour de France.
PWCPD Association head says they support Chief Deane. Complained about questions Corey asked. Says protocol was followed, complains that Corey “undermined” him.
Mr. Reyes says supports Chief Deane, says Deane was insulted. Wants to have Rule of Law Resolution rescinded.

Elena Schlossberg-Kunkel says a cancer growing in community, sounds like she’s referring to BVBL, sounds pretty emotional. Now definitely trying to take quotes way out of context, complaining that I’m not censoring adequately.
This is a real world-class kook. Wants BOCS to “stop this”, presumably referring to BVBL.
I can’t believe that so many people want to rescind the resolution that gets rid of “criminal” illegal aliens. Maybe these people would like to have these people dropped off in their neighborhoods, instead of put behind bars, until deported.
Lois Battistoni, says Deane is honorable, handing out folders to Supervisors, suggests an investigation into consular activities is warranted.
Those hyphenated women are all a half bubble off.

Another speaker complains about lack of transparency about Deane’s activities, lack of prior notice, says that questioning Chief is responsible. Takes board members to task for letting personal views cloud judgment.
“Non-residents” are speaking but they give addresses. Are these illegals? Should we send their addresses to ICE?

Maybe we should think about allowing a representative from the Mexican Consulate sit of the BOCS, so that illegal aliens in PWC feel better and stay put. The way some of these people are speaking today, it would make them very happy. Then again, we could just turn our backs and allow Mexico to take over the USA.

Dexter Fox (Manassas City) speaking on behalf of Unity In The Community, references BVBL and says accusations against Deane are baseless. Says extremists are engaging in fear-mongering. Makes himself sound like a moderate voice — a novel notion.
As a side note, any one of these people talking before the board today and reading quotes off of this blog (using it for ammunition), by anonymous posters could very well be posting these comments themselves to use in just this way.

Deane provides his report on implementation of the Rule of Law Resolution - I have to run. Hope someone can pick up the thread.
Chief Deane has been opposed to this resolution from the beginning.
I realize these outreach meetings are part of his job - but he had no business getting involved with any official from any foreign consulate.
Corey Stewart’s questions were valid and should be answered in depth. The citizens want to know.
An English translation of what the Mexican consular official said at that meeting should also be provided.
Sounds like this is turning into a bash bvbl session by a bunch of lefty kooks. To them, Greg is the most dangerous man in PWC. Kooks like this claim that 9-11 was an inside job. Kooks who started a blog claiming they didn’t like censorship, but turn around and use comments from this blog as a reason that Greg should be silenced.
The anarchist left is growing in PWC, and they are getting brave. Note that Unity in the Community has joined the frey, and now they are throwing parties.

The Chief is giving a good (perhaps the first) explanation of his role under the Vienna Convention and his obligation to coordinate with Counselor Officers of other countries (news to me but enlightening). He probably should have gotten this info out earlier; however, I assume this clears up the issue.

Doesn’t sound like any violations of the Logan Act, International Protocols, or any other laws and treaties have been violated. Sounds like some sound police chief work. It does not sound like he was downplaying the effects of his enforcement, which is why illegals should still be scared.

Deane just gave his explination of the meetins he has had including the Mexican and asked if anyone had any question on this point. NOT ONE board member had a question including your darling Stewart.

I just pointed out that you did not show on your blog that the MJM reported that three asian women were taken to jail for Prostitution and turened over to ICE. You seemed to somehow failed to show this on your blogs but I doubt that would have happened if they were Latino’s.

So it’s permissible for him to meet with them because of all of the illegal alien criminals who haven’t been arrested yet?
I don’t think this is a black and white situation.
I have heard that Chief Deane has done an exceptional job in these outreach programs.

What vested interest do foreign nationals have in local policies? It’s either to ensure their citizens are repatriated in a quick and orderly fassion or to ensure that their economy continues to be fueled at the expense of our community.
I didn’t get to listen to Deane (came in at the end), so will have to hear it later. I hope the Deane will be more transparent in the future. I was disappointed that the BOCS didn’t ask one question, when he asked.

By having one voice giving the information, the message doesn’t run the risk of being said one way at one meeting and another way at another meeting.
I’m glad that the mini-controversy over whether Deane did or did not violate State Dept. protocols seems to have been quelled. So, has Chief Deane detailed the results of the first month yet?
I was cooking Dinner and did hear Deane say that he meet with so many foreign government agents…was it 13? They all sounded like they were Latino. Is there a reason that the rest of illegal aliens in this county are not being given representation time in front of Deane? If he is going to do it for one, why not all? Do we have any illegal aliens in PWC, other than Hispanic?

That’s the hypocracy. The same foreign governments that are funded by black market labor in the states will be the ones that feel the financial burn which will be the same ones that cry the loudest when all else fails.
They blew their first horn to battle - racism. That didn’t call in the troops. Now the Generals are forced to take action.

I’m satisfied with what I heard from the Chief regarding implementation of the resolution as well as his explanation of “outreach” efforts to the community. I’m also satisfied with the effects (so far) of the PWCPD’s implementation. More needs to be done, but this mess didn’t happen overnight, but with Stewart’s and Stirrup’s leadership, and the Chief’s good police work, it may get cleaned up in a couple of years.

Stewart just praised Chief Deane for his work and said that NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE WRONG. Were are you going now Greg and will you say that Stewart was right or wrong?
But Stewart and Stirrup seem to want to stir up a hornets nest without waiting to get the facts that they are getting right now (which seems to be calming them). If they remained more calm, it would help the community remain more calm and wait for the answers (like they just got).

Perhaps this were addressed in the meeting, but:
Why the lack of transparency? It appears that these meetings have been going on for a while. Back door meetings are no way to build up confidence. Shouldn’t someone have known when their chief of police is meeting with representatives of foreign governments about local policies?
If there’s an answer to this somewhere, forgive me.
If someone is hurt on that property, can they sue the County for it?

Well their claim to fame was the New Years Day raid in the 70’s on the county when they took office and changed all the locks on the doors to keep the County Executive Chuck Sharp out of his office along with others. It is because of them that we did not get a Regional Mall at Dale blvd and I-95. Ted Lerner ( owner of the Nationals) told the 4 hourse men that if they rezoned an additional site for a Mall at that site nothing would be built. He told the Fairfax CO Board the same thing and they denied the second zoning and got Tyson Corners Mall. What PWC got was a K Mart and many thousand of lost RE Taxes becasue of Land use taxation which was allowed on property zoned other then A-!. I put Hylton’s land in Land Use and of course that caused all kinds of up roar but the law was later changed to exclude any property other then A-! as it should be.
Just a little bit but this BOCS is worse then they were.
How many were at the secret meetings? Was it just Deane and the Foreign Government Agents? I would like some other views on what transpired behind closed doors. Again, I haven’t heard what Deane said yet, I am still recording the meeting.

Get over the character assassination. Deane was opposed to the program and is on record saying it. You support for a guy who does not want to go after child rapists is pretty sickening because they are illegal and a part of the population segment, Deane does not want to piss off.

Let the Chief do his job. We pay him to demonstrate sound judgement and make the correct decisions. I, for one, wouldn’t want a Chief of Police (or any senior official) who was afraid to do the right thing. I don’t think we have the particular right to be advised in advance of every meeting he holds or attends and the justification for said meeting.
It’s time to get over the fact that the Chief is doing the right thing and move on to an issue of substance. Sure, when they solicited his opinion he honestly stated he was against the resolution. Now, he is saluting and following orders. He’s not holding any grudges, neither should anyone else.
The Four Horseman history was interesting. I wonder if we can change the locks and keep the current BOCS out of the McCourt Center?

I think what everyone is forgetting is that the illegal alien supporters do not want any action whatsoever taken against illegals. They want the illegals to be granted Citizenship, provided for, and in general left alone. They see no issue with illegals who rape, murder, join gangs. They will come up with any excuse to not blame the illegal for their own actions.
Unfortunately, that type of mind set cannot be changed. It’s like you can tell them the sun sets in the West, and they will say no it does not.
Bob Wills is a fan of slandering people. His uneducated comments are not appreciated just shows he has an ax to grind against Stewart. His ramblings about the budget and other subjects just shows he doesn’t know what he is speaking about and he should be ignored.
Here’s Caddigan, not wanting the citzens to know what is going on. She doesn’t think Greg should be told about what’s going on, as he will post it and we will know what is happening.

I think the lack of dissemination of information is what got this started. Why don’t they pass on information about the goings on with the board and the Chief? How is that a problem? Information is power and people will feel better if they do.
Ms. Caddigan is on the hot seat about what goes on with the blogs. I guess she reads them huh? Maybe she should open her eyes and realize that some here on BVBL are not as quick to judge as others are. Some of us have a wait and see attitude.
I was there at the meeting. The only personal attacks made were directed to Chairman Stewart. I did not hear anyone make any personal attacks at Chief Deane. In fact Chairman Stewart commended the Chief.
Most of the attacks came from Ms. Hilda Barg. She has declared open warfare against Chairman Stewart and the Rule of Law resolution. She may be contacting Supervisor Nohe, Jenkins, Caddigan and Principi to convince them to kill it through the budget process. She was sure working her crowd today. I do believe she lined up people today.
I hope HSM members and those who support the Rule of Law resolution will go out to citizen’s time and express their support of the Rule of Law resolution.
Yes, some of the speakers were attacking this blog but based on the looks and comment I heard from those sitting in the room, they thought is was a little crazy to be attacking a blog writer at citizen’s time. I wonder when someone will talk about the RaisingKaine blog at citizen’s time?

Maureen Caddigan was complaining about a certain citizen who speaks at citizen’s time. She said she wanted to start speaking back to this citizen, Chairman Stewart said it is not the board’s policy to allow the Supervisors to respond. So she told him to “stop his friend from speaking”. I wonder which country she thinks she is living in?????

I think Chairman Stewart was right on about blog comments. What people post on blogs is similar to a gossip column. Remember those. I know a small town that still has one in the local paper.

LOL I have no nerves to be struck trust me. I do undersand that sometime you need to write the message on a 2×4 to deliever it and get thru to hard headed people. My problem with Greg is not as much as a limted view of what he goes after as much as what he could truly do to help all the people of PWC. He has started a platform which could address so many problems and turly make a change in what happens in PWC.
As to the common folk I have done a great deal over the years and bring up problems such as the Korean Dry CLeaners Assoc who got the BOCS to chan the zoning that preclude any fixed price dry cleaners from opeing in a retail area. This causes the ” common folk” a hugh amount of money every time they go to a dry cleaner except for the one in Manassas.
I spent 9 years in court when my mother fell at work and ended up in the hospital for two week and then came to live with me in 1992. She was told by Baltimore County that she was too old to he hurt on the job and there for could not be disabled. that will never happen in Md again and can be the legal basis if that were tried in VA as precedent.
I have no use for the lies that are told by the politicians to get elected. Maybe I have been invloved too much with Government over the years and understand finance and taxes and budgets too much but that is the arena I worked in for over 30 years.
The 800 million bond issue that was passed was promoted as not causing an increst in taxes. Then how would it be paid for? There certainly is no extra income to cover the 10% of total new taxes to cover it so what will happen? as They have done the BOCS does not issue the bonds because they do not have the income. Maybe you like being lied to or you believe what you are told. Stewart has created a MESS and is trying to find another office to run for to get out of the county problems for the next 4 years. As much as I have no use for him I hope he stays here for the full term and one day the public might see what a mistake they made in electing him. I think Jenkins and Caddigan should also go for they are either ineffective or double faced about who has rights or not. Stirrup might be setting Stewart up for a fall, May has no idea what he is doing, Noeh like to hear his self talk and Covington is the unknown to me. But he will start to hurt if he keeps riding that fence too long and not touching the ground with both feet :)))

Show me the slander please. You are right I have no use for Stewart and his lies and total lack of financial matters. So tell us why the 800 million dollar bond is not being issued for the item the public passed this last election? It is because there will be a tax increase to have the bonds issued despite the lie that the BOVCS and the GOvernment said would not happen. I have been dealing with PWC government since 1971.
How long and how many law suite have you been involved with in local government ?

When it said in the MJM article that the women were detained by ICE what more do you want as to the legal status of the suspects? Maybe you had a lot to read and did not catch that and I can honeslly understand that. that is all you had to say but you pick up on anything Latino.
What on earth does an hyphenated name have to do with anything? Secret meetings? For Pete’s sake, take a step back and read what is written here. Does different really threaten you this much? Elena Schlossberg-Kunkel makes herself out to be this disaffected Republican in front of the BOCS, but the Virginia Public Access Project doesn’t seem to confirm her Republican credentials.
Her only political contribution that shows up on VPAP is to a Democrat who ran against John Stirrup in 2003. I think she’s full of it.

The part of signing up to state if you are a PW resident is just another Stewart thing and how foolish. what is he afraid of and who cares when someone speaks.
Benton, I believe those rules are followed in M Park on a regular basis, but were only followed most recently when we had the marathon October 2006 citizens time, thank goodness. If I am incorrect, please correct this information.
Greg, I just want to thank you for bringing to my attention that I wasn’t on the list of contributors for Corey Stewart. After doing some research, it seems that my $500 check was never cashed. At first I was pretty embarrased. Then I realized that now I can honestly say, that I did not contribute to Corey Stewart’s campaign. I do wonder what happened to check number 4014, written to Friends of Corey Stewart and placed in the basket with all the other checks at the fund raiser hosted by Elena Kunkel. I guess we’ll never know, but I do want to sincerely thank you for helping to clear my conscience.
Elena has never ever claimed to be a republican. She is a proud democrat although she agrees with certain conservative republicans on land use issues.

Yes, Mrs. Schlossberg-Kunkel is quite the ELITEIST!!! Living affluently in HAYMARKET and casting her harsh rhetoric on those whom would advocate the enforcement of LAW and ORDER in our county. Yes WaPo, the Immigration Fight Has a New Target; and Mrs. Schlossberg-Kunkel has placed her self front and center as an avid supporter of people who are ILLEGAL in our county and their supporters (Mexican’s without borders, CASA MD, La Raza, the Mexican Government, etc.)
For the LEGAL citizens of PWC, siding with ILLEGALS and their supporters will ALWAYS be a losing strategy in our county.
