ICE Raids Springfield Mall

WJLA is reporting that a massage parlor in Springfield Mall was raided today, and they came up with ten illegal aliens. There’s no indication that prostitution was involved, but the business was operating without the proper licenses and apparently there were some unsanitary conditions that had raised concerns.
This in Senator Dick Saslaw’s district, although this probably doesn’t explain his steadfast protection of illegal aliens during the last session of the General Assembly. Saslaw definitely would have frequented a much more private place.
UPDATE: a reader points out that this is in fact in Senator Barker’s district. The irony would have been just too good…

Judging by the 5 guys that I ate lunch at today I would recommend raiding that place. No way the people in that kitchen were legal. Every business is doing it. Owners trying to eek out every last bit of profit that they can at the expense of America.

I hardly ever eat out anymore. With so many illegal aliens in this country, I worry about who is in contact with my food. We all know illegal aliens were not health screened when entering this country.

Generally, if they start running when you yell “LA MIGRA!”, it is a good clue that they are highly unlikely to be legal.

Just curious - why do you allow something non-factual (that it is Saslaw’s district, when you later correct it after the jump) to remain on the front page? I would think you would want the correction on the front page.

Does ICE pick up all the illegal aliens PWC police arrest, or just some? If just some, how many are left behind?
What happens with the illegal aliens after ICE picks them up?
Call me paranoid but I can’t help but wonder if ICE is just putting on a show and once outside the County, just releases them into another community.
Junes_Reston: All these ICE raids are for show. The employers are never punished. If an illegal woman has an anchor baby they usually let her go. These raids are not serious.

that seems to be an issue, I guess if they have an anchor (or one in the oven) they get a pass. I talked to a buddy in california on this matter not too long back (he’s hispanic and very legal) he said when they cross the border they’ll either do it pregnant (and risk their lives and that of the unborn child) or as soon as they get stateside they’ll attempt to get pregnant as fast and as much as possible. it’s like they think if they generate as many children they’ll be that much safer. It’s sick and i think this is pretty abhorrent…
…and we the taxpayers pay for their anchor babies.
The jail is talking about only having SERIOUS offenders picked up in the future by ICE. It was in the article about how ICE finally got off their butts and picked up some folks. But at the end of the article, the jail said they were thinking of revising who goes to ICE and only confining it to the serious criminals. Apparently, they plan on letting the run-of-the-mill criminal back into our communities.
We need an ICE raid of Prince William County, stem to stern!!!

If you really think the employees of that particular 5 Guys are illegal, why do you do business there. The employer only understands the Dollar - and if he is losing business due to hiring illegals, he will rectify the situation.

Remember, folks-an Immigration Judge makes the final decision to deport, detain or release, not ICE. Police Officers and Deputy Sheriffs don’t release prisoners, judges do. Let’s try to remember that these ICE Agents are out there doing a job, a job that we have been asking to be done.

This leads someone to believe that the story was written or broadcasted on the 18th, when in fact it was the 16th when this raid took place.
So, before you start in on someone, be sure to have your facts straight.
The post above states that the massage parlor was raided “today” (i.e. April 18). Your criticism was directed at the mainstream media. This is a blog, not the mainstream media. The mainstream media (WTOP) reported it correctly. The blog reported it incorrectly.
Again, get your facts straight before you criticize.
Be gentle with El Guapo, Medic…I sided with him on another thread and he read it totally wrong, actually accusing me of being a liar. Needless to say, I have some doubts about his reading comprehension. It’s unfair to berate the handicapped.
One can make a mistake and then shut up about it after being corrected.
One can also refuse to acknowledge one’s error and continue to insist that one is right even after repeatedly being corrected. This is what Medic is doing. Let’s see how far he pushes it. This is fun.
