My understanding of this is that until the police read a suspect their Miranda Rights, they cannot check immigration status. This measure clearly defines the process as it related to probable cause, removes the risk of a lawsuit, eliminates the need for cameras and an Illegal Alien Task Force.

The question is not whether the Rule of Law resolution was weakened, but rather the end results will be the same.

If construction picks up again, and businesses need cheap labor, will the problem recreate itself with illegals coming here for work?
