I read McCain selling his followers out again?

100 years in Iraq and a nation full of illegal aliens, McCain’s vision for the future.

Nice job VRE!!! They decide to do signal track testing on the VA lines during the day and make a complete mess out of 66 bound traffic. Why couldn’t they have done that on the weekend or at night like any other normal system testing is done. Seems to me that isn’t the way that commuters can save money on gas, eh? (sorry for the rant as it just frustrates me to sit in unnecessary traffic).

Rick - I don’t know anyone who isn’t angry with Juan McAmnesty (John McCain). He is pandering to the illegal crowd, hobnobbing with La Raza, and he has returned to his amnesty stance.

He is a disgrace to conservatives and to the Republican party.

The only value he adds to the presidential race is that he says he will SECURE THE BORDER. Fortunately, the president cannot give amnesty to illegal aliens.

The AMERICAN people do not and will not sit idly by while Congress tries to ram amnesty down our throats. We must never give up! As Alistair Moody said, “Constant vigilance!”

I do not intend to post anything further to him unless he comes up with a valid point to debate. I have control over myself and I can ignore what they type. :)

    KP,
VRE does not own any track and uses track that it leases from Norfolk Southern and CSX. CSX decided to the track work today despite VRE pleads not to. VRE dealt with it in the best way they could. If you are VRE rider, you can sign up for free Email news alerts that have sending out warnings for past 3 weeks.

If your not and you work in area that is serviced by VRE, maybe you should consider stepping up and riding it yourself instead of expecting everyone else to get off the road for you.

Regards to the Chicken Farm. I have tried a new approach and hope to get the Code Enforcement, Health Dept. and Police. We will see if it works.

This is absolutely disgusting that it has been allowed to go on so long.

Another interesting thing is as long as the messes are in the rear yards, the County thinks this OK.
Well wait till all the rats start taking over and then the County might see where they were wrong.

Any neighbor who has to look from their back yard and see junk, they need to make a complaint and call the Health Dept.

    For pete’s sake!

okay, I had to find who Pete is.

    ————————————————-

How did the saying “For Pete’s Sake” come from?

Biblical origins. Think of St Peter. Think of the omnipresent medieval church and think of hitting your thumb with a hammer. You can’t swear, else the local priests will have you up before the Bishop and the Lord alone knows what the outcome of that will be, so you exclaim, in appropriate tone of voice, “For Saint Peter’s sake” and carry on erecting the shelves. This phrase was amended to “For Pete’s Sake” in later, less religiously oppressive, times.

    Hi there,
Thought I would wander over here and drop in to say “hi” since apparently, according to the crazies at the 9500 Liberty Blog, I am Greg! And apparently SecondAlamo is Tom Kopko!! My screen name is Mytime2speak and they refuse to believe that a legal immigrant could be so vehemently against illegal immigration and supportive of the Rule of Law resolution!

You guys are doing great work. I just want to know why the issue with the day laborers loitering and being obnoxious and a public nuisance is NOT being dealt with and taken seriously? Is the next stage to contact ICE directly and circumvent the PWCPD who clearly have no interest in solving this blight?

How can those of us who don’t live in Woodbridge help with the chicken ranch caper? They tried that out in our neck of the woods but they were shut down pretty quick by the HOA.

Thank you for the correction. I never intended to imply that everyone else get off the road. If VRE, or for that fact any other means of public transportation, that would take me to Fairfax or Vienna, then I certainly would use it. Alas, none exist, so I must drive to work to pay my MP property tax. There was just a lot of extra traffic that could have been avoided if only the testing was done, say, like on Saturday. Make sense?

I did not mean to imply you should take VRE but I know several people who drove to work when they live within a mile VRE station and work in Crystal City. For those people, I feel no sympathy for when they complain about gas prices or commuting time.

I’d take VRE in a heartbeat if I could. The cars are nice, seats are comfortable; what’s not to like? I only wish it ran to Rosslyn. You can take VRE to Crystal City, but walking to the metro, getting in the station, and taking the short trip to Rosslyn takes almost as long as riding from Manassas to CC.

I would remind the McCain haters that about a year and a half ago, the Senator took a bold and courageous stand to support President Bush’s troop surge in Iraq. He did so at great political risk to himself, whilst all the liberals were demanding an immediate surrender.

That surge is now paying off big dividends. Violence there is down and we are closer to victory in Iraq now than ever before. Why give up now? We cannot afford to lose this war, as it would have grave consequences for our nation’s security.

What McCain did is called Presidential leadership - taking an unpopular stand on principle.

I am shocked and outraged that so many so-called conservatives would be willing to cowardly sell out our own troops in favor of surrender to our nation’s enemies.

Ducky - welcome back! I don’t have a problem with McCain’s stance on the war.

I have a huge problem with him selling out the American people by supporting amnesty. How can conservatives resolve that issue?

This is not a pot shot - please explain how we can support McCain’s position on amnesty as well as the fact that he is pandering to La Raza and other anti-American groups so he can attain the Latino vote?

DPortM, thanks! Is the wage statement something they file with their taxes? How does that expense get counted in the books for someone who is using illegal laborers? If the contractor doesn’t give the day laborer any paperwork or even a name, how does the worker file that income on his tax return? (Not that the vast majority have any intention on filing)

Peter G, go find out for yourself. Call the school or check with the local papers. Why do you need someone else to do your digging for you? If it’s that important to you, get up off your brains and get the answer. Then, when you find out, you can post the results and call Greg a liar, or apologize to him if the story checks out.

Ah, riding to Hoodbridge Saturday morning, around 8:15am….first thing my son says when we turn the corner onto Rt. Uno and see about 30 men hanging out at the 7/11 was “WHOA!”.

I said - THAT’S why we are not working right
now - those guys right there.

Then, less then oh, 5 blinks down the road, ANOTHER 7/11 with ANOTHER 30 men PLUS one woman hanging out…..it took everything I had to not pull in there and start screaming…..

(What happened that 7/11 thought it would be good to have 2 stores so close to each other, on the SAME SIDE OF THE STREET? Location, location, location….)

My frustration with this crap is up to HERE. Why
are they allowed to mob like this? Why are they given a pass that they would NEVER give to 30 white men or 30 black men???

I’m sick of it and sick of watching police crusiers go by like there’s nothing wrong with this picture. Are their hands really tied or is it up to
the individual officer to do something?

I know they cleared these guys out of the 7/11’s in the Yorkshire area. Why can’t they do it at these two infamous 7/11’s?

Oh, and nice “welcome” signs at 2 restaraunts we passed….both Latino, and both had their knotted up curtians in the windows…..I’d laugh if it were so depressing…..

Greg - can we rally this group into showing up at a 7/11 one Saturday morning (I’ll be there!) and just hang out for a couple hours? We should have at least 100 people. To keep the numbers of us and “them” even, you know. I would love to see what happens to us…..

Should we pee and drink in public, too? Just a thought……
