think of it like this people . . .just my opinion here . . .

. . .whenever you have a large group of people moved/moving into an area/city/country, you enevitably have problems. in spite of all the well meaning hard working people, more often than not there are some bad people within the group as well.

take into account when the white man moved into the lands occupied by the “native americans” (actually there is no such thing, everyone migrated here over the bering land bridge 1000’s of years ago). there were honest decent hard working people trying to get away to a place where they wouldn’t be persceuted for their particular religions, and move to a place where they could live and live in harmony with those around them. and then there were those who thought they had the “right” or what have you to subjugate these peoples, make them their slaves and deal with them however they saw fit.

that’s the situation we are all in now with regards to the “bad” hispanics. now as i’ve said, not all of them are bad people. most i’ve seen are honest, decent hard working people just looking to provide a decent living for them and their families. it’s the gang members, the addicts, the drunks and whoever else that makes it bad for them as a whole. it is those “bad people” we need to focus on. be it with denial of social services, new laws and anything else we can legally use. if you are illegal you DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO ANYTHING IN THIS COUNTRY, YOU ARE A CRIMINAL. YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAWS OF THIS COUNTRY AND SHOULD BE DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY. if you are here in this nation legally, then i as well as many people out here welcome you to our country.

WOW what a event lots of gang problems in Manassas Park and most of the time only three police officers working the streets how safe do you feel, i do think my tax dollars ought to pay for more that just a radar gun.

God forbid the police may have been all the way across town answering a stupid call from a citizen that thier neighbor was blocking thier driveway….or the fact that there may have only been two of them working that night and one was tied up with an arrest.

c’mon 300 gang members?? You can’t even get 300 MP citizens to go to city hall during scheduled council meetings to voice thier opinions on critical issues that concern thier own city.

Ok so someone claims to have seen several hundred people, and somehow they were able to determine that they were MS-13 and Southside Locos involved in a gang battle. They called the police who were only a few blocks away, and when they arrived there were no MS-13 members nor Southside Locos nor was there any evidence of a gang battle. And there were no othere known witnesses.

And the media is criticized for having “missed” this event.

I’m not in journalism, but it is my understanding that something that takes place solely within someone’s imagination is not in and of itself newsworth.

I guess they come to Manassas Park because if they get caught in Prince William County they would get deported. 300 gang members sounds like a lot and it does sound like it could be an exaggerated number. But on the other hand we do have over 2000 ms13 gang members in the Northern Virginia area. I don’t know how many SSL there are. But if they are having a major “turf war” getting 300 together doesn’t sound to far fetched.

There is a stream bed and what looks to be a wooded area that intersects Denver Drive right near it’s intersection with Manassas Drive. This wooded area/stream bed continues all the way to Amherst Drive and then to the Bull Run.

Is it possible that 300 people could have disappeared into this wooded area? From the satellite view I see on Google Maps, maybe. I’d like to do an on-site check but it’s a little dark for that right now.

Hate to bring in a reality check but frankly just 2 strange guys, let alone 10, fighting or facing off in the street in front of my house would be of huge concern to me. Might be 300 might not. Whether there were 2 or 10 or 300 makes no difference to me, the issue is the same. Was it in fact gang related or not? There is someone somewhere who knows the truth about this event. Round up the participants and put them on ICE.

Sounds like someone has a real issue with Blooms Crossing. My view is that we’re all in this together, let’s work to solve these problems and let’s be honest and admit that there are some problems–on BOTH sides of the city, the new AND the old.

I don’t know about the veracity of this story, however, gangs are a real issue all over the Northern VA area right now. It is certainly not a problem unique to MP, yet MP is not immune from it either.

This is such BS. This blog is so racist and negative, blah, blah, blah…did you all like manassas park when our kids went to school in cardboard depressing buildings and the steel fabricated rec-center is a real prize right? Oh I know none of you lived here when there was no blooms crossing and the toothless white trash couldn’t raise funds for better schools and better services. I don’t see why people can’t be grateful for the improvements, grateful for a small community…I could care less what PWC tax rates are as long as my kids don’t go to those schools. Why don’t you move to fairfax county pick a neighborhood that is all white, and live in secluded bliss…then your kid can go to highschool with 900 other kids and be another number.
Why not? Cause you really aren’t rich enough…you pretend your blooms house makes you something, and it might in Manassas park, but in Fairfax you’d be living in a 1980s townhouse at best. 300 mexicans my ass.

1. There’s enough abandoned houses on Denver/Manassas that 300 members could hide no problem. They just have to make sure the door shut enough so it doesn’t look like they kicked it in.

2. Who says they were all in one giant spot? Couldn’t it have been smaller groups all up and down the road?

Not saying it didn’t happen, since there’s been gang activity everywhere that no one catches right away. But first-hand accounts would help.
