Obama Campaign: No Free Speech For You
By Greg L | 4 June 2008 | National Politics | 22 Comments
This is a real hoot. Lee Diamond from the Barack Obama campaign is threatening to “snap my head back” if I make use of my constitutional right to free speech during the Barrack Obama rally tomorrow. Nice to see these folks understand what our country is all about.
If you protest tomorrow I will do my best to make sure that every normal, centrist voter in Fairfax County knows who is backing Keith Fimian. With people like you behind Keith, that means the 11th CD is just that much more on ice for the Dems and we can focus our resources elsewhere. With your help, 250 seats in the House is within the realm of possibility. Thanks.
Try being a real big boy and advocate on behalf of your candidates. Your negative energy will be used by us on the rebound to snap your head back that much more. The reason I am telling you this is that I would prefer to have a civil debate.
If you’d like to borrow one of my books and read about the country we both inhabit, I’d be happy to loan you one.
Lee Diamond
Obama For America
With the development of a chuckle-head open-borders foreign national coming to lecture us about human rights next week, I figured I’d probably be too busy to take the time to protest this empty suit Barack Obama, but this idiot definitely makes me want to reconsider.
So here’s my response:
Lee,
Thank you for your kind note. Bite me.
Regards,
Greg Letiecq

Greg, just an FYI but this guy is not with the Obama campaign. He is just an overzealous volunteer. Always has been and always will. He does crap like this all the time.
“Snap your head back”? I’m a liberal and even that rubs me the wrong way. Is that or is that not a “threat” so to speak? If I said that to my boss, would I have a job today?
HA! Excellent and appropriate response.
You seem in danger of living out a flame war, in real space.
For once, I would endorse the “Bite me” response. What a maroon!
Not worthy of your time Greg. Let them have their rally, the traffic back-up will be torture enough.
Bringing Fimian into it, just proves what a crack-pot (no pun intended) this guy is!
James Young - Why don’t you just maroon the moron? Or have a macaroon. English is wonderful!
Everyone has a right to peaceful protest in this country we all “inhabit.” If Mr. Diamond doesn’t know that yet, I wonder what books he has been reading?
Krutis, I believe James Young was just making a cute, old Bugs Bunny cartoon reference.
As a postscript to my 10:27 a.m. -
I don’t see much point in protesting Obama’s arrival. It’s up to you. I figure give the man his day with his supporters. I’m not going to vote for Obama, he’s way too in left field for me, but I’m not exactly sure what protesting his mere presence accomplishes.
Why don’t you send Lee’s e-mail to the Obama campaign and see if they will apolozige to you for their “overzealous volunteer?”
I am the definition of “normal, centrist voter” and I’m really not dissuaded from Keith Fimian, whom I have decided to support. But I look forward to Mr. Diamond’s very futile attempts to dissuade me and my ilk. Right now, I think my response to such attempts would also be “bite me.”

Why does Krusty always need a translator?
“Bite Me”…mahvelous!!!. The PWC Board should send out this same response to Jorge Bustamante.
And the Dems claim to be the kinder, gentler, more compassionate, better educated party.
You are correct, Anon 10:27 and Che. I guess attempts at humor are wasted on the incredibly earnest.
However, Anon 10:27, I succeed at being “cute” — I have sons for that — even less frequently than I succeed at being humorous.
Krusty, can you understand the words that are comin’ out of my mouth?
I will protest via the voting booth, regardless of my write in.
I did not say I was with the Obama campaign and what I wrote could not be taken literally by any person who can read. The link at the bottom of my emails is to a personal fundraising page at the Obama campaign website.
The fact remains the craziness espoused here is bad for the Republicans as they want to win broad support just as the Democrats do.
I regret sending an email when I was in a bad mood. It was clearly metaphorical as in NOT to be taken literally.
I object to the publication of an email which was suggesting to you how misguided it would be to protest against a candidate when you have the opportunity to support your own candidate.
That is all I was doing. I was insulted by the idea of someone attacking others while offering nothing positive of their own.
Your objection is noted. As is your total idiocy.
You are a fool if you think that sending a threatening email on behalf of a political campaign (which you suggested) to a conservative blogger is not going to get prominently splashed everywhere possible. Suggesting that you decide campaign strategy in Virginia for the Barack Obama campaign and will exact revenge if someone exercised their first amendment rights is political fodder of the first degree.
I’m pleased that I got this opportunity to see how Barack Obama’s activist base behaves. It’s rather enlightening, and might give us some idea of what would happen to this country in the unlikely case that Obama manages to evade questions about his lack of experience, total absence of qualifications, ties to radical Black Liberation Theology proponents and unrepentant terrorists, and outright criminals.
You did the American people a great service. Thanks.
Idiot.
Slam Dunk, Greg L…the ‘uniter’ and his minions divides again.
Lee Diamond, regretting something is not the same as apologizing for it.
In the barrio, we refer to Greg’s 3:03 post as a “b#@ch slap”.
Lee Diamond,
What I don’t understand is your suggestion that, if Gred would simply not protest tomorrow, that you would refrain from actions which would link Fimian to Greg.
First, if you think such actions are wrong, why would you ever suggest you would act wrongly simply because someone else does?
Second, if you think such actions are NOT wrong, why would you ever say you wouldn’t do so, simply to try to bribe someone into avoiding a meaningless protest?
Third, given that conservatives have been around Virginia politics for a while, and seen how the democrats keep their word, what makes you think that we’d be stupid enough to think that you would keep your word?
BTW, I note that while you point out that you never SAID you were with the Obama campaign, you also didn’t actually say you were NOT with the campaign.
Are you with the campaign, or not? I’m guessing not, because Obama is a lot of things, but he’s got a pretty good campaign staff.
