MS-13 Gang-Banger Given Probation

By Greg L | 6 June 2008 | Crime, Manassas City | 16 Comments

How’s this for justice?  An MS-13 gang-banger connected with the November, 2006 murder of Manassas resident C. J. Angelos was sentenced to fifteen years in prison, with all of that time suspended, and put on probation for five years.  I imagine more than a few readers would figure that if they were convicted of criminal gang participation and participated in an assault by mob that resulted in a murder, instead of being put on probation we’d be locked up for as much of the full prison term as possible.  I wonder what unique characteristic applied to Santos Alfredo Espinosa Reyes which allowed him to entirely escape the prison term he so rightly deserved.

Since the Potomac News, which is reporting this information has been rather circumspect about reporting on the immigration status and deportation orders that have been placed on the suspects in this case, it is possible that this convicted MS-13 gang-banger is another person convicted in this case who is being turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation.  I understand from the family of the murder victim that all of the other convicts in this case had an immigration detainer placed on them, so it’s quite possible this happened to Reyes as well and instead of this convicted MS-13 gang-banger being released back into our community, he will be deported with the understanding that if he re-enters the country he will immediately be sent to prison to serve out the full suspended sentence.

If that is the case, it would be a substantial comfort to the community, which otherwise has been lead to believe that the justice system released this thug back onto our streets.  Since the paper reports that he has been placed on “five years of active probation”, his release back into our community is the more likely outcome.

This is an outrage.

I don’t want to deport murderers. I want them to get the chair, or spend the rest of their life in a very bad place.

The chair puts out 2000 volts at 6 amps, which is enough to cook anything! That’s 12kW, about 10 times the power of a space heater and more power than a typical electric stove with every element turned on.

Speaking of capital punishment, did you know that Mexico will not extradite anyone that is facing capital punishment in the USA?

Incidentally, I got those voltage and current figures from the Wikipedia article on the electric chair.

  7. CONVA said on 6 Jun 2008 at 2:22 pm:

If the voltage to the electric chair is DC, 12KW is correct. If it is AC the 12kw is apparent power, the “real” power would be somewhat less. In any case, the smell of burning flesh of these cretins would be an acceptable aroma.

Yes, but remember, for resistive loads the real and apparent power are the same.

They will probably deport him to his country like they have done with all of the gangbangers. They deport them and run free in a country that cannot incarcerate them because they did not do any harm in the country receiving them.

I say burn the gangbangers or keep them in jail for a long time. They will suffer more.
