Lou Dobbs is in FAVOR of PWC and the immigration crackdown…if you watched the video clip you can see that he and his reporter are stating that Bustamante has no reason to be here, and they have some nice clips of Chairman Stewart where he’s allowed to speak his piece in full, and show that Bustamante has no reason to come to PWC because there are no county-sponsored or county-condoned human rights violations occuring against illegal immigrants. They point out that Bustamante is the father of one of the request for dual-citizenship between the US and Mexico. I think it’s a great piece and one of the first times I’ve seen this issue in a positive light from the media.

Thankfully Bustamante thought better of coming here, official or otherwise…although it sure would’ve been interesting to see things would’ve panned-out.

I agree. Ask for the proper paperwork from them in regards to the meeting. I would, if I was Chairman Stewart, call a press conference and let them know the UN farce didn’t have the proper clearances to speak to them and therefore was not given the time he wanted to discuss the items they wanted to discuss. This is a timing thing as well, this has to be done before lyall and her ilk can push out the fabricated reason. There are rules and procedures and I am feeling pretty confident that lyall and the MWB group have not secured the proper State Dept. paperwork to allow this man to meet with our BOCS.

Since they didn’t have the proper paperwork, Chairman Stewart can push them out the door and they can not say a word about it.

Of course, this may very well be in the works as we speak!!

starryflights, on first reaction, i felt the same way that you did. then i started thinking about it. i remembered that Ms. Lyalls gave our BCOS one time slot to meet this UN posser. and if they couldn’t meet at that time (after all, they all have jobs and schedules, and are all booked in their daily lives), she could have said that the BCOS declined to meet with this guy. nevermind that the BCOS had one week’s notice as to the one time the UN guy was available to meet with them. so Corey is spiking her PR guns, and i say good for him!

i also hope that Corey will ask for whatever credentials have been issued by the State Department for a UN official to meet with the elected head of a government entity. no credentials? this meeting is over. preceedures must be followed, no matter what Ms. Lyalls thinks.

That’s why it is incumbent upon parents to take an active role in their children’s education. I was a PhD student at Catholic Univ studying Medieval History when the radical swing toward “revisionist history” really got going, and I saw first-hand the refocusing of educators away from Western history and ideas toward the ultimate goal of “anything Western is bad” Bet your behind that my boy will learn to think for himself and question garbage when he hears it. We can make a difference!

The trouble makers behind this stunt do not represent the voice of our community. Our community united to drive them away, our BOCS listened, acted, and it’s working.

PWC is basically getting the s**t kicked out of them because they are standing up for the laws that govern this nation. Little wonder why others are fearing standing up! However, it would certainly send a strong message along way IF the entire Board of Supervisors were standing up straight and tall alongside of Chairman Stewart.
