Return To The Coverstone Day Labor Site

By Greg L | 7 June 2008 | Illegal Aliens, Crime, Prince William County | 51 Comments

A number of Help Save Manassas members returned to the informal day laborer site at the 7-11 on Coverstone Drive this morning and documented what we believe to be violations of state and federal laws, as well as reported drinking in public and public urination violations to the Prince William County Police Department.  Members of this Crime Prevention Team spent a little more than two hours on site, and as now seems to be usual, drew a response from John Steinbach of Mexicans Without Borders, Gaudencio Fernandez, and Eric Byler.

We showed up a little before 8 AM, and found about thirty-six day laborers at the 7-11 and the adjacent vacant property.  We ran into a number of residents who were very interested in what we were doing and who expressed an interest in learning about how they could participate in future Crime Prevention Team activities.  Some folks swinging by weren’t quite so happy to see us.  There were quite a few that drove onto the access road in front of 7-11 and drove right on past, without stopping at the 7-11 or doing anything other than taking a strange, short scenic detour.  The day laborers seemed to be fairly well behaved towards me, although they treated the female members of the team quite differently — even making gunfire noises to one and saying something that sounded like “mit-ray-a-bahn” to her.  She seemed to think this was a threat, but language barriers make these hard to coherently deliver.

About an hour after we arrived John Steinbach showed up to have a meeting with these folks, and again Gaudencio Fernandez, the man too busy to apply for building permits for his billboard on Prince William Street, showed up to hang out with the day laborers.  Eric Byler later arrived and set up in his preferred semi-concealed position so he could scruitinize every action we took without adding to the circus atmosphere and making potential employers more nervous than they already might be.

About six vehicles picked up day laborers, and with the strong coverage we had onsite it was easy to document all of these instances from multiple angles.  One of the more fascinating instances was when a U-Haul truck appeared which prompted an absolute mad dash by all the day laborers to the vehicle.  A few people tried to be sneaky, but there wasn’t quite as much comedy as the last time.

About 9:30 we saw a group of people trying to hide behind the vacant property adjacent to the 7-11 and enjoying a few beers.  After we saw a member of this group relieve himself against the side of the building, we contacted Prince William County police.  They came by about five minutes later and seemed to be taking at least one suspect into custody.

We left the site a little after 10 AM, satisfied that we had done just a little to make Prince William County a better place, that everyone behaved themselves, and that the IRS, ICE, and the Virginia State Police will have some new crime intelligence information that might help bring some felony lawbreakers to justice.

He probably was mad..sure.. but so you know he wasn’t saying he was going to kill her .

He was saying ,, Me meaning “I am” and trabajan “working

What was really funny was when the Corona truck showed up, a couple of the day workers sprung into action guiding the truck as it backed into the 7-11 parking lot. Breakfast of champions…

“Yo estoy trabajando” means “I am working”

“Trabajan” is would be used to say “They are working” or “You all are working”. “Mi” is the first person subject pronoun and would be used when the first person is the subject (obviously) like the English word “me”.

Whatever he said, an anti-Hispanic fanatic would surely interpret it to mean something threatening or derogatory. Even if the man said, “Have a nice day,” in perfect English an anti-Hispanic fanatic would find some reason to object to it.

But back to the story, we’re all proud of those that are out there making the county a better place. You’re difference makers. This story should be read with background music, something like “I Believe I Can Fly”. Or maybe “The Ballad of Irving” with some new lyrics.

The “put*” slur is a very filthy slur. We Americans are very accustomed to hearing or saying so-and-so is a b*tch. And to many of us it is crude and unkind and not said in polite company, but it does not carry the same impact in our culture as it does in others. So, to some extent we may not take it to be as foul as it is actually intended to be. There is a “c” word in English that would more perfectly encompass the foulness of the “p” word in the Spanish language and/or culture.

Let us enforce the hireing of daylabores as aggresively as we go after johns who solicite prostitutes. I wonder how popular that would be to the neighbor who wants a cheap mulch job done in that bastion of republican ideology of the gated community of piedmont!!!! Ever wonder why it as such? Much easier to throw these people in jail and have them rot on our dime while bankrupting the county and have our infrastructer go untended. I wonder how many of you wine nd cheese types who supported the 45million dolar gm concert hall have your kids useing an outhouse in school. Thats right you dont!!! Not my kid not my problem. Now my tax goes to some illegal immagrant sitting in jail at 75 dollars a day with no end in site because the feds told us they have no idea when they will come and pick them up. Dry up the demand by impossing fines on those who hire them and increase the tax revenue at the same time. Just because you dont hire them directly with your hoa contracting out landscaping, I am quit shure you do not mind the low increase in your hoa bills by looking the other way?You guys are nothing but arogant nimbys who cling to what you got and the hell with everybody else.

“Whore”. Puto, I believe refers to a fellow who has, shall we say, switched sides.

Personally, if a lady in my presence (wife/daughter/friend) was called a ‘puta’, it’s clobberin’ time. I won’t stand for that $h|t.

Just come by here in manassas and take a look at Westgate Elementary School. While you are in town, have a look at the run down facilities of Stonewall Middle school. I hope you guys go bankrupt filling up your suvs so you can sit still in gridlocked traffic just so your kids can be isolated with what our children have to deal with. The class warfare concept is on. Maybe you ougth to read Jim Webbs new book. I just believe that all children of above average intelligence, not just those at the higher economic levels, deserve the same oportunities as their well endowed piers have. What country sends their children to school to use an outhouse??? Why is there no outrage at this??? Thats right, you brentsville people were all popsied about your kids haveing to use a trailor as a classroom. There is plenty of capacity at Stonewall Jackson High School. El Guapo apparently studied only Castillian Spanish and is not able to translate slang terms such as the “p” word. That explains his failure to educate us as to the English meaning of this word, when he readily translated the other phrase for us.

BTW, anti-Hispanic fanatic translates into racist. Another EG hit and run. Such bravery….

The majority of the day labors minded their own business today. However there were also quite a few who were trying to get reactions from us. They were ignored but the comments are not forgotten. I was told to get the F@#* out of Manassas.

I found it amusing to see Eric Byler hiding behind the tree filming us. What I don’t find amusing is that he still tells ONE side of this issue.

The other thing I found amusing is after John Steinbach showed up the day labors brought out trash bags and tied them to the fence for trash. Actually it may have been when Eric showed up and they wanted to look good for the camera.

Eric has a YouTube clip where a man states he and his family are so frightened that they don’t go out much, yet here he was at the Coverstone day labor site. Go figure.

They weren’t working, they were sitting on their butts smoking and joking as we used to say in the military. Several of them were drinking some alcohol and watering the sides of buildings as well.

They were sitting on property right beside a “No Trespassing” sign, guess they couldn’t read the English. They were putting their trash all over the place and when Steinbach showed up they put up a couple of trash bags to make it look good before 9500 Liberty camera showed up. They did NOT pick up their trash.

They bring cardboard so that they can sit on it in the dirt. They are planning on being there for awhile.

We gave up our Saturday morning with our family to document contractors breaking the law.

UnMas….the first step in getting help is to ask for it….and the way to ask for help in becoming a citizen (we don’t have “official” and “unofficial” citizens) is to submit an application through legal channels. Those who refuse to do that don’t want help.

You know that, you understand that; you simply don’t want “your friends” to comply with our laws, but instead gain citizenship by following THEIR concept of law. I don’t even think “your friends” WANT citizenship, they want what we enjoy without exerting the effort to earn it.

    Sorry Bud, no help here!

Actually UnMasMexican, if I ever find out who you are, I will make it my life’s work to have you and your friends hunted down and deported…after any other outstanding warrants have been adjudicated. I still remember that threat you made against my daughter quite some time ago (and it was very much a threat since I do not use a pseudonym, nor post anonymously) on a thread concerning threats by, perhaps, “your friends” against young girls (under 12…attempted kidnapping, harassment…just the usual stuff we have NEVER before tolerated, or as I recall, even experienced in this county).

For those who may have missed it, or forgotten it, this little pissant, while attempting to justify the behavior of his “friends,” said that he would come to MY home and show MY daughter what a “real man” could do for her, not even knowing how young she might be. This is, of course, paraphrased and the original statement was far more creepy. Keep commenting here UnMas…it’ll make it easier to track you down.

UnMas, did you really threaten AWCheney’s child? and you thought that would support your cause here exactly how? is it a cultural thing for you that women, and especially female children, have no rights, they are fair game and they can be threatened and intimidated?

is that why illegal males have felt free to expose their “junks” and waggle them at white females? do you find that acceptable? would you stand for that in front of your wife (assuming you are male) or your female child? if that is the case, do you not get what this arguement is all about?

AWC, i’m sorry i missed that thread. i promise i would have jumped in with both feet to help! i would have defended your child to my last breath.

so it’s a culteral thing, in the illegal alien community, to molest underage girls, including children? well, what else do we really need to know? our culture does not support such abuses. of course there are a certain number of deviants who will abuse children, and they are severely punished when caught, but it is NOT a cultural thing, where all men feel free to molest and rape any female, no matter what her age.

AWC, is that a fairly accurate summation of the thread in question?

I expect that legal immigrants who have assimilated our culture have left that part of theirs behind…at the least they would know it’s illegal. The problem would be that those who refuse to assimilate, and routinely ignore the law anyway, would be less likely to do that.

I just got back from May-hee-co where my company has a plant. Guess what happens if I don’t have a Mexican FMN immigration document? I can’t get in the plant. If they left me in the plant, I’d be an illegal alien working in May-hee-co. My company doesn’t want to get raided by the Mexican INS and heavily fined. If I was caught, I’d go to jail, have to pay a fine/bribe and then be deported. Go figure.

Here are 35 more headed home. Hope they’ll stay there this time: http://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=15895&SectionID=6&SubSectionID=&S=1

This is a national problem that we’re going to have to handle at the local level since the idiots we’ve elected to Washington don’t seem to want to do anything about it. Gwinnett County, Georgia is hiring enough new deputies to screen every person booked into the County jail. With the increased staff, we will be able to deport the illegals rather than catch and release as we do now. The drain on our County’s resources by the illegals is immense just like it is in PWC and almost everywhere else in the U.S.

Hope ya’ll keep up the good work. The more difficult it is for the illegals, the more likely they will leave your area and either put a drain on one of the sanctuary areas or head back home.
