Gerry Connolly: Dhimmi Extrordinaire

By Greg L | 12 June 2008 | Gerry Connolly, Fairfax County, US Congress | 19 Comments

Michelle Malkin picks up the story on Gerry Connolly’s support of a Saudi-funded islamic school in Fairfax County that teaches that it is OK to murder adulterers and apostates, who are those who convert to another religion.  The report by the United States International Commission on Religious Freedom which she references includes some rather interesting excerpts from the texts used to “teach” children who attend this school, which Gerry Connoly allows to operate on county-owned land.

“The cause of the discord:  The Jews conspired against Islam and its people.  A sly, wicked person who sinfully and deceitfully professed Islam infiltrated (the Muslims).  He was ‘Abd Allah b. Saba’ (from the Jews of Yemen).  … began spewing his malice and venom against the third of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, ‘Uthman (may God be pleased with him), and falsely accused him.”  (Tawhid, Administrative/Social Sciences Track, 67)

The operation of this school has attracted the attention of the United America Committee, which is concerned with the influence of radical islam in the United States.  When the lease of the county-owned property was discussed by the Fairfax Board of County Supervisors on May 19th, a representative from the Virginia chapter testified about the disturbing nature of this Saudi-funded school before the board only to be told by Gerry Connolly that they were slandering the Islamic Saudi Academy before he derisively dismissed their concerns.  Fairfax Supervisor Jim Hyland later admitted in this hearing that some of the texts used at the school were “of concern”, although the Fairfax County Board approved the school’s lease, ignoring these concerns which have now been validated by the Commission on Religious Freedom.

The Board’s discussion of this lease can be heard here.

Gerry Connolly is definitely a friend of the Islamic lobby in Northern Virginia, and rarely passes up an opportunity to speak at events hosted by the Muslim American Society, which produced Governor Kaine’s appointee to the Virginia Commission on Immigration, Dr. Esam Omeish.  Gerry Connolly’s appearance with Mahdi Bray last summer at an event held by the Muslim American Society shows Gerry’s strong support for these folks.

But in this video, we see that these folks are actually Hamas and Hezbollah supporters.  Here’s Mahdi Bray pumping his fist in celebration while now-convicted terrorist Abduraman Alamoudi declares his solid support for terrorism:

You better believe this is going to be an issue in Gerry Connolly’s congressional campaign.  It’s bad enough having a county supervisor who embraces these folks.  Having that person become a United States Congressman is utterly ridiculous.

Hmm, wonder if they’ll be suing the Defense Department for money to teach these kids, too?

Since all I could vote for on Tuesday was the 11th district Democratic Primary, I made sure that I did NOT vote for Connolly.

On a slightly unrelated note, could anyone explain to me how districts are drawn? They don’t seem to be drawn against any real jurisdictional lines….like PWC seems to be split between 10th and 11th, yet it seems that most of FFXC is within the 11th district?

I’m in Fairfax County but in the 8th district. I think the “planners” go out and get drunk, then draw lines on the map and that is how the districts are redrawn.

At one time, I was in Frank Wolf’s district, now I’m in Moran’s - talk about a huge let down.

Connolly is running for the House, not the Senate

    [ed note: thanks.]

thanks for the laugh (because the term includes the name Gerry) and the subsequent sobbing (because the process of redistricting is such a crap-shoot). :-)
I know there was an incredibly low voter turn-out on Tuesday, but when I went into my voting center, I was the only one there, and had been for some time. And only 1 person showed up as I was loading the kids and I back into the car to leave. I normally vote after work and in all other elections, there were a minimum of 20 other people there. Makes you wonder how much of the low turn-out in my area was due to poor “advertising” and what was due to a high concentration of conservatives who didn’t want to vote in a Democratic primary.

All Islamic schools and mosques spew this stuff and have been for many years.

Wake up, folks. According to Muslims, any non-Muslim is a fair target. They’ve been at war with Christians for a thousand years. They’re just getting their numbers back, since we seriously depleted them during the Crusades. For some reason, they hold a grudge for a LONG time.

‘Dhimmitude’ is when someone peacefully surrenders to the Islamic army, obtaining the security for their life, belongings and religion, but they have to accept a condition of inferiority, spoliation and humiliation. Islamic law specifies a specific tax to be levied on a Dhimmi as a way for them to express their appreciation for being allowed to live in an islamic state and not be imprisoned or killed.

Dhimmitude is about the most polar opposite from the American spirit as one could possibly imagine.

Apparently no one has told Obama’s brother that the notion he is a Muslim is a false smear.

Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands – to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains, to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glory of his faithful ones. Praise the LORD! (Psalms 149:1-9 NLT)

    There is lots more

In today’s WaPo, there is an article about Muslims in Northern VA “reaching out” to the immigrant community. PR gesture?

Va. Mosque Reaches Out, Joining Immigrant Fabric
    By Pamela Constable
    Washington Post Staff Writer
    Friday, June 13, 2008; Page A01

For years, the Dar al Hijrah mosque was an isolated, slightly mysterious presence in Falls Church — a stark stone building hidden behind a row of trees, rarely visited by non-Muslims in the multi-ethnic Culmore neighborhood, and known mostly for traffic jams on Leesburg Pike as worshipers arrived for Friday prayers.

These days, the mosque bustles with visitors chattering in Spanish and Vietnamese as well as Persian and Urdu. Immigrants from a dozen countries gather there each Thursday, many with toddlers and baby strollers, to pick up donated chicken, bread, fruit and vegetables.

We have got to teach our kids to defend themselves from these Islamic terrorist invaders. They are already infiltrating our schools and revising our history to make our kids play into their hands. Archibald Campbell has the right idea! He makes children’s books that show the truth about what the Terrorists are trying to do to our country.

    Wake up America!
