Road Safety And The Rule Of Law Resolution
By Greg L | 20 June 2008 | Illegal Aliens, Prince William County | 31 Comments
Fellow local blogger PWConservative writes about an “interesting” experience on Sudley Road where he was rear-ended by someone lacking a drivers license, lacking any insurance, who could not speak English, and who left the scene of the accident in an attempt to evade an interaction with the Prince William County Police Department. I’d hope our fellow conservative blogger ensures that whatever information about this driver and his vehicle hs has is quickly provided to the police so we can remove another dangerous and unlicensed driver from our roads.
The problem was, the guy who hit me couldn’t speak a word of English, My linguistic skills in Spanish are equally dismal, I am assuming He was either a Tourist or Illegal Immigrant (Alien sounds too much like a Martian).
We pulled over, As soon as He saw that My neck hadn’t completely snapped off, He mumbled something in Spanish, Jumped back in his car and took off.
The question PWConservative poses is whether the Rule of Law Resolution has improved road safety. In his case, the presumed illegal alien fled the scene in order to avoid law enforcement scruitiny, but that behavior has long been a hallmark of illegal alien drivers in the area, who have been fleeing the scene of an accident long before anyone was discussing a crackdown on illegal aliens. In Mexico, for example, the advice given to many legal drivers is to flee the scene of an accident regardless of whether you’re at fault or not, because any interaction with the corruption-ridden police at all will be somewhat problematic, at best.
The problem of unlicensed and uninsured drivers of questionable legal status in Prince William County running away from the scene of a accident exploded in the past several years. Not too long ago, Lieutenant Philip Harrover was gravely injured in an auto accident involving a drunken illegal alien who attempted to flee from the scene. In my discussions with area residents, I always seem to find a ready supply of people with stories to tell about how their parked car was smashed by someone on a Friday or Saturday night that fled, or attempted to flee the scene. When the individuals were apprehended, they almost always seemed to have tremendous difficulty speaking English, don’t posess a drivers license, and have no insurance.
The frequency of these accidents seems to be decreasing, however. Mexicans Without Borders has plead with their illegal alien membership to respect state and local laws, many more folks are riding around on bicycles, and the local reports of parked cars getting hit in neighborhood have declined to just about zero. By reducing the number of illegal aliens unlawfully present in the area, the number of unlicensed and uninsured drivers has precipitously dropped, although as PWConservative’s account attests, we still have more work to do. By all accounts, the Rule of Law Resolution has made our roads safer, even if we havn’t quite yet discouraged the remaining illegal aliens in the area from unlawfully using a motor vehicle.

I know someone who was hit at the intersection of 234 and Sudley Manor about three weeks ago and the woman didn’t speak English and she didn’t have a driver’s license. The person who was hit asked the officer why he wasn’t checking the immigration status of the driver and the police officer said that policy had been suspended and that they weren’t checking any longer for just an auto accident anyways.
The indulgence by our elected leaders of a population of Illegal Invaders in our County is a result of their fears. They fear retribution from higher-ranking Party members. They fear withdrawal of campaign funding by those who benefit from the presence of Illegal Invaders (traitorous businessmen). They fear lawsuits from the ACLU and Mexicans without Borders.
The way to overcome this fear in our elected leaders is not by appealing to their rationality. Fear overcomes reason in small-minded people. It’s not to appeal to their sense of righteousness. Fear overcomes morality in immoral people. The way to overcome fear is with fear itself. They must fear one course of action more than another. But putting your elected officials in fear of you necessarily involves some risk. Like investing in stocks, one must decide what level of risk they are willing to accept.
The poor guy was most likely just trying to go from his 4th job to his 5th job in attempt to provide for his family who is otherwise law abiding and upstanding. No doubt he also is under pressure to support the family members that he left behind in his native Country. I can understand why he has not had the time to obtain a driver license and insurance.
Funny, the fat broads think they’re all gone! Oh, sorry, we thought illegal immigrants would respect the “rule of law” resolution as much as they respected our borders.

Unfortunate for PWConservative. I know none of you on this blog think undocumented should be issued driver’s licenses. I for one think they should. Since we all know they will be driving, we would have comfort in knowing they can drive, understand the laws regarding operating a vehicle and know what the road signs mean. In addition, they will be able to obtain automobile insurance.
There are other states that issue driver’s licenses just for the reasons I stated above.
I recall some many years ago in Venezuela (when US oil companies still existed there), that to remember while driving that if you get into an accident, that both parties were taken to jail immediately and a judge would decide who was at fault. Traffic signals down there are basically ignored unless actual militia (cops) were there. In fact it was so corrupt, that if you were pulled over and you didn’t have the car’s title in the car with you (e.g. only a copy along with a rental agreement), they would see how much gas was in it and if nearly full, would confiscate the car from you (particularly on a Friday afternoon). It would be returned to you sometime Monday with a nearly empty tank. Thankfully, we never got into an accident or were pulled over.
FHL - Do you honestly believe that illegals would actually stop if they were at fault in an accident, even with a drivers license? I have severe doubts. And why would they be a better driver if we give them a license? And the most important question, why would we reward someone for breaking several laws?
KP: That type of situation that you describe, or some variant of it, has always persisted in most LA countries (Costa Rica being the one exception I am familiar with). It’s a cultural phenomenon. This blatant disregard for the Rule of Law is the cause of the economic failure of those countries, which in turn is the cause of the wave of immigration washing over El Norte. That is the culture the Illegal Invaders are bringing with them. That one single attribute of their culture (disregard for the Rule of Law) would be reason enough to seal off that border.
Thankfully in this instance Virginia is a no-fault state so you can make a claim against your uninsured motorist coverage and get your car repaired. Unfortuantly the felon that hit you (hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident) may not be caught unless he was able to get atleast some shred of information about the other car/driver. My hope is he got the plates down.
With so many northern implants into Virginia this area has lost a lot of it’s southern charm. Drivers are increasingly aggresive and thoughtless. I would recommend anyone here purchasing an in-car video camera system to record your movements. In a case like this it would allow local law enforcement to find the car/driver in question.
Regardless, carry a defensive sidearm. The driver of that car could’ve easily attempted to injure or kill in an attempt to flee.
Make a claim on your uninsured motorist coverage and you still have to pay the deductible. You can just bet as well that your insurance company will raise your premiums. A hit-and-run by an unlicensed and uninsured illegal alien driver will inexorably result in a financial loss to you.
FHL,
Why provide another incentive for them?
I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. Yes the driver of the struck car is liable for his deductible but I don’t believe that a rate increase will be neccesarily automatic - atleast not in Virginia. For your rate to increase you would’ve had to be partially at fault. Assuming the scenerio above (stopped at a red light) the struck driver would not even be partially at fault.
If your insurance does go up - we live in a (regulated) free market. Buy insurance from another carrier. I’m as faithful to a company/brand as they are to my bottom line.

My wife was backed into in the Westgate Giant lot last week. The driver was a Latino woman who refused to show a driver’s license. She did give a name and address (not known if they are legit or not) and the supposed name of her insurance company and said she had to leave to take her husband (a passenger in the car) to the doctor. We did not sustain any damage to our vehicle and the other vehicle had a smashed tail light. My wife took down the license plate number and make of vehicle and immediately called our insurance co. to make a report. Insurance co. took the information and said to call the police when she got home. Wife call the non-emergency PWCPD number and described what happened and the fact that the woman would not show a driver’s license and offered the license tag number to the dispatcher. The dispatcher said she did not want any repeat any information with regard to this accident as it happened in the Giant parking lot. I would imagine we would have received the same response if it had been on Sudley Road. Why are the police not going after people leaving the scene of an accident when they do not provide legitimate identification? We reported back to the insurance company about the refusal of the PD to take any information and they were astounded.

Yes, three out of 50 and at least two of them are reviewing the policy.

Remember it’s only illegal if you can’t outlast someone trying to turn you in!
If you do outlast them it’s just business as usual! Next, how may I taco you!
FHL,
They are already here illegally, the work illegally, and the drive illegally, without a license.
If we DID allow them to get licenses, why wouldn’t we still have the same problem with them driving without licenses? Obviously some would get a license, but those aren’t the ones who are running away. The ones that do wouldn’t bother or take the chance of getting a license.
After all, suppose they get pulled over without one. They are illegal in any case, what good would it do them to have a license?
I guess FHL has no response to our questions. Figures.

Threats don’t work Advocator. Unless you’re willing to back them up with real action. When you stood before the BOCS and declared how ‘We are going to repel this invasion one way or another’ the we part could probably be counted on one hand and even they would give up once the PWC Police got involved. The BOCS supervisors just laugh at your empty threats. You’re embarrassing our whole county.

Speak for yourself. I doubt anyone but you is embarrassed! I’m proud to hear citizens stand up (such as Advocator) to speak their minds! It’s about time! And I bet more than 80% agree with everything he says!

Well that makes perfect sense! While we are at it, let’s issue concealed weapons permits to all felons. After all, we all know they will be caring guns, and we would have comfort in knowing that they can shoot, understand the laws regarding killing others and know what the laws are regarding killing others. In addition, they will be able to commit new crimes while not committing one by carrying a gun we all know they will carry any way.
makes perfect sense to me.
Taco Truck Ted - you crack me up. Did I win the free
tacos?
Got a question……
When the apoligists want their crew to be able to get driver’s
license, is every one (illegals) required to take Road and Range
and Behind the Wheel and PAY for it? Like we (legals) do?
Or do they just take the test with their interpreter, and we don’t
know if the interpreter is giving them the answers?
Just wondering…..
If they can’t understand English, what makes you think they
can read English? Like SLOW, CHILDREN PLAYING.
Do they get a crash course (no pun intended) in English and
reading and driving while at the DMV for a day?
I dont’ think they should get squat. It DOES NOT make
our roads safer. They still will not get insurance because
that is money they can send back home, and not spend
stupidly on insurance that they most likely can’t afford
due to their undocumented driving record…..

No the free drawing has not been drawn. Please visit our website again, visitor #800 for the month of June will also be entered. Once 1000 visitors have visited 10 people will have a chance to win. At that time Juan will place his unsanitized hand into the barrel and pluck a winner. If you don’t win I will buy you a pizza from the original Ledos. But please don’t tell Juan, he hates Ledos with their fancy business license, running water, indoor plumbing, and the likes.
Whoops forgot the website:
