Sharon Pandak Misappropriates Public Resources

By Greg L | 24 June 2008 | Virginia Politics, Prince William County | 8 Comments

Sharon Pandak thinks you don’t pay enough in taxes, which is no surprise to any of us in Prince William County who have been subject to her bizarre use of pizza as a measure of monetary value when describing her proposed tax increases.  Her rantings have become so silly that many of us don’t even bother to read them any more.  But Alexandria Taxpayers United President Bud Miller’s eyes haven’t glazed over as ours have at the prospect of another Pandak diatribe, which allowed him to discover this little gem.  This is awfully unusual behavior for someone who is an attorney and has a law license, and a supposed political future to protect:

Finally, I would note that Ms. Pandak, is a Governor appointed member of the NVTA and currently does not hold elected office. However, it is interesting to note that when one “clicks” on her link on the NVTA’s Member’s web site, it connects to her recent campaign’s web site when she unsuccessfully ran to be the Chair of the Prince William County’s Board of Supervisors. Just curious, do other public “authorities” allow their web sites to be used for campaign purposes?

Now let’s get this straight: here’s a former county attorney who feels that as a member of the NVTA it is not only her duty to tell us that we all need to send more of our money to Richmond during tougher economic times, but she is also promoting her political campaign using public resources? If you guessed that Governor “Abuser Fees” Kaine was the person who appointed Pandak to this position, which might partially explain this high standard of ethical behavior, you’d be right.

How many pizzas did Virginian taxpayers have to forego so that Sharon Pandak could further her political future at public expense?

    To whom it may concern:

On behalf of the volunteer staff for the Authority we offer our sincerest apologies to Ms. Pandak for inadvertently linking the NVTA member page to Ms. Pandak’s “About Sharon” section located on her web site.

This was purely a mistake made by one of the volunteers helping to maintain the web site and the link was not authorized by Ms. Pandak or the Authority.

The link was established in January, 2008 after her appointment to the Authority with the intention of providing a description of Ms. Pandak’s background and credentials. The link was also established more than two months after the conclusion of her campaign. Therefore, there was no link between NVTA and any active political campaign web site, as has been inferred.

As of 1:00 pm on June 24, 2008 the link was deleted and we apologize for any erroneous impression that this link may have created.

Uh Huh; Riiight. Got it. “Inadvertent.” That’s our story and we’re stickin’ to it.

Ms Pandak’s tyrant approach to government is well established.

This is always their excuse”it was a mistake’.

Sharon started going to the BOS meetings right after she announced or maybe it was before, as we said Oh Boy,she’s going to run for something.

She never went to the BOS meetings,to talk at citizen time until it gave her publicity.

A person like this can not be trusted.

Reminds me of the types who show up at County GOP meetings only when they want to run for something, “Free.”
