Lax efforts by state and local law enforcement make it easy for not just illegal aliens, but also illegal aliens with a shocking history of violence to remain in Virginia and laugh at our feeble efforts to control our borders and remove illegal aliens from the United States. Take a recent example, that of Rolando Mota-Campos as reported in the American Chronicle to heart when you hear the next open borders enthusiast try to tell you how it is somehow inhumane to demand that the law be applied fairly to everyone. This guy has been arrested eleven times, deported three times, and never served more than a thirty day sentence on various charges of abduction, DUI, assault, attempted robbery and domestic violence between 1992 and 2005. It was only until he threatened to cut the head off of a social worker with a machete that he received a well-deserved 14 1/2 year prison sentence.
“United States is stupid…I come back every time.” Those words were spoken by Mexican national Rolando Mota-Campos to an immigration agent after his 11th arrest in the United States. Incredibly, Mota-Campos has been deported three times and has vowed to return again after completing his prison term and yet another arguably meaningless deportation to Mexico.
Mota-Campos whose face is adorned with a teardrop tattoo, stood in a Norfolk, Va. federal courtroom last October to be sentenced for threatening to cut off a social worker’s head with a machete. U.S. District Judge Henry Coke Morgan Jr. said: “The defendant has expressly stated that he has no respect for the United States and that once deported he will re-enter again and come back to Newport News where his history of alcohol abuse will further endanger the residents of this district.” Judge Morgan sentenced Mota-Campos to 14 1/2 years in prison.
While 42 year old Rolando Mota-Campos’ personal reign of terror is apparently over at least for a few years, it is beyond sickening why this illegal alien with ties to the Mexican Mafia has been able to disregard our border as well as the lives of innocent Americans for 19 years. He first entered this country illegally in 1988.
The courts failed us by displaying a leniency toward this individual that American citizens would never imagine they would be entitled to. State and local law enforcement failed us by neglecting to check the immigration status of this individual when encountered during any of his frequent drunk driving incidents. Had any part of our justice system acted in a responsible manner and done the job the American people expect them to do, this thug wouldn’t be displaying such a casual disregard towards the United States, nor would he be telling all his buddies how easy it is to evade the law in the United States and be encouraging them to follow his example.
Instead, many of our federal, state and local officials overly concern themselves with a misplaced sense of unwarranted compassion towards those who flagrantly disobey our laws, which only encourages predators like Rolando Mota-Campos to prey on the American people. I’d bet that if illegal alien apologists like Gerry Connolly, Dick Saslaw and Ken Stolle had someone like Rolando Mota-Campos living next to them, they might think a little differently, but alas they don’t.
We do, and we’re sick of it. We’re absolutely sick of being “stuck on stupid” like this.
