Fireworks Weather Forecast
By Greg L | 4 July 2008 | Uncategorized | 3 Comments

The National Weather Service is currently predicting a 70% chance of rain and thunderstorm activity this afternoon and evening. If you intend to go out for the festivities, be prepared to get caught in the rain. Here’s the current short-term forecast:
SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE METROPOLITAN AREAS OF BALTIMORE AND WASHINGTON DC THROUGH 1 PM. RAINFALL MOUNTS WILL BE LIGHT AND AVERAGE LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BECOME MORE NUMEROUS LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. STORMS WILL CONTAIN HEAVY DOWNPOURS…FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES AND GUSTY WINDS. THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL EXIST INTO THE EVENING HOURS.
SKIES WILL BECOME PARTLY SUNNY FOR THE AFTERNOON WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 80S. HEAT INDICES IN THE CITIES WILL AVERAGE AROUND 90 DEGREES.
This is definitely going to complicate the festival in Manassas, where I’ll be manning the Help Save Manassas booth. Let’s hope the weather is better than predicted.

maybe it will rain and that way ricardo juarez can finally get a bath.
At 6:30 MCPD said the Manassas fireworks were
still good to go at 9:15 –IF there isn’t another
major rain/wind front like the one that hit around 4:30.
That earlier storm cleared the crowd, but folks
are drifting back. (FYI - Greg, crew and the
HSM tent survived the weather even if they got a
little damp.)
do the mexicans without borders have a tent too? maybe they are handing out green shirts or something?
oh..I forgot, they are not american citizens so they would not be at an event like this.
