Keep up the good fight, you and HSM are making a difference, my neighborhood is coming back, people are walking around at night after dinner visiting with other neighbors out walking. No more flophouses that I can see.

Unfortunately there are still some around. A house up the street from Colgan’s old place had 9 vehicles parked in the yard, on the massive driveway that covers the front lawn and on the street last weekend.

The above cited flop house has been vacated!

Anonymous,

Time to get zoning involved then. Send them an online complaint, have your neighbors do the same thing a day or two later.

They were informed some time ago and I understand the owner (Hispanic) was brought to court. Results of court hearing is unknown but the situation remains the same on the property. Have been told it is a flop house for Guatamalans.

Went by that flop house this morning and it is now empty and NO cars on the property. Perhaps that criminal inditement against the owner worked. One less flop house in Westgate.

Draw your own conclusions.

      HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?

      This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.

      I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it.

      How Long Do We Have?

      About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

      "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government."

      "A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury."

      ">From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

      "The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years"

      "During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

      1. from bondage to spiritual faith;

      2. from spiritual faith to great courage;

      3. from courage to liberty;

      4. from liberty to abundance;

      5. from abundance to complacency;

      6. from complacency to apathy;

      7. from apathy to dependence;

      8. from dependence back into bondage"

      Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

      Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

      Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000

      Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million

      Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

      Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..." Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

      If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

      If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

      WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE,
      ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE

Advocator-
WHOM would I prosecute? Each and every illegal alien I could round up. As soon as they cross the border illegally, almost every action that follows is a crime, from identity theft to fraud. All financial gains should be seized and used to pay back the hospitals, schools, TAXPAYERS and governments that have been paying out to non-deserving illegal aliens. Mind-boggling amount of paperwork? Absolutely. How many would we have to prosecute? Not many. As soon as word spreads that they will lose everything if they are caught, they will pack up and head home. I would love to see a state or county pass this as a resolution. Remember, the apologists said that the PWC resolutions wouldn't work. They did. In retrospect, they weren't even that harsh.

Very simply, if we take away the incentives to be here, they'll leave.

If we can take away everything they gain while here, then they won't come at all.

What impact on the Sub-Prime loans to the invading horde of Illegal Aliens have on the defaults and housing crises that started the unraveling of the whole Economy! I expect, just like our Declining standard of living, Bankrupt Hospitals, Failing Schools, Welfare costs, Identity fraud, Welfare fraud, Voter fraud, Gangs, Crowded prisons, Destroyed communities, Exploding population, Congested roads, Balance of payments, (Imported oil etc. to support the illegal alien population) Trashed Constitution and the Rule of Law, they played a big part, or at the very least, added lots of fuel to the fire.

It looks like with American heading into a very bad recession or more likely an depression, The 100,s of billions the invading Horde is costing American tax payers for free medical, schooling, welfare etc. needs to be spend on American citizens, not invading criminals from third world counties, plus the 40 to 50 billions remittance by Illegal aliens going out of the country needs to stay in the country to simulate the economy!

"Mexico is trying to stem the influx of Central American
   refugees into that country, arguing that they take jobs away
   from Mexicans and add to social pressures.
      It's ironic that the Mexican government, which does
   nothing to discourage its own citizens from illegally
   entering the United States, now is closing its own
   southern border to illegal aliens.
      Mexican Minister Manuel Bartlee Diaz has recomended

Mexican citizens seeking asylum in the U.S. from mounting drug-related violence will have to prove they are refugees in danger of persecution, a spokeswoman for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service said.

At least 63 people have sought political asylum at border crossings in the El Paso region since October, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The Associated Press reported the numbers, which are almost double the 33 claims made in all of last fiscal year.

Asylum applications are also up in South Texas but remain steady in other parts of the border.

Among those seeking asylum are police, a journalist and businesspeople.

Anyone can file for asylum, but the burden of proof is on the applicant, said Maria Elena Upson, spokeswoman for the Citizenship and Immigration Service.

To win asylum, refugees must prove they would be persecuted in their country because of their race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, according the agency's Web site (www.uscis.gov).

Some Juarez residents have moved to El Paso in recent months to avoid the plague of killings, kidnappings and robberies in that city.

The violence trend continued Friday as another Juarez police officer was killed and his partner was wounded in a shooting.

And soon before 10 p.m., an unidentified man shot in Mexico was brought to El Paso's Thomason Hospital in an ambulance under police escort, according to emergency transmissions.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/14/AR2008071402427.html

Why aren't we using RICO laws to seize the assets of illegal aliens? These people know that they are criminals, yet they stay here and continue to break our laws, holding their children up as shields and using every excuse in the book. If they had any regard for their children/wives, they would realize that the battle is over and send them home. The scam is over and the lights have come on. Scurry away!

Diversity Girl,

Thanks you for telling me what offended you. I may at some time want to offend you again, and this is rather helpful to know.

If you truly feel that you deserve an apology, please avail yourself of the automated apology interface available at the bottom of every post. It saves me a tremendous amount of time to have an on-demand feature that takes care of this for me, and I hope you'll take advantage of it.
