Nova,

The only ignorant ones around here are the ones like you, who support illegal immigration. The fact that you would reward law breaking, by granting "visas" to criminals is proof enough that despite, what you say, is in fact support for what these people have done. Which of course is to break the law, continue to break the law, and then to get rewarded for breaking the law. How in the world is that a conservative value?

You do of course realize that if the Government starts to hand out Visa's to illegals, that it will just encourage even more to break the law and circumvent the system in order to obtain a Visa by breaking the law. How exactly is your way going to send the message that illegal immigration is bad, and that people who want to immigrate to America have to play by the rules in order to benefit from everything America has to offer?

What would you do with illegals who have stolen someone's social security number which resulted in lost time, money and credit for that poor "non violent crime" victim? What would you do with the illegal who has driven without a license, without insurance, caused a traffic accident, then used a false name or even ran from the scene? Because illegals use multiple names and identities, exactly how would you weed the "bad" criminals from the "good" criminals?

Your family history means nothing in this debate. But sense it seems that it has influenced your support of illegals, my family has been here since the 1700's and have defended the Nation in every war since the war of 1812. Now, should that make me more likely to support criminals? Nope. I realize the sacrifice of those who have died defending America, and realize that we do in fact have a rule of law that must be followed, and anything to undermine the rule of law is in fact an insult to those who have died defending America.

Anyone born in America and prior to this land being called America is related to an immigrant.

True debate is a good thing, 999. Otherwise, people like you would bring profound shame to our great country.

CoM: It's very tempting to confess that your superior intellect and cleverness have turned me out of my entrenched position and forced me to admit that, goshdarnit, I really am in favor of child rape and murder. You're just too dern smart for me and you've got the upper hand in this.

But that would be an ironic thing to say. It would amuse me, but in this company, there are quite a few who would take it literally. Much as I giggle at some of the ignorant passion around here, I need to speak very slowly and use small words.

So, once more: I do not favor child rape. I think murder is a bad thing. I oppose illegal immigration. I oppose amnesty. I oppose mass deportations. I think federal immigration policy is a mess, both because the law on its face is inadequate to prevailing economic conditions, and because enforcement has been lax. I favor securing the borders against potential terrorists. I favor immigration policies that encourage legal immigration, particularly in high skill areas and I would make citizenship a relatively easy get for scientists, docs, techs and engineers. But, as a conservative, I also favor the least regulated movement consistent with security of labor (at any skill level) and capital from market to market, regardless of national boundaries. I would grant visas to unskilled laborers who have been here for some time without having committed violent crimes. I would exact a fine for illegal entry and/or auction or fee the right to obtain a visa, assuming my other criteria were met. I would not deport parents of American citizens unless they have committed crimes against property or life. I support consideration of amending the Constitution to remove incentives for "anchor babies."

While I have never hidden myself from the likes of you, but I do sometimes avoid contact for days or weeks because I feel either my Mother or God would be mighty annoyed with me if either thought I wasted too much time amusing myself for no constructive purpose. I have other things going on in my life that mean that I don't hang out here with the same degree of tenacity as you do. Days can go by without my noticing that you've barked at me.

I am a descendant of immigrants, not a one of whom knew when they departed their native land what was legal and what was not about entering either the British colonies or the young United States. They just came. We have fought in every American war save World War I (long story having to do with generational fault lines), have been Republicans since the 1850s, and we love America and hope that millions more immigrants will come to love it as much as we have.

Now, if you move your lips as you read and drag your index finger across the screen, some of this may start to sink in.

I also oppose illegal immigration, as I think virtually everyone does. The debate is how best to address that problem.

NO debate needed. DEPORT THEM ALL!

Nova,

As we just went over a few weeks ago, I pointed out exactly who supports illegal immigration. MWB, the COMPOST, you, and others that have been called out all support illegal immigration. If you oppose child rape and murder, you would not be in favor of the Senate bill that was defeated a couple of years ago that would in fact have granted Citizenship to even those illegals guilty of such crimes.

Your solution is to grant amnesty. I have asked you to provide who you would provide amnesty to and who you think should not get it, and you of course run and hide for a few days hoping to avoid having to answer the questions.

Diversitygal,

You support illegal immigration too, so I'm not really sure why you thought to stick your two cents in on this thread. Though, I suppose if you want to be made out to be a fool, I'm willing to accommodate that.

BTW, you never did answer my question regarding the drunk driving illegal. Why worry about drunk driving, when if the illegal is not here in the first place, they are not going to be able to drink and drive.

CoM - you need to read more carefully. If you did, you wouldn't have to spend your life in such a confused state. For the record, I oppose murder and child rape. I think the Post does too, but they probably thought that obvious enough that they've never had to come out editorially on the subject. I also oppose illegal immigration, as I think virtually everyone does. The debate is how best to address that problem.

Nova,

Just leave, your support for killers and child rapists are just as bad as the COMPOST support for them. The Post has railed against PW and any effort to control illegal immigration, including checking the immigration status.

Well, we'll have to see if tomorrow the WashPo names an illegal alien as the likely killer of Chandra Levy. Their multi-part story wraps up tomorrow and it looks like the culprit may be someone who entered the U.S. illegally from El Salvador.

'... Newsom "still supports the worthwhile aims of denying the federal government" assistance in deporting otherwise law-abiding undocumented residents...'

I still support the worthwhile aims of denying Newsom any and all federal government funding.

I can assure all of you that TTTTP is not Krutis.

Sorry! That was a common saying of Krutis and I made the wrong assumption.

ALERT/ALERT/ALERT - FREE FAX

You can find this fax by proceeding to
http://www.numbersusa.com/faxes?ID=10337

Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey has put a hold on the reauthorization of the E-Verify program. As you know, E-Verify allows employers to determine the legality of their potential new hire. This program is up for reauthorization and many anti-American worker congressmen have been trying to hold the bill up.

Sen. Menendez has placed a hold on the bill and refuses to release the hold until the Congress agrees to increase the number of work-based visas. It is absolutely appalling that a United States Senator would do this to American workers. Not only is he holding up a program that prevents illegal aliens from finding work (and thereby allowing Americans to fill jobs), he is holding it hostage for more skilled worker visas (which keep educated Americans out of a job).

Send your Democratic U.S. Senator as fax and urge him/her to keep Sen. Menendez in line. Remind him/her that this is probably not the message that the Democratic party wants to send heading into the November elections.
