I'm sorry I had to miss the meeting. Considering this is the last vacation week before school starts, I'm so glad to hear you had a good meeting! Sounds like you're going strong - over 2,200 members!
Thanks, HSM, for all you do!

I attended tonights HSM meeting and it was a GREAT meeting. The PWC Neighborhood Services Director had much to contribute to educating all of us just how the Neighborhood Services operates in PWC. What a wonderful model for other jurisdictions to follow. Thanks to those on the Board who planned an interesting and informative meeting.

US Citizen - "start by enforcing lautering laws" -
You may need the help of the Virginia ABC since lautering
is a process in brewing beer. Loitering, of course,
is something else.

Chief Deane? PWC BOC should sincerely thank Deane for his 38 years "on the Force" and his 20 years as PWC police chief (WAPO 24July08) - and then retire him this year. Many thousands of illegal aliens are gathering in public, conducting business, and breaking laws everyday in Prince William County. Chief Deane's best efforts remain an open indictment of failure to keep our PWC a safe place for our families and friends.

Our PWC commonwealth attorney should also consider retirement or resignation. As a law enforcement officer - our Commonwealth Attorney Paul B. Ebert remains disinterested in pressing cases against the illegal alien population in PWC. This is a pathetic standard for a public official. Ebert should be an advocate FOR enforcing the law - and not placing his Democratic Party politics first.

Our outstanding PWC police officers deserve better leadership in the chief's office and in the commonwealth attorney's office.

And when Deane and Ebert scratch their heads and say how? Well, start by enforcing lautering laws. Start by arresting tresspassers on private property. Speak up about the threat illegal aliens pose to our community and our electoral system. Deane and Ebert should deal with the illegal alien threat by considering what it is like if these criminals live in a crowded house near their own homes.

Pat Reilly from Neighborhood Services will be speaking at 7:30 pm at the HSM meeting. Please stop be and see how you can improve the appearance of your community as well as how you can get involved in cleaning it up.

I like the part in the article where the police chief moans about having to check the legal status of someone without a license. So if someone runs a red light and is stopped, and they don't have a license, then he'll just let them go legal or not? I hope to heck Deane isn't getting any ideas!

Greg, you and your HSM neighbors continue to be a thorn in WAPO's side, as evidenced by last Saturday's article trotting out endless streams of imagined and fanciful reasons that prevent other local jurisdictions from exercising the rule of law. The inference is that Manassas needs to be more like El Paso and that immigration laws needlessly "criminalize" immigrants who are merely out to find work.
