I think my opinion of Sarah Palin just went up a few points, even if this is a case of the Republican Party trying to out-do the Democrat’s identity politics game. The only thing that could have made this better is if she had an AR-15, rather than a shotgun.
Lookin’ good, nonetheless.

Pow…Wow…!
If this picture was taken after the fifth child was born, she has my vote! Twice!!
That looks a lot more like a .22 or a pellet gun than a shotgun.
Pellet rifle. Looks like a Crossman 760 or 764.
Total photoshop. With the glasses and hair she looks more like she’s ready for a cocktail party than a day at the pool. Come on.

Amen to that! I only have one and couldn’t look like that five YEARS after giving birth…..sad, but true.

DITTO!
Good job but not quite good enough.
Nuts!
I am offended, but glad that you posted this.
If this was on a Liberal web site or blog, you would attack it. But it does show how shallow we can be at times. This, being your first post on Sara Palin, shows how shallow you can be. This photo (real or not) raises her a few points in your mind - well, then, when the cancer ridden 72 year old kicks the bucket, we should be well represented.
What about when she debates Biden, are you going to judge the results based on the swim suit competition?
Where was she when I was looking for a wife who understood my habit of drinking beer and playing with firearms!
Only if Biden is photoshopped too.
Uh, Pat, not that I’m one who doesn’t criticize Greg, but I don’t think you’re being fair. This caricature WAS first posted “on a Liberal web site or blog,” as the H/T show.
If only the moonbatosphere were only THIS shallow and offensive.
In addition to the bikini, I see Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms - so where are the chips?
Photoshop obviously… do they even have bikinis in Alaska?
I was going to ask in the open thread what the thoughts were about the VP selection.
Guess most of you are thinking with your little head.
Really!!!
Greg - a scope on a shotgun??? That’s as useful as teats on a bull!
[Ed note: not if you’re hunting big game with slugs. I guess you’ve never done so, but I got my first buck with an Ithaca Deerslayer with an 8x scope mounted on it.]
Another one of life’s great unknown mysteries:
Why do women wear bikinis, then chastise men for noticing?
“Only if Biden is photoshopped too.”
His hair is.
NOVA Townhall has another picture which is a even worse Photoshop job.
http://novatownhall.com/
Look out folks, in another couple of days the Left will have porn pictures with Palin’s face photoshopped in.
This is going to go beyond ugly.
Oh dear God. For the most conservative blog in Virginia…..
Her first obligation is to her family. She should have said no and cared for her daughter, who is obviously troubled. If she practices what she preaches, that is….. The child is 17 - she is not a good Mother to shove her into the national limelight like this.
I can only imagine if she were someone not very popular with this group what would be said.
“Look out folks, in another couple of days the Left will have porn pictures with Palin’s face photoshopped in.”
I don’t know, look like the right (what’s left of it anyway) has a head start with this photo….. This is not good.
This was photoshopped.
Go to this website:
http://www.secretsofsarahpalin.com/2008/09/01/10-pictures-sarah-palin-doesnt-want-you-to-see/
Then scroll down to the “Sarah Palin Looking Wacky” photo and you’ll see that it is the identical photo, but reversed and pasted onto the bikini body.
Obviously this photo is photoshopped. Even if this photo was created by the lefties, to post it as a thread here is an insult to Ms. Palin and to women. She is the Governor of Alaska and has been selected as the VP candidate for the GOP. Why would you want to post this photo which depicts her as some cheesecake pinup girl? She is a bright, intelligent woman. I do not find the photo humorous. This portrayal of her and some of the comments made are quiet demeaning.

Typical doings by the liberal left to attempt to smear the opposition. They never could win a fair election and resort to this type of crap.
Anonymous on 2 Sep 2008 at 3:29 pm: I get it about the liberal left but I just wonder why a conservative blog with many GOP supporters would post this doctored picture of Ms. Palin. It does not serve any useful purpose. It is really just best to leave such things alone. Why play into the hands of anyone who would want to demean this woman?
All I can say is the left is scared. From the moment Palin was announced as the GOP VP candidate, the left started taking cheap shots, and they are getting cheaper by the day. There must be some majorly stained shorts in the Obama war room, and on the Daily Kos. They know that Palin is the real deal. Feminist, Mother, Conservative, Reformer, who isn’t shrill, and hasn’t lost her feminity. She will appeal to a huge section of the electorate, and the left knows it.

Please continue to post these official photos as soon as you
receive them. Thanks.
Sarah Palin is an educated and successful woman who has achieved the status of Governor and Vice Presidential nominee and THIS is the picture that’s posted here in her honor? A badly photo-shopped picture that equates her with someone you’d see in a calendar hanging in an auto repair shop? If this was supposed to be funny, it isn’t. This photo totally feeds into the liberal elite’s attempts to make Governor Palin into some sort “naughty librarian meets honky tonk woman” joke. Please post photos that are respectful of Gov. Palin, she deserves much better than this ridiculousness.

I checked Snopes.com and the verdict is……
Photoshopped! See: http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/palin.asp
Personally, I’m bummed the picture is a fake, but I still think she’s hot!!!

Nope, I have always hunted deer with bow, and only used a shotgun for pheasants and rabbit. I guess I stand corrected. But, do you think she is deer hunting at the quarry, or plunking cans?

SAME GOES FOR THRUTHSEEKER AND ANONYMUS.
This photo shows a lack of respect for Gov. Palin. There is nothing funny about it and she should not be the butt of anyone’s joking. My panties are not in a bunch because I am a liberal or a leftie. They are in a bunch because I am a woman and this picture depicts Ms. Palin as a cheesecake pinup and not the intelligent and accomplished woman that she is.
Zeezil,
If you are a woman, you have set the cause back 50 years with your comments about this being a lighthearted joke.
“If you are a woman, you have set the cause back 50 years with your comments about this being a lighthearted joke.”
Doesn’t Dolph make this comment every so often?
Lighten up, people, and move on. Every attempt at humor really doesn’t warrant this much scrutiny. jeesh.
Greg (etal), I hate to be the one to have to say this, but I think you’ve all been duped.
There are numerous other pictures of Gov Palin hunting, fishing and shooting as well as in family pictures.
In none of the “real” pictures does she present her self as a Barbie Doll.
I seriously doubt anyone will find any bathing suit pictures (with a gun in tow) anywhere in the family photo albums. Though I’m sure she may still have some swim suit competition pictures from her Miss Alaska days.
She’s the best choice for McCain’s running mate McCain, but something in my gut tells me she’s too much of a “today kind of woman” to demean herself and all women in the country by posing for this picture, or any others like it. And this is a good thing!!!!!
However this does not mean we probably won’t see some very fine examples of photo enhancements during the next few months.

Perhaps some of you’d like this picture of Ms. Palin better…
zeezil ,
I do not find this light hearted - it is demeaning. I would expect this blog to be blasting other blogs for perpetuating these photos.
I notice that there have been no comments supporting here candidacy here - is it because we do not think she is worthy?

It serves one purpose which takes about five minutes or so and it’s not like it’s never been done on the internet before.
This was photoshopped, as were the gang bang pictures.
If the purpose of this posting is to show how desperate the left is in demeaning powerful (Republican) women, then you’ve done a good job here. Remember the way the leftists depicted Condoleezza Rice as “Aunt Jemima.” It all goes with all the false rumors that left-wing bloggers and formerly-respectable newspapers have spread.
I believe that Gov Palin is an absolutely wonderful choice; in fact, it wouldn’t bother me one bit to see the Republican ticket “flipped.”
It’s amazing how all of a sudden “experience” becomes important. When she speaks tonight, you won’t see a little “gun-toting cutie,” you will see an intelligent and determined person of conviction and character. I don’t think she’d listen one minute, much less 20 years to Obama’s racist, GD America mentor!
The democrats rightfully fear her…not only for what she provides the McCain ticket, but looking ahead to “four years from now.” They will do whatever they can to smudge Gov Palin — how sad!

How do you know so much about Dolph (wink wink)?? It’s OK, many of us have multiple identities. Just be honest about it.
There’s always a good reason to vote GOP
The prospect of forcing women to cross state lines if they want to have abortions, or maybe even revert to coathangers and throwing themselves off horseback or down stairs
The prospect of fighting in Iraq for 100 years to defend France’s oil
The prospect of maybe even protecting all the brain-dead Terry Schiavos out there from evil spouses who want to turn life-support off … imagine a world full of millions of dfead with melted brains being kept alive on life support endlessly … a fantastic “respect for life” ….
The other side after all is evil and just doesn’t get it
Always some really good important reason to pull the lever for whatever ass clowns the GOP puts up to run while both parties sell this nation out on a daily basis
Rick -
You’re starting to sound like your buddies over on the anti site.
oh, Rick just can’t seem to quite “make it on his own”; needs the democrats to ensure that your dollars and my dollars take care of him…..:(
I’m not saying there is virtue to voting for the Democrats, who are a corrupt headless machine that promotes social irresponsibility and lawlessness
I’m suggesting we should not settle for what the two parties are dishing out to us
And that if you vote for McCain you’re voting for Amnesty
I would still throw her one!
Ask Terry’s parents how they felt about the decision to allow their daughter to die. Try to put yourself in their place. You won’t, because you are the ass clown who writes outrageous things behind the warm, safe anonymity of a blog site.
Note that one of John McCain’s heros
(and mine) is Teddy Roosevelt who famously
declared himself “Strong as a Bull Moose!”.
Not sure I would say that around Sandra Palin
while she was holding a rifle.
(And TR was not a universal choice to be McKinley’s VP.
Teddy was called a “damn cowboy” by Mark Hanna,
the major GOP boss of the period. And part of
TR’s own NY delegation voted for him to get
the “SOB reformer” out of Albany.”)
The Catholic church is behind it all, right Rick???
“Ask Terry’s parents how they felt about the decision to allow their daughter to die.”
So, what type of law would you prefer to what we have? If your parents want you to stay alive brain-dead then it shall be done? What about a child? Or a brother or sister? Exactlly what type of ass clownish law would you create for the sake of Terry Schiavo?
You want my opinion on the Catholic Church? It’s a huge amoral scam and anyone who takes it seriously or treats it with respect is a childish moron.
Maybe you want a law where if any other person on Earth wants you to stay alive in a vegetative state it should happen, unless special dispensation is granted by the Pope?
To me, and probably most people would agree with this, at least all the grown-up ones who can face the nature of reality without the need to invent fairy stories for themselves, we are our brains. The “soul” does not exist. Hence keeping Terry Schiavo alive when her brain is no longer there is a purely selfish act motivated by one’s desire to propogate one’s childish fairy story beliefs out upon the rest of the world. Same thing for people who think aborting a fetus before its brain is developed is some type of tragedy. It’s no more a tregedy than a woman ovulating or a man jerking off (supposedly a sin, mentioned in the Bible), which I suspect lots of right-wing guys are doing these days to photo-shopped pictures of Sarah Palin.
Is that outrageous or is it just common sense if you stop believing asinine things.
Wow, Bikini’s and shotguns Oh MY! This will trump issues and policies with the guntoting redneck crowd anyday. Of course this crowd consistently votes against their personal interests when you put up guns and god. What a bad use of judgement for Gov. Palin.
@ Rick Bentley
Are you an athiest or agnostic?
Rick apparently didn’t take his prescribed medication today.
Headline in Australian paper on the Palin soap opera:
“Bump on the road to the White House”.
Thank you for asking Mando. From my limited college-level understanding of philosophy, I consider myself a rationalist. I would not consider myself atheist or agnostic as I think either term implies a particular belief that God is not real. Arguably he/she/it could be real, but hiding.
I just choose to believe in what I can reasonably deduce, and generally choose not to believe in inane things. With no particular vehemence that i am right at any point.
The difference betwen me and most religious people is, I have no delusion that I know everything or will know everything.
And I have no medication to take, but as the son of an overbearing religious father, I will rebel against religious beliefs every time and am not shy about telling people how incredibly childish and silly those beliefs are.
“I don’t understand why we’re here or what caused us”.
“So I’ll say God did it.”
“I don’t know why God exists or what caused him/her/it/us, but to my feeble mind this is a logical thing to do”. This is known as the “transitive” property in Math. Whether you call it 2 plus 2 or you call it 4, it’s the same. Whether you call the great unknown God or Chance or Mother Nature, it’s all the same and no answers exist.
Mighty Putty
I know something about Dolph because I know Dolph but honestly I am not Dolph. BTW I am not Moonhowler either.
Sounds to me like you’re an agnostic. Sounds like you’re open to the possiblity of a God.
Not trying to get into a religious debate, just trying to gauge what you’re belief is b/c I’ve noticed a particular distaste in you about organized religion.
I’m a Christian. My faith, to me, is just that. Faith. That’s the beauty of being a Christian (and I haven’t been one my entire life). It’s neither an opiate nor ignorance. It’s liberation and it makes sense once you find it.
I’ve learned over time that happiness is where one finds it, so I try not to go out of my way to insult those who enjoy their faith. But when people try to repress others because of their own beliefs, I have a big problem with things.
And I do believe that the “pro-life” and “right-to-life” movements exist only because it is important to 99%+ of the people in them that we all acknowledge their personal belief in a “soul”.
“And I do believe that the “pro-life” and “right-to-life” movements exist only because it is important to 99%+ of the people in them that we all acknowledge their personal belief in a “soul”.”
I believe it’s far more complicated then that.
according to some psychology courses, a person’s perspective of God is formed by how they view their own earthly father. rick sounds like a textbook example.

So you claim to lack any delusions of being all-knowing, but will consistently deride anyone who claims to hold religious beliefs as childish and silly? How precisely do you reconcile those two thoughts? It seems to me that if you admit to ignorance in “knowing everything”, you might cut someone some slack for believing in a higher power.
Or you might just be a hypocrite.
If photos such as these of teachers, police officials, judges, or lawyers were published in year books, on you tube, or other sites, people in this area/arena would be screaming for resignations. There would ensue the whole “what has public representation come to” mantra. OMG she wants to be a VP? This isn’t Vegas, this is the US. Maybe…just maybe a dem could get away with such behavior (barely), but a Republican canidate? Kiss those ultra catholics goodbye, say bye bye to the evangelicals too. Too much sin for them too take. And what VP would be taken seriously by the middle east once this pic gets published. Do we need for the US to fall farther as a laughingstock?
Oh no! The way the thread and comments are going, I beg that no one will post McCain/Obama pics in a Speedo

I try. But we all draw the line somewhere, right? We don’t sit and tolerate all manners of faith do we? Like Islamofascist suicide bombers? I draw the line before justifying homophobia, getting all worked up over abortion, trying to force Terry SChiavo’s husband to keep her in a vegetative state, etc.

She just rocked the GOP convention! She was SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But if Senator McCain is elected president, that is the journey he will have made. It’s the journey of an upright and honorable man, the kind of fellow whose name you will find on war memorials in small towns across this great country, only he was among those who came home.
To the most powerful office on Earth, he would bring the compassion that comes from having once been powerless, the wisdom that comes even to the captives by the grace of God, the special confidence of those who have seen evil and have seen how evil is overcome. A fellow…
A fellow prisoner of war, a man named Tom Moe of Lancaster, Ohio…
… Tom Moe recalls looking through a pinhole in his cell door as Lieutenant Commander John McCain was led down the hallway by the guards, day after day.
And the story is told, when McCain shuffled back from torturous interrogations, he would turn towards Moe’s door, and he’d flash a grin and a thumbs up, as if to say, “We’re going to pull through this.”
My fellow Americans, that is the kind of man America needs to see us through the next four years.
For a season, a gifted speaker can inspire with his words. But for a lifetime, John McCain has inspired with his deeds.
If character is the measure in this election, and hope the theme, and change the goal we share, then I ask you to join our cause. Join our cause and help America elect a great man as the next president of the United States.
Thank you, and God bless America. Thank you.

Barrack can still win! If he can convince Hillary’s supporters to forgive and forget that he collective gave Her and them the finger during his campaign. He will also need to convince Bitter small town Whites that cling to Guns, Religion, Love of American and believe in our Constitution against Invasion and the rule of Law that the largest invasion in world history, of any country, at any time, by any means and that is taking their jobs and lowering their standard of living while killing, robbing and raping American citizens by the 10,s of thousands every year and is slowly but surely changing American into an Spanish speaking third world cesspool of Crime, Corruption, Poverty and Misery, modeled on Mexico, is a good thing for them and American.
He may even start losing losing black votes since they are the ones paying the greatest price for his pandering for Hispanic votes to fuel his political ambitions and lust for power!
They are starting to realize that Barracks open Borders and Amnesty for the Invading horde will completely disfranchise and destroy the political gains, civil rights & progress made by Black Americans and empower the Racist Hispanics.
He needs to explain why he and most Democrats Believe that Article IV Section IV of our Constitution against Invasion, enforcement of our Immigration Laws and their Oath of office are all null and void!
He needs to future explain why he thinks Babies born alive should be denied medical care and left to suffer until they die! Why he considers babies an punishment and worthy of killing!
He will need to convince them that attending the church of hate, supporting and listening to Hate American, Hate Whites and hate everything but Blacks and Muslims for 20 years while hanging out with criminals, terrorist and racist is no big deal and no harm intended!
