Government By The Liberals, For The Liberals…

By Greg L | 1 October 2008 | Prince William County | 26 Comments

Let’s say that you were a political activist, and you just didn’t have all the cycles to keep an eye on everything that’s going on in county government.  Wouldn’t it be nice to have public employees taking time from their busy, taxpayer-funded scheduled in order to provide you with intelligence?  Now if you happen to have a conservative outlook, not only would it never occur to you to ask for this kind of support, but the chances of you getting it if you asked are infinitely small.  If you’re a liberal however, not only would it be natural to ask public employees to do your bidding, but you’d probably get everything you asked for.

Such is Prince William County Government under the leadership of Chief Executive Craig Gerhart.

And when was the last time you sent a county employee an email asking a legitimate question and got an answer back within 20 minutes?  Every time I seem to ask any questions, I need to follow the FOIA process unless (sometimes) I’m talking to an elected official.  When liberals who seek to undermine the policies of our elected officials ask their questions, they get “customer service”, and even a “media” designation if that’s what it takes to justify this kind of outrage.

This is what “equality” means to liberals, folks.  Unfortunately, you don’t qualify to enjoy it.

With this whole mortgage fiasco, I’m feeling more and more that liberals should be held criminally responsible for all the MONEY THEY ARE STEALING FROM ME!!! to fund their socialistic experiments! This means you too ERIC BYLER. You haven’t stolen as much from me as your liberal Gods, but dammit, you’ve stolen from me!

It’s about to get worse….Republican House members were on the talk shows this morning saying “we’re getting all positive phone calls now to pass the bill, whereas before we were getting requests for vote to not pass”. They don’t even bat an eye when they lie to the people…it’s a little scary. I hate to say it, but we’re going to have to endure punishment for Bush, and that punishment is going to be rough.

Keep calling and e-mailing. Tell your senators that they will be looking for a new job if they vote for this fiasco.

Screw the rest of the world. They shouldn’t have caught a ride on our economic coattails. There are thousands of chinese factories closing because they were built to milk (melamine included) the U.S. economy. Perhaps a recession is in order to put our economy back in balance. The house of cards is doomed and the world is looking to us for leadership. Time to stand up, take the blame and fix the policies that got us into trouble. Private banks should not be REQUIRED to make risky loans. Businesses start and fail daily. That’s life.

I agree Johnson. But average joe taxpayers will pay for this travisty eventually one way or another. Perhaps less so with the bailout. There’s no crystal ball.

The key is to ensure no further socialistic experiments are conducted at our expense.

The leftist shenanigans between Byler and certain county employees shouldn’t surprise anyone - leftists believe they’re better than you and me and can get away with anything because they’re simply leftists.

It even happens on the national level:

A debate “moderator” in the tank for Obama; Update: McCain campaign didn’t know about book

    http://michellemalkin.com/2008/09/30/a-debate-%e2%80%9cmoderator%e2%80%9d-in-the-tank-for-obama/

If Rush Limbaugh wrote a book about McCain and his presidential campaign for release on January 20, 2009 and was the scheduled moderator of the VP debate bewteen Palin and Plugs, how would the left react?

County employees will do whatever they will do. It’s our BOCS that holds them accountable. We need to hold the BOCS accountable for allowing this. We have no way to hire or fire anybody at the county EXCEPT for the BOCS during election time. If they do nothing about this then we should hold them accountable.

This election is clearly showing that the MSM remains very biased in favor of liberalism and the Democratic Party. Joe Biden says FDR went on television right after the Great Depression started and showed leadership. Now, the great depression started in 1929, FDR wasn’t president and virtually nobody had a television. Other than that - a well considered comment. Sarah Palin says anything the MSM doesn’t like and it’s heralded like a declaration of war.

But … take heart. 15 years ago nobody would have ever heard of Biden’s gaffe. Today, alternate cable programs, the internet, blogs, etc help keep the MSM honest. They can be biased but they don’t monopolize the news. And the even better news? They are all basically going bankrupt anyway. I wonder whether anybody will remember what MSM stands for in another 15 years.

I’ve not seen any calls from Congress that the mortgage programs that created this mess be abolished. Mere coincidence? I think not.

    Johnson:

Your point is well taken. But I see it as the difference between CPR during a heart attack and an improved diet afterwards. The so-called bail out is CPR. It’s an emergency measure that might or might not work. The mortgage reform is like exercise or improved diet. It’s necessary of the patient survives the heart attack. When a person falls down clutching his chest is not the time to lecture on the merits of a low fat lifestyle. However, that lecture is warranted a few days later. There should be mortgage reform. And some of the executives involved in this fiasco almost certainly misrepresented the financial condition of their companies. They should be eating federally issues meals for a while. And the guys who oversaw the meltdown of their companies should be banned from working as an executive in the financial industry every again (and they should lose all bonuses, parachutes, etc). However, everything is secondary to getting the credit markets restarted. I’ll admit that there is some chance they will restart of their own volition. Just like some people who have heart attacks survive without CPR. And I’ll admit that the so-called bailout might not solve the problem. Just like some people expire despite receiving CPR. I just think that the odds of success and the penalty for failure are sufficient to justify the so-called bail out or some close approximation thereof.

Then we can start the cure. After we save the patient.

Why do we have an economy based on the expectation of ability to repay a debt rather that the proven ability to repay or better yet, hard assets/collateral? Like the stock market, values are based on what we think they are, not in actuality. The house that I paid $190k for in 2000 was not worth $395k in 2004 when I sold it, four years later. I don’t care who is doing the math, it just didn’t add up.

  11. Groveton said on 1 Oct 2008 at 3:36 pm:

It didn’t add up. That’s why it’s a bubble I guess. And we shouldn’t have an economy that is suceptible to bubbles. But we do. If that economy really tanks - nobody will be better off for it. I never thought the government should bail out the dot com bubble because I never thought the dot com companies had the potential to start a depression. But I think the banks have that potential. So I am willing to swallow my free market pride and let the government bail out the financial system. Being broke stinks - whether you are a person or a country.

This is a pretty good article (sometimes even the Washington Post writes clearly). LIBOR jumping by 4% in a day to its highest rate ever should worry everybody. Remember stagflation?

The Fed EXCESSIVELY lowered the rates causing overconsumption. Mix that with lax lending standards that was being pushed and backed by our Govt. and you have the beginnings of a financial meltdown.

Ted kennedy…you are absolutely correct! The moderator of the debate
(Gwen whoever) is in Obama’s pockets. She is the one who has
decided what the questions will be and who among us can possibly
know whether she has passed her list of questions off to Biden so he
can familiarize himself with the subject matter?
Can you believe this crap?? It’s not enough that we have to contend
with voter fraud, i.e. Ohio (gathering the homeless from streets and
shelters in buses to carry them to register AND vote) now we have to
put up with the debates being fraught with this corruption! I am so
angry, I am ready to explode!

    TedK,

According to Michelle Malkin, “Tons of readers recommend that Sarah Palin open her debate remarks by congratulating Ifill on her book and asking her to tell everyone the title.”

That would be an awesome debate moment. One can only hope.

The modus operandi of radical leftists like Elena Schlossberg-Kunkel, Kate Gotthardt, Eric Byler and the rest of the Obama clan is to destroy America.

Unlike true Democrats of the past like Harry Truman, JFK, and Scoop Jackson, the offspring of the scum-bag hate America 60’s hippies now compose the Democrat Party and they want to destroy this country from within.

They really aren’t Socialists but rather Marxists. They want to distribute the proceeds of the hardworking to freeloaders that they depend upon for votes.

They support illegal immigration, tout them as “immigrants” diminishing the incredible sacrifices of real immigrants that assimilated, because they need a constant cadre of “victims” to cast as needy of our hard earned tax dollars.

They hide their own lack of personal charity and compassion, by smearing those that believe in assimilation and the rule of law as racists.

However, the true racists are the likes of Elena Schlossberg-Kunkel, Kate Gotthardt, and Eric Byler - they’re racists because they do everything they can to ascertain that illegal aliens remain illegal and mere secondary subhumans when compared to their elitist selves.

They last thing they want is for illegal aliens to legally assimilate, because once they legally assimilate into the fabric of this great country, they’ll more likely than not witness the American dream and the vast array of opportunities that linger ahead for themselves - and that’s a direct threat to the radical leftists and their destroy America agenda.

Cast no doubts my friends that the leftist pro-illegal idiots and their taxpayer funded co-conspirators in county government are in deep denial. They’ve been exposed as recent county emails have shown that serving in the public trust to them is merely serving themselves while the Democrat County Executive steers the taxpayer funded good ship lolly pop directly up Eric Byler’s out of county a$$.

It’s more than that, Ted. Those women represent a calculated vendetta against a handful of public and private individuals, supported by a couple of BOCS and a friendly media that feeds them their talking points and even posts anonymously to increase their numbers. If you pay attention to what they write, you will notice that several posters there use the identical syntax and talking points. I had at least three of them gang up on me one time when I realized I was talking to one person, not three. It’s always ironic to me that they call people who disagree with them “nazis” and “fascists.” And then, on top of that, call for their extermination!

If you were to suddenly give amnesty to all 12-20 million aliens, believe me, Elena and company’s reason for being would not go away. They just wouldn’t have what they perceive as their powerful race card to play, in their pathetic attempt to get even with Corey, Greg, Stirrup, etc. for their perceived “dissing.” I imagine revenge is much sweeter to them than spending time away from their blog raising their children.

I always try to look at thing from both sides and try not to leap to conclusions. Some (emphasis added) of the emails you posted I thought I was seeing clarification to FOIA requests. At first I was questioning where this was going because I have had opportunity to have been involved with quick responses from the County Government.

That being said I am extremely disturbed by the obvious skirting of policies. This email is not factual based it contains personal findings and beliefs in the “good sound bite” and in so much makes me believe this person is putting their personal agenda ahead of the County employees maintaining a neutral opinion on issues during work. I could care less what they do on their time and what side of the issues they come down on, however on the clock you maintain a neutral position and carry out you duties as required.

    Extremely disturbing!
